What a week. I got to vote in the california recall and we write in our landlord as the new governor, can't be any worse than those yaaaaahoooos. Andre Cuomo finally says " Alright I'lllllllll go ovaaaaahere, can't a guy try and grab some scaaaaaadouuuush ovahere?" Did my first set in over a year and a half. Hey it wasn't good but it wasn't bad I still got it. USA Mullet championships where on the ESPN 8 "TheOcho." We did not enter this year but "Pure Luxury" will be a shoe in for the top spot next year. Lots of Boxing this week and the Giants keep hitting dingers and the Dodgers keep getting further away and I love it. That and so much more.

Yes I know it has been a min but I had a lot of things to do like get drunk and hang out with loose women. LOL. OK now that that is out of the way we have a very special guest on this episode my good friend Brad Upton. I moved to Seattle WA in 2003 and started comedy that same year. One of the first shows that I watched on the weekend at my home club the Comedy underground was an anniversary of the club show. At that time I believe that they had been in business 23 years don't quote me on that. The formats of those show were an MC and Seattle headliners every show. Brad was on the late show Fri following another good friend of mine Rodney Sherwood. I had seen Rodney and I was like "why is this old guy going up after Rodney? He can't follow Rodney!" Brad goes up after Rodney had killed the room and like a pro proceeds to destroy that room for the next hour. Even with me only being in comedy for a couple months I was blown away. Not only by the fact the material was great and well put together but that having to follow a guy that was really high energy (Rodney) that someone could go up with a completely different style and completely take control of that room. Settle it down from a 11. Bring it down to a 7 and and have the crown ride with them at all the way to the end of that hour at a 12. I learned a lot that night. Its not any one style that wins the crowd but how you present yourself to an audience. Since then Brad has been telling jokes all over the world. He recently went what them damn kids call "Viral" with his Dry Bar Comedy special. As of right now he has over 57 gazillion views (That's A lot) the single most watched stand up video in history. Not bad for a poor old boy from Pasco WA who was school teacher and a track coach after collage. Terrance is a producer,sound engineer,rapper, and all around cool dude that has his fingers in all things creative in the Seattle artist community. He also recorded and edited my first full lengthened comedy album 2 years ago(available on iTunes and all internet platforms). We sat down for over an hour and caught up on things. I hadn't talked to Terrance in a while and during the course of the conversation we definitely got in our echo chamber a bit. We talked some politics, music,the effect of the rising cost of living in Seattle and how it is affecting the artistic community, and why maybe I never had a first when playing pick up basketball. I beat out 8 other competitors for 7 mins I took home the grand prize. Pretty awesome. I did not take the Jet ski because lets face it everything I own fits in my 2007 Nissan Versa so I took the cash option and got another tattoo (it was 300$). Connor McGregor gets arrested in NYC, Lets see if King Trump Is really true to his word on the “Violent felons getting deported. Tony Ferguson and Kabib gets canceled….. Again. I recently got a short notice booking to work at the Spokane Comedy Club in Spokane WA. Great club in the pacific northwest for Steve Rannazzisi from The League. I gladly excepted. Hello there internet. Yes I know it has been a couple of weeks but hey what the hell do you want from me this is free and you love it. So I had to begin my domestic duties in Alaska so I did not have the amount of time that I needed to put this thing up :( So I do aplogize. So this is a long over due podcast that I recorded on May 15th w/ my good friend Amari Taylor. Amari is a Seattle comedian who runs 2 very fun rooms in Renton WA. Local 907 on Monday nights and Trenchers on Tuesday nights. Not only is Amari a funny comic he is also a big fight fan like myself. We always talk on the internet about fights weather that be Boxing, UFC, and all other forms of combat that are on the internet and otherwise. So when I got up to Seattle and we ran into his we decided that we should sit down and discuss all things getting punched in the face. We sat down for about an hour and a half before the open mic and talked. There is no rhyme or reason to wat we are talking about. We bounce from here to there Boxing to UFC to point karate and so on and so forth. It was a really fun podcast and I am very happy that you get to listen to it. Hello there internet and welcome to another Episode of the Rodger That Podcast . This is episode #17 of the internets favorite podcast and this week we have my friend and filmmaker Ruben Rodriguez. I met Ruben in 2013 during the Seattle International Comedy Competition. He was filming the competition to make a documentary about what happens every Nov in Seattle when 32 comics from around the world compete to become the champ. I made the finals that year so me and Ruben got to know each other over that month and have kept in contact ever since. I asked Ruben if he had some time to sit down and talk about what he has been up too since we met. He is a full time filmmaker and has be working for the EBI the Eddie Bravo Invitational and the Invicta Fighting Championship. We had a great conversation that also included 2 pee breaks.

He started a couple of years after me in the Seattle comedy scene. Well hello there internet and welcome to another episode of the Rodger That Podcast. This is episode #14 and it is a very special episode because we have my good friend Carl Womenhoven on the show. Carl is a very important person in my life and very important person in a lot of peoples lives who started comedy in Seattle and worked at my home club the Comedy Underground in Seattle WA. 2003 I walked down those steps to how I would only describe to "Case" the joint for 2 weeks at open mic before I had the guts to sign up. Carl was always a great presence at the club. He would watch and listen to the show give you a tag or maybe a different direction you could go with a joke. Always had something positive to say even in my case when I would go up and as we say in the biz "Eat a bag of dicks" Carl and I sat down and had a great conversation and a lot of old names that came through the club came up. Some famous people, some local guys, and some infamous characters and a lot of people in between. Carl was nice enough to give me an hour of his time and I was very happy to see an old friend. I have since used the skills that I have learned here to pay my bills for the last 19 years. I work every year on St Paddys the biggest day of the year for the pub. I had Mike if he had an hour to spare to sit down and talk because i have know Mike for 19 years but I don't know really anything about him, where he grew up, early life, and how he came to the United States as a young man. So we talked about that, where he grew up in Limierick City Ireland. Coming over to the states at 24 and starting a family and the start of the place that got me my start in cooking. Hello there internet . This a special epiosde of the Rodger That Podcast. This is what we are gona call a Mini Ep or Maxi single for old people my age. Its a shorter version than we normaly do. I am calling it the uninformed guys guide to the NCAA tournament. Basically it is me a guy that views about 8-10% of the season of college basketball season, mostly just the 2 weeks before the tourney. I watch zero ESPN so called "experts." I study no players, teams, or any other factors that would sway my decisions in anyway on who I pick. I do this every year. Just go in and trust my gut, pick teams on having a white guy that can hit a corner 3. How cool the team nick names sound , Lets go Shoooooooooockers ! Kinda like a girl that dosen't watch sports and says "I like the teams mascot, so I'm gonna root for them." In my brackets there are alot of upsets and Number 1's go down early sometimes. The Rodger That Podcast roots for the underdog most of the time and likes to ride a double digit seed far in the tourney, sometimes to the detriment to the rest of my bracket. I'm not betting the morgage on it so I like to root for the small school and love it when Duke gets knocked out in the 2 round.
