Kate DiLeo is the CEO and Chief Brand Architect of Ennobble. An “Accidental Brand Strategist” who originally intended to pursue a PhD in Anthropology, Kate fell into branding during her first sales job. It was in the pursuit of making quota that Kate realized she was quite good at creating a simple message that got prospects to email and call her back. In fact, she went on to successfully manage a $1 million pipeline by throwing out the sales scripts and unsubscribing her leads from marketing campaigns. Instead, she delivered a simple pitch that invited them to engage in a compelling conversation by sharing what she did, how she could solve their problem, and how she was different from the competition.
This pitch, which Kate calls “The Brand Trifecta”, is rooted in her firm belief that brand is the path of least resistance to revenue, because the ability to clearly articulate these three points gives the prospect all the information they need to opt in and say, “Now that’s interesting. I want to have a conversation.” Throughout her career of working in both agency and corporate settings, she pursued her branding side hustle until she finally turned it into her official hustle in 2019. Kate is honored to have worked with more than 200 brands across 20 sectors over the past decade, and she is passionate about partnering with founder-led organizations who desire to craft an authentic, purpose-driven message that effectively helps them get more prospects to the table, more users who click, and more customers who buy.

Years ago, Jean Ketcham, Founder/CEO of Aging but Dangerous, made the conscious decision to live a life of fun, spirit and style, and she’s never looked back. Jean is a former small business owner, top performing regional sales rep, and talk show host. She’s also a proud parent, an avid skydiver, and a cancer survivor. To put it mildly, Jean is up to any challenge.
After retiring, Jean discovered that 55+ women were not living up to their true potential. Their social circles were shrinking and their lifestyles were becoming less stimulating, less adventurous. That’s when Jean, along with Aging but Dangerous co-founder Suzanne Bates, became committed to making a difference.
Jean began organizing meetings where women could connect and share experiences, insights and strategies to help them enrich their lives. She brought in speakers on a wide variety of subjects to empower women to take control of the aging process; she also produced special events like 55+ fashion shows, skydiving outings, and an infamous “colonoscopy party.”
Before long, Aging but Dangerous was attracting National attention. Jean was asked to appear on talk shows and in major publications like Time Magazine. And now, Aging but Dangerous is entering a new phase. Jean has recently begun establishing local chapters where women can discover what it means to become Aging but Dangerous in lively, fun-filled monthly meetings.

At the tender young age of 4yrs old, Kaari Allen grew up doing all she could do to bring joy to her parents after her younger brother’s sudden passing. The positive reinforcement she received from gold stars on schoolwork snowballed into honing her skiing ability to become the #1 female skier in the country for her age with hopes of someday making an Olympic team. Pushing her body beyond capacity lead to the end of her athletic aspirations. Later in life, a non-ergonomic work station in her classroom set off numerous, serious and permanent injuries to her dominant hand. This heartbreaking end of a 27-year career in special education as a learning specialist, brought Kaari to her new reality and the ‘ah-ha’ moment that she can’t care for others until she focused on her own strengths to regain forward momentum in life. “Where The Hell Did I Park My Life?!Owner’s Manual For Shifting Your Life Forward.” is a book that draws upon her personal and clinical expertise providing practical steps to foster momentum to live the best possible life.
Kaari's spiral bound book is written as a guide with space for answering questions and completing pragmatic ‘shifts’ so the reader can identify and access their strengths, skills and reflect on the glorious opportunity of choice. Kaari's coaching enables the reader to move their life forward through shifted perspectives and new behavior.
Kaari Allen Consulting provides services to foster individuals’ gifts and talents to propel them forward in reaching their goals to live the best possible life. Through consulting, training and coaching, clients develop strategies enabling growth, productivity and positive change.
Laura Best started Passion Collective as she made "the leap" in quitting her agency career and starting her own business. She realized that she wanted more, but that her definition of "more" was changing. Yet, this wasn't just a job change, this was a life change. And she had work to do.
Thing is, Laura didn't want to go to another networking event or conference. She didn't have the time, cash or courage to try new hobbies, although she craved more fun. She already had a gym. She was reading the books, repeating the mantras, writing the journal, signing up for the online classes. Something was missing.
That something was other women, and the energy created when women share ideas, encouragement and have each others’ backs. Where women just get each other's barriers because they've been there. Where you learn about cool new stuff women are just DOING, fearlessly and with joy. Laura realized that she didn't know where to find this place. So, she set out to create it.
Since the launch of Passion Collective in 2015, Laura has seen women light up in meeting each other, have the guts to show up with strangers - glow with the excitement of explaining their "thing", listen intently when another is explaining what she's been through to get where she is. Laura has been told of generous offers of emotional support, of business relationships created, and most of all, of a feeling of “belonging.”

