We give a voice to the voiceless, to those who can't or won't speak out for themselves. We speak up for the rights of all those who are poor and needy. These include people who are and have been sexually abused, who are and have been physically abused, who are suffering with addictions, who are in unhealthy relationships, who are bullied and are the bullies, who are suffering from mental illness, who are deemed by society as unloveable and who feel hopeless. Our social services are overworked and understaffed, so when people are being abused or are in difficult life situations, many times they feel they are not heard. Our program provides a platform for their voices, suggestions for the situations and hope for tomorrow. Often times a person just needs someone to listen. With the right understanding and by opening up to someone who has similar life experiences, one can see there is hope. Life doesn't have to end. You can embrace and trust someone one small step at a time.
Even the word “goodbye” has “good” in it. October 5, 2018 was our first “AbbaDaddy House Girls Speak Out” episode and January 10, 2020 will be our last. It was good for us to step out in faith in 2018 and to walk in faith each renewal contract period. We simply walked forward and watched God at work. But then, all good things must come to an end and it is now time. We shared our happiness and shared our sorrow. We’ve shared our hearts and it hurts to part. We don’t know you by your names. Yet, we know you. We love you and are blessed that you allowed us to be a part of your life one 60-minute segment at a time. Listeners, we are eternally grateful and thankful for each and everyone of you. Please join us one more time for a final 60 minutes.

At the age of 19,Joseph began serving a 30-year sentence for committing second degree murder with the possibility of parole after 10 years. He has served eight. Joseph was living in a mental state of condemnation for what he had done, and the guilt was overwhelming. Yet, Joseph didn’t want the ordinary prison life of gangs, drugs and violence so he sought something different. He found it in solitary confinement.

(3) Does the Bible say anything about celebrating the birth of Christ? If so, where? (4) Is Santa invited to the Royal Birthday Party? (5) If Christmas is such a joyous time of the year why are suicide and depression prevalent during the Christmas season and immediately following it? Join the conversation and the party!
Annette and Myrna are battling it out on Friday’s show. Do Superstition and Christian beliefs clash or coincide? Should a Christian practice superstition? Truth be known, Christians practice superstitions without even knowing it. Get real, how many of us have said, “God bless you” after someone sneezes! What’s so bad about that? You are simply asking God to bless them. But that phrase has its roots in superstitious beliefs. Consider Christians who wear crosses or have some Christian based symbol in their pocket, in their purse, on the dash of their vehicle or hanging on the walls of their house! Isn’t that a form of superstition? Aren’t they believing that that object can assist them in some way or another? Superstitions aren’t all adverse. When you find a lucky penny, you’ll have good luck! Your wish will come true when you wish on a falling star. Right? Plus people who believe in superstitions are happier and more productive. Join the Ladies as they banter over these topics.
The greatest challenge to William and Teresa’s 13 years of marriage came when the gavel pounded a guilty verdict. Witness after witness testified to Deputy Sheriff William's innocence. How could he be convicted of sexual contact with an inmate? Teresa believed in his innocence. There is no way he would dishonor their marriage vows. How would the family endure this adversity? The community in which she lives is the community who declared him guilty. Can she co-exist? How will they treat their eleven-year-old daughter? How long will William be in prison? How will I handle the first visit with him, the second, the third. . . ? How would he survive in prison? He was a former sheriff deputy, so he was a sure target. Would protected custody be a fortified safety measure? God, what are you doing in this?

William, a former deputy sheriff, was charged with sexual contact with an inmate. Even today William states he did not commit the crime even though he did the time. William served two years and three months in prison and remains on parole for 20 more months. Several times the justice system offered plea bargains which would have prevented him from being incarcerated or shortened his sentence. Each time William. He was not going to confess to a crime he did not commit. In prison, William started out in protective custody because of his prior vocation but then he asked to be put in general population (GP). There was an enormous chance that an inmate in GP was one William arrested. Why would a former deputy sheriff ask to be placed with all the other inmates? Why? He was a certain target!

