Mark van der Ree: Recent Episodes

Mark is a DJ with over 25 years of experience performing in the underground music scene and the passion for electronic music.

In the early 90s, Mark discovered his passion for electronic music. In underground clubs like the "Space Club" & "Warehouse" in Cologne Mark started to join the electronic music scene. It was 1994 when Mark started to have his first regular DJ gigs in the "Intensivstation" in Cologne. From that point he played at several gatherings and clubs in Cologne like the "Red Rose Club" & "Tiefenrausch", Düsseldorf "La Rocca" & "Rheingoldsaal" and the cross border area (DE/NL) "Extrema" & "Doornroosje".

Two years later, he started to organize regularly the orleander parties. Together with Christian Glagla he formed the orleander DJ team and was also in charge of the olreander bookings. The orleander line up consisted of DJs like Hans Nieswandt, Oliver Bondzio, Robert De La Gautier, Herbert Boese, Jan Krueger, Juergen von Krebs and C-Smooth.

In 2001 Mark moved to Berlin and started with the orleander urban culture network the successful klangspiel parties starring local and international guest artists like Isolée, Seth Troxler, Magda, Cassy, Matthew Dear, Mathew Johnson, Troy Pearce, Zip, Captain Comatose, Clé, Toby Neumann and many others. Beside of his klangspiel engagement, Mark was a substantial part of the Berlin underground club scene, with gigs in clubs like the "WMF", "Pfefferberg", "Cafe Moskau", "Casino", "Electronic Love Lounge".

The different electronic music streams influence Marks music style from the past 30 years with a focus on deep techy house music.