She guides mid-career professionals to rediscover the wisdom of their life experiences and combine it with a reassessment of their strengths, traits and values. By doing so, Erin helps them redesign their careers with a much higher emotional satisfaction. These insights evolve into a powerful catalyst for stories of change and positive outcomes leading to a unique and influential personal and professional voice. Her clients’ journeys are a testimony to the power we have within us, and when guided faithfully, they can be transformative.
Botanical printmaker, Linda Snouffer, has a pact with the prairies, which provide her with inspiration and bales of harvested plants. She creates multifaceted landscapes in which she makes plant images using prints of fresh grasses. Each piece is a different combination of materials and techniques used, giving her work a unique sense of place.
After studying with artists skilled in fiber, paint, and pastel techniques and a two-year mentor program with the Women’s Art Resources of Minnesota (WARM), her work quickly progressed from simple plant print mandalas to multilayered fine art.
Her botanical print compositions can be seen in the Dow Gallery in St. Paul, the forNOW Gallery in Minneapolis, and numerous exhibitions throughout the region. In addition, her work is a part of permanent collections of Hennepin County Medical Center and the Shoreview Public Library.

Nancy Chakrin’s life’s passion and purpose are giving and sharing her artistic and organizational talents to improve people’s lives. In 2017 she was one of AARP Minnesota’s “50 Over 50 Award” recipients honoring inspirational leaders over the age of 50 who are shattering myths about aging and writing their own rules.
A 2012 proposal partnering BreathLogic with Park Nicollet Health Service won Nancy a University of Minnesota Buckman “Leadership in Philanthropy” Fellowship. Recognizing stress as a personal impediment and a global epidemic, she researched statistics of how breath practices/mindfulness empower and heal. Experiencing this herself, she uses breath to lower her blood pressure, curtail panic, and decline dental anesthesia.
Now there is no stopping her utilizing her award-winning graphic design, photography, technology, marketing and PR skills to help share “Breath Literacy” with the world. As a joyful, dynamic extrovert, Nancy’s many talents and her abilities to foster friendships make her the driving, connecting and creative force within BreathLogic’s organization.
With great joy, her photography assignments have included images of polar explorer Ann Bancroft; David Gergen and Van Jones of CNN; Drs. Andrew Weil, Deepak Chopra, Dan Siegel, Jon Kabat-Zinn; and His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama – to name a few. She is a member of Horizon 100: Twin Cities Women of Accomplishment; Minnesota Holistic Nurses Association; Minnesota Holistic Medicine Group; Co-CreateX Catalyst team; Crosstown Camera Club; and the Kindness Movement USA. She is a graduate from the University of Minnesota in Art Education.
Nancy is a published author (purchase her book on Amazon), and her artwork appears in public and private collections nationally and internationally. She lives in Minnetonka, Minnesota.

Goat Dispatch was established in 2013 by Jake and Amanda Langeslag as an alternative way to manage difficult vegetation. Their ten-acre property was so heavily infested with buckthorn that they could not even walk through sections of it. After years of battling and feeling defeated after using traditional methods, they were determined to find a better way. They wanted to help provide a more sustainable, eco-friendly approach as other land managers were reporting plants that were starting to get more resistant to certain herbicides. For them, traditional methods were very labor-intensive and time-consuming and they wanted their property to be a safe place for their growing children Ivan (2) and Greta (5) to play and enjoy the outdoors. Amanda, an animal lover, always wanted to own goats and Jake agreed to get goats with the understanding that they were “working” around the property. It did not take long for the couple to notice how well they were working and how easily the goats seemed to do a job so difficult for humans. Neighbors started asking if they could hire the goats for their yards and the next thing they knew they were full-time goat wranglers working in parks, cities and private residences all over Minnesota and Western Wisconsin.

Julie Finch revisits her interview with Marianne Buckman
Growing up on a farm with cattle and horses in rural La Crosse, WI has really given me patience, problem-solving skills and a work ethic that is perfect for being an entrepreneur. I took the long route to my dream job of Interior Design. After an architectural education, I drifted into banking and stayed there way too long. Met some remarkable people along the way, but absolutely no creativity. At the age of 40, I decided to go back to school for Interior Design. The final project for my Interior Design class was to create a business utilizing the classes I had in college (finance, retail, business…) With the help of my professors I created CocoBello. In 2003, I actually opened a home decor business in historic downtown Hudson. I was going to introduce my interior design business a year later, but my first client came in within days of opening the retail store. Haven’t looked back since. After 10 years of running both companies, 4 designers, and numerous retail employees throughout those years, I decided to close the retail aspect of the business and focus solely on my passion – Interior Design. And I love it. I received my General Contractors license in Wisconsin over three years ago and am a member of NARI – National Association of the Remodeling Industry. Now I offer my Wisconsin clients an even more customized and personalized service. Being an Interior Designer, I find myself wearing many hats: designer, curator, concierge, educator, project manager, and psychologist. Never a dull moment.

