Christ told the Apostles the most difficult thing He ever had to tell them...that He was leaving. But He promised He would send the Helper to guide them the rest of the way until His return.
Jesus was the only one who was able to act as the Passover Lamb. From Exodus to Revelation, Jesus is identified and verified as our Passover Lamb, sent to us without spot or blemish, to act as our Savior.
Jesus shared meals with His disciples daily, but some instances were more significant than the rest. Yet there are other meals Jim notes in the Bible from as far back as the time of Abraham, but these are not communion as we know it.
How did the the sacrifice of the time of Exodus look? What did it mean? What were the sacrifices the Hebrews performed for their worship of the Almighty God YHWH? How do we sacrifice today? Better yet, DO we sacrifice today?
Have righteous anger, but do not sin!

God uses Moses to confront the Egyptian gods in order to deliver the people from Egypt and to let the Egyptians know who the true and living God really is. He will bring judgment on the gods of Egypt.
What would you give up in order to have eternal life with Jesus? You need to decide now which way you will go to attain that heavenly reward.

Moses had objections to God's plan.
Objection 1: Who am I?

Every age seems to be headed towards the predictions of the Final Days. Yes, we are moving towards that, but not necessarily at the rate some people have predicted. Only the Lord knows when and where He will return and at that time, we must be ready. Are YOU ready?

What does it mean when we say one must look at past prophesy to understand future prophesy? Mark talks about the Second Coming of Jesus to warn them they'll not have much warning at the end of time.

Jesus shows the Scribes and others how big He is by asking the question about David's confusing Psalm 110:1 "The Lord says to my lord: “Sit at my right hand until I make your enemies a footstool for your feet.” Jesus shows them how much bigger He is!
This is the time of the birth of Moses and his early days. Moses faced challenges right from his birth.

Jesus encounters a group of Sadducees who do not believe in the Resurrection, or crossing over into heaven, after death. They only believe what is written in the Pentateuch (first 5 books of the Bible). As such, they had assumed there was no resurrection. Pastor Pete tells us how Jesus showed them they were wrong.
An the eve of the week celebrating our national Day of Independence, Jim points out that we as Christians have an obligation to our government, just as it has to us.

Remaining faithful to God, Joseph presents a picture of how we should live a faithful life.
Bartimaeus was blind, but his belief was so great that he persisted in calling for Jesus until he was heard.

David didn't follow Pastor Jim's rules for a happy marriage, but you can. Here they are:
1) Remove Compromise and Commit to Christ
2) Forgive the Things that happened in the past
3) Talk through reasonable ways to express love for each other for whatever season you're currently in.
4) Spend Time Together! It doesn't have to be elaborate, but simple time together is important for a healthy marriage.
5) Treat each other like you did when you were trying to win the other over.

Marriage is so important to our life on earth, so much so that God made it one of the first things in creation. Genesis 2 tells us so in Vss 23-24.
Jacob, struggled against God to gain his birthright, he created unnecessary conflict in his life with his scheming. He didn't surrender to God, but had he surrendered to God, he would have made his life a lot easier and better.

How authentic was the forgiveness you gave to the last person who hurt you? Did you first talk to them? Did you check out the facts? Or, like David, were you quick to believe and respond in anger based on what is probably and untruth. There is a great lesson to be learned here.
Mark makes a point of telling us that Jesus wants servants, not superstars. Nate tells us we come to church to be equipped as a servant.
Jesus Pursues, Jesus Restores, Jesus Sends
Bryan explores the statements of Jesus to Peter in John 21 as He (Jesus) commands Peter: 1) "Follow Me" ; 2) "Feed my Sheep" ; 3) "What is that to you?"
God's great forgiveness is wonderful news but we must also heed the warning that comes along with it. Sin, even forgiven sin, has consequences.

Jim jumped to chapter 11 because of Palm Sunday. Jesus' triumphal entry into Jerusalem on a stolen donkey's colt was prophesied in the old testament.
Garrett gives a testimony to his difficult life, but now has surrendered to Jesus. Then Pastor Cummins talks about walking through life's difficult times. Two men from different backgrounds but delivering a similar message: no matter how difficult your life is at the moment, it would be more difficult if you were not walking with Jesus in your heart! Come have a real relationship with Jesus!
The Old Testament has such great stories about walking in faith and despite failures in the lives of those people the God of the OT was faithful to them nonetheless. When David fell he always turned back to the Lord. God is not looking for perfection, but to someone who will return to HIM when we fall away in sin.

