We discuss the series finale and whether or not it was satisfying for most people. We talk about what might have made it better and what was spot on. Why we think Alannah (Rainee Blake) was the best new character (it’s not because she did our podcast– but check it out #65). Brad’s #metoo moment and all the wonderful songs!! We enjoyed this episode, although no Gunner and no Will. The acting by Charles Esten was outstanding once again. There were some annoyances and that was mostly due to continuity errors and lack of detail. Al and I still don’t think Gideon is as redeemed as he says he is. Any chance Daphne gets voted out of Nashville’s Next? Not a chance.

Where did mean Juliette go this episode? Thought for sure she was going to take Allanah or Avery to task.

Scarlett is getting her mojo back. She started to write a song. Will she sing it with Gunner?

Good to see Jessie!! Oh and Hallie is back.

Wow! What a dramatic episode! We can’t say enough about the acting jobs by Charles Esten and Ronny Cox in this episode. We could feel the pain from Deacon and his Dad Gideon. We look forward to more scenes from these two actors.

“Cliff Notes” summary. Deacon’s Dad comes to town and says he is there just to start over. He doesn’t want a thing. After flashbacks and convincing by Maddie, Gideon ends up at Deacon and the girl’s house.

Allanah is promised to be featured for Shiny New Records and Brad says he is negotiating a tour with the Lumineers (That’s so 2012). Allanah is convinced (so are we) that Brad wants more than a professional relationship. He acts like that Weinstein fella by having his secretary set up “meetings”. Allanah says no and all of a sudden the tour is cancelled.

Scarlett convinces Sean to sing and causes more tension between Sean and his wife. She makes amends by taking Sean home so Angela and Sean can talk. Things go from bad to worse when Sean has a PTSD attack and threatens suicide. Scarlett without any formal training gets called by the wife and she convinces Sean to live another day without ending his life.

Will, Gunner and Avery add comic relief.

Avery is caught in a compromising position when Juliette comes home from Camp Bolivia.

We are back in the saddle and ready to bring you the last 8 episodes of NashvilleCMT. We both enjoyed the episode but were a little disappointed that we got no Juliette.

Brief synapses:

After collapsing on stage, We find out that Will did not have a heart attack but he has a heart infection caused by his steroid use. He is supposed to take it easy for a while which means no exercising and no touring with the band. We quickly find out he has no intention of following doctor orders.

Deacon and Jessie spend the entire episode trying to figure out the best way to handle Brad suing for full custody of Jake.

Maddie and Jonah celebrate his birthday with a jealous Twig in the background. Jonah hides the fact he is still in conversation with his ex–Mia. This wont end well.

Gunner is starting his clingy thing he always does with Alannah. Instead of leveling with Gunner, she goes to check on a depressed Avery who is dealing with the fact his wife left him to join a cult. Avery and Alannah get drunk and dance and flirt and both fall asleep. The paparazzi that are waiting for Avery, get a nice photo of her leaving his place and assume that Avery has moved on with his band mate. Gunner sees this in social media and believes the same. He confronts Avery and gets an accidental guitar to the nose for his troubles. Boy, this wont end well either.

In other news, we barely see Scarlett and Zach is back (he heard about Will). Maddie decides not to move out and leave Daphne and Deacon.

After a long couple of weeks, we are back!! Fresh off our trip to Nashville, we discuss the last 2 episodes including the mid season finale. Allison & Joe both agree that episode 7 was a dud and we spend little time covering the “highlights”.  We do get into the mid-season finale heavily and also talk about the overall season so far and how this mid-season finale compares to other seasons.  We give our theories on how it all wraps up and what would make the ending satisfying.  This is definitely an extended episode you want to download or stream.

Oh Gunnar! What have you done? We talk about episode 6 entitled ‘Beneath Still Waters’. We both liked the episode and thought the Jessie and Daphne scene stole the episode. @KaitlinDDay was our episode MVP.

