In this episode of the Fearless Sellers podcast, host Joie Roberts interviews Becca Hadley, who, together with her husband, built an extraordinary $10 million Amazon business while raising their three children. Starting with a passion for graphic design and custom wedding invitations, the couple ventured into selling on Amazon, launching their first product—a recipe card—in 2016. As they progressed, they expanded their business to include unique party products and printables, leveraging their design expertise.
The Hadleys faced challenges when the COVID-19 pandemic hit, causing a significant drop in sales. This turning point led them to refocus, adapt their business strategy, and put distractions behind them. They credit their ability to balance personal and professional life, as well as their strong partnership, to their success in the Amazon business. By setting clear goals for both family and business and maintaining a specific routine, they've managed to create a harmonious balance in their lives.
Some essential takeaways from their incredible journey include starting small, finding a niche, staying focused on selling winning products, maintaining a strong partnership with their spouse, setting goals, and establishing routines for both business and family life. Becca and her husband also emphasize the importance of "date nights," which allow them to step away from their work environment, have fun, and strengthen their bond as a couple.
The guest discusses the significance of nurturing personal relationships while running a business, managing money wisely, involving family members, and building a dependable team. They share their approach to managing inventory and finances in the early stages of their business, emphasizing the importance of an abundance mindset, hard work, and careful planning. The couple enjoys teaching their children about money, savings, and investing, which has further enriched their family life.
Furthermore, Becca talks about the importance of differentiating products through design, creating a strong brand on Amazon, and connecting with customers. By being adaptable and letting go of products or designs that aren't working, they've managed to build a thriving business with over 1300 SKUs. The Hadleys share their approach to scaling, setting annual goals broken down into smaller, manageable targets, and having regular meetings with their team to keep everyone aligned.
In addition to their success on Amazon, the couple has expanded their business to other platforms, such as Walmart and Etsy, and expressed interest in teaching others graphic design to help them achieve similar results. The Hadleys' story serves as an inspiring example of how determination, creativity, and a balanced approach to personal and professional life can lead to phenomenal success in the world of Amazon selling.

Amazon FBA seller tools can be both a blessing and a curse.
A blessing in that they make getting data and insights so much faster. But be careful that you don't allow all this data to stop you from moving forward in your business.
Jamie started selling on Amazon over 10 years ago when there were very few third-party tools available for Amazon businesses.
They had to rely on identifying opportunities by analyzing market trends and consumer behavior.
The use of external tools became more prevalent in the industry, but Jamie emphasizes the importance of staying focused on your category and continuously innovating within that space.
Helium 10 is their preferred tool for product research, but they also use other tools like Chrome extensions to enhance their process.
They encourage sellers to think about what questions they want to answer in their business and what tools can help them solve those problems.
Jamie and Joie caution against getting too caught up in comparing data from different tools and getting lost in the analysis.
Jamie also emphasizes the importance of having SOPs in place and using tools to enhance and streamline processes.
Joie also suggest seeking out recommendations from the community and asking for advice on which tools can help solve specific problems in your business.

Selling on Amazon without safety standards or certifications? Looks like a slippery slope! Because one misstep, and you'll lose all you’ve built in a blink!

In this episode, we’re featuring the inspiring story of an optometrist couple who quit their jobs to grow a successful online business selling eye care products on Amazon!
So, how did it all happen?
Jenna and Travis Zigler were in search of a more fulfilling career when they decided to quit their traditional jobs to open two optometry practices. While they enjoyed better fulfillment and peace of mind, they had so few patients coming that they started to get bored. Sometime later, Travis discovered the Amazing Selling Machine course, which the two of them took and used as the key to starting their own online business, Eye Love.
At first, they sold polarized sunglasses, but a patient's complaint about the high price of a prescription medication for dry eyes led them to pivot into the dry eye market. They built a community around their brand, with 25,000 followers on Facebook, and expanded their product line, despite many problems along the way. Eventually, Eye Love made it into the hands of a larger brand, hence allowing Jenna and Travis to continue their passion for providing eye care to people in need!

