The Chronicler tells us that Ahaz became king and ruled for sixteen years and that “he didn’t do what was right in the Lord’s eyes, unlike his ancestor David.” … “He gathered the objects from God’s temple, cut them up, shut the doors of the Lord’s temple, and made himself altars on every corner.” (2 Chronicles 28:1,24) The people were left in darkness with no hope to be found.
God would not leave them without hope. God sent his prophet, Isaiah, to speak on his behalf to the king. Isaiah spoke that another was coming who would indeed bring hope. He said, “Therefore, the Lord will give you a sign. The young woman is pregnant and is about to give birth to a son, and she will name him Immanuel. 15 He will eat butter and honey, and learn to reject evil and choose good.”(Isaiah 7:14-15)
O come, o come, Immanuel.

We also introduce the practice of praying a specific breakthrough prayer for our church and your life—asking God to breakthrough and do miracles, even today. In Luke 11:01, Jesus’ followers prayed, “Lord, teach us to pray,” so you are invited to pray this prayer each day at 11:01.