Cliff Notes—Alannah is a social media hit. Avery and Gunnar decide that she should play a bigger role but Will is not too keen on the idea and cares only about his “vitamins”. Avery has accepted that Juliette left to Bolivia. Daphne is tired of being dragged around by Deacon and Jessie and gives a little sass at the Art Walk. Deacon notices and vows to nip this in the bud. Meanwhile at the Equine therapy center, Scarlett seems really interested in Sean-the army vet suffering from PTSD. So much so that she stalks him on social media where she finds a performance posted that really knocks her socks off. When she leaves the Last Highways show (presumable jealous of Gunnar), she sees a drunk Sean and invites him to sleep it off at her place. He cant listen to his own music anymore since his musical friend was killed in Kanduhar. She gives Sean advice–Who does it help if you give up what you love? (take your own advise, please). Alannah makes a move on Gunnar and because he is an idiot, he goes for it. The next day at rehearsal, the others figure it out and while Gunnar says its casual, the other boys know better. Deacons dinner with Jessie, Jake and Daphne goes about as well as one would expect, however, Jessie solves this issue by talking to Daphne and telling her she can never replace her Mom. Scarlett gets validation as Sean sings the next day.

We both feel this episode might be the best so far in its young season. Chip really brought his “A” game for his acting performance.

Cliff Notes—The boys decide they need a woman in the band to hit the high notes. Maddie gets upset at Jonah after his ex puts out a video song disparaging her. Deacon and Jessie want to take things up a notch but have difficulty finding the time and place at first. Juliette is asked by Darius to give back by helping others—in Bolivia!. She and Avery do not see eye to eye on this even if its for just 2 weeks. Boys discover Alana and ask her to be in the band where Gunnar promptly asks if she has a boyfriend—or a dog. Deacon has an issue as he is overwhelmed with emotion and cannot go through with sleeping with Jessie. Jessie feels self-conscious since she is not Rayna. Progress is made as Deacon tells Jessie he feels close to her. Avery and Juliette appear to have settled the Bolivia thing and they have a night of passion, but Avery wakes up the next morning alone with Juliette no where in sight.

Another episode that took a second watch to fully enjoy. Before listening to this Podcast, make sure you bid on our show T-Shirt signed by Charles Esten at Ebay. 100% proceeds go to NEABPD.

Cliff notes—The boys don’t believe they are in sync (see what I did there?). Avery is put off when Juliette mentions something she read as inspiration. Scarlett goes to Equine therapy and meets lady who treated Tom Cruise like crap in ‘Cocktail’. Before long Scarlett ends up cleaning the stables. She saves the nephew of the boss lady and now gets to ride. The boys argue over songs and lyrics. Juliette goes to the “church” and relives her past. Daphne gets into trouble with Jake at school. The boys have a breakthrough and decide to have fun. Juliette has a breakthrough remembering that she was a victim of sexual abuse as a child.

This was a highly emotional episode that was much better after a second watch. We do have lofty expectations for this show being the last season and all so while good, we did expect more.

Cliff Notes–Zach tells Deacon he wants to make a change and run for Senate in California but don’t worry he will still fund the company. Will is a little out of sorts when he gets the news. Maddie and Jonah meet again and he wants her to sing on his new album. Deacon and Jessie’s plan for a slow indoctrination to the kids is ruined as Daphne runs into them after school. Very awkward. Will works out and meets a hook up. Turns out Will has trouble performing and not the music kind of performing if you know what we mean. He sees a doctor right away to get help (Viagra), but the doctor wants to get samples to make sure it isnt something else. Busted. Doctor tells him to stop with the steroids and he agrees just long enough to do more when he gets home. Deacon and Jessie both pull back and finally get together when Deacon shows up at her house unannounced. Avery continues to be bothered by Juliette trusting in the “movement”. Scarlett decides on a path after watching TV. Gunnar has a way with walking in on folks.

If you like fun one liners, this was the episode for you! This episode had some very good and humorous moments. There was also some awkward moments as well.

The Cliff Notes—Deacon runs into Jessie at the market while Scarlett avoids Gunnar. Scarlett gives Deacon the idea to ask Jessie for a date. Will and Gunnar enjoy making music. Juliette decides to check out the Movement of Coherent Philosophy and finds out she gets treated like everyone else and this too can be hers for 30% of her income plus manual labor. Scarlett is having trouble deciding whether she should continue to make music or help people in another sort of way. Avery gets “kidnapped” and enjoys playing with the new supergroup including Will and Gunnar. Deacon goes on the worst date ever but still gets the kiss from Jessie. Daphne sets herself up for disappointment as she and Jake are glad their parents did not date. (oops). Juliette looks like she needs to make a tough decision.

