Are you multiplying your money? Or do you “only” have money stacked away in your savings with close to 0% interest rates on it? If so, you're probably not making any extra money on your savings. In fact, you're most likely losing money as inflation is chipping away at the value of your savings every year. By generating money with money you already have, you create more financial stability and security. It can also give you an extra income that you can spend on fun stuff. But if you only have savings, you’re missing out on an opportunity to create more money. By the way, I am 100% in favor of having savings. Having savings accounts is super valuable both in order to reach specific goals, as well as in the case of emergencies when having emergency funds at hand is absolutely essential. But I also feel really strongly about using your money to create more money at the same time. And that means you need to look for other ways to use your money. In this episode, I talk about some of the options to make more money with your money. After listening to this episode you'll know:4 ways to use your money to create more moneysome advantages and disadvantages of eachListen to the episode now and decide which strategy suits you best!

In this latest episode of the Financial Harmoney Podcast, I'd really like to invite you to think about what you are afraid of. Or better said: what regret might you have 10, 20, or 30 years down the line? Whilst I don't like to let my fears influence my decisions, I definitely don't want to regret NOT having made certain decisions later in life. And I find that sometimes, it works better for me to be aware of possible future regrets and the fear of that becoming a reality so that I can make a more informed and conscious decision.Would you like to find out more, then make sure to tune into this episode straight away and get clear on what decisions you might be holding off or what you are afraid of.

I recently listened to a podcast episode by Russell Brunson and he talked about how if you really want to make an impact and create a successful online business, you have to produce content every single day. Yes, that's right. Every single day - he said. That could be in the form of a podcast, blog, song, video...
I've been thinking about this for over a week now, and although it sounds like a mighty tasks, I've also been really tempted to give this a go.
So... I've finally decided to try this out for 30 days.
In this episode of the Financial Harmoney Podcast, I talk about the challenge I have set myself in detail ánd I invite (or challenge ;) ) you to do the same. I suggest three ways in which you can join me into making October count (instead of waiting for the New Year to set resolutions...).
Give the episode a listen and come let me know on Instagram how you're challenging yourself throughout the month of October! Or - even better! - join me on this challenge by signing up below.

The last few weeks have been really "bleh" for me. Apart from launching my course (which has been a great learning experience and fun to do in general!), in terms of life outside of that launch I've felt overwhelmed, demotivated and generally out of alignment.
But I kept going until last weekend I knew I had to change something. I felt that if I didn't take control, I'd be draining my energy levels too much and become too used to the situation. And I mean that not in a positive way. But when things are bleh and I accept the situation too much, then I know I'll stop taking action and get accustomed to a below-average life. And I don't want that.
I want to wake up every day feeling in control, energetic and excited to do whatever I have (and want!) to do that day and ready to make an impact.
So on Saturday I took a moment to analyze what my problem really was and I realized it was a lack of organization. In the last few weeks I'd allowed my living room to become a complete disaster with stuff everywhere that wasn't supposed to be there. Seriously, you could hardly see the table in there, it was just stressful to simply walk down in the morning and see so much stuff everywhere! I spent most of that day just tidying up and I felt so much better after.
And I realized it is EXACTLY the same with financial (dis)organization. If you don't feel in control of your finances (both your expenses as well as a long-term plan or the direction you are going in), it's hard to feel excited and aligned with what's going on and feel that you're moving forward.
Which is why I wanted to share my thoughts about financial organization with you in this episode of the Financial Harmoney Podcast.
After listening to this episode you'll know:
How financial disorganization can cause stress, worries and overwhelm... The advantages of being financially organized Two things to do to become financially organized
Give it a listen and start taking control again if you feel financially disorganized!

