He has also submitted 7 patent, out of which 2 have already been published and holds over a 100 paper publications in national and international journal conferences.

Well, let's start with the basic!

Could you provide our audience an overview of Robotics and Robots?
Robotics is a multidisciplinary subject that involves computer science, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering and many other sciences. Robot is a rep-programmable machine. Robot has three main functions think, act, sense.

Well, now that we know about Robots, could you through some light on the various types of Robots and which one do you think would the the most common ones?
Generally we have Unmanned Arial Vehicles, Underwater Vehicles. But based on applications we have Industrial Robots, Healthcare Robots, Space Robots, Rescue Robots etc.

Now that we know a lot about the robots, can you tell us about the architecture design or the Technology behind making it?
There are three main Components:
Mechanical System: CAD, drive systems, wheels, body, suspension etc.
Electrical System: Electric CAD, Micro Controllers, power systems, Control System etc.
Software System: Programming Languages, Image Processing, ROS etc.

However, our audience might want to know as of how can anyone even without any prior experience of robot-designing, make his/her own robot? Could you tell us some methods of making a basic Robot?
I have given 100+ webinars on how to build a basic robot. The construction of robot depends on the application, drive system ,sensor, micro-controller, battery. The basic robot is a line follower robot that follows a particular line.

I have designed a DIY robotic kit called "LILLY BOT" that is low cost model and can de used to teach robotics, programming, AI, and many advanced technologies to people and is very easy to use. All people above 10 years can use this and learn from this.

While we see a lot of articles on the future being taken over by Robots, what are your views on the future of robots and human race?
Future will be dominated by robotics and the advancements in robotics will definitely overshadow humans.

As you have done some significant advances to educating children about robotics to working with startups in this field, what do you think is the motivational factor behind your interest? Or the story behind you?
When i saw Honda robot for the first time during my childhood I was very much influenced by it and this sparked an interest in me to pursue robotics.

What is your reason for choosing a government school?
Basically, I am from a government school and I have seen that people there lack the resources but not the fire to perform. So, I want to empower these children with the resources and create rural innovators and that is my aim which I want to achieve in the future

What is job theory? How exactly did it come into existence?

Graeber, a professor at the London School of Economics and a founding member of the Occupy Wall Street movement, has a new book called Bullshit Jobs: A Theory. He claims that millions of individuals around the world are toiling away in worthless, unnecessary jobs and are aware of it.

According to him, Bullshit jobs are jobs that even the people who do them can't truly justify their existence, but they have to pretend there's a purpose for them to exist. That's when the nonsense comes in. Many people mix up the terms "bullshit job" and "shit job," but they're not the same thing.

Awful jobs are bad because they are difficult, have poor working conditions, or pay poorly.In reality, in our society, the more valuable the task, the lower the remuneration. Bullshit jobs, on the other hand, are generally well-liked and well-paid, but they are absolutely useless, and the individuals who perform them are well aware of this.

He says as technology has progressed to the point where machines can now undertake the majority of complex, labor-intensive jobs. Instead of breaking free from the oppressive 40-hour workday, we've created an entire universe of pointless jobs that are both professionally and spiritually useless.

How are these jobs emotionally and spiritually corrosive?

We're always taught that people want anything for nothing, which makes it simple to condemn poor people and disparage the assistance system because everyone is lazy at heart and wants to take advantage of others.

However, the truth is that many people are being given large sums of money to do nothing with. This is true for the majority of middle-management roles, and the people who work in them are absolutely dissatisfied since they know their work is a waste of time.

The researchers discovered strong evidence of a link between a person's psychological well-being and their assessment of their job as pointless, although a correlation rather than a direct link. In 2015, workers in the United Kingdom who did not believe their employment was beneficial scored significantly lower on the WHO Well-Being Index than those who believed they were doing useful work (a mean average of 49.3 compared with 64.5)

Is the loss of vital employment as a result of automation a good or negative thing?

They could potentially be replaced with those who do not have work. Great economists like John Maynard Keynes predicted that by the end of the century, technology would have advanced to the point where we would have a 15-hour workweek, but this did not happen. Instead, we continued to manufacture nonsense jobs.

What if : We simply accepted that technology can handle many of the necessary duties and worked less? Spent more time doing what we really love to do instead of pretending to work for 40 hours a week at an office?

Will people be happier if these bullshit jobs are removed from existence?

There are numerous cultures in which people work three or four hours every day. During harvest season, you'd labour 12 hours a day, and during the off-season, you'd work two or three hours. The ordinary mediaeval serf worked far less than we do, and tribal civilizations around the world are no different.

What is chip storage?

A chip shortfall which occurs when demand for silicon chips exceeds supply in the integrated circuit industry. It is also known as a semiconductor scarcity or a chip famine.