Cheryl believes that a better life is worth fighting for. She’s the founder of Box Lunch Lifestyle: a common sense practice for a more satisfying life built on better food and better ways to invest your time during your workday lunch break. For many years, her career as a test development research director for Pearson was the perfect intersection of Cheryl’s curiosity and her drive to distill, organize, and simplify complex ideas into something actionable. But after nearly twenty years, her love of learning outgrew this role, and too many days felt like a slog rather than making the world a better place. She left in 2018 to do more things that made her feel alive, and to launch Box Lunch Lifestyle with the goal of helping people believe that richer, more satisfying lives aren’t as distant as they seem.In part to be a good boxer, Cheryl’s done her homework on food and nutrition, and shows no favoritism for any one institution or school of thought. An admirer of Michael Pollan, she agrees that “real food should eventually rot.” When people ask food-related questions, she has answers, but also steers them back to their own common sense, and the important “why we eat” that matters just as much as “what we eat.” Cheryl is currently finishing her book about Box Lunch Lifestyle (Spring 2021). She talks to audiences of all sizes, and offers workshops to help anyone see how they can win back the lunch—and the life—they deserve.Cheryl’s secret guilty pleasure is grocery stores—from small family-owned ones, to national chains, to co-ops, to what’s sold in a typical gas station. She’s fascinated by what’s available to people, and what it says about a community and our culture’s overall approach to food. When she’s not boxing, reading, or pushing a cart, Cheryl and her husband enjoy documentary films and Indian food. They live in a small town that Cheryl describes as a cross between Lake Wobegon and Twin Peaks.
This week we are revisiting our interview with Abby Walker!
Abby Walker is the CEO of Vivian Lou, a company that designs high-heel inserts. Her love for shoes began when she was living in Chicago - two years out of college, insecure about her professional credentials and low on cash. She worked with women who had gorgeous hair, gorgeous bags, gorgeous clothes and gorgeous jewelry. To say she felt inept is an understatement. Abby struggled to find her niche in a world of confident, accomplished, beautiful women. Then she found an amazing pair of black and white polka-dotted heels. They were affordable, yet distinct, and set her apart from others in the office. She was instantly hooked on heels. Her love for shoes blossomed, and she continued to push the edge as to what she could (or should) wear to work while pursuing a growing communications career. The more distinct the shoe, the greater Abby's courage— at work and in her personal life. After 15 years in Corporate America and many pairs of high heels later, Abby finally found the courage to start her own business. Abby believes the right pair of shoes can change your perspective on everything and she's honored to offer a line of products that help women focus more on their dreams and less on their feet! In support of Abby's mission at Vivian Lou, she proudly donates a portion of every sale to organizations helping disadvantaged women revitalize their confidence and reclaim their independence. Here's to focusing more on our dreams and less on our foot pain! Abby looks forward to hearing your stories of reduced pain, improved balance, straighter posture and increased courage!

Lorraine Bossé-Smith (pronounced BO-say-Smith) has been preaching the message of stress management and a healthy lifestyle for well over 20 years and has created a formula she shares in her new book Defy Your Diagnosis, that is designed to help people overcome any obstacle they face, including and especially COVID-19.
Lorraine’s FIT Life Formula is how she personally overcame two incurable diseases and shattering life events like physical abuse, broken relationships, career disappointments, and lost love ones to become a victor, not a victim.
Lorraine is the author of nine books, a business consultant, coach, executive recruiter, professional speaker and fitness expert whose Phoenix-based business serves clients across the country. Her passion is to improve the quality of people’s lives and now more than ever wants people to defy their diagnosis.

Years ago, Jean Ketcham made the conscious decision to live a life of fun, spirit and style, and she’s never looked back. She brought in speakers on a wide variety of subjects to empower women to take control of the aging process; she also produced special events like 55+ fashion shows, skydiving outings, and an infamous “colonoscopy party.” Before long, Aging but Dangerous was attracting National attention. Jean was asked to appear on talk shows and in major publications like Time Magazine. And now, Aging but Dangerous is entering a new phase. Jean has recently begun establishing local chapters where women can discover what it means to become Aging but Dangerous in lively, fun-filled monthly meetings.
