I’ve got a few friends that like to celebrate. Some might describe them as over the top at times, even ridiculous. Coming up on the Bible Story Podcast, we will learn why it is so important to Celebrate what God will do. Are you talking about me?
We will be discussing the idea of being able to celebrate what God will do before his promises have come about!
Have you ever regretted not doing something sooner? Perhaps, as a result, there was some unnecessary hardship. Each of us is part of God’s story. The sooner we submit to God, the better. Submit to God early on.
We learned that we ought to Submit to God early. There were another five plagues, and after each plague, Pharaoh’s heart was hardened. The five plagues were the death of livestock, boils, hail, locusts, and darkness. We learned that submitting to God early on is the best thing we can do. There will never be a time earlier than right now.
Have you ever wanted to do the opposite of what someone told you? Was your heart hard and angry? Coming up on the Bible Story Podcast, we will learn the value of having a soft and harmonious heart!
Welcome to the discussion episode for the story, “A Soft and Harmonious Heart.”
Moses and Aaron went to Pharaoh several times, asking him to let God’s people go into the wilderness to worship God there. God sent four different plagues on Egypt. The four plagues were the Nile river turned to blood, frogs, gnats, and flies. Pharaoh’s magicians were able to replicate the first two but not the third or fourth. After each plague, Pharaoh’s heart became hard, and he refused to let the people go. After the fourth one, he promised to release them but quickly changed his mind when the flies were gone. We learned that submitting to God is the best possible response to God regardless of the situation!
Like Moses, we can have times of doubt. Listening to God is important as he will encourage us when we are aligned with him.
Everyone has struggled with times of doubt. It is part of being human and why God has given us the gift of faith.
Have you ever felt like God was missing in Action? When you really needed him to show up, he was missing or not listening? We can ask, God, why all this misery?
We will share a story when Moses was confused, hurt and frustrated by God. We will learn how we can respond and what to do with it!
Welcome to the discussion episode for the story, “God, why all this Misery?” Moses had a hard conversation with God and we can too!
Moses responded to God by saying, "Here I am." God calling us is a huge deal. We need to be ready and willing to respond to God with the same willingness Moses had.
Moses - had several questions and still responds to the voice of God with “Here I am.” We pray that we all can respond in this way to the calling God has given us, willing to walk the path with God!
You know when you can't seem to understand something. Often we fail to understand how great God is. We can ask, 'God, open our eyes.' He will help us see or understand just how amazing he is!
The lesson for the story is a prayer, 'God, open our eyes.' Today we dove into 2 Kings 6:8-22. Elisha prayed a particular prayer that frames the lesson of this week. God answered Elisha's prayer. God opened the young man's eyes to the wonder of God. The young man saw the power of God in the midst of fear, war, and imminent battle. We can still ask this of God today.
The lesson is, Jesus invites us to unusual unity. Which is such a bizarre lesson considering the text you choose for us this week. You have to admit that aligning ourselves with Christ is very different than what most do in our world today. Imagine how incredible our world would be if everyone attempted to align themselves with Christ!
Come together and discuss the story of Zacchaeus and the lesson that Jesus invites us to unusual unity. Zacchaeus' commitment was huge!
We are called to love everyone, even the most difficult people. In fact, Jesus calls us to love our enemies, regardless of the circumstances!
It speaks of how we are called to love and not just those who are easy or fun to love, but even those we hate, hurt us, and do us wrong!
This is a huge question. Jesus asked blind Bartimaeus, "What do you want me to do for you?" We can also answer this question.
We heard about Bartimaeus calling out to Jesus, and then Jesus heals him, restoring his eyesight.
We learned that we are not going to annoy Jesus with our desperation and asking him a lot and that we can tell him honestly what it is that we want him to do for us!
A new thing out of the old and broken is what God does. He heals, forgives, and helps each of us live in a growing relationship with himself.
Today we spoke about the renewal and redemption that came through God. He has brought a new thing to the world.
Incredibly, we can have a relationship with a God that loves us so much. We will be talking about His Kingdom is Love.
