Untold stories are everywhere. Maybe one day you saw something incredible and you said: "someone should document that thing". Well,we had that thought before and decided to make it real. The Untold wants to explore those stories and interview those awesome humans who create awesome things.
Karla Avelar, activista por los derechos humanos y líder transgénero, ha sido golpeada, abusada sexualmente, encarcelada injustamente y ha recibido 14 balazos. Sin embargo, nunca se ha detenido. Ella y su fundación (COMCAVIS) se han encargado de mejorar las vidas de las personas trans de ésta región apoyándolos con servicios psicológicos y de salud, apoyo jurídico, entre otras más.
En 2017, Karla fue nominada al premio Martin Ennals de derechos humanos y viajó a Suiza para la ceremonia. Estando allí, Karla se dio cuenta de que si regresaba a El Salvador ella y su madre tendrían los días contados.
Desde Suiza, Karla participa y ayuda en comunidades de refugiados transgénero.