What is this chaos with chip shortage?

Global market is witnessing chip shortage in almost all sectors. Qualcomm Inc is one of the big chipmakers that is having difficulty keeping up with demand. The chip shortage is hurting supply lines to clients, according to Apple Inc.'s main supplier, Foxconn.

Currently, the majority of chip production takes place in Asia, where big contract manufacturers such as Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co Ltd (TSMC) and Samsung handle production of hundreds of semiconductor companies.

The shortage situation is majorly because of a few reasons.

1.Fire at Japan’s Renesas Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. Ltd. on March 19.

2.Chip manufacturing disruption in Texas from the severe weather in February.

3.Indicates a sudden spike in demand for electronic products because of Work from Home culture.

Due to the deployment of the 5G smartphone and trade penalties imposed by the US on China prior to the pandemic, Huawei, one of China's largest 5G smartphone manufacturers, was unable to purchase processors after a set period of time. So, they put large purchase orders keeping foundries busy.

What are the effects of chip shortage?

The highly affected sector is the automobile industry. It is estimated that chip shortage can impact around 1.3 million units of global light vehicle production. Automobiles have become increasingly reliant on chips.

Many companies have been compelled to reduce production of less profitable automobiles as a result of the crisis.

According to AutoForecast, the chip shortfall has resulted in Ford pulling 324,616 vehicles from production, GM pulling 277,966 cars from manufacturing plans, and Stellantis cutting output by 252,193 units as a result of the deficit. The shortage has cost Honda, Nissan, Subaru, Toyota, and Volkswagen between 20,000 and 46,000 units. According to the research, Volvo had the fewest vehicles affected by the chip shortage, with only 1287.

According to another survey, semiconductor scarcity has an impact on a staggering 169 industries.

How to deal with it; now and for the long term?

Biden ordered a government-wide 100-day supply chain review focused on semiconductor production and sophisticated packaging, essential minerals, medical supplies, and high-capacity batteries to address the shortage in the United States. America must also increase its investment in advanced semiconductor research and development.

IBM has long aided in the strengthening of the US microelectronics supply chain, and it has recently begun laying the groundwork for an ecosystem to help secure and advance the US microelectronics supply chain, as well as leading the charge on domestic next-generation AI chips and systems innovation to meet future needs.

There will, however, be no quick remedy. The supply of semiconductors will eventually catch up with market demand, but there will be some short-term hardship.

Who is an intermediary as per the IT Act? What are their obligations?

Intermediaries are entities that provide services enabling the delivery of online content to the end user. Let us look at the players involved in this chain:

Section 2 (w) of the Information Technology Act,2000 (IT Act, 2000) :
Defines Intermediaries as - “intermediary”, with respect to any particular electronic records, means any person who on behalf of another person receives, stores or transmits that record or provides any service with respect to that record.

Intermediaries and liability for user generated content:
The best illustration for the liability of intermediaries is the Baazee case in which Avnish Bajaj, the CEO of Baazee.com, an auction portal, was arrested for an obscene MMS clip that was put up for sale on the site by a user. The Baazee case showed the legal risks that corporates in the online business space could be exposed to.

The Baazee.com case resulted in an appeal by the industry to amend the Information Technology Act, 2000 by providing protection to intermediaries from liabilities arising out of user-generated content. The Information Technology (Amendment) Act, 2008 amended Section 79 of the It Act, 2000 to provide for a safe – harbour protection to intermediaries.

The safe harbour protection available to intermediaries is conditional upon their observing “due diligence” while discharging their duties and observing guidelines issued by the Government in this regard. These guidelines have now been issued in the form of the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines) Rules, 2021

How do the intermediary rules operate?

● The new intermediary rules mandate the intermediaries to impose a set of rules and regulations on users.

● Any person aggrieved by any content on the internet can ask the intermediaries to take down such content. Intermediaries are obliged to remove access to such content within a period of 36 hours from the time of receipt of the complaint.

● The intermediaries that do not comply with take-down notice loses the protection from any legal liability that could arise over user content.

● The Rules mandate that intermediaries have to co-operate with government agencies and provide information to them for the purpose of verification of identity, or for prevention, detection, investigation, prosecution etc when a request has been made by the agency in writing.

What are the chilling effects of IT Act?

● The rules empower the Government agencies to obtain information of users from intermediaries. This power granted to the Government agencies do not have any system of checks and balances to safeguard the interests of users. The rules also mandate the intermediaries to inform the users that their services can be terminated if they violate the terms of service. This provision could have far serious consequences than the three strikes legislation that has been introduced in countries like France, South Korea and Taiwan.

● The Intermediary rules, in short, affect the right to freedom of speech and expression of the users.

We are witnessing several e-commerce startups coming under the radar of IT. How are IT laws relevant for e-commerce businesses?