The final section of Abraham's Story tells of the death of Sarah, and the establishment of the tombs of the prophets.
We expect everything without waiting for it. Amazon can deliver AirPods in a matter of days (although, not always when they promise them), but Salvation takes waiting on the Lord. Follow Kristie as she explores the Mercy that David knew that came from the LORD.
Two seemingly separate miracles, but with ancient prophetic roots and modern applications.
God promised Abraham a large progeny, but after giving him a son God tests Abraham's faith by telling him to sacrifice his only son. Of note, this is the first time in the Bible the word "love" is used. Abraham bows to the will of God, even not knowing what will happen on the mountain.
Definition: hermeneutics [plural in form but singular or plural in construction]: the study of the methodological principles of interpretation (as of the Bible).
Jonathan and David had a deep and abiding friendship despite difficulties setting obstacles in their way. This study is set up as an overview of these chapters about the story of their long, loving friendship.
Jesus traveled great distances in order to save many souls who were in danger of eternal damnation. Why did he do this? The distance to Tyre was around 40 miles, more than a days' trek in those days.
In a repeat of his actions in Egypt, Abraham puts his wife in the precarious position of being taken by another man. Abimelek gets confronted by God. God wants people to follow His righteous ways, not their sinful worldly ways.

David's everyday faithfulness as a shepherd boy is just as important as his extraordinary faithfulness in defending Israel against the Philistine giant.
God prepares our hearts and trains our feet in the quiet parts of our life, developing us, so as we pass through difficulties we have a steady gaze on God’s faithfulness and sovereignty.

Abram believed the Lord, and He was his shield. God promised him a family that would be as many as the stars in the heavens.

Regardless of who we are individually, we all are lost at some time and need a little (or a lot) of help. Jairus recognized that he needed Jesus' help to save his daughter. The woman with the issue of blood recognized that only Jesus could help her with her problem. Actually, they both needed Jesus' help to heal and save their souls! They were both being BOLD in going against the "norms" and asking Jesus for help.
When Abraham left Ur and arrived in Canaan, God said He would give him THIS land. God promised him several times about a land, descendants and a blessing. God made a covenant with Abraham that would ensure the perpetuation of his house and that the Messiah would come from his seed.

God calls us throughout history to return to Him. He calls us out of our worldly culture, to rise above it, to a lifestyle that God intends for us. FAITH is a SOLID foundation upon which to navigate life!

The apostles didn't understand Jesus' parables, so they asked Him to explain, and He did. Getting the knowledge from Him rather than guessing was to their benefit. Without His explanations, they never would have guessed what He meant.

How relevant is Genesis in the world we're living in today? These chapters address racism and globalism, two very prominent issues in our world today. The Bible is more relevant to our world today than ever before!
At the New Year many of us make "resolutions" regarding things we want to change or improve within ourselves. Jim points out that we make them by ourselves and for ourselves. We each have things we want to change, but some never do. This coming year resolve to be like the seed fallen on good ground...listen to the Word of God. It will 1) make us stronger, 20 give us direction, and 3) transform our lives in the way God wants us to be.

Antediluvian - that period of time before the Great Flood. Noah proclaimed the message of salvation, but men didn't listen. So, God declared He would destroy the earth, but "Noah found Grace in the eyes of the Lord". This is a story teaching of what will be coming...judgment from God for our sinfulness.
The Jews accused Jesus of being satanic, but He reminded them that a house divided can not stand.

When Jesus came to earth, He was a radical person. He challenged the Pharisees and changed so many things they had held on to for so many years. Now He brings this New Thing to them and they can't seem to grasp it. But His apostles do, and they make it flourish with His help into the church of Jesus Christ. No one in history has done that before or after Him. Praise the Lord!
The War Within; The War Without.
Looking back at Eden, we look at where the problems of the world began with the war of good versus evil.
How a tax collector named Levi encounters Jesus and immediately changes his name, his life, his purpose for being. Unlike Lot's wife, there was no looking back for Matthew. Not only did he follow and never look back, but he purposed his life to REACH OUT to others for the remainder of it. Also, he wrote the most influential message that's ever been written...it has changed the face of humanity and is the most powerful work of literature ever recorded.
Exposing the Devil for what he is, is the topic for tonight. Jim starts in Genesis 2 with the creation of man. But who is this character we came to know as the Serpent?

