A student at the University of Alicante tweets a screenshot of a message asking a professor to change an exam date because it coincides with Spain's match against Japan for a place in the round of 16. The professor's response goes viral, in which he says that it is more patriotic to take the exam and contribute to the science and technology of Spain than to watch the soccer match. The student's request has received mixed reactions, with some people saying that it is impossible to finish the exam in time if it starts at 8:00 p.m. However, the professor's response has also received mixed reactions, with some people saying that it is more patriotic to take the exam and contribute to the science and technology of Spain. In the end, the professor's response leaves the decision in the hands of the student, saying that it is up to the student to decide whether to take the exam or watch the soccer match.

Luis Enrique Martinez, Spanish coach, has said that his team will not "speculate" in any way in their duel against Japan before the possibility of being more beneficial to be second in their group in the World Cup in Qatar.
Martinez believes that his team is good enough to finish first and does not want to take any risks by playing for a draw.
If Spain finishes second in their group, they could avoid playing Brazil in the quarterfinals.
However, if they speculate and are eliminated in the last 15 seconds of their match against Japan, they will have no one to blame but themselves.
Martinez has told his players to try to enjoy the World Cup despite the tension inherent in it.
Unai Simón is confident that Spain will do well in the World Cup, despite being considered the favorite. Simón believes that the team's well-defined playing style will help them succeed. The team is mostly focused on their game against Japan, but are aware of the possible outcomes of the other match. Simón thinks that being the favorite is not an advantage, as history has shown. The team is prepared to work hard and stick to their game plan in order to win the World Cup.
The German national team will take on Costa Rica on the third matchday of the Group Stage of the Qatar 2022 World Cup. The match will take place at Al Bayt Stadium on December 1 at 8:00 p.m. Spanish peninsular time. Germany is looking to win in order to qualify for the round of 16, but they are aware that Costa Rica still has a chance of advancing. Probable lineups for the match include a German team that will focus on ball possession in order to nullify the Costa Rican team as much as possible.
Croatia and Belgium will play each other in the Group F match of the Group Stage of the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar on Thursday, December 1. The result of this match will decide the qualification to the next stage of the 2022 World Cup. According to Qatar's schedule, the Group Stage kicked off on November 20 and ends on December 2. The World Cup final that the Croatia-Belgium teams are hoping to reach in the November 30 match will take place at the Iconic Stadium in Lusail. The December 1 Group F match between Croatia and Belgium will be played at the Al Rayyan Stadium. The match of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar between the teams of Croatia and Belgium will be played on December 1 at 16:00 h (peninsular time).
In a match that is key for the future of both Argentina and Poland, Lionel Messi and Robert Lewandowski will go head-to-head. Both teams need a victory to stay alive in the World Cup, and the pressure is on for both players. Messi is coming off a successful season with Barcelona, while Lewandowski is fresh off of scoring his first World Cup goal. Poland's coach has downplayed the importance of the match, but it is clear that this is a battle between the two best players in the world. Whoever comes out on top will likely advance to the round of 16.
The United States narrowly defeated Iran to qualify for the round of 16 of the World Cup in Qatar. A solitary goal by Pulisic was enough for the Americans to win the match to the frustration of the Asians, who once again failed to advance from the group stage. Their opponent will be the Netherlands in the next round.
The match was very back-and-forth, with both teams having opportunities to score. However, it was the United States that ultimately found the back of the net, thanks to a goal by Christian Pulisic. Unfortunately, Pulisic was injured in the play and had to be replaced.
The tension of the previous days, in which US Soccer's removal of the Islamic Republic's crest from the Iranian flag sparked the anger of the Asian country, came to the fore in the most political match of the tournament.
Despite being the underdog, the United States persisted and was rewarded with a victory. They will now face the Netherlands in the round of 16.
Canelo Alvarez threatened Lionel Messi after the Argentine was accused of disrespecting Mexico.
In a video that has been circulating, Messi appears to kick a Mexico jersey on the floor as the rest of the Argentina team celebrates in their locker room.
Canelo had some strong words for Messi after seeing his locker room celebration, saying that he better pray that he doesn't find him.
Lionel Messi's former teammate Sergio Aguero tweeted in defense of the soccer star, saying that Canelo doesn't know about football and what happens in a locker room.
Aguero explained that the shirts are always on the floor after games due to sweat and that Messi was just trying to remove his boot when he accidentally hit the jersey.
The Iranian government has threatened to imprison or torture the family members of its national team players if they "do not behave" properly during the Qatar 2022 World Cup. This follows the team's refusal to sing the national anthem during their first match against England. In the second match, against Wales, the players did sing the anthem. The team's coach, Carlos Queiroz, has reportedly told the players that they can protest within FIFA rules. The Iranian government is said to be planning to increase the number of actors present in the stadium for the match against the United States.
The Ecuadorian national team was eliminated from the World Cup in the last match, losing to Senegal 1-2. This is a bitter disappointment for a team that had shown much promise throughout the tournament. The African champions were deservedly victorious, more incisive and determined to win the match. This is the second time in Senegal's history that they have made it out of the group stage of a World Cup. For Ecuador, this was a very young team with much talent and they have many promises for the future.
On the second day of the World Cup in Qatar, Italian fan Mario Ferri jumped onto the pitch during the match between Portugal and Uruguay, carrying a peace flag and a T-shirt calling for an end to the war in Ukraine.