● IT Act was enacted in the year 2000, to recognize electronic transactions and records so as to ensure a safe and regulated electronic world after witnessing a spike in e-commerce businesses. It was enacted during a time when there was no framework for regulating transactions initiated over internet.

● IT Act was the answer to all cyber crimes which went undetected and not prosecuted in the course of several ecommerce transactions.

● This is an act to provide legal recognition for transactions carried out by means of electronic data interchange and other means of electronic communication, commonly referred to as ecommerce, to facilitate electronic filing of documents with govt agencies and further to amend IPC, IEA and Bankers Book Evidence Act and RBI Act.

● IT Act seeks to secure electronic records by recommending reasonable safety standards to ensure secure electronic data and sensitive personal information of users.

● The major part of IT laws also emphasise on intermediary guidelines and monitoring the structure of data collection and processing.

● IT laws also make it feasible for ecommerce to sign documents digitally and electronically to bind the parties to an electronic contract which is covered by the principles laid down by the Indian Contract Act 1872.

Is there any difference between digital signature and electronic signature?

Yes, there’s a vast difference between the two. IT Act plays a major role in defining the said words.

IT Act 2000 enunciates that a digital signature is primarily composed of a private key and a public key using hash and algorithmic functions. It is more secured compared to the electronic signature. Digital signatures can be issued by way of certificates from certifying authorities who are authorised by the authorities under IT Ministry to empower them to issue digital certificates. Digital signatures will ensure greater encryption of the electronic record.

Electronic signatures on the other hand are of various kinds. It can be a mere “clickwrap”, tick the box, using the actual signature on an electronic document etc. These signatures are more prone to manipulations and tampering. However, IT Act also recognises electronic signatures as a means of authentication of electronic records.

Our phones, laptops, watches, and almost every other essential product, all are battery operated. And this is only going to increase. So, big companies are finding ways to build the bridge between technology and fast charging. They have achieved some phenomenal leads.

NAWA Technologies has created and patented an Ultra Fast Carbon Electrode, which the company claims will revolutionize the battery industry. It employs a vertically aligned carbon nanotube design, which NAWA claims may increase battery power by tenfold, energy storage by threefold, and battery lifespan by fivefold. Electric vehicles will be the biggest beneficiaries, as they will reduce the carbon footprint and cost of battery production while improving performance. According to NAWA, a 1000km range might become the standard, with charging durations of only 5 minutes to reach 80%.

Researchers at N1 Technologies, Inc. introduced tungsten and carbon multi-layered nanotubes to battery anode materials, which link to the copper anode substrate and form a web-like nano structure. During recharge and discharge cycles, this creates a large surface for additional ions to adhere to. This allows the NanoBolt lithium tungsten battery to be recharged faster while also storing more energy.

A team from the DOE's Pacific Northwest National Laboratory investigated standard assumptions and discovered an unanticipated chemical conversion reaction in a zinc-manganese oxide battery. If that process can be regulated, traditional batteries' energy density can be increased without raising their cost. As a result, the zinc-manganese oxide battery could be a viable replacement for lithium-ion and lead-acid batteries.

Researchers at the University of California, Irvine, who were looking for a better electrolyte for lithium ion batteries, experimented with gels, which are less flammable than liquids. They experimented with manganese dioxide coating gold nanowires and then covered them with electrolyte gel. Normally, nanowires are too delicate to be used in batteries, but these have proven to be durable. When the researchers charged the resulting electrode, they discovered that it could hold a charge for 200,000 cycles without losing it.

TankTwo explored modularizing a battery as a method to turn hours of battery charging into minutes. Their String Cell battery is made up of a slew of microscopic, self-organizing cells. Each string cell is made out of a plastic container that is covered in a conductive substance that allows it to make quick and easy interactions with other string cells. The connections in the electrochemical cell are controlled by an internal processing unit. To make speedy charging of an electric vehicle possible, the battery's tiny balls are sucked out and replaced with recharged cells at the service station.

SVOLT, based in Changzhou, China, has announced the production of cobalt-free batteries for the electric vehicle industry. Aside from lowering rare earth metals, the company claims that they have a higher energy density, which might result in electric car ranges of up to 800 kilometers while also boosting battery life and safety.

“Oxygen Concentrators”

But first let’s find out what an oxygen concentrator is?

An oxygen concentrator is a device that selectively removes nitrogen from a gas supply and provides oxygen-enriched gas stream. The industries require oxygen of 99.5% purity and for medical purposes the oxygen concentration needs to be around 90-95%.

What is ISRO’s ‘Shwaas’ and how does it work?

The Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) said that its rocket Centre VSSC has created the 'Shwaas' medical oxygen concentrator, which can give an enriched level of oxygen (over 95%) than in air to help patients with respiratory illnesses. It can deliver enriched oxygen at a rate of 10 litres per minute, which is enough for two patients at once.

