On a new week of Asking For A Friend, we take a walk down memory lane and listen to all our favorite classics from our teen years. Including but not limited to some major throwbacks, a song we forgot was explicit and a few alternative hits that still sound just as good. Completed with commentary from yours truly, its a solid show with a great tracklist.

This week we talk all about movies! Specifically, movies with sequels or movies part of a series that include 3 or more. You know the ones like Shrek 2, Shrek the Third, Shrek Forever after.....we could go on. We rate the best of and the worst of movie sequels, because why ruin one movie with one more? In addition, we play great music! It's an episode you won't want to miss.

It's our Valentine's Day show! Except...not really...but we talk about couples...a lot...the whole time...in a super fun way!

This episode we dig deep into all things couple-related. But don't worry, not the cute and cuddly kind of stuff. Thanks to our listeners, we are stocked with responses in which we read live on air and discuss which celebrity couples are the best and worst, which ones we wish didn't break up, who would look good together, and even couples that pull it off on screen. We debate the worst couples: Kim and Kanye? Hailey and Justin?

If we don't get a lawsuit out of this episode, then what's the point?

And for dessert, we dissect our selections for the winner of each category in the upcoming Oscars! (we were way off)

Complete with fun music, a small dancer, and potentially just (1) simple technical malfunction, this episode is about as AFAF as it gets!

Ah yes, another fine week here at Asking For A Friend. This week, it's all about reality TV, baby!

In addition, August and Genevieve also discuss reality TV shows such as The Bachelor, Queer Eye, The Kardashians and more. Listen for some of the most epic reality TV show moments ranked according to the internet in which Paris Hilton finds out the true meaning of Walmart.

Our sixth ever episode of Season 3 of Asking For A Friend, a college radio show on Kent State University's Black Squirrel Radio Station!

Welcome back....again.

This week, Augusta and Genevieve embrace the eerie holiday spirit by picking apart some notorious conspiracy theories submitted by the listeners! Such theories include but are not limited to: Area 51, the earth being flat, how all Pixar movies are connected seemingly in their own universe.

In addition, we also touch on some scary Mandela effect conspiracies... were you fully aware that curious George does not, in fact, have a tail? That it's actually Sex IN The City? And on top of that, we debate on whether or not the government is purposely withholding from us the cure to the common cold.

It's a mind blowing episode that you absolutely will not want to miss. (You may need an Aspirin for your head after)

Our fifth ever episode of Season 3 of Asking For A Friend, a college radio show on Kent State University's Black Squirrel Radio Station!

You just couldn't get enough, could you?

This week, Augusta and Genevieve discuss all things memes. They're everywhere you look, so why not acknowledge how truly funny they are? Starting from the very beginning of internet trolling, dating back to the Rickroll, memes have evolved from the "me gusta" meme and the "Y U NO" man to simply a video of Kylie Jenner waking up her daughter.

Naturally, other important things are covered, such as our listener's favorite and least favorite memes of all time as well as some of the best over the years according to the internet. Augusta is tested as to which year some of the best memes originated from, including but not limited to Arthur's fist and the white man blinking.

Listen for Harry Styles' new song, LOTS of technical difficulties, and a guest appearance by the Grim Reaper!

Our fourth ever episode of Season 3 of Asking For A Friend, a college radio show on Kent State University's Black Squirrel Radio Station!

Welcome back to another week of Asking For A Friend! This week, Augusta and Genevieve take a little trip down memory lane through the world of technology.

You know, back in those simpler times when people used AIM and email to communicate after school? When you used to send on average ten text messages a day with your Motorola Razr cellphone in the fifth grade? Yeah, those simple times.

In this show, we hear from you, the listeners, all about your experiences growing up in a time where technology was not as advanced. Back when you had to dial up the internet on your flip phone to check an email or two and get billed $100 a minute. When your first email address was soccermunchie98 or 2cheerfulboo. Yes, those were actual answers we received.

In addition we talk about some true and false social media statistics about how long we use Youtube daily, how many ten year olds crack the Facebook loophole and how many social media accounts we average per person, which requires Genevieve to use basic math skills that she can't comprehend.

It's a show you won't want to miss!

This week we talk all about crazy laws throughout the US. Is it illegal if a pickle doesn't bounce? You can't legally share your Netflix password? We talk all about the bizarre things the general public can and cannot do, of course with the help of your feedback.

In addition, we cover the essentials of the upcoming fall season and Augusta quizzes Genevieve on Instagram captions she used on her own posts from 6 years back. It's a true blast from the past that you won't want to miss!

Alas, the day we have all been dreading: the final show of the season. Can you believe it's been two whole semesters? 20 shows. 40 hours on air. All Asking For A Friend.

We look back on all the live reads, all the technical difficulties, all the Tiny Dancers and review the shows from our past: Conspiracy Show? Radio jingle show? Travel show? Christmas show?

All jokes aside, the show had a great run this semester as we celebrate Alicia's last show as a Kent State Student. But don't forget about us, Genevieve still has one more year and will be keeping the legacy alive.