Welcome to the new season of everybody’s favorite CMT show, Nashville. Unfortunately, its also the last season. Let’s hope for 16 solid episodes. This episode was a good start and we discuss our likes and dislikes and where we think things will go moving forward. In this episode’s “Cliff Notes”, Maddie gets a call to perform at a benefit in LA. Deacon is mildly upset that it will be New Year’s Eve when she is gone but gives her his blessing as long as Scarlett is a chaperone. Juliette is super stressed and has been having a difficult time since she admitted to stealing Maddie’s song for herself. Gunnar is having trouble being creative on his own. Will still misses Zach. Juliette shuts down a performance after half a song due to hecklers. Scarlett is also having trouble missing Gunnar. Everyone Tells Deacon its time he put himself out there on the dating scene (Where is Jessie?). Maddie meets Jonah Ford (Evidently, he is hotter than the Bieb). Juliette meets Darius Wright who runs the Church of Coherent Philisophy (a cult?, a movement?–we shall see). Juliette is intrigued and is vulnerable and when she uses his advice, she is all in. Will saves Gunnar when he stumbles during a performance. Family makes it back just in time to wish Deacon a Happy New Year!

Worth the wait!! We discuss the Season 5 finale. We both really liked the episode, however we both thought for a season finale, we should have gotten more.

What happened you ask? Deacon finds out that Zach is angry about the no branding and decides to pull their funding including paying the light bill. Luckily, Deacon can use the studios at Trax. Will lets Zach know that he is disappointed that Zach would go against his friends who accepted him unconditionally. Avery is still being hit on by Polly while Juliette is dealing with the song stealing aftermath. Deacon finds out about Juliette stealing Maddie’s song and vows that if he saves Hwy 65, Juliette is out! Gunnar and Scarlett finally “talk”. Gunnar grows a pair and breaks up with Scarlett (for good? again?, who knows?!) Daphne goes to a party and meets Jessie’s son Jake (mommas boy–Flynn has nothing to worry about). Brad has an alternative for Zach and Alyssa. Speaking of Alyssa, somehow she manages to kiss Deacon–(because he needed it). Jessie and Deacon have a long goodbye and just when it seems a spark might turn to fire, nothing happens between them (next season folks). Juliette tries to do the right thing and exposes Zach while trying to make right with the rest of Hwy 65 using the nosey reporter lady from an episode or two ago. Maybe it works when Deacon sees the real Zach and still offers them to be partners. (Somehow I don’t think this is long term as long as Jessie’s Ex Brad is around.) Maddie gets to sing her hit at the AMAs but loses best song to Katy Perry and she is OK with it. Avery heads home when he finds out what Juliette did and he supports her because he loves her.

Wow!! The show knocked our socks off this week!!. Plenty of good music and tension. We actually got to hear Rachel Bilson sing!!.

Deacon gets a text and he is wanted by the Opry to perform in the round as a solo artist. He tells everyone about trying to decide but ultimately its Jessie that convinces him to do it. Maddie gets a branding gig with Mascara 24. After much difficulty getting the director to be happy with her performance, she gets the bomb dropped on her that they want her to change the lyrics to include the name of the mascara. All hell breaks loose and Deacon is told by Zach to get his daughter in line or he will leave the company taking his money with him. Deacon meets with Highway 65 talent (except for Juliette and Hallie-remember her?) It is decided that this branding thing is overrated and not what Rayna had in mind for the company. Zach is PO’d. Jessie helps Deacon get a much deserved hour of rest before he kills it on stage at the Opry.

In other news, Avery and Juliette have their issues which is made slightly worse by the no bra wearin’ tour manager. (it’s cold on the tour bus). Nothing happens but things are still up in the air.

Quite frankly, this episode didn’t really do it for us. We question with 3 episodes left in the season, why give us what felt like a “filler” episode? We did like that it was a Gunnar centric episode since both he and Will have been absent much of the season.

Maddie gets nominated for an AMA (against Katy Perry & Juliette Barnes). Gunnar goes to his hometown to see the grandmother that raised him. Deacon helps Jessie with a song. Scarlett takes a self-defense class. Brad is still an A-hole. Gunnar has flashbacks about his parents dying, brother running away, and Grandma Dearest! Maddie gives Juliette shade.

We talk about the Nashville USA tour and opening night in Orlando. We meet Chip for the 3rd time. He still is the coolest dude on the planet!!