Do you ever have one of those days, weeks or just prolonged periods of time when EVERYTHING just seems to go against you? When you deal with setback after setback? (I bet you do by the way, this is merely a rhetorical question!) Isn't it a struggle to remain motivated and optimistic during those times? I've been going through something similar recently and in this episode of the Financial Harmoney Podcast I share two of the setbacks I've had to deal with recently (there were a few more but I decided not to dwell on too many issues...) and how I really struggled remaining dedicated to moving on and continuing my journey to more financial success. (As what's the point when stuff just seems to go wrong all the time, right?)Most importantly I share 3 tips or lessons I learned from it and I know for certain you'll find value in those lessons if you're in a similar situation at the moment, or have in the past, or will in the future (and let's face it: we all will experience set backs again in the future, that's how life works at times...! If you want to make real progress with your financial goals, I recommend you don't just look at your money now and again... I love making the process of achieving financial security and freedom as simple as possible. But the truth is, the longer you hold off checking in with your financial situation and progress, the harder it is to take that step each time. I've made the comparison before, but it's a bit like going to the dentist: the longer you postpone, the scarier it becomes. As who knows what things will look like after all this time? That's why I'm a big advocate of making personal finances a part of your every day life. There's a lot of power in creating little habits that will help you stay on top of your current finances ánd future goals, so that there's nothing scary about any of it. In that way it becomes a lot easier and a lot more fun, as you'll witness your own progress towards financial security and freedom on a regular basis, without it taking up much of your time at all!So... How much time should you be spending on your financial affairs? Well, I am so glad you asked, because even though it's hard to give one clear answer that works for everybody (as we all have different goals, priorities, complexities and interests!) in this episode of the Financial Harmoney Podcast I go into this question in more detail ánd I give you a starting point with regards to the amount of time I suggest you set aside for each of these habits. After listening to this episode you'll know:The purpose of Level 1, Level 2 and Level 3 habits. The 1 - 2 habits I recommend you implement daily, weekly and monthly to get maximum results. How much time I recommend you set aside for each of those habits to check in with your finances (it’s probably a lot less than you think!)You definitely don't want to miss this episode if you've been wondering how much time your personal finances should really take you.

One of my weaknesses is that I am always on the lookout for new habits that have the potential to help me experience more joy and appreciation, to create more abundance or to do good and help others more effectively or consistently. I know this might sound like a healthy enough interest, but if it was up to me I'd almost string my life together with habits. And I know that would actually defeat the purpose of creating a happier, more abundant life because it would allow for no spare time to do something spontaneous or to enjoy the moment. But it is safe to say that I am a bit of a sucker for habits. Luckily I've learned (over many many years!) to be selective and to accept that I can't possibly do it all, no matter how amazing a new idea sounds. I might try it out, but I know there's a limit to how many things I can actually do. That said, I do have a few habits that are so special and powerful that I think everybody should have a go at trying them out. Just because they are 100% worth the effort. In today's episode of the Financial Harmoney Podcast, I am going to share one of THE most effective habits I've come to implement. And it's the perfect habit if you want to hit your goals AND are open to trying out something new. Believe me, this is a habit worth putting in to your daily routine! If you're anything like me, you'll likely feel frustration from time to time about the speed of your progress towards some of your goals. Or better: the lack of said progress. It's definitely tempting to sometimes believe that by setting a goal, designing a plan and establishing some new habits, you'd be able to reach that objective within a few months, right? At least I certainly feel disappointment when I realize I STILL don't have that big garden I talk about all the time.Of course, when you've set yourself a big (and exciting!) goal, it's normal that you don't achieve success overnight. Part of the whole thing is also the journey towards it. But still, it'd be nice if that journey took place on the motorway and not on the sidewalk. So, frustratingly as it might be, I thought it would be helpful to discuss some ideas on how to counter these thoughts, to give some practical strategies to prevent yourself from giving up on your dreams. That's what today's episode of the Financial Harmoney Podcast is all about. After listening to this episode you'll know:The 5 things to remember when you feel frustrated about the speed of your journey Why slow growth can also be an advantageHow we tend to overrate the end goal and ways to help you avoid doing soI've also created a really helpful worksheet that will guide you through applying these 5 tips to one of your slow going goals too. I hope you have, as making a bit more money can be very exciting!
And - if you are honest - have you also noticed that after a few months of making more money that you're not really too sure how you're actually spending that extra money?
Where is that money going? If it's not left over at the end of the month or going straight into a savings account, then what is happening with it?
If this sounds familiar then you have likely experienced lifestyle inflation. This is a process in which you (often subconsciously) upgrade your life little by little by paying for a better or newer product or experience than you were willing to pay for before.
Now don't get me wrong: in my opinion Lifestyle Inflation isn't necessarily bad! But I do think it's wise to recognize how you might be experiencing it and to take a more proactive approach towards it, so that you can make sure your money habits are aligned with your short-term and long-term goals.
And that is exactly what this episode of the Financial Harmoney Podcast is all about!

