I worked with Mr Kershaw for many years at Galaxy 102.2 at the time he was Sundissential Resident in Birmingham. I’m not a big fan of official biographies when introducing my guests, I prefer to keep the conversation as natural flowing as possible. That said, I did enjoy reading this impressive summary of Mr Kershaw’s achievements down the years.
The DJ
With a career spanning over two decades, Paul was one of the original residents at UK superclub; Sundissential. Paul has played at successive Creamfields events in the UK, has rocked arenas at Global Gathering and played consistently for the UK’s leading club brands including Crasher, Cream and Goodgreef.
Internationally, the global clubbing capital of Ibiza has seen Paul play landmark gigs for Cream at Amnesia, Slinky at Privilege, Sundissential at Eden, as well as countless other events. Mallorca’s BCM welcomed Paul back for 5 consecutive years. Paul’s sound has also taken him to Canada, Egypt, Finland, Poland and the Ukraine.
The Producer
As one third of the outfit Atlantis, Paul saw one of their earliest productions, ‘Fiji’ go straight into the UK national charts at #52. Recently re-released, the track has smashed through 1 million plays on Spotify. The track has appeared on over 50 compilations worldwide and was received by djs worldwide – including Paul Oakenfold who kept the track as his #1 for some time. The success of this track was topped off when the listeners of Radio 1 voted the track as the #1 all-time anthem of super club Cream.
Since that time, Paul has teamed up with friend and fellow dj Nick Rafferty and in 2004 gained increased success, hitting the UK charts at #48 with their track ‘Music.’
Paul has also turned his attention to remixing. His remix of Vicky Devine’s ‘Echoed Kisses’ was instantly snapped up by Drizzly Records and has already been supported by Adam White on his acclaimed Ministry of Sound radio show, where he made it his tune of the week. Further national radio support has come from Dave Pearce on Radio 1’s Dance Anthems show. Not only that, but the track was made trance tune of the month in IDj magazine.
Since then, Paul’s increasing number of remixes have been played countless times on Radio 1, and have been used by the dj elite; Armin van Buuren, Tiesto and Ferry Corsten in radio shows, mixes and at club gigs.
The Radio Presenter
Paul’s career as a radio presenter spanned over a decade, having been given his break on Birmingham’s Galaxy FM, where he gradually rose through the ranks to present the prestigious drive-time show for over 6 years, attaining official audience figures (RAJAR) greater than those of Radio 1 in Galaxy’s transmission area.
In 2003 Paul was given the opportunity to showcase his trance sound on a national level with Galaxy. His show repeatedly beat all other radio stations in the UK-wide Galaxy broadcast area, and his ‘Solid State’ show became the most listened to trance show in the UK.

Ricky Morrison is one of London’s most respected DJs. For as long as there have been House parties, he has been there. He became synonymous with that ‘U.S Garage Sound’, put together with a distinctive UK edge. He has played at pretty much every major nightclub around the world associated with Soulful House Music and is highly respected and LOVED in Italy.
In the mid 90s, Ricky formed M&S Productions with his long time friend, Fran Sidoli. They were amongst the first UK Producers to appear on the legendary ‘Strictly Rhythm Records’. They went on to release massive underground anthems and their remixes of huge artists at the time on some of the biggest labels catapulted them even further onto the Worldwide stage. Huge commercial success followed for a tune that was a massive underground hit for some months earlier; In 2000 ‘M&S Productions presents the Girl Next Door’ had a top 10 UK hit (huge around the world also) with ‘Salsoul Nugget’. It was signed to Pete Tong’s ‘FFRR’. This track received a supposed “ridiculous advance” of many zeros (there’s even talk in here of a ‘Ghost Production’ phase that also brought them huge success which I’d forgotten all about!)
Really… there aren’t many more accomplished, revered and knowledgable people in the UK than Ricky Morrison and this will be another great addition to the multitude of conversations had on this channel.

Paul Farris will be well known by a huge demographic, thanks to his Photo Genius Website & YouTube Channel. What some may not know is that he also a well known and respected figure in the House Music industry. Responsible for opening & managing Uptown Records, the much-loved store in London’s Soho; Not only that, he was an accomplished DJ around the world and went on to create and manage one of THE most active House Music Forums back in the early 00s, way before MySpace, Facebook and Instagram were ‘a thing’. Eventually, Paul would relocate to Australia where he now runs a thriving Photography business.
With years of experience in the music industry across many projects and roles, Mr Farris will be another valuable asset to the content here.

I have known Ben Smoldon for over 40 years. I would spend countless weekends at the family home as a close school friend of his older brother and a real fan of both his amazing parents.
In this conversation I intend to revisit those wild days of the mid to late 80s, discuss what life was like growing up in a household where the Family dynamics appeared to revolve around their love for the game of Rugby and their beloved Sutton Coldfield Rugby Club.
A few years after leaving school we would enjoy the stories of how Ben was continuing the Family tradition of dominating the Rugby field, going on to Captain his team, Then, one day in 1991, at 17 years of age life changed forever when Ben was injured during a collapsed scrum.
What happened next became global news as there were huge repercussions to the sport but, more significantly of course, for Ben and his Family.

Christian Woodyatt is widely regarded by many as one of Nottingham’s best House Music DJs. Starting out at The Garage in Nottingham and eventually becoming Venus Resident, his time behind the decks afforded him the opportunity to rub shoulders with the biggest names out there in the 90s and beyond.
Another of Nottingham’s most acclaimed names on the clubbing circuit is Mr Sam Bowery. Working side by side with Christian as Licensee, Door Picker & promoter at the much-revered ‘Venus’, we will endeavour to lift the lid on the antics that took place regularly in Nottingham and elsewhere.

Phil Dockerty began as a DJ in the 80s, moving on, into the 90s, to produce and remix for some of the biggest names around as one half of Futureshock. He has toured the globe, playing at major festivals and clubs alike and boasts an incredible remix and production discography.
Pete Gooding, in the early 90s, was a mainstay on the Birmingham House scene, whether behind the decks sharing the best in underground sounds, or behind the record shop counter. He went on to hold down one of the longest standing residencies at legendary Mambo in Ibiza, before conquering the rest of the world in pretty much all areas associated with the House scene.

Way before UKG was called UKG, a core group of DJs in Birmingham were playing that gritty, energetic U.S House vibe that sounded SO DIFFERENT to everything else you’d hear in most clubs around town. A very distinct scene emerged, of which I’d like to think I was at the forefront of.
In this interview, we talk to, without doubt, one of THE most consistent DJs on theUK House & Garage music scene for the last25 yrs+.
Joining Jeremy Sylvester will be Nigel Reece aka DJ Nar aka Nigel R. In the early to mid 90s, Nigel would take regular trips down to the underground scene in London, bringing back tales of the madness to us all each week but more importantly the TUNES! Eventually, he’d create a strong identity and club night of his own.

Back in 2016, Dean had what he thought was indigestion and slept it off. 3 months later, after a little training session to lose weight for his wedding, he had what he thought was another bout of indigestion… turns out it was the 2nd artery to his heart blocking up and he was having a full on heart attack. The blockage was caused by familial hypercholesterolemia (FH) a genetic disorder that leads to blockages in the arteries.
In this story we hear what happened leading up to and during the attack and what he did next to recover and what he’s doing now to make himself stronger than before.
