Missions is changing - some trends are good and others are not. Social justice is twisting the definition of missions in a way that heads in a different direction than what we are doing at LBC. This Sunday we will be looking at compassion ministry and how it fits into the missions program of our church.

View Details

We will continue our study in Romans and see we all fall short of God's glory, but we will also see the gift we can have of redemption through Jesus Christ.

View Details

After a number of weeks of looking at the sinfulness of man, this Sunday we will begin to see the gospel of Jesus Christ displayed brilliantly in the text. These next few Sundays we will explore what many have called the "heart of Romans." Join us as we bask in the glories of the Gospel.

View Details

In this Sunday's text, we learn that we are guilty before God and that none of our righteous works offer any hope for our salvation. We must look for deliverance outside of ourselves.

View Details

This week we will continue looking into the book of Romans and seeing the sinfulness of man.

View Details

In this Sunday's message we will answer the question, "Why does Luke record Mary's response in Luke 2:19?"

View Details

This Sunday, we will take a break from our series in Romans and look at the various responses to the birth of Jesus in Bethlehem.

View Details

In Psalm 107, we are invited to give thanks to our God. He is the one who delivers His people from all types of trouble. Grow in wisdom through this text by joining in the praise of our God.

Where does mankind's idolatry lead? It leads to our immorality. In our text, Paul shows the downward progression that comes from our rejection of God. We are under God's wrath. We need the Good News of Jesus Christ!

View Details

Our text begins to explore the perilous predicament that all mankind is facing - God's wrath on our rebellion. We'll learn that we can offer no justifiable excuse!

View Details

Where has God manifested His power? Paul announces that God packed His power in the gospel. This Sunday, we study the two verses that are often identified as the theme of Paul's letter to the Romans. God's power to save is found in the gospel.

View Details

This week we continue studying the introduction of Romans and learn from Paul's kind words to this church that he had not visited but prayed for regularly.

View Details

This week we will begin to explore the letter to the Romans and examine the introduction of the book.

View Details

How do we live moment-to-moment making wise decisions? The answer is given to us in Ephesians 5. Paul tells us to "be filled with the Spirit." What does this look like? What exactly is being "filled with the Spirit?" Our ability to live wisely each day is dependent on getting this question right.

View Details

This Sunday we hear Paul testify to the essential elements of the gospel while seeking to lead a man to Christ!

View Details

This week we bring our series on the Lord's Prayer to a close. Jesus gives a parable after the prayer to illustrate our need to continually bring our petitions to our gracious, heavenly Father. Take time to read Luke 11:5-13 in preparation for Sunday.

View Details

This week we come to the final request in the Lord's Prayer, "Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil." Those of us who have come to Christ, know that although we have been redeemed and credited with the righteousness of Christ, we still battle the flesh and the devil. This request should be our continual prayer to God.

View Details

God is gracious and merciful to save us! He reaches down into our helplessness with light, hope, and help. He not only rescues us, but He also keeps us secure until the end. The Father, Son, and Spirit all play a role in our salvation.  Amazingly, God has also ordained that you and I play a part in helping each other make it to Heaven safely! We are going to talk about that this Sunday! The church body is in desperate need of one another! We need to make sure that we are connecting in life-giving ways to one another, helping each other grow in Christ-likeness, and caring for the body.

View Details

As believers, battling sin is a regular part of our daily experience. Through the power of the gospel we can have victory over sin, but what do we do if we fall? Join us this Sunday as we study the phrase, "Forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors." Read Matthew 6:9-14 in preparation for the gathering.

View Details

Join us as Pastor Brian speaks on the next segment of the series on The Lord's Prayer. We must learn to pray for God's Kingdom to Come.

View Details

Before Jesus teaches His disciples how to pray, He teaches them how not to pray. Citizens of heaven who desire to live in a dependent relationship with the Father must learn these valuable lessons on prayer.

View Details

This week we begin a short series on prayer. Jesus' disciples come to Him and ask for guidance on prayer. May God help our church to begin to look to Jesus for guidance on how we can pray rightly.

View Details

This Sunday we will have the privilege of hearing Chris Anderson share from God's Word. Chris was formerly the senior pastor at Killian Hill Baptist Church and is currently serving on the executive team at Biblical Ministries Worldwide.