Moving on, let me introduce you to a Remotely controlled Low-Cost Medical Oxygen Plant.

The CSIR has created a medical oxygen generating machine that can be controlled remotely via the Internet of Things. The facility was built by the Indian Institute of Petroleum in Dehradun by tweaking an existing Pressure Swing Absorption (PSA) technology. This facility produces 0.2 tonnes of medical-grade oxygen per day at 5 atmospheres pressure at a rate of 100 litres per minute (LPM).The plant reached a purity level of 96 percent of oxygen.

The plant is smaller and consumes around 10% less energy. Its operating costs are half that of a similar number of cylinders.

Lieutenant Commander Mayank Sharma has developed an Oxygen Recycling System. The ORS is designed to extend the life of the existing medical oxygen cylinders to 2-4 times. Therefore, the oxygen recycling cylinder is a boon in difficult times like these. It is expected to save almost 3000 INR everyday.

Tata Group announced that it would acquire 24 cryogenic containers to deliver liquid oxygen, to help alleviate the shortfall.

Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) has also pledged to expand liquid oxygen supply to states like Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, and Gujarat to around 700 metric tons per day.

Jindal Steel and Power has pledged to provide 500 metric tons of oxygen and is actively delivering it to hospitals in need.

IFFCO, a multinational fertilizer company, announced that it will build four oxygen plants in the next 15 days at a cost of around Rs 30 crore

Another business, Paradeep Phosphates Limited (PPL), has decided to deploy three pressure swing adsorption (PSA) oxygen

Polaris Inc. announced a grant financing assistance programme for its clients who require passenger and utility cars in August 2019. According to the corporation, the support programme would assist clients in conducting research and obtaining reviews on vehicles via their own websites. The platform is a dedicated automotive solution designed to assist our clients in overcoming obstacles and completing tasks swiftly and effectively. Grant money, on the other hand, is critical for securing financing for vehicle purchases. Similarly, various companies are concentrating on increasing micro EV sales by providing unique solutions around the world.

Fastenal has created a presence in the vending market with over 100,000 active devices for its industrial vending programme. We have been hearing about 5G for quite some time! But what is it actually and why it brings in a digital revolution?

What is 5G?

As the name suggests, 5G is the fifth generation of a mobile network. It is a wireless technology with the idea of combining machines, devices, and other objects virtually.

**There are several companies that are working to bring 5G to life. Among all, Qualcomm holds the top position for inventing many foundational technologies that will develop the new wireless standard.

5G will be used to give a better VR and AR experience with faster and uniform data rates. There will be a possibility of controlling infrastructure and medical operations with the help of 5G.

How fast will 5G be?**

**5G is considered 10 -100 times faster than the 4G network we were using. It is expected to deliver the highest data rates up to 20Gbps. The reason behind 5G is faster than ever is the use of short frequencies. For the 5th generation, millimeter waves in the range of 30GHz to 300GHz are being used.

Telstra worked in collaboration with Qualcomm and Ericsson to achieve a maximum download speed of 5Gbps on a commercial network for a single user. A smartphone form factor test device was used for the testing. It was powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon X60 5G modem-RF system. The mmWave antenna modules used were 3rd generation Qualcomm QTM535.

Why switch to 5G from 4G?**

The 5G or the 5th generation technology is going to be the revolution in the mobile network. Apart from the usual mobile networks, it is going to involve IoT and provide an experience beyond previous mobile experiences.

1. 5G is expected to give real-time interactions while using cloud services. This is possible because of the low-latency. Self-driving vehicles are a reality because of this feature.

2. 5G will be able to connect at least 100 more devices as compared to 4G mobile networks in the given area.

3. 5G is designed to work virtually at a faster rate, which wasn’t possible with the 4G networks.

4. 5G has a faster download link than the 4G network.

5. With the insanely high speed. People will now don’t have to wait hours to download a 1-hour long video, it will be done in like 50 seconds or even less. How amazing is that!

What are some hidden secrets of 5G?

There are certain challenges that can block the growth of 5G networks. But the officials are trying to cover them. The first and most important one is the requirement of a bulky structure.

To use 5G networks, we will need to install small cell units at a distance of a few hundred feet. As you know 5G will work on short-range signals, so these small units can’t be neglected.

According to Professor John William Frank, the radiofrequency electromagnetic field generated because of the 5G setup will cause a harmful impact on the health of people living in nearby areas.

Another problem is that 5G will need up to 1000 times more energy than what we are using now. This can cause a sudden increase in the demand for energy which isn’t easy to manage.

The energy consumption is expected to increase by 150-170% times by the year 2026, i.e., 5 years down the line. It totally depends on us if we want a higher data speed for such a higher price!
