Lady Lou is a Burlesque Artist who not only performs as she also organises events and workshops with the goal of empowering women through Burlesque. She's from Auckland, New Zealand but she discovered Burlesque in London and has been involved in the Berlin community for 12 years now, since she arrived. On this episode, we talked about her connection to the Burlesque world, the Berlin-way of doing Burlesque and its potential of empowering women and why Burlesque performers are some of the strongest women you'll ever meet.
Jill Beytin is one of the founders of Bear Radio, the first english-speaking podcast network of Berlin-based and related podcasts (one of them Berlinothèque). She comes from California and she's been in Berlin for 4 years now, after living in Prague. Besides the network she also has her own podcast, Vocal Fry, which is about interesting and/or ambitious Berlin women. On this episode, we talked about the rise of podcasts in the media industry, Bear Radio's recent trip to Austin to participate on SXSW, setting up an audio-related start-up in Berlin and the future not only of the network but of podcasting as well.
Sara Neidorf is one of the organizers and curators of the yearly Final Girls Berlin Film Festival, which showcases horror cinema that's directed, written, or produced by women and non-binary and started in 2017. She's also a drummer and a drum teacher involved in multiple music projects (Mellowdeath, Choral Hearse, Sarattma). Born in Philadelphia (US), she came to Berlin to study Film Theory/History and the cinema landscape in the German Capital. In this episode, we talked about her passion for cinema, the challenges of organising a cinema festival in a time of fierce competition from other sources of entertainment, the importance of Nu-Metal for 12 year olds in the early 2000s, her several music projects and Berlin as a great hub for Female and Non-Binary cinema. Robert Faber is the co-owner of the Two Fellas Brewery in Pankow, Berlin, along with Michael Moineau. Both were born in the United States and brewed at The Castle Pub before opening their own space. The Two Fellas brewery opened in September 2017 and is bringing an amazing set of different craft beers to the area. In this episode, we talked about homebrewing and its learning process, craft beer In Germany, setting up a brewery in the Pankow neighbourhood of Berlin and the craft beer trends of 2018.
