Scripture Says in 1 John 3:1: “Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not.”

If you do not get anything else from these broadcasts, though I hope you do, I want you to know that God loves you. He really does. He loves you more than you love yourself. He loves you so much that He sent His only Son, Jesus Christ, to live, to suffer, to shed His blood, and to die a cruel death on Calvary for your sins and for mine. He loves you so much that He allowed His Son to die, so that you could live in Heaven forever with Him.

The Bible tells us in John 3:16 how much God loves us: “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” Someone asked “How much does God love us?” The reply was: “He stretched out His arms and died.” That is how much God loves us and that’s a whole lot of love.

There are times when we, as females, feel that we are ready to leave the nest. But after analyzing the world around us, we soon find that it’s just a fancy. Others who have acted upon such a decision almost immediately learn that they, too, should have waited, due to circumstances that arised which they did not plan for. This brings me to the following point: Do not allow anyone to encourage you to leave home if you are not ready, and if you do not have to. The world can be very cold and if you are not prepared, you will end up being overtaken.

The safest place other than being in the will of God is staying in the nest. After all, the idea of being out on your own is not to return, if possible. If your living environment is not conducive then I would advise you to seek shelter elsewhere, but only if you are endangered, and not because you choose not to comply with your parents’ rules.

My intent is not to discourage you from moving out, but to prompt you to think long and hard about your options. With all things considered, one of the joys of embracing such an exciting event in your life is being ready. As mentioned earlier, one of the marks of a mature woman is making sure you are able to handle things on your own without falling apart.

Today, I want to share with you a special note from a dear sister named Joslyn Neblett "On Not Appreciating Your Parents and Family".

Although I was raised by kinfolk (my Great Aunt and her family) and not my biological parents, I still enjoyed the benefits of such an environment. God placed me with the people He knew would give me the fundamentals of life, so I do not feel cheated in any way. As a matter of fact, I consider myself blessed. In many ways being nurtured by older people made me the person I am today.

We live in a day and time in which there are many negative influences, and as young ladies we have a tendency to follow our peers instead of the instructions of our parents. When I was younger I had the urge to do what others did, but thankfully I had parents who were concerned about me and who loved me enough to say NO. Some of you remember hearing these exact words: “Just as long as you live under my roof you’re going to do as I tell you.” Then, I felt restricted—I could not become an adult soon enough.

Quite soon, I saw the path that my peers had taken come to a dead end. Something became very clear to me—these were people (my peers) who tried to give me instruction and considered themselves wise and all the while their advice led to destruction. Thank God for parents who were in-tune and who saw to my avoiding those same mistakes that they made and the ones my peers were making.

Today, I want to share with you a special note from a dear sister named Joslyn Neblett "On Having Sex, Of Any Kind, Before Marriage"...

"Nowadays, too many young black women are finding themselves contemplating or participating in the act of pre-marital sex. Think twice before permitting your emotions to arouse your actions because this will result in your avoiding a mistake of a lifetime.

"To be honest, for many men taking a woman’s virginity and leaving her heartbroken is just a game of cat and mouse. Some women have learned this the hard way. Do not allow yourself to be placed in this situation because you will become bitter and remorseful. Your virginity is sacred; it’s also something that you can never get back. Guard it as if your life depended on it. Below I would like to share with you my first encounter. Although personal, I feel compelled to share this with you in hopes that this will help you do the smart and wise thing, and keep your virginity until marriage..."