Then we recap Ep 19. Nobody does sad like show-runners Marshall H & Ed Z. This episode was well written and acted. The drama continues. Scarlett loses her baby. Juliette needs to sing a stolen song with Maddie. Deacon confides Scarlett’s issue to Jessie. Jessie meets Scarlett by accident and we discover they have much in common (She miscarried at one time too). Gunner is upset and manages to find the gun toting teen himself and beats him up. Maddie finds out about Juliette’s dishonesty in regards to her hit song and throws a drink in her face. Gunner gets an offer from Avery to join his tour in TX. Scarlett and Gunner break up AGAIN. Juliette apologizes but doesn’t get a resolution. Scarlett makes a passionate speech at a fundraiser. Montage time. We learn the name Scarlett picked out for her baby–Amelia Rose.

Mixed reviews on this episode. Some really well acted scenes (We are looking at You, Chip!) and some story lines we can do without (teen make out party? really?). Anyways, Avery goes on tour but not without cheering up his good friend Deacon. Juliette enlists the help of Kesha’s choreographer. The Exes get a commercial shoot–Not sure who cries more because of this Scarlett or Me having to watch it. Deacon agrees to auction one of Rayna’s jackets for the organization that finds Liv (nice knowing ya) a home. He also agrees to perform. Avery “kills it” on stage and celebrates a little too hard. Juliette is not happy. Not only does she find out she can no longer do her “moves” on stage, She wonders about Avery’s fidelity on the road. (Don’t worry, he’s got Yuri!)

We meet Jessie Caine’s ex-husband-also at the benefit. He is a real ass (enough said). Deacon struggles with the auction and losing a piece of Rayna. Jessie is also upset at her ex. They support each other.

Scarlett needs milk and makes Gunner stop at a convenience store where 3 thugs (whimpy looking teen white boys) rob them. The smallest has a gun and pushes Scarlett hard and pistol whips gunner after he puts the gun to his head. The “thugs” run away and Gunner comforts Scarlett who is literally crying over spilled milk. (and getting shook up).

Another solid episode.  Scarlett gets advice from Alyssa for a special concert.  Zach wants to sign Jessie.  Deacon will consider it.  Will meets with Budweiser to do a commercial.  Deacon meets with Jessie, finds a new friend.  Avery gives Hallie away to another producer for Juliette.  He decides to tour after all and Juliette doesn’t take it that well.  Scarlett gets involved with a troubled fan.  Zach has two phones and has to deal with an Ex.  Will is not having it. Deacon and Jessie have a misunderstanding about each others intentions.  Scarlett solves her reporter problem (as well as a group of teens).  Deacon is overcome with emotion as he hears a powerful song sung by Jessie.

Great Bounceback episode!! This was a very emotional episode and we look at this from all angles. Scarlet and Gunner adjust to having a baby made public. Hallie records her Album. Juliette not happy with Hallie’s choice of songs. Maddie finds out that Daphne is behind her social Media bullying. Daphne loses her phone as punishment. (oh the heartache). Juliette goes off the deep end again. Maddie and Daphne miss Mom’s ability to solve problems. Deacon has trouble managing the home situation. Scarlett spills the beans to a reporter about Damien’s fatherhood accidentally. Girls make up.

NashvilleCMT needs to find its heart—STAT!!  We dive into the last 2 episodes.  As much as it pains us, this show has lost some major steam the second half of the season so far.  We could all do without the Scarlett drama at this point.  Maddie’s character continues to be uneven showing maturity at some points but making some really dumb decisions (getting arrested).  We do like the old Juliette making her appearance.  What is the deal with bringing in a new character no one cares about (George) to go with a boring character-Hallie. Ugh, It drives us mad!! Then they get rid of a character we actually like! (Clay) We have hope but this show has got to get better on several fronts!

UGH!!! What are you doing Nashville?   We have no idea where you are going this second half of season 5.  Our synopsis.  Juliette is having trauma panic attacks not from her plane crash but because of her lousy childhood.  Avery gets an offer he may have to refuse.  Juliette lies to the church choir (she’ll burn in hell for that one–its a rule, isn’t it?)  Daphne gets mixed in the wrong crowd and invites one of then to her place.  Scarlett finally tells Damien the good news!!.  Zach wants to get rid of Bucky.