Segment 1: Introduction to AI chat tools
As businesses continue to explore new ways to engage with customers online, artificial intelligence (AI) chat tools are becoming an increasingly popular option. These tools leverage AI algorithms, such as the Generative Pre-trained Transformer (GPT) or Gradient Boosting Trees (GBT), to interact with customers in real-time via chat.
Segment 2: Amazon's chatbot mastermind: Jamie
One example of an AI chat tool is Jamie, a chatbot developed by Amazon. Jamie is a powerful tool that can hold conversations with customers, answer their questions, and even make product recommendations. This tool uses a combination of GBT and GPT algorithms to provide an intuitive and engaging chat experience.
Segment 3: Using prompts to guide the conversation
To make chatbots like Jamie more effective, developers often use prompts to guide the conversation. These prompts are a set of basic terms or questions that can help steer the chat in the right direction. By using prompts, chatbots can keep the conversation on topic and avoid getting sidetracked.
Segment 4: Fearless listing and selling with AI
For businesses looking to sell products online, AI chat tools can be a game-changer. By using tools like Jamie, businesses can engage with customers in a way that feels natural and intuitive. This can help build trust and ultimately lead to more sales. With AI chat tools, businesses can become fearless when it comes to listing and selling products online.
Segment 5: The power of thought listing
To get the most out of AI chat tools like Jamie, it's important to take the time to carefully consider your thought listing. Thought listing involves thinking about the questions and concerns your customers are likely to have, and then coming up with responses in advance. By doing this, you can create a more seamless chat experience that feels more like a conversation than a scripted interaction.
Segment 6: Conclusion
In conclusion, AI chat tools are a powerful way for businesses to engage with customers online. By using GPT and GPT algorithms, combined with carefully crafted prompts and thought listing, businesses can create a chat experience that is engaging, intuitive, and effective. With these tools, businesses can become more fearless when it comes to listing and selling products online.

Listen to Yulia Blinova, how her foray into the world of Amazon FBA and FBM by chance eventually helped her pursue hers and her husband’s love for travel. Launching their first product: LED charging cables at modest sales of around $20,000 per month, the husband-wife duo centered their focus on their Amazon business more over time, diving into personal protection brands soon after, including RFID blocker cards, sleeves, wallets, car key fob pouches, and more.

Welcome to 15 mins of Fearless!
Amazon is keeping close tabs on all the traffic coming to its platform and can identify where it comes from. You want people / potential buyers to see your Amazon listing? You need traffic to flow to your listing.
Amazon loves outside traffic - meaning links that are from other websites not owned by Amazon. The two types of traffic are organic and paid.
Although Amazon will reward both types of external traffic campaigns (organic and paid), I have reason to believe they prefer paid traffic… Here's why! These new eyeballs coming from external sources could result in Amazon Prime Members! Amazon now has shopping data on these new visitors that you brought in from external sources.
They can now market to them with ads and emails and they didn’t have to pay to get these people - you brought them in for Amazon!
Makes Sense why Amazon would give you a nice boost for bringing people in right? If you join the Brand Referral Bonus Program - then you will also get a percentage of kickback from Amazon on your own sales! Typically it’s around 10% For the Brand referral bonus you need to be Brand Register.
If you are selling on Amazon, you are going to be running Amazon PPC especially at product launch and you need to be running Google Ads as well! The first 30- 60 days of a product launch are super important to your ranking on Amazon. This is often referred to the Honeymoon phase.
Google Ads are simple to set up and google is the go to platform for people looking for information. If you’re new to running Google Ads, I will walk us through the basic 5 steps to getting started. I suggest using these simple steps and then getting more advanced as you learn more.
I will keep it simple and I will end with my favorite - yet simple google ads trick that helped me reach my $1M sales goal in 12 months.
I am walking you through the basics, so you know how simple it is to run your first campaign on google ads!
Total Time Needed: 30 minutes
Step 1 : Set up your account in Google.
Step 2 : Add your payment details.
Have your keywords ready. Use the keyword research you’ve done for Amazon PPC and your listing .
Step 3 : Create an exact match campaign on Google. Put in the same exact keywords you want to rank and win for on Amazon into google!
Step 4 : Direct the campaign to the main link for your product on Amazon. Do not get fancy here, do not create a custom link—as it may add complexity. Do that later when you are more comfortable with your ads and results.
Step 5: Budget! Apply a $5-50 per day budget. Google will suggest campaign budgets to you for your keywords.
That’s it! You created your first Google Ads campaign.
The Goal is not to convert.. Yet. Don’t get lost in the tracking and ROI right away when you launch. This is about boosting your Amazon listing ranking on Amazon.
Also consider outside traffic with Facebook Ads, Influencers and Email.
If you are interested in my team and I helping you start, grow, and scale your own Amazon biz book a strategy call HERE.
I have now inspired you to take 30 minutes to set up your google ads campaign, stay tuned for more advanced outside traffic tips to come on this Podcast and until then.