We spoke about Psalms 45 today. And the idea of God's Kingdom, his guidance and leadership. His overseeing of humanity, and the love that He is and brings to this! His Kingdom is Love.
Joy is transformative. There is nothing that brings me more joy than reflecting on this, God becoming human and living among us.
Joy is transformative! Our story today was found in Isaiah 9:1-7. Isaiah talks about the drastic impact and difference that a relationship with God can have. And he continues to foretell the coming of the Messiah, the light of the world and the son of God! Pretty exciting stuff!
Jesus brings peace to those who submit to His leading. As we are filled with his peace, we also glorify him in our submission to him.
We learned in the story that Jesus brings peace. He is a shepherd that leads His people to peace - The person we know as Jesus is the Messiah.
There is hope in Jesus. You probably expect a story about Christmas from the gospels. Instead, we are going way back 100’s of years earlier
There is hope in Jesus. God told Ahaz not to worry and told him to ask for something to confirm God’s predictions.
Following Jesus is Hard. Over the last several weeks, we have been learning about Saul, who is now going by the name Paul.
Welcome back to the discussion episode for the story; Following Jesus is hard! Paul and Barnabas share the message about Jesus in Lystra.
So today, we will learn that we ought to promote the message about Jesus. Last week, we ended the story with Saul and Barnabas set apart
Welcome back to the discussion episode for the story; Promote the Message About Jesus. In this story, Paul and Barnabas met some who did not want the message about Jesus to be shared
So today, we are going to learn that within the church, a crisis will bring growth. If you remember from last week. The apostles sent Saul
A crisis will bring growth. We learned that the Church was growing and that the early Christian church was spending a lot of time with God.
Today we learned that to live is Christ and to die is gain. Saul Angered the Jewish Leaders by proving that Jesus was the Messiah.
Before we get into the background of the story, the key lesson for us all to learn today is this “to live is Christ to die is gain.”
Today’s story teaches us that No One is Beyond Reach. In this case, we are speaking about the love of God and his forgiveness.
No One is Beyond Reach. God's forgiveness of Saul's sins and God’s willingness to make Saul new through the Holy Spirit.
The lesson this week is, “We are sent together!” We were never meant to serve God by ourselves. We are to serve God together.
It is time to discuss the story "We are Sent Together." In today’s story, we learn about Jesus sending his disciples out two by two.
If you don't understand, trust God anyway. The Bible is overwhelming at times! But don’t let that discourage you from reading more or continuing to learn from it. Remember, you do not have to figure it all out! God often reveals things over time, which leads me to the lesson of the week. We do not have to understand God to trust God.
Even if you or I don't understand God's instructions, we all should trust God anyway because he is good and faithful to us.
Today’s story teaches us blessing comes with obedience. God gives us all instructions; most we can find scripture. When we follow God’s instructions, good things come to our lives as a result. That does not mean the absence of challenging and difficult situations. But a general flow of life is when we are obedient to God blessings follow.
Today’s lesson was blessing comes with obedience. In this story, Abram’s dad passes away, and then Abram is instructed to go to the Land that God will show him. There God will make a great nation out of him. So Abram follows and takes everyone in his household and his nephew Lot, and they make there a way to Canaan. One night or maybe during the day. God shows up in person and affirms what he said to Abram. Abram then responds in worship.
We need to let Jesus become greater, and we need to become less! This desire goes against our natural instinct. He must become greater
He Must Become Greater. Today we learned about John the baptist and his response to Jesus baptizing people near him.
Our key takeaway is a question. Do you believe in Jesus? That is such a great question. If I believe in Jesus, then I want to know him and grow in a relationship with him, and the more I discover about him, the more I want to share what I know about him, like his love with others! We are going to learn just how significant that question is in our story today!
Do you believe in Jesus? Today we shared the story of Jesus speaking to Nicodemus. He is talking to Nicodemus about being reborn in the spirit and living an everlasting life with God in heaven
Today, we are going to learn that worship is more important! Think of worship as our response to who God is and what he has done or is doing.
Worship is more important. Jesus goes to Jerusalem with his disciples to celebrate the Passover.
