Genesis 2:9

Out of the ground the LORD God caused every tree to grow that is pleasing to the sight and good for food; the tree of life was also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.

Genesis 3:7-10

Then the eyes of both of them were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together and made themselves waist coverings.

Now they heard the sound of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and the man and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God among the trees of the garden. Then the LORD God called to the man, and said to him, “Where are you?” He said, “I heard the sound of You in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked; so I hid myself.”

The Courage to Be Seen

Where are you?

Living Exposed: Finding God in the Courage to Be Known

Core Thesis

We spend much of life hiding behind performance, success, religion, titles, and fear. Yet from Genesis to Jesus, God’s invitation is not to hide but to be fully known. When we stop protecting our image, we become free to see the divine image in others.

  1. Adam and Eve hide after the fall

Genesis 3:8–10

  1. Humans bear God’s image

Genesis 1:26–27

  1. God looks at the heart

1 Samuel 16:7

  1. Jesus invites us into truth

John 8:32

  1. Walking in the light

1 John 1:7

  1. Confession brings healing

James 5:16

  1. Perfect love casts out fear

1 John 4:18

  1. Nothing is hidden from God

Seek first the kIngdom require as vital , Love the Lord YOUR GOD with ALL

and what does it actually look like to give your whole self to something meaningful without it becoming performative or exhausting?”

The call of Jesus was never about partial awareness or divided living.

It was always an invitation into wholeness, into full surrender, full trust, and full union.

Not because God is demanding performance, but because fragmented living keeps us from experiencing fullness.

Jesus speaks often in the language of “all.”

“Love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.”

Matthew 22:37 NASB

This is not legalism, it is alignment.

Love naturally wants fullness.

“If anyone wishes to come after Me, he must deny himself, and take up his cross daily and follow Me.”

Luke 9:23 NASB

Denying self is not self-hatred.

It is letting go of the false self, the fearful self, the striving self, so the true life of Christ can emerge.

“The kingdom of heaven is like a treasure hidden in the field… and from joy over it he goes and sells all that he has and buys that field.”

Matthew 13:44 NASB

Notice the language:

He sells all, not because he is forced to, but because he discovered something greater.

Awareness changes what we cling to.

“So therefore, none of you can be My disciple who does not give up all his own possessions.”

Luke 14:33 NASB

Jesus is not obsessed with possessions.

He is confronting attachment.

Anything we cling to more than love limits awareness.

“He who loses his life for My sake will find it.”

Matthew 10:39 NASB

The paradox of the Kingdom is this:

When we let go, we awaken.

When we surrender, we become alive.

When we stop trying to preserve the false self, we discover the true self.

What is Kingdom Clarity?

Kingdom clarity is not about knowing everything ahead of time.

It is about being undivided in heart and aligned with God in the present moment.

In Gospel of Matthew 5:8:

“Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.”

The word pure (Greek: katharos) means:

  • unmixed

  • undivided

  • clear

Clarity in the Kingdom is not information,

it is alignment.

And in Gospel of Matthew 6:22:

“If your eye is clear, your whole body will be full of light.”

The word clear (Greek: haplous) means:

  • single

  • focused

  • whole

So Jesus is saying:

When your heart is not divided, your life fills with light.

How has God formed you in the area of trust?

Romans 8:16

“The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God.”

Romans 8:26

“Likewise the Spirit also helps our infirmities, for we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.”

Ephesians 3:16–17

“That He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with power through His Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith.”

1 Corinthians 2:12

“Now we have received not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might know the things that have been freely given to us by God.”

Trust in God is rarely instant, it is formed through relationship, testing, and experience.

Trust in God is formed through:

1.Lover Encounter

2.Testing

3.Obedience

4.Surrender

John 13:34

Love like Jesus love he is the standard

Romans 5:5

We need the Holy Spirit to love

LOVE IS THE MEASURE OF THE CHURCH, not services, not our preaching or our songs

Matthew 16:18 (NASB)

“I also say to you that you are Peter, and upon this rock I will build My church; and the gates of Hades will not overpower it.”

Jesus does not delegate the building of the Church. He claims it.

“I will build My church.”

The Church is not a human project, it is a divine work.

John 15:-12-17

Disciples’ Relation to Each Other

“This is My commandment, that you love one another, just as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this, that a person will lay down his life for his friends. You are My friends if you do what I command you. No longer do I call you slaves, for the slave does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, because all things that I have heard from My Father I have made known to you. You did not choose Me but I chose you, and appointed you that you would go and bear fruit, and that your fruit would remain, so that whatever you ask of the Father in My name He may give to you. This I command you, that you love one another.