Mary Paredes is the Creative Director at Share It Studio and an expert at helping Amazon Sellers increase their conversion rates through visual content.
It’s not just about making the content beautiful but rather making content (photos & video) that is going to get results.
They levarge PickFu to test and measure each image to see which one is going to perform best.
Effective video is absolutely essential for your Amazon listing. Videos done right will give you a massive advantage over your competition.
One thing to keep in mind is the type of video that works well on one platform won’t necessarily be a good fit for another platform. It is important to understand what types of videos will get the best results.
Amazon Inspire is an app that is very similar to TikTok. Mary strongly recommends you take advantage of this huge opportunity.
Inspire not only shows your video but it also will link to your product. It is a very easy to use app.
The video content that works best on Inspire and Instagram is relatively short and

Many people are turning to side hustles as a way to make extra income, and selling on Amazon is THE best side hustle that can eventually replace your 9-5 and beyond.
But how can you succeed at selling on Amazon while balancing multiple priorities and limited time and resources?
It is important to understand the basics of selling on Amazon. To start, you'll need to set up a seller account. You need to find a product sell. You'll need to optimize your listings with keywords and high-quality images to increase visibility and attract your buyers.
Don’t have a product to sell yet? Checkout this 15 Mins of Fearless Podcast, Episode 10 I did recently HERE.
My best tip is to: Set Realistic Goals! With your money and margins!
While it's possible to make a significant amount of money - and we are always hearing of the multi million dollar Amazon sellers! YET it is important to remember that success takes time and success takes effort.
Know your number!!
This means understanding your profit margins, your expenses, and your break-even point. By knowing your numbers, you'll be able to set realistic revenue and profit goals for your business.
Once you have steady sales and inventory is under control, it might be time to push your price up.
It is okay to start small - but it’s most important to start, that is where you start to see the magic. You cannot be successful on Amazon if you never start.

Until next time Stay fearless!!
Been trying to optimize your Amazon ads, but to no avail? What’re you possibly missing?
Most likely, you’re following the footsteps of someone who comes with:
a higher/lower budget,
starkly different comfort levels, and, most importantly,
disparate goals.
In today’s episode, Elizabeth Greene, Co-Founder of Junglr, a specialist Amazon marketing agency, joins Joie to talk about setting goals that uncover what’s important to yourself and creating Amazon advertising strategies tailored to them. The whole challenge, if you look at the big picture, lies in striking a balance between spending money on advertising to generate sales and keeping profit margins at a comfortable level.
So if you want to master Amazon advertising? Focus on highly relevant keywords and target your exact market to see a return on investment. You don't (necessarily) have to compete with the big dogs - just map out a strategy that aligns with your personal comfort levels and brand goals. And remember, the initial investment in advertising is a necessary step in launching a product!
Also, keep in mind NOT to give up on keywords that aren't converting - retargeting and bid control can work wonders! The most successful Amazon sellers stay curious, analyze data, and adjust their strategies accordingly. So be data-driven, stay open to new approaches, and crush it on Amazon!!
Until next time.

In this episode Amazon Selling Expert Pearl Ausch shares her views on making money on Amazon and her unique perspective on growing a company while keeping a healthy relationship with money.
Pearl is the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Frisbi living in Brooklyn in the Hasidic community and is a mother of three. Frisbi helps Amazon brands scale globally and is a preferred partner of Amazon.
Pearl shares the key to getting everything done is that everything has to be planned and on the calendar. If it’s not on her calendar then it is not happening.
Her family is a product of the Holocaust survivors. She shares how in the community parenting has changed a lot today vs her growing up. Her parents did push her a lot to be successful although she shared she did not do well in school academically. Today there is a much bigger focus on helping people love themselves and therapy when needed.
Pearl and her husband started on Amazon by selling gift baskets. They grew the revenue quickly to the point they were doing over a million dollars in just six weeks but struggled to be profitable.
Pearl and her husband learned some very valuable lessons including how to manage cash flow, limit overhead, and the importance of using a 3PL (third party logistics) warehouse to become more profitable. As a result her husband started a 3PL called Tactical Logistics.
Pearl strongly advises against using credit card and taking on debt. While debt can be helpful in some cases often it can be a “snake” that sneaks up on people and puts them in a hole they can not get out of.
Teach yourself and your family how to manage your finances.
While scaling your business globally is a huge opportunity there are also a lot of details you need to ensure are implemented including product compliance, language differences, and logistics. Frisbi helps solve all of these things for sellers.
Pearl recommends not to expand internationally until you’ve done everything you can to maximize your sales and profitability in your domestic market. Then make sure you are fully invested and ready to scale internationally.
Managing your financials and P&L (Profit and Loss) is critical. First step is making sure your books are in order is a first step and then study your results, and put in a plan of action to improve. Budgeting, budgeting, and more budgeting. She highly recommends Dave Ramsey.
Her advice for helping your kids with money is to make sure they understand money has to be earned.
People that are successful have a budget.
She has a “Kosher” phone! This means her phone is completely app free to help her limit all distractions and be much more productive and to be more available for her children.
Pearl and her team run their company using EOS, Entrepreneurial Operating System. It helps ensure “everyone is in the right seat” and provides a complete management system that helps entrepreneurs reach their business goals. Pearl highly recommend the book Traction.

