Caller Rachel wants to have a stronger prayer life. Caller Sandy want to give up complaining. She notices that as she has gotten older and a flood of trouble has headed her way she does not stop and give God the praise for the little things and feels weighted down, Johnnette says many of us have felt that way before. Caller Kathleen says we should not make an "idol" of the troubles we face. Our attention should be on God and not our troubles.

Johnnette shares about Saint Blaise who was the bishop of Sebastea and a doctor. He is recorded as helping with patients suffering from objects stuck in their throat. Many of the miraculous aspects of St. Blaise's life are written of 400 years after his martyrdom in the "Acts of St. Blaise." Saint Blaise is believed to begin as a healer then, eventually, became a "physician of souls." He then retired to a cave, where he remained in prayer. People often turned to Saint Blaise for healing miracles.

By nature his temperament was choleric, fiery; little was needed to throw him into a state of violent anger. It took years before he mastered his impatience, his unruly temper. Even after he became bishop, there were slips, as for instance, when someone rang a bell before he had finished preaching.