Romans 8:10-14

If Christ is in you, though the body is dead because of sin, yet the spirit is alive because of righteousness. But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you.

So then, brothers and sisters, we are under obligation, not to the flesh, to live according to the flesh— for if you are living in accord with the flesh, you are going to die; but if by the Spirit you are putting to death the deeds of the body, you will live. For all who are being led by the Spirit of God, these are sons and daughters of God.

2 Corinthians 4:10–12

always carrying around in the body the dying of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be revealed in our body. For we who live are constantly being handed over to death because of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be revealed in our mortal flesh. So death works in us, but life in you.

Acts 2:44-46

And all the believers were together and had all things in common; and they would sell their property and possessions and share them with all, to the extent that anyone had need. Hebrews 1:1-2

God, after He spoke long ago to the fathers in the prophets in many portions and in many ways, in these last days has spoken to us in His Son, whom He appointed heir of all things, through whom He also made the world.

Hebrews 6:17-20

In the same way God, desiring even more to demonstrate to the heirs of the promise the fact that His purpose is unchangeable, confirmed it with an oath, so that by two unchangeable things in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have taken refuge would have strong encouragement to hold firmly to the hope set before us. This hope we have as an anchor of the soul, a hope both sure and reliable and one which enters within the veil, where Jesus has entered as a forerunner for us, having become a high priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek.

Acts 2:42-47

They were continually devoting themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.

Everyone kept feeling a sense of awe; and many wonders and signs were taking place through the apostles. And all the believers were together and had all things in common; and they would sell their property and possessions and share them with all, to the extent that anyone had need. Day by day continuing with one mind in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they were taking their meals together with gladness and sincerity of heart, praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord was adding to their number day by day those who were being saved.

Acts 2:1-3

When the day of Pentecost had come, they were all together in one place. And suddenly a noise like a violent rushing wind came from heaven, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. And tongues that looked like fire appeared to them, distributing themselves, and a tongue rested on each one of them.

1 Corinthians 3:10–15

According to the grace of God which was given to me, like a wise master builder I laid a foundation, and another is building on it.

But each person must be careful how he builds on it. For no man can lay a foundation other than the one which is laid, which is Jesus Christ. Now if anyone builds on the foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, or straw, each one’s work will become evident; for the day will show it because it is to be revealed with fire, and the fire itself will test the quality of each one’s work. If anyone’s work which he has built on it remains, he will receive a reward. If anyone’s work is burned up, he will suffer loss; but he himself will be saved, yet only so as through fire.

Isaiah 48:10

Behold, I have refined you, but not as silver;

I have tested you in the furnace of affliction.

Malachi 3:2–3

For He is like a refiner’s fire and like fullers’ soap. He will sit as a smelter and purifier of silver, and He will purify the sons of Levi and refine them like gold and silver, so that they may present to the Lord offerings in righteousness.

Old Testament Roots

Psalm 1:2

“But his delight is in the law of the Lord, and on His law he meditates (hagah) day and night”

The Hebrew word most often translated “meditate” is הָגָה (hagah), which means to mutter, ponder, chew over, speak under the breath.

It’s not silent, mystical emptiness but rather a murmuring, almost like praying Scripture aloud to yourself.

Psalm 143:5

“I meditate (siach) on all You have done”

Another Hebrew word is שִׂיחַ (siach), meaning to muse, rehearse, commune, converse with oneself or with God.

This leans toward inward conversation and reflection.

New Testament Language

The New Testament (Greek) doesn’t use the word meditation as often, but uses concepts like:

1 Tim. 4:15

“Practice (meletao) these things, immerse yourself in them”

μελετάω (meletao) – to practice, study, cultivate by repetition. Dwelling.

This is parallel to “meditation” a rehearsing, dwelling upon.

Phil. 4:8

“Think (logizomai) on these things…”

λογίζομαι (logizomai) – to reckon, consider, dwell on in thought.

It’s not passive but active mental engagement.

John 15:4

“Abide (meno) in Me”

μένω (meno) – to abide, remain, dwell.

This is deeply meditative in practice: staying, resting, dwelling in presence.

Hebrews 12:2

looking only at Jesus, the originator and perfecter of the faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

1 Corinthians 7:35 (NLT)

“I am saying this for your benefit, not to place restrictions on you. I want you to do whatever will help you serve the Lord best, with as few distractions as possible.”