Addressed to Gaius, a pastor of one of the churches in western Asia Minor (modern day Turkey), this letter was from John to commend Gaius for supporting traveling teachers. He was a person known for his "prosperous soul".
In the example of the lame man lowered through the roof of the house, we see the power and authority of Jesus. Our sins are obstacles to being in step with Jesus. He has forgiven our sins by blotting out, not remembering, removing, casting out all of them. Ask yourself what obstacles your family/friends had to overcome to bring you to Christ?

Love is a main theme of 1 John. Testimony of Jesus is a foundation of our belief, and Prayer is our way to talk to Jesus and thank Him and ask Him to guide us.
Jesus begins his ministry by proclaiming a simple message, “The Kingdom of God is at hand. Repent and believe in the gospel.” It is a simple message, but it is the fulfillment of all human expectation since the fall in the Garden of Eden. Jesus also enlists human participation in the advancing of the kingdom of God and the spreading of this good news.
Jim presents an interesting and revealing overview introduction of the book of Genesis.
The Apostle John, while incarcerated to the isle of Patmos (a Roman penal colony), encountered Jesus in a vision that is recorded here. This book is the final book of the Bible and will be covered in three parts due to the large amount of information in it.
2John was written to a small church, in an undisclosed location, that was under attack by false teachers, who did not believe what the Bible taught regarding the person and the work of Jesus. This false teaching, if left unchecked, would undermine the faith of the people and stop the spread of the Gospel.
Big question: Is truth relative? YES. Is truth subjective? YES
This one verse reveals the secret to salvation is through fellowship with Jesus Christ. It is not a static thing, but a process of learning to walk as Jesus walked. It is the Plan of God to constantly move forward towards this end. Jim explains the sharing of the encounter with God that the Apostles and saints had, and that we also may have.
John wrote the Gospel of John, three epistles (1, 2, 3 John) and Revelation. He wrote approximately 20% of the New Testament, nearly as much as Paul (25%) and Luke (27%). (Mark and Peter each wrote about 10%, leaving the final 8% to Jude and the writer of Hebrews.) It is a book of imperatives telling the reader what is required to "abide in Christ" and what NOT to do.

Peter wrote to tell the faithful to be fruitful in growth in their faith. He also alerted them that he was soon to die (...shortly I must put off my tent), and asked they remember him after his death. Peter talks about it in this letter to the believers throughout Asia (present day Turkey). Note the references to the serpent throughout the Bible.
Written to Christians living in conflict with their culture. Does that sound familiar? As we follow Jesus we will have conflict in our lives. We are foreigners in a foreign world.

Called the Proverbs of the New Testament, there's much to learn in James that has practical application. James was the actual leader of the believers in Jerusalem. He wrote this letter to the former members of the church in Jerusalem to bring them back into the fold of the church body. It takes doctrine and presents them in practical form.

Author unknown, this book is not named, but is one of the general epistles, written to Jewish believers and was probably named "Hebrews" (aka Exhortations) in the 2nd Century AD. The author states it is of few words (13 chapters is few?) and is designed to "lift you up", build you up and stir you up. It is authored during the lifetime of Timothy, so before 97 AD. And as there is no reference to the temple destruction, it was obviously written prior to 70 AD. Many ascribe it to Paul, but there's no proof.

Starting with creation God has given us everything and called it good! He created marriage, which He called good. But, due to sin, the relationship between God and the first married couple soured. It continued and eventually God had to intervene. But by the Work of the Holy Spirit we are all part of the body of the church. Most of all Christ loves the church.
Pastor Zak explains that being Rooted in Christ means to go further to be Built UP in Christ. Having a firm foundation is the start, but one must then continue building upon that foundation.

The most quoted and well-known verses of the Bible is "love one another". John outlines in this letter to the church throughout the Roman empire what that really means. Chased as a youth, hated as a husband, despised as a father, David led a difficult life. Through it all he kept faith in God as the ultimate authority. Psalm 61 reflects what David felt in his most utter times of grief and despair, and God led him through it because he trusted in God!
Jesus questions Peter on the beach the morning they gather for breakfast after the resurrection. He asks three times if he loves Him, and he answers yes. But it's the number of questions that is significant, looking back at John 18 and Peter's denial three times the night before Jesus was crucified.
Paul writes in this passage that we should seek, not to be elevated above our present station, but to be humbled into service for Him and His Kingdom. In doing so, we need to start with our brothers and sisters in the church body and make Jesus' life a template for our lives.
As Paul gets close to the end of his letter to the church at Philippi, he extols them to meditate on good things and do them. Paul uses imperative verbs to tell them what to do.
After two thousand years, the teachings found in this book are as relevant as they were when first penned by Paul. How a Christian lives out his life can be found in this letter that Paul wrote while incarcerated in Rome, written to a church in Macedonian town called Phillipi. Paul encourages them to continue their struggle to impact their world for the Kingdom of God.

