The guys discuss the many different things that influenced the movie, the different shots and artistic styles, and their overall impression. They both agree that this movie may have been ahead of it's time as the elements used in the movie are often used in today's major summer films. Episode 17! Connor and Anthony take a look at the 2008 thriller Cloverfield. Before diving into that they discuss the trailer for Godzilla vs. Kong. They make predictions of what direction this movie might go. Anthony has a case of nostalgia for Cloverfield but does he feel the same as he did in 08? Connor breaks down what made this movie so enjoyable but left with a bad taste.
Anthony and Connor finally make their way to the most recent installment of the "monsterverse", Godzilla: King of the Monsters. They are both excited to talk about their experiences with this movie initially and how it's changed over subsequent viewings. Anthony and Connor take a look at 2003's Godzilla - Tokyo SOS. Anthony picked this movie thinking it was something else but was happy with the end result. Connor really really wants to buy a Honda Element after watching the movie. In this episode Connor and Anthony cover Pacific Rim 2 Uprising. Connor immediately goes in hard on the movie which may result in us striking it from our intro track. Anthony likes the effects and set pieces in the movie but ultimately his favorite scene was the shot of the Unicorn Gundam.
