There are many different pathways available for podiatrists to pursue once they have graduated and one of the most rewarding pathway is to become a podiatric surgeon. Many students have been very interested in becoming surgeons but what exactly is required for entry and how will they know it is the right career path for them? We are extremely fortunate to be given insight into this career pathway from a renowned podiatric surgeon within Australia.

It's a brand new year which means a brand new episode of the WTFoot podcast! We hope that everyone had a fantastic Christmas and New Year last year and hope that this year brings everyone greater success and enjoyment.
We know that for many people, working within the sports sector of a health profession is the goal for their dream job or something they are very interested to work in. This is the same for podiatry. It can be hard to know the exact process of becoming a 'sports podiatrist' or working for a sporting club (large or small) as a podiatrist. Fortunately, we were able to discuss sports podiatry and the potential pathways to work within the sports sector with a renowned podiatrist who also completed their PhD in 2019.

It has been a while since we last presented an episode but in these obscure times, we try to make the best out of them.
Studying or working in podiatry can give people different insights into the possible pathways they can take for their profession.
There are many organisations and charity groups that have strong associations with podiatry and helping those in need. As Covid-19 continues to be relevant, especially for those living in Victoria, we were fortunate enough to find time to have a discussion with a special person who is an integral part of an Australian charity group.

Regardless of whether you are a current podiatry student, new graduate or have a few years under your sleeve, this episode aims to inform about job hunting within the podiatry world. During Part 1 of the podcast, Ife, Julian and Tony cover how to monitor the job market, the different modes used for applying for jobs (e.g Indeed, Seek, etc), the Do’s and Dont’s as well as some subtle differences between applying for public and private sector jobs. Although we are not experts on this, we hope that this epsisode will assist you in your job hunt. We hope you enjoy listening to this episode because we certainly enjoyed recording it!