But nowadays I realize it's not always that simple So whilst I still don't think that money = happiness, I have become to realize that money can certainly help create conditions that make it far easier to be happy than if those conditions weren't met.Having stress because you can't pay your bills or because you're drowning in debt certainly doesn't help if you want to experience more happiness. And of course, I think most people need more than just money in order to feel happy. BUT money can certainly help making it a little easier to find happiness. Maybe you already knew that. Or maybe you don't agree. (And that's okay too, I'm just giving you my opinion!)But regardless of what you believe about money & happiness, in this episode of the Financial Harmoney Podcast I dive further into this topic. So if you'd like to know more about how to experience financial happiness, this episode is for you! After listening to this episode you'll know:The 4 key financial ingredients I think are important to find financial happiness. What those 4 key elements would need to look like in order for you to feel happy.Your overall individual happiness level picture, so that you can start working towards achieving it.If you're ready to discover your own financial happiness level, then you might also want to download your free worksheet here so you can follow along with the episode and discover your 4 key ingredients to financial happiness.

Can you believe we're halfway into 2021 already? It's about 6 months ago you would have set your goals for this year - if you tend to set goals around 1st January of course - and the good news is: you've still got 6 more months to reach those goals or to get back on track if you've gotten off track a little bit. Or maybe it's time to readjust some of them so that you don't need to ditch your goals altogether?I'm a huge fan of setting goals, but I'm almost a bigger fan of doing a mid-year review of those goals to help me evaluate my progress and make sure I don't feel I've wasted a whole year. Especially if by now some of my goals haven't received that much attention yet.In this episode I discuss my 10 step process to doing a mid-year review of your goals, and now is a great time to do so as we're about to go into the second half of 2021. You can download a free worksheet to follow along with the 10 steps here. It happened to me just a week ago: I logged into my bank account and saw several big amounts of money had come out of our joint account. I hate it when this happens, even if the charges are 100% legit: our life and home insurance in this case, which we pay for twice a year.
In the past this used to freak me out as I was never quite prepared for this, but over the years I've developed my own way to actually deal with this in a pre-planned, organized way. So that even if the bills come as a surprise (which tends to happen as I'm never super aware of when exactly we get charged), at least I know I can actually deal with the expenses, both financially and emotionally.
Because here's the thing: if you're not prepared financially, that often means there'll be an emotional repercussion too. That can be stress from not having enough money, to disappointment about having to take the money from something else, such as a long-term savings goal or family outing.
In this episode I share different strategies with you that will help you be fully prepared for your irregular expenses that come up from time to time but that you might forget about on a monthly basis.

