We have been listening to themes that have emerged over the last 18 months as we've been speaking to people about leadership learnings and things they have been leaning into. What we've discovered is that these things have simply been highlighted by the events of the pandemic. Things have been intensified, but these principles always stand true in any season.
These are the first a number of themes that we're going to drop in from time to time and today we look at:
1.There will always be a new and now
2.Leaders don't always have the answers
3.In leadership, the journey is as important as the destination
4.Be clear about your purpose.

Rachel Ivers trained as a business psychologist, has a lot of experience in the corporate world and now works as a consultant for Giant London. We get up early to chat with our friend Farmer Tom the day after he finishes bringing in the harvest from his 350 hectare farmland. What strikes us as we talk with Tom is that we each have been given a part of God's Kingdom to steward or tend in leadership, and we hear how Tom has been walking, talking and responding to God in his work. Tom is a former film industry executive turned farmer, and chairman of the East Of England farming conference. He also is the founder of global education initiative 'Farmer Time'. He lives in rural Cambridgeshire with his wife Lisa on the family owned farm.

Leadership guru John Maxwell once said that Vision tells us WHAT, Mission tells us WHY, but strategy tells us HOW and today we spend a bit of time looking at how vision can become reality for the Christian leader.
More than just setting goals and objectives, strategic plans and gathering teams, there’s an essential element in this process that can sometimes be forgotten.
In Episode 20, Jon and I share examples of what this process looks like and analyse how to discern whether God is at work in a particular course of action.