Jesus is our source of joy. He created us in His identity. Through the Gospel you become an entirely new person. But, beware of those who want to add requirements to the Gospel that is not part of what Jesus taught.

Esteem and respect go with how Paul viewed his value of Timothy and Epaphroditus because they imitated the qualities exhibited in Christ.

How is your psyche (soul)? Are you troubled? Jesus struggled knowing His hour was near, yet He put it all in the hand of His Father in heaven. Can you do the same?
John's purpose in this reading is to convince us to believe in Jesus. He wants us to know that He is the Son of God, the Messiah, the True Vine from which the fruit of everlasting life grows.
God meets us in our needs every day. All earthly power can't match up to the power of the Holy Spirit. Prayer to the Holy Spirit of Jesus Christ yields the Supply we need.
This first epistle (letter) is written to the church in Rome, which Paul didn't start, but wrote to them to encourage and strengthen their faith in Jesus.
There are Seven I AM statements Jesus makes as He reveals Himself. Nate begins this new series with an introduction to them and looking at how wrong ideas about God can lead to wrong ideas about our identity.

Every story has a beginning and the birth of the Church began with twelve believers who made it grow. Without the Book of Acts one wouldn't understand the rest of the New Testament. It acts as a guide to the remainder of the New Testament.
Jesus told Nicodemus he had to be "born again" to enter the Kingdom of Heaven. Nicodemus didn't understand that Jesus meant a spiritual birth, but to emphasize how important it was Jesus told him some important truths. The most important one is found in John 3:16. See how he reacts when he's told all this.
We all know love exists, but to be "real love" it needs to be mature. Our love of God needs to be mature and centered towards Him, abounding in knowledge and discernment. Pastor Cheyne presents how Paul alerted the church to find Mature Love and not the worldly love of that day and this day, as well.

As Paul heads out on his mission work, he brings friends to help finish what was started.
Luke was a physician, an historian, and a companion of Paul who wrote this Gospel (book of Good News) and also the book of Acts of the Apostles. He documented the upheaval in the Roman Empire as Luke writes to Theophilus to help the Roman understand what is happening. Luke was known for writing Truth, presenting it in a Trustworthy way, and using it to Teach about Jesus.

Through the blind beggar of John 9 we see the works of God displayed physically and spiritually.
Jim continues in Matthew with the final command from Jesus recorded also in Mark. It tells the apostles and all who follow Him to go out into the world and do His work of teaching about God. Luke doesn't mention this, and John notes the command to Peter to "Feed My Sheep". However, it is said, we are compelled to spread the Good News of the Redemption provided to us by Jesus' death on the Cross. Praise Him!
Mark, at a rapid pace, tells the story of the Gospel (Good News) to the Gentile World and gives justification for these teachings.

The book of Joel looks at the future to the time of Jesus, but also to the time of His second coming! It comes with a promise of the "overflowing" outpouring of the Spirit on God's people.
Joel describes the effects of a massive swarm of locusts that have devoured Judah. The people are suffering and Joel uses this opportunity to call them back to the Lord, while warning them of a coming judgment at the hands of the Babylonians. Jacob was unwilling to do things God's way. He tricked Esau out of his inheritance, even though it would have been Jacob's had he only trusted in the Lord, God. Every step of the way he resisted, even when fighting the Angel sent by God to subdue him. It wasn't until Jacob finally surrendered to God that he changed from Jacob the supplanter/manipulator, to Israel the upright, retainer of God! Matthew 16:24-27 Then Jesus said to His disciples, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me. For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it. For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul? For the Son of Man will come in the glory of His Father with His angels, and then He will reward each according to his works.
John 12:24-25 Most assuredly, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the ground and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it produces much grain. He who loves his life will lose it, and he who hates his life in this world will keep it for eternal life.
Ari talks about bringing Jesus into your private life and how important that is for you to be spiritually filled to be pleasing to God! Like Paul we must be committed to God in our private life. We need to "learn to rest in Jesus"! Have Jehovah Shalom!
Holiness is found in the inner person. Jesus wants us to join Him in being Holy, in a desire for us to be closer to Him. Older women should teach the younger women principles of a Godly life. The Word of God needs to be the foundation of our lives.

