Or when a child is molested, a baby born with defects, or when people reject the gospel, or an elderly person is attacked and beaten by a gang of teenagers do you ever consider that it might be because of the presence of a menacing presence of an evil prince over a region?

In this sermon series we are celebrating the risen Christ by looking at Jesus’ death as a sacrifice. Thinking about Jesus’ death can make us feel squeamish because of all the blood that is involved with sacrifices. Or, maybe the whole concept of sacrifice feels barbaric to you so it may be hard to except his sacrifice or to want any part of it. But Jesus’ death is life changing for us. This series will help us move beyond a narrow view of Jesus’ death by looking at four aspects of his sacrifice. Our hope is that you will see how Jesus’ death can change your life.

View Details

The very word “sin,” which seems to have disappeared, was once a proud word. It was once a strong word, an ominous and serious word. . . . But the word went away. It has almost disappeared—the word, along with the notion. Why? Doesn’t anyone sin anymore? Doesn’t anyone believe in sin? – Karl Menninger

As we prepare to celebrate the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ, we will look at the genealogy of Jesus from Matthew. Sounds boring? Maybe, it does, but I assure it will be exciting as you learn things about Jesus and his ancestry that you had never noticed (mostly because we just skip over those verses when we read.) But those verses are in the Bible for a reason and they have a wonderful place in the story of the birth of Jesus Christ. First century readers would have been surprised to see the inclusion of four women in the genealogy - it was a patriarchal society after all! So we will focus on these four women and our sermon series is titled, "What is She Doing Here?"