In this episode Elizaveta Ritz of Ritz Momentum shares her journey as a young entrepreneur in the Amazon space and how to make a huge impact through social media marketing.
She shares what it takes to prepare and execute their marketing strategy at the biggest Amazon events, such as Prosper and other industry events.
At Helium 10’s Sell & Scale Event, Elizaveta leveraged the “leaderboard” app to really make a name for herself as she ranked in to top 2 among all attendees throughout the conference!
Host Joie and Elizaveta actually met through both being on the leaderboard at the conference.
Elizaveta shares her scary conversation of telling her immigrant mother that she wanted to stop going to school to focus on business. She at an early age knows what she wants and shares the key is to have the work ethic to make it happen.
While Elizaveta is an industry expert in the social media space she really limits her own consumption of Social Media including never scrolling through TikTok.
You can use social media to find amazing products to sell on Amazon. Elizaveta walks through the exact methodology she uses to help clients of Ritz Momentum.
Another important social media strategy is to build your brand on Instagram way before you launch your product!
It’s important to do Brand Name research and check name saturation via both Instagram hashtags and via Google searches.
A great tip is to focus on some of the small and medium searched hashtags and then work up to larger ones in the future. If you build success using this method on Instagram your odds of success for your product on Amazon are very high.
Amazon Inspire is a powerful new app that is very similar to Instagram but is for Amazon products. The key is post high quality content on Inspire and that cross post to multiple platforms as you never know which platform your content will work really well.
Her big plans and advice for 2023 is to keep hustling and to make sure the content you create and your followers are authentic! What matters is buyers not your number of followers!

Working from home, especially when alone, can feel very isolating and unhelpful. The silence of your room can sometimes drive you crazy, making it hard to concentrate and think clearly.
And if your friends/family don’t seem to understand your business, it becomes all the more harder. That’s the first thing Carrie Miller, our guest for today’s episode of the Fearless Sellers podcast, gets into conversation about.
As a successful Amazon FBA seller, she recommends collaborating with a group of entrepreneurs and helping each other grow.
In addition, though many sellers believe that Amazon is a 'set it and forget it' platform, she stresses that it’s important to maintain and update products on Amazon, as well as continually grow and expand your brand—with a clear vision for what you want to do.
Currently partnering with her dad on the business, she also recalls her life from the time she started out her career — as a teacher after studying at Pepperdine University. Carrie expresses happiness over the fact that the path to success no longer requires a traditional college education or specific degree. The rise of social media and online resources like YouTube, has made it possible for anyone to learn and achieve success in their field without the need for traditional education. In addition, Amazon has allowed people to be creative—create products, grow their brands and provide value to customers—and generally encouraged people to explore, without being constrained by traditional paths.
Here are some other lessons from this conversation:
People often think that they can become a millionaire quickly by selling on Amazon, but it is not true. It is important to invest money back into the business and have a future goal of selling it.>> Some people may believe that it is easy to sell on Amazon, but it's not true and one needs to treat it as a business, take it seriously and be creative with it.
Due diligence and inspection processes are important checks before shipping your products. >> There is always something new to learn, implement and do on Amazon.

