What happens when a loss changes not only your life, but who you are inside of it?
In this episode of She Saves Herself, Shannon sits down with trauma-informed therapist and grief coach Erin Barbosa to talk about the often-overlooked part of grief: learning how to live after an experience has changed you.
Together, they unpack identity shifts, intimacy after trauma, why safety has to come before connection, the body signals we're conditioned to override, and the role creativity can play in bringing us back to life. You'll also hear about Erin's "baby chick" approach to healing, the power of telling your story, and why creative health may be one of the missing pieces in the healing conversation. If you're somewhere between the life you've outgrown and the person you're becoming, this episode is for you.
In this personal conversation, I sit down with my longtime friend and mentor, Summer Bacon, to talk about why so many sensitive, caring people stay too long, give too much, and ignore their own needs while caring for everyone else's. We dive deep into intuition, healing after betrayal, the challenge of trusting yourself again, and how to remain loving without losing yourself. Near the end of our conversation, Summer brings through Dr. Peebles for a message on self-love, and personal responsibility. You don't want to miss this eposide.
Why do we spend so much time searching for closure? In this heartfelt conversation, Shannon sits down with bestselling author and healer Amy B. Scher to explore why healing doesn't require having all the answers. Together, they discuss grief, self-trust, creativity, forgiveness, and the courage to move forward when life doesn't make sense. If you've been waiting for closure before allowing yourself to heal, this episode offers a new perspective on what it truly means to find peace.
Why do some people betray the very person who helped them most? In this episode, Shannon Kaiser explores the hidden psychology behind betrayal, people pleasing, overgiving, resentment, and emotional debt. Drawing from both personal experience and the teachings of Friedrich Nietzsche, she unpacks why helping others can sometimes create imbalance, rejection, and unexpected betrayal, and how to support people without abandoning yourself in the process. If you've ever felt blindsided after giving your heart to someone, this episode is for you.
In this episode of The Real Reason Relationships Fall Apart, Shannon explores the hidden psychology behind why so many relationships slowly unravel — and why the pain often comes from the collapse of fantasy, not just betrayal itself. Inspired by the teachings of Carl Jung and reflections explored and excerpted from the YouTube channel Jung Thoughts, the video "The Day You Stop Romanticizing People," this conversation dives into the masks people wear, the unconscious roles we assign each other, and the emotional patterns we mistake for love.
You'll learn why some people only feel safe around the version of you that self-abandons, how projections distort connection, why awareness changes your relationships forever, and what happens when you stop betraying your intuition just to keep people close. This episode is a deep exploration of human nature, emotional dependency, self-worth, healing, and the moment clarity finally replaces illusion.
In this episode, Shannon Kaiser explores the subtle red flags she ignored before realizing she had become part of someone else's hidden reality. From inconsistent availability and emotionally intense conversations to vague explanations, shifting stories, and the feeling that something never fully added up, this episode unpacks the psychological and nervous-system impact of relationships that leave you confused, hypervigilant, and questioning yourself.
The narrators shares how emotionally intelligent, empathetic people often override their instincts in the name of love, understanding, and connection, and why healing changes what you tolerate. This conversation dives into self-trust, discernment, emotional manipulation, and the difference between real intimacy and partial access disguised as connection. If you've ever found yourself stuck between what someone said and what your body felt, this episode is for you.
This episode explores the subtle first-date behaviors and emotional manipulation tactics exploiters often use that can be mistaken for chemistry, romance, or soulmate-level connection. Inspired by Shannon Kaiser's original written resource, the narrators unpack the early warning signs many empathic and self-aware people overlook, including fast emotional attachment, low-investment "romantic" dates, premature closeness, boundary testing, and emotional grooming disguised as intimacy.

Why do empaths and highly sensitive people often attract toxic or emotionally unsafe relationships?
In this conversation, the narrators explore and discuss Shannon Kaiser's resource on emotional safety, unpacking why empathy can become a target for manipulation — and how to recognize when a relationship is draining your nervous system instead of supporting it.

