Pastor Phil Jones concludes the book of Romans by walking us through the Doxology in chapter 16.
v9: If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.
What defines you? What does God mean when He says, "I AM"? Pastor Phil takes a hard look at what Paul says about God's nature in Romans chapter 9.
v4 "You are from God, little children, and have overcome them; because greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world."
v23 "This is His commandment, that we believe in the name of His Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, just as He commanded us."
v16 "We know love by this, that He laid down His life for us; and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren."
v9 "The one who says he is in the Light and yet hates his brother is in the darkness until now."
v5b - 6 "By this we know that we are in Him: the one who says he abides in Him ought himself to walk in the same manner as He walked."
v2 "..and he Himself is the propitiation for our sins; and not for ours only, but also for those of the whole world."
v9 "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."
v17-18 You therefore, beloved, knowing this beforehand, be on your guard so that you are not carried away by the error of unprincipled men and fall from your own steadfastness, but grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory, both know and to the day of eternity. Amen.
v3 "Know this first of all, that in the last days mockers will come with their mocking, following after their own lusts,"
1 Corinthians 15:12-20 v13 "But if there is no resurrection of the dead, not even Christ has been raised; and if Christ has not been raised, then our preaching is in vain, your faith also is vain."
Matthew 21:1-17 v5 "Say to the daughter of Zion, 'Behold your King is coming to you, gentle, and mounted on a donkey, even on a colt, the foal of a beast of burden'".
v1-3 "But false prophets also arose among the people, just as there will also be false teachers among you, who will secretly introduce destructive heresies, even denying the Master who bought them, bringing swift destruction upon themselves. Many will follow their sensuality, and because of them the way of the truth will be maligned; and in their greed they will exploit you with false words; their judgement from long ago is not idle, and their destruction is not asleep."
v20 "But know this first of all, that no prophecy of Scripture is a matter of one's own interpretation, for no prophecy was ever made by an act of human will, but men moved by the Holy Spirit spoke from God."
v5-8 "Now for this very reason also, applying all diligence, in your faith supply moral excellence, and in your moral excellence, knowledge, and in your knowledge, self-control, and in your self-control, perseverance, and in your perseverance, godliness, and in your godliness, brotherly kindness, and in your brotherly kindness, love. For if these qualities are yours and are increasing, they render you neither useless nor unfruitful in the true knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ."
v3 "...seeing this His divine power has granted to us everything pertaining to life and godliness, through the true knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and excellence."
v3 "Do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit, but with humility of mind regard one another as more important than yourselves;"
18b-20 "Yes, and I will rejoice, for I know that this will turn out for my deliverance through your prayers and the provision of the Spirit of Jesus Christ, according to my earnest expectation and hope, that I will not be put to shame in anything, but that with all my boldness, Christ will even now, as always, be exalted in my body, whether by life or by death."
v18a "What then? Only that in every way, whether in pretense or in truth, Christ is proclaimed; and in this I rejoice."
v3-5 "I thank my God in all my remembrance of you, always offering prayer for you all, in view of your participation in the gospel from the first day until now."

"Be of sober spirit, be on the alert. Your adversary, the devil, prowls around you like a roading lion, seeking someone to devour. But resist him, firm in your faith, knowing that the same experiences of suffering are being accomplished by your brethren who are in the world.