1952, not a friendly era for a single mother who just found out she is expecting her second child. What’s a mother to do? Bio-mom lives in Oklahoma, the Bible Belt, adoptive parents live in Maryland, not the Bible belt. They had never met, never spoke until this petite bundle of love mysteriously joined them together, but only for an instant. The parents returned to Maryland. The bio-mom returned to live with a small void secretly tucked within her heart. Rhea shares her life experiences as an adoptive child and as a child and an adult searching for her birth parents. She carried that small void secretly tucked within her heart, too. Oh, what surprises await all of them!
George grew up in Michigan with his mom, little brother and a man he thought was his dad. But something just felt weird. So at the age of seven, George asked his mom, Is dad my real dad? Mom told him that he wasn't and that his real dad was not around.
During the years, George gathered information and at the age of 25, decided to write a letter to his biological dad. On the day of George's close maternal uncle's sudden death, he received a phone call. Hello, son. This is your dad. Listen to the show as the story unfolds.
Daily approximately 123 Americans die by suicide. One death in the U.S. by suicide occurs every 12 minutes. Yearly, 44,965 Americans die by suicide and worldwide, 800,000 people die by suicide. Globally, that results into one death every 40 seconds. (sav.org/about suicide)
What about the effects of suicide? It is fair to say that at least two people are impacted. Daily 246 fathers and mothers are informed of the tragic death of their child. Annually, in the U.S. there are 539,580 dads and moms who suffer the loss of a child and worldwide, there are 1,600,000. When you add other family members, friends, peers, co-workers the numbers soar. Death by suicide is not an isolated incident.
Marshal Adler knows first-hand the impact of suicide. On July 22, 2018 his 32-year-old son, Matthew took his own life. Marshal will share with us Matthew’s life and how his dream career was becoming a reality. He’ll also disclose a haunting conversation they had 13 days before his death.
In November of 2014, dad made some poor choices that resulted in separation from his wife and two daughters. The younger child was one and half years old. The older child was four years old. Even today, the barbed wire fences and armed guards keep the separation a constant reminder. Four hour road trip. A little over two hour segments of time divided into one visitation day. Sitting at the table with dad seated at all times. Hugs and kisses, tearful goodbyes. The cycle repeats itself dependent upon the condition of the car or the money for the trip or no lock downs at the prison or . . . . Lacey, Olivia and Peighton share how they have endured these past four years and eleven months. They'll also reveal their plans and dreams for the future. On the December 28th, 2018 show, Peighton closed the segment with, Never give up on your daddy. Never. And, they haven't.

Levi has been our guest on October 19, 2018 and July 12, 2019. In the first episode, he shared how God changed his life of crime and addiction to a life of freedom and peace. Levi continues to serve the Lord in prison by preaching, witnessing, praying with inmates, teaching Bible-based father classes. The Christian stand he takes, daily puts his life in jeopardy. In March, Levi presented a very thorough exit plan to the parole commission who denied him parole and told him to return in September with a new exit plan in a new district outside of the support that was outlined in the initial exit plan. It seems contradicting that rehabilitation is what prisons state is their main goal, and then when one exhibits rehabilitation, that person is refused parole. Oh, but God has a plan. On September 17th, Levi presented two more exit plans to the parole commission. Listen to the show as he shares why God gave him six more months in the penitentiary and when or if he has parole.
On September 13th two survivors of intimate partner violence were our guests. “I might be fat, ugly, stupid and worthless but even I don’t deserve this.” These were her thoughts as her spouse jammed a double barrel shotgun to her throat. The second guest recalls that years of abuse by the hands of men caused her to believe that is what she deserved. She was molested as a little girl, raped, sodomized, beaten, choked and had a rifle held to her head. Obviously, they both escaped the abuse and are now advocates for victims. Is name calling or constant criticism or demeaning remarks about the partner’s body or appearance abuse? How do you identify your abuse? What is a Safety Plan and how do I develop one? What do I say to my children for them to protect themselves? How do I get a protection order and what happens after I get one? Do I need a lawyer? We are going to share the nuts and bolts of intimate partner abuse and what you can do to break away from this unsafe environment.
Intimate Partner Violence (IPV). Domestic Violence. One of the same. Two survivors share their experiences of IPV.
IPV: Physical, sexual, or emotional abuse, as well as sexual coercion and stalking by a current or former intimate partner. An intimate partner is a person with whom you have or had a close personal or sexual relationship.
On average, 24 people per minute are victims of rape, physical violence or stalking by an intimate partner in the United States more than 12 million women and men over the course of a year. Nearly, 15% of women have been injured as a result of IPV that included rape, physical violence and/or stalking by an intimate partner in their lifetime. About 35% of women who were raped as minors also were raped as adults compared to 14% of women without an early rape history.
Internationally, Syria is the worst country for violence against women. Rape and torture in secret prisons, malnutrition, and gender-based violence is an everyday reality.
Ellen has less than six months to live. Lung cancer has metastasized to other body organs. She's scared about the dying process but not death itself. Ellen knows when her physical body breaths its last, her eternal body breaths forever. Ellen and Ray, her husband, will be sharing their fears, joys and challenges of living in Cancer Land.
In June, Marissa returned from a six month YWAM volunteer mission trip to New Zealand. (YWAM- Youth With a Mission International) She describes these intense months as unbecoming herself and becoming a daughter of God, the Father. She will share how being open to who God, the Father really is, her relationship with her biological father began to heal. She expresses how she had fun with God and talked with God by asking Him questions. He listens. He laughs. He accepts you just the way you are and you are significant to Him. Marissa describes God in three words which does not include love. Listen to the story of the miracle of sight God provided while in New Zealand through Marissas and a blind mans faith. Why are not mainstream Christians seeing this kind of miracles?

