What can I say? The Shakedown is my place of Worship...and not just because its put on by Worship Recordings (ha!). Every month, for the past 11 years, Rob Paine and Willyum have created a vibe so solid and welcoming for all who truly believe and love House Music. There have been guests from all over the world play at this event. This is the one event that never lets me down, and I always am dancing throughout the night. There truly is no better party in Philly.
I was truly blessed when I was asked to be a part of this 11 year celebration. I opened up the Balcony of the historical Trocodero venue off of Arch Street. After me was Worship's Graphic Designer, and also kick ass DJ, Mr. Carl Michaels. Closing out the Balcony area was the dynamic duo of Rob Paine and Willyum. The Main room for this 11 year celebration hosted two of the greatest Djs that the U.S. A. has to offer to the House Music Scene - MARK FARINA & DOC MARTIN! Oh what a sweaty mass of bodies there were on that dancefloor!
Needless to say, it was an extremely memorable night, and I'm so happy that I hit my 'record' button so I can share with all of you what I played for the House Music lovers of Philadelphia last night.