Juliette flashes to her childhood.  Choir gets mad when they find out they were lied to. Juliette wants to make amends.  Deacon allows Daphne,s friend to stay temporarily.  Bucky quits Highway 65.   Nooooooooooo!!!

We talk mid-season finale!  This appears to be the last episode of actually dealing with the death of Rayna Jaymes.  Thank Goodness!! We are all cried out!

In this episode-- Hwy 65 has a meeting and it appears as if they really need a money maker. Unfortunately, Rayna's last album is not finished. Deacon is a little aghast that Zach even suggests such a thing.  Meanwhile, Maddie gets attention from the talk show circuit due to her CMT Awards performance and Juliette agrees (insists) she can look after her while the rest of the family tries to normalize their life at home.  Deacon finds a suitcase full of old tapes and cds and tries to get through Rayna's history with the help of her diary.  Maddie is a victim of "fake news" when her words get twisted. Juliette and Scarlet disagree on Maddies opportunities.  Deacon gets inspiration from Gene's video.  Avery convinces everyone that they can help Deacon finish the record. Deacon with a little help finishes the last Rayna Jaymes record.  Zach likes what he gets.  Scarlett drops the pregnancy bomb on Gunnar.  Might not be yours.

I'll Fly Away deals with the aftermath of Rayna's death starting with her funeral,  We see small glimpses of everyone and how they are coping.  Tandy is there, Teddy is on bereavement leave and he is there.  Pam Tillis is there.  Deacon is hit the hardest.  We find out Rayna had not named a guardianship for the girls and Highway 65.  Possible court battle?  Juliette gets a job to sing a tribute to Rayna at the CMA Awards.  She is not quite well yet.  Zach and Will have a date sort of.  Big night at the CMAs. Will sings, Juliette does not.  Its Maddie with help from Daphne and Deacon that carry the tribute.  Rayna would be proud!!!  No court battle necessary. Tears galore!!!

We discuss Episode 5 "Love Hurts".  We agree this episode was not our favorite.  We will allow a couple of bombs per season and feel this is a very good candidate for that title.

In this episode:  The Exes shoot their music video with a Hollywood director who sees things much differently than Scarlett.  Maddie gets to know Clayton and sees him sing but is put off by his rejection when she tries to get physical.  Rayna finds her missing paper clip holder and addresses the issue with Bucky's help.  More Scarlett complaints.  More Maddie rejection.  Clay gets beaten by a couple of rednecks and Maddie comes to the rescue.  Will meets Zach. Rayna looks concerned about Scarlett. More Scarlett complaints.  Scarlett finally complies but she ain't happy about it. We finally see the real stalker.  Clay meets Rayna & Deacon.

Maddie.  The wheels of justice are slow everywhere but Nashville as Maddie's emancipation hearing begins.   Things look great until Maddie pulls out plan B (not that plan B).  Plan B involves using Deacons violent history obtained in the most deceitful way. Deacon and Frankie do not see eye to eye when it comes to Vita Martin. Scarlett and Gunnar agree on their first single, but Scarlett is concerned when the song chosen is pretty much all her. Avery meets a single playground Mom and scores a date.  True to Avery's character, he mucks it up when he spends the entire date talking about Juliette.  Layla will be happy. Will gets an offer to record with a gay label.  Maddie and Cash continue to bond and both Daphne and Colt get kicked to the curb.  Vita is a thief after all with a backstory.  Rayna pulls her offer as the risk outweighs the reward.  Riff gets things together after a rocky start and performs at the Beverly.  Frankie, while right about Vita, has trouble dealing with being under-appreciated by Deacon and the Nashville Music scene. We are back with another episode. It's been so long!!  Anyway, we discuss what this episode is all about; Rayna & Deacon,  Deacon & Rayna.  Will these folks ever find happiness together?  Well, dare I say for an episode-YES.  However, first you have to get through moody daughters, hating sisters, self doubt and paparazzi.  We get all that!

In a lessor note, we also find out that Will has been labeled by Wade Cole as being difficult to sleep work with.  Thanks for your 10 second screen time, Will.

Gunnar and Scarlett are still in the friend zone.  Avery is forced to lie for Juliette who is still in rehab.  This causes Avery to have a full blown panic attack.

Layla comes back to attend the Wedding and promptly learns from Colt Wheeler the truth about Jeff Fordham's death.  Me thinks we will see a very vindictive Layla from now on.