Way back when, when I first became interested in personal finance, I very much felt on my own. I did't know many people who were open about money, who were happy to speak about financial dreams or who were excited about the possibility of dreaming bigger. There was even a time when I felt ready to start investing in the stock market, but I didn't feel comfortable telling anybody about this. Investing was for rich people after all, wasn't it? And wasn't I just going to lose all the money I put into it? Self-doubt and inexperience meant that I didn't feel ready to face critical comments, so I decided to keep things to myself for a long time. But that felt lonely. I felt bad and guilty for wanting to upgrade my lifestyle. For wanting more. For dreaming about a house with a huge garden. For feeling excited about the prospect of making more money. And that made me doubt my journey. And it just wasn't as much fun to be doing this all on my own.If you ever feel lonely, or guilty about your dream or insecure about how to move forward because of other people's opinions or (probably well-meant) comments, then I've got just the podcast episode for you. I speak about my own experience and I give you tips on how to deal with this and keep moving forward. After listening to this episode you'll know:That it's okay to not always share everything with everybody if you're still unsure My 7 tips on how to keep going even if others around you aren't "getting it" or don't "dream big".How getting started anyway will help you shift your mindsetMake sure to also get your free cheat sheet with the 7 tips here. – This will help you stay on track, even if you feel "alone".Give the episode a listen here, or on Apple Podcasts or Spotify.

Sometimes I look back at my personal finance journey and wish that somebody had told me to get serious about my money a LOT earlier. But as much as I'd like to fantasize about how much money and financial security I could have had, there is really no point dwelling on this, as it won't help me in any way.
As the saying goes: The best time to start was yesterday. Failing that, the second best option is to start today.
So if you ever feel behind, or feel it's too late now, I encourage you to get started anyway. Your future self will be immensely grateful for it.
In this episode I look at when you should start getting serious about money and I answer the question of how much money you need in order to get started. (Spoiler alert: start now! Don't wait another day. Time is the most powerful factor when it comes to building wealth).
I also highlight different options to use your money in order to create financial freedom: by saving, contributing to a retirement account, investing in the stock market, paying off debt, giving to charity and by investing in yourself.

How much money you might save or create by using different strategies. 4 ways you can capitalize on the power of time, even if you're starting "late". 4 Tips to get started straight away.

Do you allow yourself to pursue your dream? Or are you holding yourself back? Whether it's obligations you have, the security you feel now or a belief that there is so much you should be grateful for already, that it seems selfish to want to have more...
In today's episode, here are some of the questions I address when it comes to pursuing your dream life:
Who am I to pursue a dream life? Who am I to want more than I already have? Who am I to think that I can do what people much more successful than me have done?
Here's my question for you: Why not? Why wouldn't you pursue your dream life? Why wouldn't you be allowed to follow your passions more? If others can do it, why couldn't you do it? Why wouldn't you let yourself feel the energy and passion by allowing yourself to dream big and pursue your dream?
Here is the thing: those other people aren't anything special either. They too started from 0. They too might have doubted their own abilities. They too might have not felt very secure of themselves either. They too might have had a partner or a family who didn't fully "get it".
You know that you won't get any closer to your dream if you don't allow yourself to dream, right?
When you allow yourself to pursue your dream life and allow your passions into your life, I know you'll not just feel happier yourself, but you'll also be more positive, energetic, patient and loving with your loved ones. Others might even directly benefit from your dream: a bigger house, more money, a charity you'll give more to.
And remember: if you don't create your own dream life, nobody else will do it for you either.
Listen to today's episode to find out how to overcome your own objections when it comes to starting your dream life.