-concert war stories

...and much, much more! We actually received so much feedback from the listeners that we didn't get a chance to cover it all. Alicia and I also throw in some of our favorite hits and review some of the best concerts we've been to, and how long we've been willing to wait in line.

Our fifth ever episode of Season 2 of Asking For A Friend, a college radio show on Kent State University's Black Squirrel Radio Station! Meet your hosts Alicia Falorio and Genevieve Menyhart as we dive in head-first into the world of the radio. Did we know what we were doing this day? Hell no.

Join us for this week's very laid back episode in which Genevieve and Alicia recap their lives lately. Alicia explains her experience after trying Bibibop and the "outer body" experience she had shortly after. After admitting she finally saw Bohemian Rhapsody over the weekend, Genevieve is sent into a frenzy obsessing over the actor who plays Roger Taylor, Ben Hardy.

In addition, we go over life in general. After begging the listeners to edit Alicia's paper, we turn to the listener responses from our Instagram polls, as per usual. We go over all sorts of things regarding relationships, college life and balancing school. Towards the end we digress the preceding night's Oscars Award Ceremony and highlight the essentials including Olivia Colman's acceptance speech where she name drops Lady Gaga and Rami Malek falling off the side of the stage post-ceremony.

Our eleventh ever episode of Season 2 of Asking For A Friend, a college radio show on Kent State University's Black Squirrel Radio Station! On this week's episode, Alicia is out of studio slaving away on her up and coming gallery show this weekend. In her place is Genevieve's roommate, Alex, who stops by the studio to chat about all things roommate related. Unfortunately, due to a power outage last night this episode doesn’t get archived until 42 minutes in, leaving an hour and 18 minutes only saved. In this week's episode we read out all the stories we received from listeners about their college living situations---from a roommate who took a shot before her 7 AM class every single morning to another roommate who had shower sex and flooded the bathroom, resulting in the bathroom below them's ceiling to cave in onto a boy taking a shower who was already on crutches. These are just a few of the short stories we received from our loyal listeners, with several others to tell as well as our own personal experiences in the dorm life. There's a reason 81% of people said nay and 19% said yay to the dorm life, according to our Instagram polls. At the end of the show Alicia makes a special guest appearance via a phone call on the aux cord, where a friend nearby swears on the broadcast. But if you listen closely, you'll notice that's not the first time someone swore on air today. Listen if you'd like a laugh, or some secondhand embarrassment.

Our tenth ever episode of Season 2 of Asking For A Friend, a college radio show on Kent State University's Black Squirrel Radio Station!

This episode is pretty mellow if we do say so ourselves. Join in as Genevieve and Alicia dive into all sorts of factual information from true and false questions to myths that we have to debate. Does chewing gum really take 7 years to digest? Did Mark Twain actually patent the bra strap clasp? Does McDonald's only serve the McLobster in Cape Cod? And if so, what the hell is a McLobster?

Alicia takes one for the team and decides to guess the answers game-show style, playing the role of a viewer for everyone's convenience. This leads to several challenging situations that eventually evolve into Genevieve and Alicia having a heated debate about the memory span of a goldfish.

In addition to all that we contemplate life, our weekends and the semester wrapping up. It's a fun episode to follow along, so put in your headphones and turn it up!

-The Steven Avery Case (from Making a Murderer on Netflix)

-What happened to Jonbenet Ramsay

Our seventh ever episode of Season 2 of Asking For A Friend, a college radio show on Kent State University's Black Squirrel Radio Station

Welcome back to our seventh episode of the show! In this episode, Genevieve and Alicia battle it out over 'this and that's that we come up with! After posting several polls on our Instagram story, we review the feedback we received about the superior of the two options. We cover the standards: Pepsi or Coke? Netflix or Hulu? Gena or Alicia? Heath Ledger or Jake Gyllenhaal?

Then, we ask the harder-hitting questions, from which camera brand is better to which flavor of Dorito. Is LeBron better in The Land, or in LA? We settle several ties and go off on separate tangents about stories that have little to no relevance, but what else is new?

In this week's episode, Alicia turns 22 years old. While this is already significant, it gives us the opportunity to make several birthday puns and creates the opportunity for 22 by Taylor Swift to get dropped randomly.

This week Alicia's long time friend and roommate Kate steps into the station with us. Kate, a nursing major, answers medically related questions from our listeners, and offers her professional diagnosis. Hear why she believes we don't get goosebumps on our face. We also ask for your weirdest injury stories, and some did not disappoint:

Our second ever episode of Season 2 of Asking For A Friend, a college radio show on Kent State University's Black Squirrel Radio Station! Meet your hosts Alicia Falorio and Genevieve Menyhart as we dive in head-first into the world of the radio. Did we know what we were doing this day? Hell yeah. Making another bold claim that aside from our Travel Show and show with Genevieve's Mom, this episode is definitely one of the top ones.

Welcome back for another week of this godforsaken show. If you've ever wanted to hear someone bitch for 2 hours straight, then this episode is for you! (In the best way). In this week's episode, Genevieve and Alicia touch on a variety of subjects such as commonly misheard lyrics and catchy commercial jingles including but not limited to the Education Connection song and the beloved Filet-O-Fish commercial.