If the automobile industry can declare used vehicles as “Pre-owned,” then so can owners of thrift and second-hand stores regarding the goods they sale. Don’t think of it as a used washer. Think of it as a washer who was lovingly cared for and is now being passed on to the next family at a fourth of the original cost. Better to be in the second-hand store than in a landfill. Pre-owned stores feature furniture, large and small appliances, household items, tires, mowers, bicycles, and other pre-owned interesting stuff. Rectangles, triangles, circles, octagons- do these shapes mean the same throughout the world? Green, red, blue, white and black, yellow, orange- are they universal colors? What country has fluorescent pink signs? Think how shapeless and drab our world would be without signs- we're talking road signs. Hate to tell you this, but when you yell at the fresh oil and flying rock sign, it really doesn't care how spiffy your vehicle is. It is an equal opportunity contributor.
Butterfly Wonderland is the largest butterfly conservatory in America. It features a magnificent indoor conservatory that brings a tropical rainforest environment to the Arizona desert where 3,000 butterflies fly freely. Adriane Grimaldi who is the Director of Education, will be sharing insights and interesting facts related to the butterfly. One focus will be on the sharp decline of the Monarch Butterfly and how we can be an important part of conserving this gentle giant.
Background material on Muslims and their impact in the Christian realm was aired on July 5th. Part two discusses the difference between Islam's God and the God of the Bible. Did you know that Muslims respect the Bible which identifies Jesus as the Messiah but reject Jesus as the Messiah? Effective evangelism to Muslims is no different than evangelism to those who do not practice Islam. We'll share some pointers that will ease your anxiety and examine your own prejudices. It is not us/non-Muslims against them/Muslims. It is us, Bible teaching, Bible practicing Christians who need to shine the light of the Gospel into the darkness. Levi continues to serve the Lord in prison by preaching, witnessing, praying with inmates, teaching Bible-based father classes. The Christian stand he takes, daily puts his life in jeopardy. As an inmate, he has completed every required program and many self-initiated programs. Levi is walking the talk. He presented a perfect exit plan in March of this year to the parole commission who told him to come back in six months with another plan. It seems contradicting that rehabilitation is what prisons state is their main goal, and then when one exhibits rehabilitation, that person is refused parole.We will be talking with Levi about his prison ministry and the upcoming parole hearing. We pray that God will release him, even though man won’t.

AbbaDaddy Girls are on the road, in the air and have landed right smack in Phoenix, Arizona, the headquarters for VoiceAmerica. Robert, endearingly called, “Boss”, and Josh, our own private engineer/ technical guy, are our guests. Robert, our Executive Producer, has walked us through the last six months of internet radio affairs with his encouraging words, fervent suggestions, and awesome smile. Robert is the behind the scenes man who works diligently to get you on your feet and keep you going. Josh is not our own private engineer/technical person, but we have this rhythm. He has spoiled us so much that when he’s gone, we are lost and a little tense. He works hard to keep our noise to a minimum and the show to the highest quality. Josh is only a voice and we are so anxious to have a face to that soft gentle crisp voice. We appreciate Robert and Josh and want to introduce them to our listeners.

The world is not immune to this imprisonment. The thief is active in all humanity, killing, stealing and destroying wherever there is an open door. Painkillers and/or alcohol to methamphetamine to criminal justice system to the streets then back to meth to the criminal justice system to an attempt at sobriety then relapse, then back to the streets. . . . The addict experiences a tremendous reality of losing family, job, health, dignity and hope. The cycle continues until the person decides he/she is sick and tired of being sick and tired. Sarah will be sharing her account of this cycle and how she stepped out of it to become the assistant to the director of a women's transitional home.