Download the 8 Stages to Financial Independence Summary Sheet
Financial Independence - it's a real buzz phrase these days. But what I don't like about it is that Financial Independence (or FI), often feels like a dichotomy: either you are financially independent or you aren't.
I'm never a big fan of the yes / no, black / white, in / out, successful / unsuccessful way of presenting a concept. It makes it hard to see your own progress towards a goal as you're either "there" or not.
I LOVE a concept being broken break down into smaller steps however! Now that makes it easier to see your own evolvement as you move from one phase to the next, it allows you to set clearer goals AND it makes the whole journey much more exciting! Instead of feeling you've still got years (or decades) to go on your way to becoming financially independent, if there are some in-between goals that you can work towards in the mean time, the process becomes ever so much more inviting!
Now, here's the good news: did you that if you imagine Financial Independence as a continuum, or a scale with gradations, that there are 8 different stages on that scale? (Spoiler alert: Financial Independence isn't actually the last stage! - There are two more stages you can get to after reaching FI.)
Pretty cool, right?
With those 8 stages, it becomes much more manageable to start your journey to FI, as there'll be lots of smaller steps to aim for on your way!
Episode 20 of the Financial Harmoney Podcast is all about the 8 stages of Financial Independence. I describe each one in detail and I've also made a handy reference sheet that you can download below if you want to have a super quick overview of the various stages.
Go check out the episode and find out which stage you're currently at AND which stage you'd like to get to within the next 10 years.

Freebie: Ways to Create More Joy and Happiness in Your Life
Imagine waking up every single day with the energy and passion to get started with the day. No more snoozing or dragging yourself out of bed, but a feeling of excitement about the day ahead and to get started with whatever you’ve got on that day.Sounds like a utopia? If that’s the case, I’d like to encourage you to check out today’s episode of the Financial Harmoney Podcast, where I talk about ways to incorporate more joy and fun in your life. As isn’t that what we’re all after? To live a happy, fullfilling and good life? One of the best ways to create more happiness is by seeking out more fun, incorporating more moments when you can experience joy, excitement, passion or a sense of "being in your flow". As a financial mentor I am all in favour of creating more moments of joy. Without it, the big financial goals you set become much harder: you forget about the journey and focus on just the end goal. But it's so important to enjoy the journey. Most of our time is spent on the journey and not on the end goal. As when we reach a goal, we’ll just set ourselves a new one. The happier you are now the more likely you’ll be to continue to strive for that big goal.In today’s episode I discuss four strategies to seek more joy in your life:identify what gives you energyknow what you love at worklook for happiness inside yourself, don’t wait for others to “make you happy”define your dream life and take a step towards it every day.If you would love to have more fun in your life and create more happiness, then you definitely want to check out this episode and download the accompanying worksheet to implement more moments of happiness in your life.