Psalm 86:11 (ESV)

“Teach me Your way, O Lord, that I may walk in Your truth; unite my heart to fear Your name.”

Matthew 6:25 (ESV)

“Do not be anxious about your life…”

Greek Word Study

“Anxious” = merimnao – literally to be divided in mind or pulled apart

Isaiah 6:1-7

In the year of King Uzziah’s death I saw the Lord sitting on a throne, lofty and exalted, with the train of His robe filling the temple. Seraphim were standing above Him, each having six wings: with two each covered his face, and with two each covered his feet, and with two each flew. And one called out to another and said,

“Holy, Holy, Holy, is the LORD of armies.

The whole earth is full of His glory.”

And the foundations of the thresholds trembled at the voice of him who called out, while the temple was filling with smoke. Then I said,

“Woe to me, for I am ruined!

Because I am a man of unclean lips,

And I live among a people of unclean lips;

For my eyes have seen the King, the LORD of armies.”

Then one of the seraphim flew to me with a burning coal in his hand, which he had taken from the altar with tongs. He touched my mouth with it and said, “Behold, this has touched your lips; and your guilt is taken away and atonement is made for your sin.”

Peace is not the absence of trouble, but the presence of a Person. True peace isn’t found in escaping chaos, It’s found in encountering Jesus. Throughout Scripture, those in the middle of storms, shame, and suffering found perfect peace, not by solving their problems, but by seeing Him.

Isaiah 9:6 – “Prince of Peace”

John 14:27 – “My peace I give you… not as the world gives.”

Philippians 4:7 – “Peace of God… will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.

Colossians 3:15 – “Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts.”

And tongues that looked like fire appeared to them, distributing themselves, and a tongue rested on each one of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with different tongues, as the Spirit was giving them the ability to speak out.

Now there were Jews residing in Jerusalem, devout men from every nation under heaven. And when this sound occurred, the crowd came together and they were bewildered, because each one of them was hearing them speak in his own language. They were amazed and astonished, saying, “Why, are not all these who are speaking Galileans? And how is it that we each hear them in our own language to which we were born? Parthians, Medes, and Elamites, and residents of Mesopotamia, Judea, and Cappadocia, Pontus and Asia, Phrygia and Pamphylia, Egypt and the parts of Libya around Cyrene, and visitors from Rome, both Jews and proselytes.

Acts 2:42-47

They were continually devoting themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.

Acts 1:4-6

Acts 1:14

Oneness is the essence of biblical community!

John 17:21-23

21 That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.

22 And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one:

23 I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me.

Proverbs 25:2

“It is the glory of God to conceal things, but the glory of kings is to search things out.”

The Hebrew word for “conceal” is sāṯar, which means to hide, keep secret. And the word for “search out” is ḥāqar, meaning to explore, examine intimately.

God doesn’t hide things from us, He hides them for us, like a Father preparing a treasure hunt for His sons.

Colossians 2:2-3

“so that they may have the full riches of complete understanding, in order that they may know the mystery of God, namely, Christ, in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.”

The Greek word for “mystery” is mystērion, not something unknowable, but something revealed in intimacy. Mystērion is not solved by revelation alone but by relationship. Revelation is invitation not an impartation. God unveils mystery to those who walk with Him.

Psalm 32:8

“I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will guide you with My eye.” This implies closeness. You can only follow someone’s eye if you’re in their presence. God’s guidance is an unfolding, not a downloaded map.

2 Corinthians 3:18 – “And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.”

Greek word: Katoptrizomai (κατοπτρίζομαι) – “to reflect or behold as in a mirror.”

Exodus 3:10-14

The Mission of Moses

And now come, and I will send you to Pharaoh, so that you may bring My people, the sons of Israel, out of Egypt.” But Moses said to God, “Who am I, that I should go to Pharaoh, and that I should bring the sons of Israel out of Egypt?” And He said, “Assuredly I will be with you, and this shall be the sign to you that it is I who have sent you: when you have brought the people out of Egypt, you shall worship God at this mountain.”

Then Moses said to God, “Behold, I am going to the sons of Israel, and I will say to them, ‘The God of your fathers has sent me to you.’ Now they may say to me, ‘What is His name?’ What shall I say to them?” And God said to Moses, “I AM WHO I AM”; and He said, “This is what you shall say to the sons of Israel: ‘I AM has sent me to you.’”

