This week Pastor Ron begins a Christmas series called “The Birth of Jesus Christ.”  He begins by taking us to Luke 2:1-3 where we find Caesar Augustus making a decree that a census be taken of all the people in the Roman Empire.  God works out the details so that prophesy might be fulfilled.

2.  a decree went out form Caesar Augustus that a census be taken of all the inhabited earth.

3.  This was the first census taken while Quirinius was governor of Syria.

4.  And everyone was on his way to register for the census, each to his own city.

When the Jews heard Peter preach they were convicted that they had really done something horrible by killing the Messiah.  They wondered what that should do now, and Peter told them to repent and be baptized.  The Church was launched with 3000 new believers.