What is success? Have you ever wondered about the definition of success? Or more specifically: what success means to you? Do you have a clear picture of what a successful person looks like? And does this picture of success differ depending on who you’re thinking about? Have you every allowed yourself to define the meaning of success for YOU?
In this episode I invite you to think about your definition of success and redefine success for you, so that it becomes a live, personalised concept that you yourself can shape to whatever you’d want it to mean.
And where most people also have negative associations with success (such as: people who are successful always work 60+ hours, they have no time for their family or they live an unhealthy lifestyle), I’d like you to challenge those ideas and stop taking for granted that success requires sacrifices or unhappiness. Because that wouldn’t exactly be success then, would it?
Apart from the general concept of success, I also discuss:
financial success, career success, family success, success in terms of your health, success with regards to your physical environment, ánd relationship success.
If you’re ready to discover what your own road to succes looks like, make sure to check out today’s episode AND it’s corresponding worksheet, with all the prompts you need to guide you to your own outline of success. Episode 14 - TranscriptHey hey and welcome to another episode of the Financial Harmoney Podcast. This is episode number 14: cultivating a growth mindset. And thank you so much for tuning in to this episode, and I am very excited to have you here again and to be talking about growth mindsets. As you might know, cultivating a growth mindset I believe to be such an important prerequisite for achieving the successes that you are looking for. If you don’t actually believe that you are going to be successful or achieve your goals, then how in the world are you actually going to be able to do so..? So really, the first part of setting yourself up for success is all centered around having the right mindset. And that is what I am going to want to look at today with you. And in particular I want to talk about a growth mindset, what it is, and how it can help you get to where you really want to get to! So let’s dive right in and look at mindset in more detail. So your mindset is the way you think about something, and in this context to be more specific it is about your belief in your own ability to achieve a certain goal. Now the way you think about this and even the goal you set for yourself tells you a lot about your own mindset. This becomes obvious in the way that you think about it, the way that you talk about it to yourself and the way that you talk about it with others too. And that in turn determines your decisions and your action plans and then your next goals. And that becomes like a continuous development that can take you super far down one road or the other, depending on that mindset. So let me give you an example to make this a little bit more tangible. Let’s say that .. let’s see… that your goal is to set up your own business, okay that a good one to start with. Okay so you want to set up your business. Now imagine that somebody asks you: “What are your goals for the next year?”, and you say: “I want to set up my own business”. Then that might spark some conversation and interest, but let’s compare it to another answer that you could give if you said: “I am going to set up my own successful business”. Wow can you see how this is already so much more powerful? So instead of “I want” you’re already saying “I’m going to”... set up a business, and you’re not actually just going to set up your own business, but you're going to set up your own business that will be successful. Sounds much more powerful and much more of a commitment than wanting to set up your own business. I’d say that the person making that second statement will be much more likely to set up a successful business than the first person. So the way you talk about it to others and to yourself can have a huge impact on your outcome in terms of achieving your ultimate goal. I want to set up my own business and I am going to set up my own successful business. So your mindset starts with yourself, it is how you first dream about something you want to achieve,
Episode #13 - What Will Your Retirement Look Like? Have you ever wondered what you retirement will look like? Have you actually pictured what you'd be doing by the time you're old enough to step out of your job and begin a new stage of your life? I hope that when you think about your retirement, you think of lots of exciting stuff you'll be doing. Traveling to a country you've always wanted to visit, starting a new hobby, spending lots of time with your family or maybe learning something completely new, like a language or a new degree. Whatever it is you'd love to do when the time comes, there might be one detail you don't know. And that is whether you'll have enough money for all of those dreams? Episode 13 - TranscriptHello and welcome to another episode of the Financial Harmoney Podcast. This is episode number 13: What will your retirement look like? So I want to start today asking you to close your eyes for a moment and fast forward to when you are of retirement age. That used to be 65 in many countries, and I think the UK until very recently still had it at an even lower age than that for women, but the official retirement age is now gradually increasing in many different countries around the world. So it might now be 67 or 68 and who knows by the time you reach retirement age, it might well be 70 for all we know. But regardless of the exact age, I’d like you to think about you being retired for a moment and picture what you’d be doing then. Will you be spending lots of time with your children or grandchildren? Will you be travelling the world? Will you be joining a golf club or start a new hobby? Or will you start another degree at university, this time just for fun? Or sip cocktails next to your holiday pool 2 months a year? Learn another language? Write a memoir? Haha there is so much to do really! I’d say these options might make for a fairly nice retirement, providing you are healthy and have your loved ones around you of course. But there is another scenario possible, let’s go and picture that one for a moment. The one where you can’t actually retire because you don’t have enough money to do so. The one where maybe some of your friends get to do all the fun stuff that I described just now, because they did invest in their retirement throughout their life. The one where you don’t get to see much of your grandchildren because you can’t retire as you need to pay for your bills. The one where you feel tired and unmotivated as you’re still working your socks off now you’re well into your 70s! This is a really sad visualization and one that I hope will not become a reality for you at any point, which is why in today’s episode I want to talk about retirement and retirement planning. This is something so super important but, if you’re like me, you might never have learned about any of this in school or at any other point in your life. You will likely need to go and do some research yourself. Well I hope to help you with that research a little and get you started to make sure that you are on track with your retirement plan and goals. And if you’ve never ever looked at this before,

