When Jesus took on flesh to save us, He unashamedly identified Himself with us in the process. Through baptism, we unashamedly identify ourselves with Him.Matthew 28:18-20, Colossians 2:6-15
Abraham’s willingness to give up his only son, Isaac, was a foreshadow of God’s willingness to give up His only Son, Jesus, so that we may have life. It’s a picture of the gospel in the Old Testament. Genesis 22:1-19
God’s reassurance of His covenant with Abraham and the eventual birth of Isaac show us that God keeps His promises. We may not know exactly when a promise will be answered, but we can be certain that His promise will come true. Genesis 17:15-18:15, 21:1-7
The sign of circumcision, instituted with Abraham, was more than just a physical act. The spiritual implication reveals it has more to do with the heart, which remains true for us today. Genesis 17:1-14
The call of Jesus to the blessed life He won for us is found in surrender, not striving. With Him, we can experience deep joy and abundant life, but away from Him, we experience scarcity and death. Genesis 12:1-9, 15:1-21
When we seek authority and influence over others and control over our circumstances, we experience anxiety and bear the pressure of performing, but we can rest in the fact that God is faithful, trustworthy, and in control. 1 Corinthians 10:6-14
Zacchaeus shows us how a relationship with Jesus is of the highest value, and his interaction with Jesus is a great blueprint for us on how we should view our money. Luke 19:1-10
While much of our culture prioritizes the outer beauty of the body, God values the inward beauty of the heart more. 1 Samuel 16:1-13
We’re so prone to making sex an idol because it represents our greatest longing, which is the gospel itself. 1 Corinthians 6:12-20
We are most prone to fashion an idol out of love when we forsake the One who first loved us. 1 John 4:7-21
We were created to worship, which means when we’re not worshipping the God we were created for, we will always worship something in His place. Exodus 20:1-6, Romans 1:18-25
God has invited us into His mission to bring the light of Jesus to people walking in darkness. Matthew 5:14-16, Ephesians 5:1-16
In our search for a light to defeat the darkness, we must acknowledge that victory is only found in Jesus, the true Light.

We have the choice to remain in the darkness of our sin or step into the light of Jesus. One leads to eternal separation from God. The other leads to eternal life with Him.

The time of people being intolerant of the truth has come. We must always be ready to proclaim God’s Word all the more. 2 Timothy 4:1-22
We do not stand alone against godlessness and deceit. God always equips those whom He calls, especially through relationships with fellow believers and His Word. 2 Timothy 3:10-17
As godlessness continues to increase in the darkness, we can have hope because the Light of the world has overcome the world, and through Him, we also overcome. 2 Timothy 3:1-9
Rather than fighting against those who believe what is false, the follower of Jesus is to engage them with kindness, proper handling of God’s Word, patient endurance, and gentleness. 2 Timothy 2:14-26
Our call is to faithfully endure in the face of suffering while being strengthened in Christ, thinking on who He has made us to be, and remembering there’s power in God’s word. 2 Timothy 2:1-13
Even the most “spiritually mature” among us face the danger of discouragement and spiritual weakness. In these times, we either shrink back in shame or share in suffering for the gospel by God’s power. 2 Timothy 1:1-18
Dating different means dating in a way that honors Jesus, which will always look different than how the world dates.
In dating, we’re not looking for a boyfriend or girlfriend. We’re looking for a future husband or wife who will help us fulfill God’s vision and purpose for marriage with us. 2 Corinthians 6:14-18
We spend so much time focusing on who and how we’re dating when our first priority should be who we’re becoming. God’s will for us is first and foremost our sanctification, not that we’d be dating.
Though dating is man’s creation, God’s design for marriage helps us understand the purpose and redemption in dating. Genesis 2:18-25
Slavery wasn’t God’s original design for humanity, but He takes this sinful invention of man and uses it as a picture of our slavery to sin to point us to the freedom we can have in Christ.

Many would claim science is the biggest barrier to faith, but God’s word would claim it provides the most evidence for Him. Romans 1:18-21
If the Bible isn’t true, we’re doomed for a hopeless existence. The good news is we have no shortage of reasons for believing it’s truly God’s word.
When Jesus proclaimed, “It is finished,” on the cross, it meant our sin has been paid in full. We must be people who live as if we truly believe those words.

We find great encouragement and rest knowing the Spirit of God can strengthen our inner self so that we may experientially know the rule and love of Christ in a deeper way each day. Ephesians 3:14-21
When we intercede before others in prayer, we follow the example of Jesus, who interceded for us by His death on the cross.

We can bring unknown and uncertainty to God in prayer because He knows what is unknown and is certain of what is uncertain. 2 Chronicles 20:1-23
A life in step with the Holy Spirit allows us to live boldly for Jesus and continually ask bold requests of our God. Acts 4:23-31
Following Jesus means dying to ourselves daily and standing unashamed before a watching world. Luke 9:23-26
Following Jesus means pursuing and prioritizing Him as our greatest possession and source of wealth. Mark 10:17-31
Following Jesus means that the world will hate us just as they hated Him. John 15:18-25
Following Jesus means leaving behind our old lives and embracing our new lives with a kingdom focus.

In order to rightly walk in our newfound freedom in Christ, we must walk by the Spirit. Romans 6:1-14, Galatians 5:13-26
Living in freedom means obedience to Christ. Obedience to Christ leads to spiritual growth and abundant joy.
We are always bound by something. We’re either in bondage to sin or in bondage to Christ, which is where true freedom is found. John 8:31-36, Romans 6:16-23

Worldly self-care places our care solely in our hands, making everything about us. Biblical self-care places our care in God’s hands as we seek to honor Him in all we do. Philippians 4:4-9
The cross reminds us that we are not “enough.” The good news is that we don’t have to be because Jesus is, and the empty tomb proves that. 1 Corinthians 1:26-31
When believers discover and use their spiritual gifts, the church grows and is built up. When we fail to do this, the body’s growth is stunted. 1 Peter 4:10-11
Christ has given us the local church and its leaders to equip believers for the work of ministry, but this requires a commitment to the local church. Hebrews 10:24-25, Ephesians 4:11-16
Jesus is building His Church with His Church. It’s on His authority that we go, and He is always with us. Matthew 28:18-20
God’s plan moves through His people, the Church, which is more than a building. Matthew 16:13-20
What God has designed, we have distorted. What Christ has reclaimed, He is restoring. Genesis 1-3, Romans 1
Because we trust and submit to King Jesus, we trust and submit to the authorities He has put in place.
Sin is an infinite offense against an infinitely holy God, which requires an infinite penalty. The good news is that Jesus Christ paid that penalty on our behalf.
