Mercy has made it! She’s just got a scholarship to attend Bongo Academy, one of the country’s top high schools. For the 15-year-old girl living in the slums, this is a dream come true. At home, life is tough. Her mother is expecting another baby while Mercy’s two younger brothers have been sent away to their aunt who’s offered to help take care of them - will she keep her promise? Mercy’s new friend Trudy is helping her acclimate to life at Bongo Academy, but how positive is her influence? Trouble begins when two boys fall for Mercy. Her classmates Dan and Niki are both trying to win her affection, but only one of them gives her butterflies... Niki comes from an ambitious middle class family. By being appointed head of the class at the new school, he’s on the right track to make his parents proud. Dan is quite the opposite. Back in his home country, he used to drive his parents crazy, which is why they sent him away to get a good education at Bongo Academy. Now he’ll be prepared to take over the family business - at least that’s his parent’s plan…

Niki's parents were robbed recently, and they suspect that Mercy’s dad Msoto, who used to work as their watchman, was responsible. Was Msoto really behind the robbery?
Mercy is reflecting on her first sexual experience, but still tries to concentrate on today's exam. Before it starts, Niki gives her a note with an astonishing message about her father.
Mercy is still in love with Dan, but he treats her coldly since their last date was interrupted and she refused to sleep with him. Mercy feels lost and makes a momentous decision in order to win his heart again.
Niki came up with a plan to impress Mercy, but while trying to put it into practice, he almost kills someone. Meanwhile Trudy can't believe that Mercy rejected Dan, and Dan is really upset.
While Dan and Mercy hide in the bushes to escape principal Juliette, they start to argue: Dan would like to sleep with Mercy right here, but she refuses.
Mercy set her doubts aside and sneaked in the boys' area to meet Dan. But their date is interrupted: the principal is coming to do a room inspection. Will Dan and Mercy manage to leave before the principal sees them?
Dan invited Mercy to his room, although girls are strictly forbidden in the boys' dormitory. While Dan and his friend Biko are making arrangements, Mercy is not sure if she should really go.
Niki is depressed because Mercy chose Dan over him. Another nasty shock awaits him when he comes back from school: his family has been robbed while his mother was at home alone! Will they find out who did this?
Mercy finally tells Dan that she likes him, but he is not so sure about it and asks her to prove it. What is he expecting? Meanwhile, Msoto tries to get more money and Niki's mother gets a nasty surprise.

Mercy's mother Lulu goes to the police station to report her twin sons missing - which turns out to be quite difficult. Niki is really angry about Dan and tries to get rid of him by reporting him to Principal Juliette.