Hello and welcome to another episode of the Financial Harmoney Podcast. This is episode number 12, with 5 common mistakes not to make when creating your dream life. And I felt inspired to record this episode as I am currently working on my online course, which I’m sure I’ll tell you more about at some point, but there I am looking at common obstacles to achieving goals. So this is part of my online course, but I thought it was so valuable that I wanted to share some of it here with everybody and not just with my online students.
So back in 2018 I was working on my very first book - the 100 Steps to Financial Independence - , that was published towards the end of that year. And I really loved the process of writing that book, just the whole thing of writing and then working together with my editors and designer.. it was just really great fun. So when I got to the last stages of getting everything ready to have the book published, I could already see myself doing that long-term. And with doing that, I mean living the writer’s life. That to me included working from home, getting up really early to write, fleshing out ideas, doing research. It just sounded like a lot of fun. And I thought: hey why wouldn’t I make this into a full time career? I realize it was a bit presumptuous of course as I had no idea whether that book was going to be well-received. And even more so, I was running my own language school together with my husband, well, I still am, so it was all a bit … well not very thought out to say that I was just going to be a writer. But in my mind I could already picture myself doing that. But anyway that was my dream and I saw lots of exciting possibilities there.
Now, as you might know, that dream didn’t become a reality. Partly because it has since morphed into a more developed version of my early stage vision, but also because there were quite a few things that I should have done differently at the time to make that dream come true. And now, more than 2 years later, I have really spent a lot of time on analysing everything and I have come up with 5 mistakes that I made and that I believe to be very common when it comes to pursuing your dream and creating the life that you want to live. So that’s what I am going to go over in this episode and I know it will give so much value to you so I think I can help you avoid making some of these mistakes and hopefully help you jumpstart your journey to creating that dream life.
I quickly want to go over what exactly I mean with a drea...

Read the transcript Hello and welcome to another episode of the Financial Harmoney Podcast. This is episode number 10: How these 4 emotions can stop you from achieving your goals. In today’s episode I’m going to have a closer look at what some common emotions are that we experience when it comes to money, and what the best way is to deal with them to make sure that they don’t impede our progress. As much as we like to distinguish between logic and emotion and believe that we can make decisions purely based on reason and knowledge without being influenced by our own feelings and sentiments, we are influenced by our emotions a lot more than you might think. The field of emotions is a fascinating part of our human minds, and as they have such a big impact on our daily lives and decision making, I wanted to dive into this topic more and uncover some common emotions that you too might have experience with, and talk more about how to become aware of these emotions, with the ultimate goal to make sure we don’t let them stop us from reaching our dreams and our goals. Just a heads up that this episode has once again a free download you can get in the show notes on ingenataliehol.com/episode10 where you can find a quick list and all the tips of what I am going to talk about today in a document you can download for free. So let’s start at the beginning, which is why emotions have such a big influence on our behaviour and decision making. As a trained neuropsychologist, I am going back to my roots here for a moment and talk a little bit about how our mind works, but don’t worry I’ll try and keep this as simple as possible. Our human brains essentially consist of three main parts. The first one is our brain stem. This is our most fundamental part of our brain and it controls most of our automatic functions. Think about breathing, our heart rate, our body temperature control and our sleep cycles. Our brain stem is at the base of our brain and is directly connected to our spinal cord that sends messages up and down our body. The second part of our brain is our cerebellum. This part of our brain is positioned just above our stem and is principally responsible for such things as movement, muscle coordination and balance.

If you listened to the previous episode, you might remember how I defined Financial Harmony. And if you didn’t, then I’ll tell you now: You find Financial Harmony when you:
Pursue your BIG dream life and feel excited about it; Align your personal finances and habits with those dreams, so you can direct money towards creating that dream life; Find the right balance – i.e. harmony – in your short-term as well as your long-term goals, so that you know how you want to spend your time, money and energy!
Sounds like a lot to ask maybe? In this episode I’ve broken this process down into 6 steps. After listening to this episode you’ll know:
Which 4 key priorities to focus on (your 1 BIG dream as well as 3 current focus points). How to plan in these priorities on a week-by-week basis. How to identify real saboteurs as well as fake ones. Your biggest saboteur when it comes to pursuing Financial Harmony.
