Aviance joins the Fiction Addiction podcast and discusses their journey as singers, their acting roles and more.

Guest Bio

This Philadelphia-based R&B duo is on the rise and won’t stop until they take over the world.

One of the hottest rising R&B acts today is taking the world by storm. The Philadelphia duo, Aviance, fuse traditional R&B, urban-soul, and hip-hop, with a shared appreciation for acts like Jodeci, Dru Hill, SWV and TLC. Members Beyyond and Dominique Nicole, who are from different parts of the city, were put together by Ali Hyman and started making music in 2013 under Reel Boy Entertainment. The name "Aviance" derives from the word "Ambiance" replacing the “AM” with a “V” in which they create a beautiful atmosphere with their voices and energetic personalities. Beyyond has an unparalleled intensity and passion that cannot be ignored. Her voice is as captivating as her personality. Dominique Nicole, has both majestic and rugged beauty, upholding classic R&B vocals that put the "REAL" back in real music.

The year 2017 was monumental as Fall witnessed the freshman release of its “We Had To Do It” album, where “The Bad Girls of R&B," showcased their huge, cutting-edge anthems and diverse line-ups of songs parading women empowerment. That same year, Aviance made several TV appearances on the Fox Network through The Q-Deezy Show and Good Day Philadelphia. In addition to securing segments on local television networks and radio spots, Aviance capped the year off by collaborating with Live Nation, crowding stands at the Theatre of Living Arts venue of Philadelphia.

Philadelphia’s legendary songwriter, producer, and partner of Carvin & Ivan Productions, Carvin Haggins, was compelled to work with the group. Carvin & Ivan are a production duo consisting of producer and songwriters Carvin "Ransum" Haggins and Ivan "Orthodox" Barias. Together their timeless music helped to establish the careers of Musiq Soulchild, Raheem DeVaughn, Faith Evans, and many others. Haggins’ next timeless hit would be Aviance -- he crafted the groups’ next single, “Dreamer” in 2017 and since then has reached great success.

Also known as the Bad Girls of R&B, this all lead singing group entice and continue to grow loyal and dedicated fans through “REAL” singing, implementing catchy hooks with vibes of yesterday and today. Collectively Aviance is well known for their dynamic and aggressive performances on stage. Hence, they performed alongside acts like SWV, Dru Hill, Faith Evans, Mario, Mali Music, Lil’ Mo, Silento and many more.

Today the ladies has partnered up with Spring Garden Records to release their sophomore album, “It’s Aviance.” Spring Garden Records is the official record label of the Community College of Philadelphia. They provide a platform for the release of diverse genres of music created by students, alumni, members of the college community, and local artists. Spring Garden Records will release Aviance first single, “Introvert,” which showcases the girls quirky, gritty, and colorful senses of humor.

Aviance is leaving a mark on this industry and setting the stage on the type of “staying power” that legendary Artists had for contemporary audiences.

Serendipity joins the Fiction Addiction podcast and discusses her journey as an author, the erotica genre and more.

Guest Bio

Amanda Chambers (Serendipity) is a wife, mother, former college professor turned stay at home mom and kickass entrepreneur. She loved reading and writing from an early age, and as she matriculated through grade school, she continued developing that love through English classes and hours of reading books at home. Due to a diagnosed learning disability, doctors and the school system advised Amanda’s mother that she would likely not graduate high school. After having Amanda’s IQ tested and finding it to be well above average, her mother refused to allow others to give up on her daughter and Amanda graduated on time and continued to college.

Once in college, Amanda knew she would pursue her first love: English. At age 28, Amanda because a college English professor. After teaching face to face and doing a stint as an assistant director of a university writing center, Amanda became pregnant and decided to try online teaching so she could stay home with her daughter. Her endeavor into online education was successful, and she won multiple awards including Instructor of the Quarter and Distinguished Educator of the Year.

After being laid off due to record low student enrollment, Amanda decided to pursue a dream she’d had since she was young: Writing a book. In January 2016, she resumed working on the book she began writing in 2008 and self-published it on August 27, 2016 - which also happened to be her 35th birthday. Published under the pseudonym Serendipity, which happens to be Amanda’s favorite word, Ember’s Flame is an erotic romance novel. Amanda is proud to say that she writes all things love and romance.

Amanda chose self-publishing because she had been around the traditional publishing industry since her days of freelance editing in college and she didn’t agree with a lot of traditional publishing practices. Her endless hours of self-publishing research paid off when her book hit #1 on Amazon the day it was released. After seeing that success, many aspiring authors sought guidance from her, which resulted in the creation of Divine Legacy Publishing, an umbrella company for self-published authors.

Amanda recently joined the world of blogging with the creation of RetroModern Mandee, which chronicles her life as a stay at home wife and mother, homeschooler and entrepreneur while putting a vintage spin on her seemingly modern life. Though in it’s infancy, Amanda hopes that her blog will grow in followers and her blog posts will help others.

Desy Smith joins the Fiction Addiction podcast and discusses her journey as a paranormal romance author, becoming a publisher and more.

Guest Bio

Desy Smith, MFA, is a paranormal romance author who is on a mission to expand her readers' minds and create unique worlds that they can escape to through the power of storytelling. Her poignant writing style features sassy heroines, urban drama, angels, wolves, demons, witches, and sensual scenes.

Born, raised and based in Dallas, Desy spent most of her childhood picking apart movies and books. Her mother and her affinity for all things supernatural also really drove Desy to dabble in life's unknowns and use her imagination. Ultimately, this led her to writing stories of her own at just 10 years of age.

Currently, Desy is the Founder of Floebe Publishing, where she publishes her own and other writers' short stories (of 20,000 words max) with the busy reader in mind. She also provides complimentary creative writing advice to her fellow word weavers.

When she doesn't have a pen or book in hand, Desy Smith is a movie buff and foodie with an unquenchable sweet tooth (having a gluten allergy makes things a bit tricky).
