This remix started it's life as most of my "remixes" do - I take a song that I think isn't quite there and I add elements and edit until I love it.
This one was a little different - the next morning, I listened back and was like "holy shit, this feels like a real remix" and sent it in an email to Pete Tong, whose label FFRR released the original.
Pete quickly responded back, "will be in the show this week" for which i thought to myself "wait, what? A track I spent 20 minutes on is gonna get played on the Pete Tong show? Ferreal?"
I don't care how successful I am and have been; every time Pete Tong plays something of mine, I get giddy like a schoolgirl.
After he played it, there was a great response for it on social media and the BBC site, and Pete offered me up the stems so that I could really do a proper "remix".
Once I got them, I went to town. I spent a whole day and made this thing i thought was great. But Pete wasn't having it. "Keep it close to what you did on the bootleg" he told me. Turns out he was right, why mess with something that was already good enough? So, all i really did was add a kick drum and mix the other sounds i chose better.

Motorcycle made WAY more than one song. The problem was, we signed with a record label who wanted us to keep making As The Rush Comes over and over again and sadly some brilliant music never got to see the light of day :(
This was always one of our favorite songs that never got released.
also, we'd like to strike on the record that this is a demo. which means it was never finished, or mixed, or produced for that matter.
We found out about this song on James Holden's Balance 05 Mix CD (still to this day one of the best mix CD's ever made)
So, when Ministry of Sound records asked us to remix it a year later, we jumped at the chance and treated it with kid gloves.
What that breakdown does to a dancefloor...
This is a mashup we made in 2005 using the drums of our Above & Beyond remix overlaid with The Cure's 1987 hit "Just Like Heaven" and nice phat Moog baseline.
production-wise it's a mess, but the sentiment is there and that's what counts :)
We made this mashup for our first essential mix in March, 2003.
At the time nobody was doing mashups.