Daniel was writing about being non-conformist to the worldly things. He wrote of things God told him that would happen in the future, which we have seen come to pass. Images of the fall of the Babylonian Empire, as well as the Persian, Greek and Roman Empires. He also mentions one more, which hasn't yet been manifested, even to our time.
There is NO question that there IS a God in heaven and He is good! Daniel knew it and was willing to stake his earthly life on that truth. Daniel's is a story of prophesy and trust.

Ezekiel's prophesies were of great significance to the Israelites in 605BC and they foretold of events in the near future, the future time of Jesus and of times beyond even that. God used Ezekiel to relay His message of a future for Israel and for us.
Sometimes serving on a mission for the Lord requires moving elsewhere, learning a new language or understanding a new culture to be able to relate the Gospel to non-believers. Ezekiel didn't have any of these, as his was a mission to his own people, yet it was an important mission to us.
The term "beside oneself" is akin to being crazy. They thought Paul was "beside himself" by wanting to return to the town where he was beaten and left for dead. But he did it for the people who beat him, as he knew they needed to be saved. Some might say he wasn't of sound mind, but he was. Pastor Jim discusses what this passage means to us in this day and age.

From Abraham through Moses to the Apostles there have been many people called to serve God in various ways and at various times. All mankind is accountable to God! His Word and His Law is universal! Isaiah is a book of comfort. Isaiah gives a detailed description of the Messiah. The Book of Isaiah is heavily evangelistic!
Jim delves into Chapter 53 as it is a prophetic account of the crucifixion of Jesus on the Cross. It is a story of rescue, redemption, restoration, and a prophetic portrait of the events of the Cross.

Nate discusses the teachings of the Teacher, Solomon, who was exceedingly wise. He sought the meaning of life "under the sun" and found that all was vanity. His conclusion was that without fearing God and keeping His commandments, there was no meaning to this life on earth. But Solomon found Hope. Nate discussed three main points: 1) there is a time for everything, 2) we need Eternity in our heart, and 3) God's actions affect us.

It is a society in which people are sincere, modest, self-controlled, temperate, reliable, chaste, willing to listen and learn. This Psalm concerns our Attitude and a Proper Posture for the believer. He asks God's forgiveness and healing of his sinfulness for his sins against God. But when confronted with his own sin, he repented and did not try to justify his sin. When our justification ends, God's forgiveness begins.
There is no magic "65" in the Bible telling us to stop. In fact, God asks a life long commitment to Him and to that end we must comply. Pastor Nick relates how this is relevant to us 2500 years later!

Esther is the one book in the Bible in which God is not specifically mentioned. However, it is obvious that He is very involved in the story of Esther, Mordecai and the Jews in Persia. He intervenes in a most ingenious way.
The Book of Esther occurs chronologically during the 60 years between Ezra 6 & 7. It is unique from other books by the fact that God is never mentioned by name, by title, nor prayed to, nor worshiped. Yet there is no other book that tells of the work of the hand of God in human affairs without mentioning His name. He is working covertly for His people. Truth 1: God is at work even when we don't see Him. Truth 2: The Bible has assured us God is going to care for you Truth 3: The Promises of God are unbreakable. Ezra was sent to "diagnose" or assess the condition of the people living in Jerusalem. Were they living in concert with the Law of God? Ezra wrote this book and it's part autobiography, part historical narrative. He is also thought to be the author of Chronicles, so the first half is a continuation of that historical work. It is the 15th book of the Bible and starts 70 years after Chronicles ends, and covers 80 years of history from there.
The Right Kind of Faith is: a Decision, a Direction, and about Distance. Nate discusses that with the Right Kind of Faith one has NO Favoritism, NO Selective Obedience, and there is NO Faith without Works to back it up.
50 years passed between the end of Chronicles and the start of Ezra. But much happened that is not recorded in those two books. Jim reviews the significant events of this time. During Solomon's reign there was an enormous investment in spiritual matters, including the building of the temple to the Lord. But these were also followed by times of strife and a nation divided.
Nate talks about how God declined David's offer of a temple, but gave him something better and longer lasting.
Zephaniah 1:12 “And it shall come to pass at that time That I will search Jerusalem with lamps, And punish the men Who are settled in complacency, Who say in their heart, ‘The Lord will not do good, Nor will He do evil.’
Jim reviews the second part of Kings detailing the rise and fall ten kings of four dynasties. They all ended up missing the point that they can't ignore the laws of God set down in the Bible.
God moved one man, Nehemiah, with compassion and moved him to do the work he wanted done. In these two chapters God moved on Nehemiah (and the heart of the people) to finally finish the wall.

