About the author Lesley retired from her life as a professor of psychology and reclaimed her
country roots by moving to a small cottage in the Butternut River Valley in upstate
New York. In the winter she migrates to old Florida--cowboys, scrub palmetto,
and open fields of grazing cattle, a place where spurs still jingle in the post office.
Back north, she devotes her afternoons to writing and, when the sun sets,
relaxing on the bank of her trout stream, sipping tea or a local microbrew. You

About the Book After losing her mother unexpectedly, in 2007, while volunteering abroad, Ms. Faith Elle, born, Faith L. Walls like most motherless "girls" was overwhelmed with emotions. About the Author Ms. Faith Elle, born Faith L. Walls, is the daughter of educators. She received a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a master’s degree in Educational Administration and Policy from Howard University. Faith is a life coach, providing life coaching services to girls and women globally. Her company Faith Elle Enterprises also conducts workshops for youth and staff development in schools. Faith is currently an adjunct faculty member at Harry S Truman College, where she teaches College Success, an interdisciplinary class which prepares students to matriculate through the collegiate pipeline. She is a noted speaker, author and global citizen: to date she has traveled to 25 countries on five continents. Faith is a girls advocate and expert. The product of an all-girl school and a lifetime member of Girl Scouts of the USA, she believes that whether on the South Side of Chicago, or in South Africa, when given the opportunity, girls can rise above dire straits to prevail in all areas of life.

As a survivor of a rare Stage 4 Cancer, Linda Parrish felt moved to tell her story in hopes it may inspire others going through this illness, or their caretakers. In 1992, Judi Ciance and her husband, Paul, moved from Worcester, Massachusetts, over the Bourne Bridge, to their home in Centerville. Paul had just retired after serving thirty years on the Worcester Police Department. The tables turned. He retired from the Criminal Justice System and Judi became a part of it. For the next eleven years, Ciance held various positions in the Barnstable County Court System and the Barnstable County Sheriff's Office. She eventually achieved the position of Assistant Deputy Superintendent. That, and her life with a police officer, unleashed her imagination and led her to create the character, Casey Quinby.
