Is the length of time is takes to row the Atlantic with 4 blokes in a boat.
Dubbed the toughest race on Earth with more people climbing Everest than crossing the Atlantic by rowing boat. In this podcast we welcome Dicky Taylor, one of the Four Oarsmen who crossed the Atlantic in 29 days. We uncover what it takes to break the world record and become the fastest men to row the Atlantic. In this episode we talk about physical and mental preparation for an event as challenging as this, we discuss how to deal with complete isolation and the close confinement of a rowing boat with 3 other guys onboard.
Rowing the Atlantic may not be for everyone and you might think it has no crossover to anything else in life. But, in actual fact the lessons learnt by Dicky and the experiences gained are incredibly valuable for everyone and anyone looking to win in life.
Dicky was part of a 4 man team who not only smashed the world record, they did it in under 30 days which is something most seasoned ocean rowers thought would not be possible. Along with his team mates, George Biggar, Peter Robinson and Stuart Watts they did the unimaginable and came out the other side strong. Demonstrating that with good preparation and real purpose, anything is possible.
The Four Oarsmen rasied and incredible £550,000.00 for two charities close to their hearts, Mind and Spinal Research UK. They now regulary give motivational talks for events and corporates with all revenue going to the charities.