How does a person do that? Why would anyone even want to give up his/her will to follow God blindly? Oh, there’s one more condition-you aren’t holding the flashlight- God is.
Annette and Myrna will be sharing personal experiences, triumphs and tragedies in their journey of pursuing God blindly. They’ll share when they left everything and everyone behind in Kansas to pursue God’s calling in Idaho. When God tells you to follow His flashlight beam, He is always faithful. Smoke alarms have two basic functions: (1) a way to detect smoke, (2) a way to alert people. It is that simple.
Now apply this to our lives. We have a built in alarm that detects our physical, mental and emotional smoke. Our body alerts us but many times we ignore the annoying beep, beep, beep, beep, beep. . . Sometimes we ignore it so badly that our battery is depleted by the repetitive warning signal.

Karen Millsap was 29 years old, when her life was suddenly flipped upside down. . . She became a widow when her husband, Richard, was tragically murdered. On the quest to rebuild her life, Karen discovered healthy habits and lifestyle changes that helped her find her way back to a whole heart.
Karen states that we are who we choose to become. No matter who you are. No matter what you've been through, despite your circumstances. Your life is your choice. You can become bitter or you can become better. The choice is yours. Don't quit on yourself. Fight back. Do the work.

Staff Sgt. Lawrence Jefferson remembers the morning of November, 2008 in Afghanistan, when “the whole world just went crazy. It was 7:30, and he was in a line of Humvees headed to the airport as the security escort for an U.S. official when a suicide bomber hit his humvee.
“It was like being hit with a sledge hammer and a shockwave. Stuff flew everywhere. Things turned to chaos. I could not see anything due to the smoke, dust and whatever else. I (had) tunnel vision.The entire left side of my body was numb from the concussion. I remember trying to hang on to get us to safety. I must have passed out at this time, because when I came to, I was sitting there in the driver's seat and the vehicle was stopped. I looked around to see if there was anyone there and if they were okay.” Rather than concern himself with his own injuries, he went to work providing comfort and aid to others who were more obviously injured.Jefferson suffered from a severe concussion and inner ear damage.

Bethany and Miriam were active members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints during their childhood. But then, their parents, through the calling of the Holy Spirit, accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. The girls continued to attend the LDS church but also attended Bible-Believing Churches who introduced them to the teachings of Christ. This raised questions and cracked the foundation of their LDS beliefs. Eventually, Bethany and Miriam replaced the Mormon teachings with the truth of the God of the Bible. They now take the teachings of Christ and effectively challenge the teachings of Joseph Smith.
Born and raised in the Mormon church, Amy Fuller was taught that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints was the only true church. She never questioned this until God began to work in her life, planting seeds in various ways. Amy and her husband, Kevin, were married in the LDS temple and started a family, sure that this was God's best for their lives. The God of the Bible continued to work in Amy's life and to draw her to Him. What would this mean to her marriage, her family and her social circle? Peighton: I love my daddy so much. I miss him. I need him home to love on him. It is not easy growing up without a daddy.

Breaking the Chains That Bind You is an impelling story of one man’s trek from a life of crime and addiction to a life of freedom and peace while presently being incarcerated in a state penitentiary. Instead of controlling others, Levi is now serving others. He risks his life daily to spread the Good News of Jesus Christ to fellow inmates. He has freedom from the anger and pain that festered within and exploded without to an unexplainable sense of love and joy. Once more, even though Levi is imprisoned, he experiences freedom from entrapment, waiting patiently for God to open the prison doors so that he can proclaim his story to the outside world.
If you have a marble, put it in some boiling hot water, let it sit and then drop it in ice cold water, the marble will crack. This is a good analogy of how the mind “creates” different personalities as a result of experiencing exorbitant trauma. Last week, we talked about Annette’s traumatic events that created four personalities also called alters: the little girl who was afraid of everyone; the confident one who controlled all the others; the one full of rage and anger and the one who didn’t like to be touched. How can a person’s mind be split and then become whole? What happens with all the trauma that the personalities held? Where do the personalities go? Will they return? How does Annette live without them? These questions will be addressed. In the rest of the show we’ll be talking with someone whose mind is still fragmented- how this happened, how having DID affects her life. Nicale wants to tell her story so that others like her will know there is a way out.