Welcome to the She Saves Herself Podcast. In today’s powerful conversation, Shannon sits down with Dr. Jennifer Caspari, author of You Are More Than Your Body, to explore what it really means to heal, emotionally, spiritually, and physically, when your body feels like a battlefield.
Jennifer was born three months premature and lives with cerebral palsy. Navigating the world as a disabled person and working as a licensed clinical psychologist, she brings a rare and deeply personal insight into the healing process. Her lived experience, combined with her professional training, offers a compassionate, empowering lens for anyone struggling to reclaim their identity after illness, injury, or emotional trauma. Jennifer reminds us that we are not broken. We are not our diagnosis. We are not what happened to us. And healing doesn’t mean going back to who we were, it means becoming someone new, someone wiser, someone freer.
When is the last time you had a wonderful night’s sleep? Most of us would call ourselves lucky if we could fall asleep easily, sleep soundly through the night, experience and remember our dreams, and wake up feeling refreshed. But for one in three adults in the US (about eighty-four million people), experiencing uninterrupted sleep and getting a great night’s rest is only just a dream. The reality is sleep makes up one-third of our life (a good twenty-five to thirty years), and it impacts everything we do.1 I know firsthand the impact of poor sleep and how it can cause mental stress and break down the body. Which is why I had to write my next book, 365 Happy Bedtime Mantras: Improve Your Sleep, Release Stress, and Enjoy Your Dreams. Dive into this new podcast episode as I share behind the scenes of the making of the book, you’ll get a sneak peek of the book and I pull a mantra from the affirmation deck for you.
You’ve changed over the last 10 years — right? We all have, but how often do we stop and look back to think about how far we’ve actually come? We are so used to hustling forward and not celebrating ourselves or what we have overcome, that we often miss that the journey can be a revitalizing reward.
But it can be hard to focus on the good when everything around us does not seem so great.
If you’ve felt overwhelmed, insecure, or stuck in seemingly never-ending cycles of self-doubt, stagnate energy and feel disempowered by life circumstances you are not alone.
Learning how to embrace reinvention and navigate uncertainty can be a challenge if we feel hopeless, which is why I invited my good friend Andrea Owen back on the Awakened & Aligned Podcast. Andrea’s a renowned life coach and author, and she shares how she took action and faced dissatisfaction with her life head on, changing her path forever.
In the latest edition of her first book, 52 Ways to Live a Kick-Ass Life, she talks about the power of looking inward and uncovering our inner badass as we strive for our full potential and confront all the things holding us back.
It's time to be excited again...about life, your dreams, goals and new possibilities for yourself and loved ones.
How would you like to successfully move past doubt and step into more effortless flow? What if you could wake up each morning stress free and in harmony with yourself and all of life. This way of living is possible with intention, and a steadfast dedication to showing up for yourself, even when you can’t see the whole picture. Sometimes manifesting requires unshakable faith, even in the uncertainty and unknown you can have clarity.
I invited manifestation expert George Lizo’s to share tips from his new book Ancient Manifestation Secrets: Working with the 7 Laws of the Universe to Manifest Your Life and Purpose onto the Awakened & Aligned Podcast we talk about how to manifest from this place of authentic alignment. Listen in here...
Whether we fully understand it or not, we are living in a collective time of crazy chaos. And there is a reason—we are being asked on a soul level to advance, evolve, to wake up to the truth that the time is now to be you. And there is no better person to talk to us about this than my dear friend, healer, and creative AMY B. SCHER, an award-winning and bestselling author. As a former marketing director for Harley-Davidson and someone who built her own successful business from scratch (with no college degree), has overcome life-threatening Lime disease, traveled the world in search of answers, fallen in love with a woman when she previously only dated men, she’s learned how to navigate life's experiences and surrender to what life truly has in store.
To help us all understand how to live with more intention and ease, I invited Amy back on the Awakened and Aligned Podcast.
We need simple solutions to help us through complex times, especially when it comes to our bodies. Meet Danielle Walker, diagnosed with an extreme form of ulcerative colitis at age 22, Danielle was terrified she’d never be able to eat all the wonderful, great-tasting foods she loved growing up or host warm, welcoming gatherings with family and friends. So when the medicine she was prescribed became almost as debilitating as the disease itself, Danielle took matters into her own hands, turned her kitchen into a laboratory, and set to work creating gut-healthy versions of the foods she thought she’d never be able to enjoy again.
For anyone who has suffered through body frustrations, doctor visits with no avail, autoimmune disorders, chronic muscle pain conditions or health issues that seem impossible to turn around, today’s podcast is for you.
I speak with Danielle Walker, multi New York Times best selling author, food blogger and recipe creator. She shares more of her story and through resilience, we can all find more hope―hope that despite your ailments or hardships, you can live a full, happy, and healthy life without ever feeling excluded or deprived.