If you are willing, God is able! God only asks for commitment…He will equip the believer. Nehemiah knew this and answered the call to rebuild the walls of the city.
Taking things out of context is like saying Pastor Pete hates pizza. God wants to work your life into what He needs you to do. Just ask the question "Lord, what do you want to do with me?".
We feel we can take care of ourselves better than Jesus? I think not! We are like sheep, following what others tell us to do or think, rather than following the guidance and safety of Jesus, our Good Shepherd.
Simon the pharisee invites Jesus to dinner. Jesus is attended to by a woman who washes His feet with her tears and dries them with her hair and anoints Him with a flask of ointment. Note: 1) she came before Jesus humbly, 2) she came before Jesus broken, 3) she came before Jesus boldly. (A) Nothing else mattered to her except being close to Jesus, (B). her worship of Jesus was bold because she demonstrative, (C) her worship was bold because it was costly.
The young rich ruler asked Jesus "Good Teacher, what good thing must I do to have eternal Life?" The answer is more complicated than one would think. And yet, it is straightforward. Nate dives into what seems to be an easy answer, but how would you react if Jesus told you what you must do?
Samuel is the final and finest of Judges. He learned to hear the voice of God. But also is the story of Saul and David. It has a star-studded cast, contains some of the Bible's most fabulous stories. It is filled with some very memorable verses. Also, this book is considered one of the books of the prophets, designed to provide instruction and warning for your lives. Chapters 1-8 focus on Samuel; Chapters 9-15 introduce Saul; Chapters 16-31 introduce David. Each of them are present during the subsequent chapters, but the focus changes from one to the next.
Nehemiah spent four months Waiting on the Lord, Working for the Lord, he Went to the Lord, he sought the Wisdom of the Lord, and he was able to Withstand opposition in order to do the Lord's plan.
The nation of Israel was spiraling downward and the Philistines were defeating them in battle. Why? Because they weren't listening to the Lord, their God. What they should have said was "Speak Lord, for your Servant Hears!"
The story of Ruth tells how Redemption is Needed (Ch 1), Provided (Ch 2), Assured (Ch 3) and Accomplished (Ch 4).
We have many parallels to the life of Nehemiah in our present day. We are called by God to have determination and persistence to carry his Word to the ends of the earth. The promise of redemption is the main part of our Faith in Jesus.
The story of Samson gives us examples of lost potential for what God intended for him. We need to look at our lives and see if we're living up to the potential of what God wanted for us! Like Samson, the call of God is directly related to our separation from the worldly things that prevent us from being close to Him. What is your potential that God is calling you to fulfill?

Israel failed to purge the land of Canaan of its previous inhabitants. They subsequently sinned, suffered, supplicated the Lord, and were saved by a deliverer! As you read the book, note the parallels between this and our current situation in the world.
Joshua and Caleb were the only spies (scouts) who said taking the Land of Canaan as the Lord ordered, was doable. What giants are keeping each of us from fulfilling God’s wishes for our lives? God is able, even when we aren’t! Joshua 13-18
Her we watch the nation of Israel live out the Torah, or Law (instructions from God through Moses). The Israelites will succeed and will fail at various times and levels. This is the first of twelve books telling the history of them. It tells of them entering the land, defeating their enemies, and occupying the land of Canaan
Pastor Rich talks about walks of faith. He uses The story of Elisha to illustrate how we must LISTEN to what is being said. SEEING isn’t enough.
As the final book written by Moses, it is a collection of sermons by Moses to the people before they entered the Promised Land. They were to remind the Hebrews of who the Lord, their God is, and how to praise Him.
In our in-depth study of the Bible, we see that Moses followed God's plan and laid down many prayers to God for the Hebrew people to use to praise God. The one prayer that is for the blessing of the people is this one. This prayer should be one that all have memorized.
Numbers is AWESOME! It is the story of the Hebrews travel through the wilderness, on their way to the Promised Land. It covers 38 years. It contains prophesy, discusses war and battle more than any other book in the Bible, gives a background for the rest of the Bible, gives many important lessons on spiritual living and describes Jesus in a way that the New Testament writers knew Him as the Messiah.

In a way, Exodus is a book of fulfilled promises, promises God made to His people. An abiding lesson of Exodus is that man is in need of a savior. So watch for the references to the coming Savior throughout the book.