Anyway, problems aside, Deacon and Rayna exchange vows, kiss ,dance, and make love. ooooh Dreamy!!

This leaves Highway 65 in ruins. At he Beverly, the Grand Opening is a success , except for Dr Caleb who learns that Scarlet is breaking up with him. We discuss 'Please Help Me I'm Fallin'. This is one of those episodes that no matter what happened, fans are only going to talk about one thing--The demise of Jeff Fordham. We will miss you, Jeff! Our take is that this is one villain that is going to be quite hard for the show to replace. And who is going to be the new CEO of Wheeler Lifestyle Brands?

In other news, Deacon and Scarlet are still in Natchez boring us with more Beverly story. Actually, they find out Bev had friends and while not a commercial success, she was successful in her own little bar performance every Sunday night. Deacon makes a decision to buy in his sponsor's bar to honor his deceased sister.

Will decides he wants the limelight and Kevin helps him get a gig. He is devastated when it seems that he can only sing to gays in the front row when he wants to sing to everybody. Kevin has had enough of Will's melodrama.

Gunnar is a booty call. Glen answers the door with wig on. Avery deletes his wife's contact number. Juliette Barnes. Does he know more than one Juliette?

Rayna is talked into producing for Markus. It does not go well at first but Maddie helps Unlock it for him.

Colt gets drunk. goes to his balcony for a little fresh air and witnesses the Jeff thing. Poor Layla. That girl is never happy for too long.

Stop the World and Let me off is the title of this episode of NASHVILLE. Juliette wakes up to a new-well- Juliette. She immediately stops partying and tries to concentrate on repairing the relationship with her family. Avery, on the other hand is not so sure and wants to immerse himself in his new job producing Markus Keen. Markus, on the other hand, just wants to act like the alt-rock god he is. Deacon and Scarlett go to Natchez, MS (not together) to clean out Beverly's apartment. Things are still quite tense as Deacon is still an A-hole about Scarlett having to pull the plug on her Mom. Will and Kevin take a trip to Luke's show in the ATL in hopes Luke will sing and record their co-written effort. Gunnar hitches a ride in order to get his physical love life in order. (he has no game). Layla meets with Rayna about her new songs and realizes that she should use her toxic relationship with Jeff to write some good country music.

Maddie travels to the ATL with Colt. Will there be "alone" time? Naturally she seeks the best role model on the show (Juliette) for advise. Juliette wants to help by calling Maddie on the stage to sing her biggest hit. Luke is not happy that he will have to explain to Rayna why her little girl is on stage in a not so much age appropriate dress.

The song is a success and Maddie promptly celebrates with Colt on an empty tour bus. Paradise by the dashboard lights?

In other news, Jeff wants to be CEO of Wheelin' Dealin' Records, Avery gets fired, Rayna sets the rules, Gunnar gets laid, Juliette's BFF gets fired, Will is not happy he is not on stage, Deacon and Scarlett make up, and Avery wants a divorce with full custody of Cadence--whew!

The new season has arrived!  After a time jump of one month, we finally learn the fate of Deacon and Beverly.  Juliette's Biopic of Patsy Cline hits the silver screen (Although Noah West is nowhere to be seen) and things seem swimmingly well (at least to the public eye).  Bearded Will came out of the closet only to get right back in.  Is this poor boy going to find happiness?  Where did his Dad go?  Juliette is still unstable and she briefly reaches out to Rayna but denies it when Rayna flies cross-country to see her friend.  Avery and the baby are staying with his parents in Ohio and after an invite and serious consideration, he decides Nashville is where he needs to be.  Layla gets in the way. Is she being used by Jeff Fordham?  Do we really even care?  Scarlett has moved on with Dr. Caleb but fights off her feelings for Gunnar.  It is to a point where they need to record tracks separately.  Teddy is in jail and the girls are not handling it well.  Sweet Daphne gives some sass.  Rayna tries to cope with her Highway 65 business acumen.  Looks like we may be getting 3 men and a baby as Avery moves in with Will and Gunnar.

Scarlett cries AGAIN (and gets drunk).  Teddy has a decision to make about his mayoral election and Lamar makes it for him.  Edgehill Records 25th Anniversay show is coming up and both Rayna and Juliette are told they need to close the show TOGETHER.  This does not sit well with both parties but they eventually turn a negative into a positive and write a song together since they can't agree on what to sing.