Isaiah 61:1-3

The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me,

Because the LORD anointed me

To bring good news to the humble;

He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted,

To proclaim release to captives

And freedom to prisoners;

To proclaim the favorable year of the LORD

And the day of vengeance of our God;

To comfort all who mourn,

To grant those who mourn in Zion,

Giving them a garland instead of ashes,

The oil of gladness instead of mourning,

The cloak of praise instead of a disheartened spirit.

So they will be called oaks of righteousness,

The planting of the LORD, that He may be glorified.

Jesus repeatedly emphasized that only those who become like children can enter the Kingdom:

Matthew 18:3

Truly I say to you, unless you turn and become like children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.

Mark 10:15

Truly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God like a child shall not enter it.

Matthew 11:25

At that time Jesus said, “I praise You, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that You have hidden these things from the wise and intelligent, and have revealed them to infants.

Children represent dependence, humility, trust, and an openness to receive. They don’t approach life with arrogance or self-sufficiency but with curiosity and faith. The spiritual realm is not something we control but something we receive, much like a child receives wisdom and care from a loving parent.

"Our hunger isn’t to chase something distant, it’s to awakening to what’s already available."

Matthew 5:6

“Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be satisfied.

Hannah (1 Samuel 1:1-20)

Hannah experienced profound emotional pain due to her barrenness and Peninnah’s constant provocation. Her pain created a hunger for change that drove her to fervent, sacrificial prayer. She poured her soul out to the Lord, making a vow that her son would be dedicated to God, Pain became the foundation of her hunger, which aligned her desires with God’s purposes, leading to the birth of Samuel, a prophet who shaped Israel’s history.

PSALM 23:1

The LORD is my shepherd,

I will not be in need.

Hebrew letters:

Kaph" (open palm) and

Hey" (breath of God).

Greek

It means Grace and Completeness

Genesis 1:1-2

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. And the earth was a formless and desolate emptiness, and darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the surface of the waters.

Genesis 2:7

Then the LORD God formed the man of dust from the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and the man became a living person.

1 John 4:19

We love, because He first loved us.

Romans 8:31-39

What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who is against us? He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him over for us all, how will He not also with Him freely give us all things? Who will bring charges against God’s elect? God is the one who justifies; who is the one who condemns? Christ Jesus is He who died, but rather, was raised, who is at the right hand of God, who also intercedes for us. Who will separate us from the love of Christ? Will tribulation, or trouble, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or sword? Just as it is written:

“FOR YOUR SAKE WE ARE KILLED ALL DAY LONG;

WE WERE REGARDED AS SHEEP TO BE SLAUGHTERED.”

But in all these things we overwhelmingly conquer through Him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

1 John 4:19

We love, because He first loved us.

Ephesians 5:1-2

Follow God’s example, therefore, as dearly loved children and walk in the way of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.

1 John 4:7-8

Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.

Colossians 3:14

And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.

Romans 13:8-10

Let no debt remain outstanding, except the continuing debt to love one another, for whoever loves others has fulfilled the law.

Philippians 2:5-8

Have this attitude in yourselves which was also in Christ Jesus, who, as He already existed in the form of God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped, but emptied Himself by taking the form of a bond-servant and being born in the likeness of men. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death: death on a cross.

Hebrews 5:8-9

Although He was a Son, He learned obedience from the things which He suffered. And having been perfected, He became the source of eternal salvation for all those who obey Him,

2 Corinthians 3:15-18

but whenever someone turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away. Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. But we all, with unveiled faces, looking as in a mirror at the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as from the Lord, the Spirit.

Galatians 5:19-26

Now the deeds of the flesh are evident, which are: sexual immorality, impurity, indecent behavior, idolatry, witchcraft, hostilities, strife, jealousy, outbursts of anger, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions, envy, drunkenness, carousing, and things like these, of which I forewarn you, just as I have forewarned you, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law. Now those who belong to Christ Jesus crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. If we live by the Spirit, let’s follow the Spirit as well. Let’s not become boastful, challenging one another, envying one another.

Psalms 27:1-5

The LORD is my light and my salvation;

Whom should I fear?

The LORD is the strength (defense) of my life; Whom should I afraid ?

When evildoers came upon me to devour my flesh, My adversaries and my enemies, they stumbled and fell.

If an army encamps against me,

My heart will not fear;

If war arises against me,

In spite of this I am confident.

One thing I have asked from the LORD, that I shall seek: That I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life,

To behold the beauty of the LORD

And to meditate in His temple.