When I asked Michael how his first ketamine experience was, he shared, “It was like I had noise canceling headphones on for my brain. For the first time I could see I didn’t have to attach to my thoughts.” He was calm, he felt peace, he basked in self-love. Sounds amazing, right?
Ketamine is a trusted and wildly used medicine that helps the brain create new, healthier patterns via new neural growth. I’ve been in the program for the past three weeks, and I personally have seen shifts already. I've been able to reframed limiting perspectives, which has led me to heal from past pain, accept reality, forgive myself and others, even release burdens I used to ruminate on, and my self-doubt has shifted into deeper self-love and worth.
I’ve been so impressed with my healing journey on ketamine, and the ethics and integrity of Mindbloom as a company, that I wanted to bring on Michael Petegorsky, the chief strategy officer at Mindbloom to talk breakthroughs in mental health, ketamine treatment, what to expect, and why and how it’s transforming lives and the world.
I had the oppurutnity to go on Afternoon Live, Portland Oregon's afternoon television show to talk tips on how to protect yourself from master manipualtors.
After learning that my friend was actually a con artist, I set out to learn more about master manipulators. Listen in for tips on protecting yourself.

Dr. Jeff McNairy, the chief medical officer of Rytmia Life Advancement Center has focused the past couple of decades on helping people find healing and happiness through the most breakthrough modalities, psychology, and he is an advocate (like me) for plant medicine. He is a trauma-informed phycologist, so I wanted to see first-hand how mother nature has the ability to heal and transform our minds and bodies, especially with plant medicine. Through Dr. McNairy’s intense experience and programs with the most desperate patient populations (addition, acute mental health, and trauma), he has seen that the only real healing can come from within. Today we talk about healing and the fastest path to wholeness.
George Lizos is an expert on energy protection and boundaries. He literally wrote the book on it.
If you’ve been feeling low energy, or stressed, overwhelmed and frustrated, it could be a lack of boundaries and all the energy around you. As George shares, “I define energy protection as the art of being energetically authentic. It’s about identifying and clearing what’s not yours so you can reestablish your connection with your authentic self and then taking protective measures to secure your authenticity. Energy protection ensures that what’s yours is yours, and what’s theirs is theirs.”
Today I talk with George on the Awakened & Aligned podcast about reclaiming your true power and protecting yourself from unwanted or harmful vibrations.

To help us through this supercharged emotional time, I recruited my friend Andrea Owen, the bestselling author of the new book Make Some Noise, to help us learn how to be better communicators so we can take back control of our lives.
It’s no doubt we are living in a time of great chaos and change. As a planet, we are waking up to the fact that the ancient prophecies and warnings of the elders are no longer predictions—we are living them right now. And whether we realize it or not, we all have a role to play. I have found one of the best ways to personally navigate this time and understand the role we have is by spending more time with my soul, and no one does this better than my dear friend Rebecca Campbell.
In a time of such diversity and chaos, to help us find our way back to full integrity, I invited Martha Beck onto the Awakened & Aligned Podcast show. We talk about the power of integrity and how it can align us back to our true selves. When we are connected to this part of ourselves, our true self, we are free from suffering, illusions and conflict that has previously held us back. The way of integrity is one of ultimate freedom. You were born in full integrity—it’s your nature. In this episode, we show you how to align back to your true self.
We may not have control over many things right now, but we can control our own experience in each moment. This guided meditation is part of the full meditations album and Feear Detox course to help you overcome overwhelm.
This program is designed to help you eliminate fear-based thoughts, actions and habits and step into a peaceful way of being.

Finding Your Happy It takes tremendous courage to realize when your life is not working but even more courage to have the guts to do something about it. One of the reasons I wanted to bring Shannon here is because she is a beautiful example of someone who found herself in a very challenging position: suffering from a food disorder, depression, drinking and doing drugs to a place where she feels authentically alive and as you will see throughout the interview, radiating joy and enthusiasm from within. Shannon is dedicating most of her time to helping others while creating a life that she fully resonates with and that is a lesson we can all learn something from.
Some Key Insights From This Interview: * Why a big disappointment in her career resulted in a big awakening * How she got the courage to throw away her prescription for anti-depressants * What was her daily practice and set of rituals to embrace change * What’s the beauty in realizing that everything is right order * How she quit drinking, smoking and doing cocaine cold turkey * What’s the significance in enjoying the Journey