View Details

This Sunday we will explore another key text that gives insight on living our Christian life. Colossians 3:1-17 reminds us of our identity in Jesus Christ and the subsequent response to this glorious position as children of God.

View Details

This week we will investigate one of the most famous passages in the Bible. In Romans 12:1-2, Paul calls believers to be living sacrifices.  On account of God's mercy to us, we must present our lives to God.

View Details

This Sunday we will continue our Core Values Series by examining Faithful Stewardship.  When stewardship is mentioned, our minds gravitate to how we use our money, but stewardship is much more than that. It involves every aspect of our lives because nothing we have, nothing we have accomplished or dream of doing is possible apart from God's gracious, overflowing generosity towards us. To prepare for this Sunday, we recommend reading 2 Corinthians 8.

View Details

Our core value of faithful stewardship states that we generously invest our God-given resources to further His eternal purposes. But why would we live that way? What would motivate us to that kind of life? What promises of God would even spur us on to sacrificial generosity? Take some time to read through Philippians 4:14-20 in preparation for our study together this Sunday.

View Details

It's trendy to speak of finding contentment through minimalistic living, simplifying, and decluttering, but what does the Bible reveal to be the secret of true contentment? This Sunday we will return to our study of Philippians and consider verses 4:10-13.

View Details

Our minds are often dominated by a relentless stream of information, but followers of Jesus cannot allow our thoughts to be held captive by this world. If God's peace is going to guard us, we must intentionally set our minds on the things of God. Meditate on Philippians 4:8-9 as you prepare for our gathering Sunday.

View Details

On Sunday, we will return to the Embracing Our Mission series and consider another one of the priorities we must embrace as a church if we are going to fulfill our God-given mission. In preparation, it would be helpful if you read Ephesians 1:1-4:16 and consider why spiritual unity is so vital.

View Details

As we come to the final sections of Philippians, Paul continues his focus on this church being together for the gospel. This week we will consider two specific instructions in Philippians 4:4-5. Take a few moments to consider these commands and ask God to help our church to continue to grow in these areas.

View Details

Our Membership Covenant states the following:

We commit to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace by walking in humility, gentleness, and patience, and to walk together in love by putting away all bitterness, anger, and hurtful speech, always ready to pursue reconciliation and forgiveness.

In Philippians 4, Paul draws our attention to the need for this type of commitment. Read Philippians 4:2-3 in preparation for our study this Sunday.

View Details

Is it possible for this worldto influence professing believers so much that they would give up on following the Lord? The Apostle Paul seems to indicate that it is a danger. Take a few moments to read through Philippians 3:17-4:1 and consider the focus believers need in order to "stand firm in the Lord."

View Details

There is nothing passive about the Christian life. To maintain an eternal perspective and not get distracted by earthly values takes focus, effort, and commitment. Read through Philippians 3:12-16 and consider how Paul describes this.

View Details

In Philippians 3:4-9, Paul trashed depending on his pedigree and performance to make him right with God for the surpassing worth of knowing Jesus by faith. In verses 10-11, he describes the benefits of knowing and being found in Christ. Take a few moments to read and think through Philippians 3:1-11 as we prepare for our time in the Word together this Sunday.

View Details

Last week we learned that when it comes to being made right with God, we can put no confidence in our flesh. In fact, if we were to compare the value of our own efforts to be made right with God and the value of knowing Jesus by faith, we would find that our efforts actually bankrupt us! No wonder Paul would say that knowing Jesus by faith is of surpassing value! Read through Philippians 3:4-9 in preparation for our study this Sunday.

View Details

Since the fall, human beings have looked to their own performance and achievements to somehow make themselves worthy and gain access to God. But in the book of Philippians, the Apostle Paul gives very strong warnings regarding those who put their confidence in the flesh. Read through Philippians 3:1-6 in preparation for our time together this Sunday.

View Details

In the book of Philippians, Paul encourages the church to a unity that comes through sacrificial others-centered service. He has usedexamples of Jesus, himself, and Timothy. This week we will see the example of Epaphroditus. Read Philippians 2:25-30 as we prepare to meet together.