The fast and ever-changing nature of the Amazon marketplace for sellers could scare many, but not our guest for today’s show, Vanessa Hung.
Thriving in creativity and innovation, Vanessa sits with Joie in this episode of the Fearless Sellers Podcast to reveal the secrets to her influential success in the industry despite the rapidly changing policies and practices, which include embracing discomfort and constant innovation and developing a problem-solving mindset.
Vanessa is the CEO of Online Seller Solutions as well as a Community Ambassador at Carbon6.
Vanessa’s journey started as an E-commerce manager for another company that wanted to get on Amazon. She was responsible for building the company's presence on the platform from the ground up, but because the company was a reseller and not a brand, she wasn’t in charge of product development or shipping from China. Seeing businesses like that navigate the otherwise unsexy side of Amazon with a degree of difficulty, which includes things like inventory management, order fulfillment, and customer service, Vanessa realized the opportunity—she could form an agency that provides this support to them—and made the best out of it!
Though starting the agency was a big risk as it required leaving her previous E-commerce manager job, and it did cause her nine months of financial difficulty, she kept going because she believed in the idea. Today, it has almost 20 employees, and she’s proud of the progress they have made. And though she occasionally compares her agency with bigger ones employing 100-200 people, she’s proud of her growth.
Of the many lessons she gives away today, the important ones include:

Starting a business can be a rollercoaster ride, full of ups and downs, twists and turns. But for today’s guest on the Fearless Sellers podcast, it all began in an out-of-the-blue spark-of-inspiration moment while out for a walk with a stroller and her baby as a sleep-deprived teenage mom.
She saw a problem that needed solving and set about developing a solution. The enthusiasm was so high that she dedicated to finish the concepting early enough in the spring, and by the end of the year, had already registered the domain name. It took some time to bring the heart-warming vision to fruition, but eventually, when the products went live, they were ready to help make the lives of other sleep-deprived, busy, loving parents a little easier.
The journey was in no way easy, and had brought in plenty of unpredictable challenges along, including her own health issues. But she persevered, driven by the desire to help other parents navigate the challenges of parenthood, and inspiring better solutions to financial independence.
That was Cara Sayer, whose hard work has paid off in ways that almost the whole Amazon selling space knows about! As she joins Joie in this episode, you’ll hear about the journey and lessons that carry the delight and stress of her success. Of the many things to imbibe from her is the importance of treating your customers well, of having good marketing and packaging, and of being adaptable and open to learning. Cara would tell you how essential it has been in her journey to news-worthy success. Not only that, but over time, she’s gathered some immensely valuable advice to share with others just starting out on Amazon, including selling a product you’re passionate about and enjoy, as it will make the journey more exciting. She would also suggest you test and adjust your pricing to find a balance between maximizing profits and maintaining sales.
However, Cara would also caution you against believing the hype of overnight success on Amazon. You can certainly become a millionaire, a billionaire, or even a trillionaire, but wanting that overnight might be a highly unlikely result, as it takes incredible hard work and perseverance to succeed.

Hassle-free fulfillment, low-cost shipping, more-than-efficient customer service, and unlimited selling potential, among others: despite Amazon’s luxurious offerings for its FBA sellers, the percentage of women participating in Amazon FBA is still alarmingly low – just 25-30%!
Why do you think that is?
More interesting are the stats of female success on Amazon, which, if not higher, are at a comparably equal standard as the men in the game.
What’s causing the surprising gap?
Turns out, female sellers on Amazon FBA face not only the typical challenges of balancing work and family, tackling stereotypes and biases, securing funding, mastering marketing and branding, and competing with their peers but also the added obstacle of being underrepresented in the industry and facing a lack of many role models to learn from.
That’s why Joie and her fearless team at the Fearless Sellers podcast have created a show dedicated to amplifying the voices of successful women Amazon sellers and sharing their secrets to success with the rest of the world, one episode at a time – The Fearless Sellers Podcast. So that they don’t just inspire passionate female sellers but have an easier way of reaching them.

Powerhouse women are driving big business in the Amazon World and that’s why my guest on this inaugural episode of Fearless Sellers is the brilliant Izabella Ritz. Izabella joins me for a candid conversation about what it looks like to be a bold, unapologetically ambitious entrepreneur and mother of four.
She shares with us her fascinating journey from growing up in Russia (and experiencing deprivation) to building a new life in the United States, adapting (with huge success!) to multiple global cultures and selling styles. Izabella makes it all seem effortless, but the truth is a LOT of effort has been required for this startup guru to meet the exacting standards she insists upon, starting with herself.
She outworks everyone but also keeps her core values front and center, protecting her family life with fierce time management skill. It’s a formula that obviously works, given that Izabella has been able to build incredibly successful startup ventures – again and again!
You’ll love meeting this fascinating personality, learning about how she navigates the Amazon seller community and what it feels like to try, fail and ultimately succeed wildly in building a rewarding life. Join us in celebrating a woman who is modeling success for her children, aspirational moms and would-be entrepreneurs everywhere!