For on the day of trouble He will conceal me in His tabernacle; He will hide me in the secret place of His tent; He will lift me up on a rock.

For all who are being led by the Spirit of God, these are sons and daughters of God. redeeming time and making the most of every opportunity is our focus

  1. Redeemed Time – Jesus

Jesus is the ultimate example of redeeming time. Throughout His ministry, He stayed laser-focused on His mission. In

John 9:4, He said, "As long as it is day, we must do the works of Him who sent me." Even though He had just three years of ministry, He used every moment to fulfill His Father’s will. Jesus prioritized time in prayer, time with people, and time for rest, showing us how to live fully in the moment while staying focused on our purpose.

  1. Redeemed Time – Esther

Esther was placed in a royal position for a specific time and purpose. She could have chosen to remain silent when her people were threatened, but instead, she acted. In Esther 4:14, Mordecai reminds her, "And who knows whether you have not come to the kingdom for such a time as this?" Esther seized the moment, recognizing that her time had a divine purpose.

  1. Lost Time – Samson

Samson, however, lost his focus. God gave him great strength, but he wasted his time pursuing personal desires rather than God's call. In

Judges 16, we see Samson got distracted from his mission. Samson failed to redeem the time, and it cost him his strength, his freedom, and ultimately, his life. Though he repented at the end, much time was lost due to his distractions.

Curiosity is living as a seeker of wisdom and understanding

Proverbs 2:2-6

Make your ear attentive to wisdom;

Incline your heart to understanding.

For if you cry out for insight,

Revelation 5:8-12Now when He had taken the scroll, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb, each having a harp, and golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints. And they sang a new song, saying:“You are worthy to take the scroll, And to open its seals; For You were slain,And have redeemed us to God by Your blood Out of every tribe and tongue and people and nation, And have made us kings and priests to our God; And we shall reign on the earth.” Then I looked, and I heard the voice of many angels around the throne, the living creatures, and the elders; and the number of them was ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands, saying with a loud voice:“Worthy is the Lamb who was slainTo receive power and riches and wisdom,And strength and honor and glory and blessing!”Contact us at: thewavecolumbus@gmail.com, or www.thewavecolumbus.com

And she had a sister called Mary, who also sat at Jesus’ feet and heard His word. But Martha was distracted with much serving, and she approached Him and said, “Lord, do You not care that my sister has left me to serve alone? Therefore tell her to help me.”And Jesus answered and said to her, “Martha, Martha, you are worried and troubled about many things. 2 Corinthians 3:4-6 And we have such trust through Christ toward God. Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think of anything as being from ourselves, but our sufficiency is from God, who also made us sufficient as ministers of the new covenant, not of the letter but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life. Ecclesiastes 12:13 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God and keep His commandments, For this is man’s all. John 13:34-35 A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another. By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another. John 15:10-13 If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love, just as I have kept My Father’s commandments and abide in His love. These things I have spoken to you, that My joy may remain in you, and that your joy may be full. This is My commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends. Romans 13:8 Owe no one anything except to love one another, for he who loves another has fulfilled the law. 2 Timothy 3:1 But understand this, that in the last days there will come times of difficulty. 1 John 2:18-24 Little children, it is the last hour; and as you have heard that the Antichrist is coming, even now many antichrists have come, by which we know that it is the last hour. They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would have continued with us; but they went out that they might be made manifest, that none of them were of us. But you have an anointing from the Holy One, and you know all things. I have not written to you because you do not know the truth, but because you know it, and that no lie is of the truth. Who is a liar but he who denies that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist who denies the Father and the Son. Whoever denies the Son does not have the Father either; he who acknowledges the Son has the Father also. Let Truth Abide in You Therefore let that abide in you which you heard from the beginning. Matthew 4:1-11 Then Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil. And after fasting forty days and forty nights, he was hungry. And the tempter came and said to him, “If you are the Son of God, command these stones to become loaves of bread.” But he answered, “It is written, “‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.’” Then the devil took him to the holy city and set him on the pinnacle of the temple and said to him, “If you are the Son of God, throw yourself down, for it is written, “‘He will command his angels concerning you,’ and On their hands they will bear you up, lest you strike your foot against a stone.’” Jesus said to him, “Again it is written, You shall not put the Lord your God to the test.’” Again, the devil took him to a very high mountain and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory. And he said to him, “All these I will give you, if you will fall down and worship me.” Then Jesus said to him, “Be gone, Satan! Exodus 34:5-8 Now the LORD descended in the cloud and stood with him there, and proclaimed the name of the LORD. And the LORD passed before him and proclaimed, “The LORD, the LORD God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abounding in goodness and truth, keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, by no means clearing the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children and the children’s children to the third and the fourth generation.” So Moses made haste and bowed his head toward the earth, and worshiped. Galatians 5:19-26 Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. Romans 8:1-5 There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death. For what the law could not do in that it was weak through the flesh, God did by sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, on account of sin: He condemned sin in the flesh, that the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit. Revelation 13:11-18 The Beast from the Earth Then I saw another beast coming up out of the earth, and he had two horns like a lamb and spoke like a dragon. And he exercises all the authority of the first beast in his presence, and causes the earth and those who dwell in it to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed. He performs great signs, so that he even makes fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men. And he deceives those who dwell on the earth by those signs which he was granted to do in the sight of the beast, telling those who dwell on the earth to make an image to the beast who was wounded by the sword and lived. He was granted power to give breath to the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak and cause as many as would not worship the image of the beast to be killed. He causes all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hand or on their foreheads, and that no one may buy or sell except one who has the mark or the name of the beast, or the number of his name. Here is wisdom. Let him who has understanding calculate the number of the beast, for it is the number of a man: His number is 666. thewavecolumbus@gmail.com www.thewavecolumbus.com