View Details

We look forward to a special time together this Sunday! Be sure to arrive early to mix and mingle at our breakfast fellowship. In our main gathering, we will consider the wonder of the incarnation and celebrate the hope that we have in Jesus!

View Details

We talk a lot about unity within the church. However, it's much more significant than people getting along and being nice to each other. In Philippians 2, the Apostle Paul reminds us that there is something much bigger at stake! Read through Philippians 2:12-18 to see the main concern for unity.

View Details

In the book of Philippians, Paul has been challenging the church to a gospel-centered unity. Last week we considered the mindset of Jesus, who did not exploit His position as God, instead, He took on human flesh and sacrificially served. This week we will see how Paul continues his challenge by describing the exaltation of Jesus. Meditate on Philippians 2:9-11 and consider what Jesus' exaltation means for us as a church as we pursue unity for the sake of the gospel.

View Details

In Philippians 2, we were reminded that being together for the gospel requires church members to live in a focused, harmonious, loving, selfless, humble, others-centered mindset. In order for us to live that way, we must first consider Jesus. Take some time to meditate on Philippians 2:1-8 before this Sunday.

View Details

Recently in our series through Philippians, we were reminded of the necessity to stand firm in one spirit, with one mind striving side by side for the faith of the gospel. Now, Paul is going to begin giving the way for us to present the g

Followers of Jesus 'go to church', right? But what's the point? Why not stay home and listen to a sermon online or stream worship music while you lay in bed? What's so essential about Christians assembling together as a body? This Sunday we will pick back up with the Embracing Our Mission series. In preparation, meditate on Hebrews 10:23-25 and consider why assembling together is so vital.

View Details

With a world that is growing more opposed to the gospel, how are we as followers of Jesus going to be able to stand firm and see the gospel advance? That's exactly what Paul addresses in the next section of our study in Philippians, read Philippians 1:27-30 and consider what Paul highlights as crucial for gospel-advance and what it would mean for us as a church today.

View Details

We will be studying Philippians 1:12-19 in our Sunday morning gathering. Take a few moments to read through the passage and consider what it is that enabled Paul to rejoice, even in the middle of a number of "unfavorable" circumstances.

Have you ever taken the time to evaluate how you pray and what you pray for? What kind of priorities tend to fill your prayers? This week, we will return to our series on the book of Philippians and look into the priorities of the Apostle Paul as he prays for the church at Philippi. In preparation for this Sunday, read through Philippians 1:3-11.

View Details

Last week in our series on Embracing Our Mission we identified 7 vital signs for us to be able to evaluate our health as a church. This Sunday we will look more in-depth at our foundational core value, Biblical Truth. Read through Isaiah 55:6-13 and 2 Timothy 3:15-4:4 and consider both the necessity and the sufficiency of the Word for our church.

View Details

Doctors use a set of vital signs to evaluate the health of a body, but how do we determine the health of our church body? Is there a set of vital signs or are we just left up to our own ideas? This Sunday we will return to our series on Embracing Our Mission and consider the biblical objectives that help us evaluate the health of our church as we seek to fulfill the mission.

View Details

This Sunday, we continue to journey through Philippians in our sermon series Together for the Gospel. We will see evidence to the fact that Paul had a deep, enduring friendship and partnership with the Philippian church.  Read Philippians 1:3-8 and meditate on the deep affection that Paul felt toward this local church. What was the source of this commitment? I trust God will use this text to help our church continue to grow in unity and love for one another as we live our lives for the Gospel.

Jesus established and authorized His assemblies as outposts of His Kingdom in this world. That means what we do as a church can never be driven by personal preferences, cultural expectations, or pragmatic creativity. Our church must be governed and guided by Scripture to understand who we are and what we are supposed to do.

This Sunday, we will refocus on the mission God has given to us as a church. Pray that God will work in each individual member to once again embrace this mission personally and commit to extend His mission purposefully in this world. We trust each member will commit to gathering with the church both Sunday morning and Sunday evening this week!

In our fast-paced crazy-busy society, rest is one thing we all long for but it just seems so elusive. Far from vacation or days off, the idea of rest in the Bible is much more significant and beautiful. This Sunday we will consider what God has in mind for us and why His rest is so vital. Read Matthew 11:28-12:8 and Hebrews 4:1-10 in preparation for our time together.