There is also a segment in which Genevieve flames Liberty Ford for a bit too long over their change of lyric in their iconic commercials. It has to start with Solon, then Maple Heights, then Parma Heights...and so on. We also dissect some other commercials such as:

-O'Reilly auto parts

-1-800-CASH NOW

-the IX indoor amusement park

-the Pillow Pet jingle

  • many, many more. In a conflict of poor scheduling, Genevieve leaves 20 minutes early to go take a test, leaving Alicia alone at the mic where she reads out horoscopes and makes some astrological predictions for our listeners on live.

Our seventh ever episode of Asking For A Friend, a college radio show on Kent State University's Black Squirrel Radio Station! Welcome back to the seventh week of us on air! In any case, we believe it's pretty safe to declare this the most epic episode of the show. Genevieve and Alicia sit down with a third party. Who is this third party you ask? Genevieve's own mother.

Listen as we welcome Karen Menyhart to the BSR radio station. For 2 hours straight, Genevieve is roasted by her own mother on air. In addition there are several war stories told, a reflection upon some of the finest Menyhart Christmas photos with Santa, and several accidental sexual innuendos. After giving several shoutouts to friends that she "practiced on the way to the show," Karen touches on every base on air.

Meanwhile, the Asking For A Friend trio accept the Instagram challenge from their listeners to subtly drop words submitted by our followers into casual conversation. There were many successes and many fails.

Completed with an earth-shattering rendition of Tiny Dancer and a small karaoke of Bohemian Rhapsody, this is an episode you absolutely would not want to miss.

Our sixth ever episode of Asking For A Friend, a college radio show on Kent State University's Black Squirrel Radio Station! Welcome back to the sixth week of us on air! On this fine Monday, Genevieve and Alicia reflect on the gift of fatigue and how they think it will overcome them. Upon stumbling into the radio station, they discover a brand new flat screen TV playing an episode of "Pickler and Ben" and give their honest reviews on the spot.

Did we mention we hated Mondays? Why did we pick this day? Listen to find out. This episode touches on all the important things, you know like the third Property Brother and dwelling on the Kardashians for a little too long. Aside from all the basics, we spend this episode Googling ourselves and giving our honest reactions to the content we find. What's on the web about you? Your middle name? Your grand-grandfather's old home address overseas? Your blood type? You won't want to miss out on these findings.

"Listen, I have about negative brain cells right now, and I need them to last me the whole week," Alicia says in all honesty. Her aunt Jan then walks past the station, prompting Alicia to run after her and leaving Genevieve at the mic.

Our fourth ever episode of Asking For A Friend, a college radio show on Kent State University's Black Squirrel Radio Station! Meet your hosts Alicia Falorio and Genevieve Menyhart as we dive in head-first into the world of the radio. Did we know what we were doing this day? Not at all. Did we bounce back anyways and pull everything together? Hell yeah. Listen as we take you through 20 minutes of pure BS until the power outage knocks us off air! Listen for the usual microphone startup issues in which Genevieve can't hear herself, to which her mom texts her "I hear you, shut up."

-This episode had the original intent of covering some would you rather scenarios between the two of us, as well as some laid back chat about college life and the world in general.

-Just as the show started to take off, the room goes dark. What happens you might ask? The great Black Squirrel Radio power outage of 2018. Due to this, all systems in the station were down for 45 minutes while the power was restored. After the help of a custodian, technician and a passerby in Franklin Hall, Asking For A Friend was able to get back on air with only working microphones and an aux cord hooked up to Spotify.

-Unfortunately for you guys, the remaining hour of the show was not recorded as well as the entire week following as the radio system got fixed. This also means that episode 5 is lost on the interweb forever.

Listen as we discover the day-old engagement of Ariana Grande and Pete Davidson and hear our immediate thoughts. Not saying we called it, but we just might have. Genevieve also discovers a special effects button, so have fun with that.

Our second ever episode of Asking For A Friend, a college radio show on Kent State University's Black Squirrel Radio Station! Welcome back to the second week of us on air! In this episode we explore several different conspiracy theories submitted by listeners via Instagram. In addition, we explore several Mandela Effect theories in which we try to comprehend the complexity of the universe in a small radio station. What are some of the conspiracies, you ask?

  • Did Avril Lavigne die and get replaced by a lookalike twin?
  • The moon landing: is it fake?
  • Is the earth...flat?
  • The death of Princess Diana

And some Mandela effect questions:

  • Does the Monopoly man actually wear a monocle?
  • Is it the Berenstain Bears or the Berenstein bears?

We also pretend that we're able to take callers but don't be fooled, we have no idea how to work the phone. If I do say so myself, we definitely stepped up our audio tech game. Truth be told, we were wearing fake adhesive mustaches to really bring out our inner detective, and we got several stares from the people of Kent State who walked past us. You'll hear it, don't worry. You won't want to miss this episode, and that's an AFAF guarantee.