And the servant said, “Alas, my master! What shall we do?” He said, “Do not be afraid, for those who are with us are more than those who are with them.” Then Elisha prayed and said, “O LORD, please open his eyes that he may see.” So the LORD opened the eyes of the young man, and he saw, and behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha.

Colossians 3:12-17 Put on then, as God's chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience, bearing with one another and, if one has a complaint against another, forgiving each other; as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive. And above all these put on love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony. And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body. And be thankful. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God. And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.

For God knows that when you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.” So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was a delight to the eyes, and that the tree was to be desired to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate, and she also gave some to her husband who was with her, and he ate. Then the eyes of both were opened, and they knew that they were naked. And they sewed fig leaves together and made themselves loincloths. And they heard the sound of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and the man and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God among the trees of the garden. The Tent of Meeting Now Moses used to take the tent and pitch it outside the camp, far off from the camp, and he called it the tent of meeting. And everyone who sought the LORD would go out to the tent of meeting, which was outside the camp. Whenever Moses went out to the tent, all the people would rise up, and each would stand at his tent door, and watch Moses until he had gone into the tent. When Moses entered the tent, the pillar of cloud would descend and stand at the entrance of the tent, and the LORD would speak with Moses. And when all the people saw the pillar of cloud standing at the entrance of the tent, all the people would rise up and worship, each at his tent door. Thus the LORD used to speak to Moses face to face, as a man speaks to his friend. When Moses turned again into the camp, his assistant Joshua the son of Nun, a young man, would not depart from the tent.

Acts 16:16-25 Paul and Silas in Prison As we were going to the place of prayer, we were met by a slave girl who had a spirit of divination and brought her owners much gain by fortune-telling. She followed Paul and us, crying out, “These men are servants of the Most High God, who proclaim to you the way of salvation.” And this she kept doing for many days. Paul, having become greatly annoyed, turned and said to the spirit, “I command you in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her.” And it came out that very hour. But when her owners saw that their hope of gain was gone, they seized Paul and Silas and dragged them into the marketplace before the rulers. And when they had brought them to the magistrates, they said, “These men are Jews, and they are disturbing our city. They advocate customs that are not lawful for us as Romans to accept or practice.” The crowd joined in attacking them, and the magistrates tore the garments off them and gave orders to beat them with rods. And when they had inflicted many blows upon them, they threw them into prison, ordering the jailer to keep them safely. Having received this order, he put them into the inner prison and fastened their feet in the stocks. Galatians 5:16-25 Keep in Step with the Spirit But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. For the desires of the flesh are against the Spirit, and the desires of the Spirit are against the flesh, for these are opposed to each other, to keep you from doing the things you want to do. But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law. Now the works of the flesh are evident: sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality, idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, rivalries, dissensions, divisions, envy, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these. I warn you, as I warned you before, that those who do such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law. And those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. If we live by the Spirit, let us also keep in step with the Spirit.

James Naismith wrote and developed the game’s original thirteen rules and, through the YMCA network, quickly spread the news throughout the country. As basketball’s popularity grew, Naismith neither sought publicity nor engaged in self-promotion.
