This song was written during ISTE Live, at ISTE 2023 in Philadelphia, during a conference session. Lyrics:(Verse 1)Come gather round, let's start our adventure,Walking the rim, right back to the center. It's the boundary that wraps all around,Perimeter's the name, in distance, we're bound.Chorus:Perimeter, er, er, around the edge so grand,Area, re, re, in the space we stand. When you learn the secrets, oh, it's so divine,To measure our world, line by line.(Verse 2)Now look inside, see the space so clear,Area's the name, far and near. It's the height times width, we find with cheer,The space inside, we hold so dear.Chorus:Perimeter, er, er, like a fence so wide,Area, re, re, in its space, we abide. In the classroom, or under the pines,We measure our world, line by line.(Bridge)When math seems tough, don't hide, don't fret,Keep trying, dear students, don't ever forget. The answers are there, in your heart, in your mind,Just remember how we measure, line by line.Chorus:Perimeter, er, er, around the outside edge,Area, re, re, from ledge to ledge.Hand in hand, in this journey so divine,We measure our world, line by line.
Soundtrack for the iPad Collection video we made for students. We used the 8mm iOS app to capture video clips to emulate 1920s-style footage.

As an Apple Distinguished Educator (ADE), I was able to attend a Logic Pro session last week, and was inspired to learn the new Sampler. As part of the ADE Festival of Learning, I wrote this piece for the Creativity Challenge Week 2: The 1-5-6-4 Song!
I liked the sound of a loop in Logic, but wanted a different melody, so I sampled the loop, mapped it to a keyboard, and a new melody. I did a similar workflow for a fuzzy bass synth--I liked that loop, but needed it to be a 1-5-6-4 progression for the #1564challenge.
I still love GarageBand, especially for podcast editing, but am definitely beginning to use Logic Pro for songwriting and for more complex audio editing.
Inspired by a prompt, I create a one minute piece of music to go with a one minute video. Didn't have a guitar handy, so it took a rare turn towards electronic music.
Soundtrack for my Apple Distinguished Educator application video.

Let’s talk
‘Bout iPhoneography:
Mobile shots.
Turn on
Your iPhone and begin
And changing your class
With memories that last, instead
Shoot shoot shoot shoo shoo shoot
Transform
Your classroom visually
Let them see
Know how
You wanted it to be:
Visually fed
And not brain dead, instead
And I wonder
To take better shots of you
If everyone could only simplify their photos
Get closer and pick some cool angles for your pics
Following the rule of thirds
You've got a promise to use even lighting, yeah
Snap that!
A one stop
Storytelling tool
Always with you
And now
I know you'll always need
Where you can shoot
Also edit, and share
And I wonder
To take better shots of you
If everyone could only simplify their photos
Get closer and pick some cool angles for your pics
Following the rule of thirds
You've got a promise to use even lighting, yeah
Written during a session at Fall CUE: Oh, I gotta mindset you ain't met I gotta do this I can't quit yet I may fall, stumble, and trip I dust myself off I don’t give a rip
When someone gets me down, I reach for the sun When things get tough, I let my awesomeness run I will shine brilliant like the sun I will over, I will overcome
Watching all day On the YouTube, come what may I guess I'll just push play Today isn't my day to find you A passive way I'm craving interactivity
Click on me (click on me) Click me on (click on me) Active fun on YouTube
Don't wanna pout, I want my own website I write alone, this doesn't help my plight I started freaking out, and realized my need: I need website technology
And that's about the time I opened safari And I'm a website owner absentee I need a place that I can write my prose Time to buy my own domain My class says I should have a page What's my page again? What's my page again?
I have a blog, but it's not my home I need a site that I can call my own My district always blocks, the free websites, they fail So buy your own dot come and be
A teacher with a website that works awesomely Students should have accessibility They will be more engaged when knowledge sprawls I want my own http My class says I should have a page What's my page again? What's my page again?
Double chorus
And that's about the time I customized my feed Nobody finds you when you're website-free An eduawesome site will soon appear A URL, a blog post feed My class says I should have a page What's my page again? What's my page again?