Ferri has been invading major events for more than 12 years, but few expected that there would be a person capable of challenging Qatar.
The man was carrying the peace flag (mistaken for the LGBT+ Pride flag because it had a rainbow), and a T-shirt with the Superman logo on which the phrases "Save Ukraine" and "Respect For Iranian Women" could be read.
After a few hours in custody, it was Mario Ferri himself, through his Instagram account, who announced that he is now free.
In statements to RAC1, Ferri revealed that FIFA president Gianni Infantino helped him: "I had a lot of problems with the police, but he showed up and resolved the situation," he said.
Cody Gakpo has been one of the stars of the early stages of the World Cup, scoring three goals in three games. He has also been in impressive form for his club, PSV Eindhoven, this season. Gakpo is a versatile player who can play across the front line, and his goals so far at the World Cup have come from his left foot, right foot, and head.
Several Premier League clubs have been linked with a move for Gakpo, and former Netherlands international Ryan Babel believes Arsenal would be an "incredible" destination for the 23-year-old. Babel himself is a former Liverpool player and would love to see Gakpo join the Reds, but thinks Arsenal may be a better fit.
Gakpo is currently with the Netherlands at the World Cup in Qatar and has two goals in as many games as his side sit top of Group A with a game left.
The Netherlands qualified for the knockout stage of the 2022 World Cup with a 2-0 win over Qatar. It was a dominant performance by the Dutch, who had 70% of the possession and outshot their opponents 26 to 3. Cody Gakpo scored the first goal of the match in the 26th minute, and Frenkie de Jong scored the second in the 48th minute. With this result, the Netherlands finish first in Group A and will face the second-placed team from Group B in the Round of 16.
Australia and Denmark are set to face each other in the final match of Group D in the Qatar 2022 World Cup. The winner of this match will automatically qualify for the round of 16, while the loser will need to rely on other results to progress. Tunisia, who are currently third in the group, can still qualify if they manage to beat France in their match.
Both teams will be looking to win this match, but Denmark may have a more difficult task ahead of them. The Danes have already lost to France and drawn with Tunisia, while Australia have beaten Tunisia and put up a good fight against France. Australia will also be boosted by the fact that they are playing on home soil.
The match between Australia and Denmark is set to take place at the Al Janoub stadium in Al Wakrah from 12:00 (Argentine time) with the refereeing of the Algerian Mustapha Ghorbal.
After Belgium's 2-0 loss to Morocco, several players got into a heated argument with Kevin De Bruyne, Eden Hazard, and Jan Vertonghen at the center. Romelu Lukaku had to step in and pull them apart. De Bruyne had made controversial comments before the game about the team's age, and Vertonghen appeared to take offense to them in his post-match interview. It's unclear what exactly happened in the dressing room, but it seems that tensions are high among the team.
The Belgian national team is in disarray after a poor showing at the World Cup so far. Tensions are high within the team, with accusations flying between players. Kevin de Bruyne started the trouble by saying that the team is too old and has no chance of winning the World Cup, to which Jan Vertonghen responded that the team is also too old to be playing well.
Eden Hazard and Thibaut Courtois, two of the team's star players, have spoken out to try to calm the situation. They deny that there is any internal division within the team, and say that everyone is united and focused on the next match against Croatia. However, it remains to be seen whether the team will be able to put aside their differences and play well enough to win.
Mexico is currently at the bottom of Group C in the World Cup, behind Argentina, Poland, and Saudi Arabia. They need to beat Saudi Arabia in their next match to have any chance of moving on to the round of 16. Coach Gerardo Martino is under pressure from the Mexican press, but he remains focused on the task at hand. He is confident that his team can win, but knows they will have to play their best to do so.
The United States won their match against Iran 1-0, qualifying for the round of 16 where they will face the Netherlands. England also qualified for the round of 16, defeating Wales 3-0. These results mean that England and the United States will face Senegal and the Netherlands respectively in the first knockout stage of the 2022 World Cup.
The Mexican National Team will play their last game of the group stage against Saudi Arabia on Wednesday, November 30. If they win, they will advance to the round of 16. However, they will need to score at least three goals, as they have gone 384 minutes without scoring in a World Cup. Saudi Arabia has the edge going into the match, as they have shown a better performance than Mexico in their first two matches. Mexico must also hope for a favorable result in the match between Argentina and Poland in order to advance to the next round. The match between Saudi Arabia and Mexico will be broadcast on El 5 and available for streaming on the website linked.
The 2022 World Cup is being held in Qatar and Senegal has become the first African country to qualify for the round of 16 after their win against Ecuador. Ecuador had previously reached the World Cup finals three times, and Senegal twice, but in this particular case Ecuador had the critical one-point advantage. However, Senegal made sure Ecuador took no points from the game and advanced with their win. The Netherlands also advanced to the last 16 after their dominant victory over Qatar.
The Board of Directors of the Universitat Jaume I of Castellón has decided to suspend the authorization for the Consell de l'Estudiantat to install a giant screen on campus to broadcast the Spanish National Team's match in the World Cup in Qatar. This decision comes after complaints that the broadcasting of the first match was interpreted as institutional support of the University to the host country, Qatar, and its World Cup, which is surrounded in controversy, worldwide, by the violation of human rights in the Qatari state and the death of thousands of immigrant workers in the construction of the stadiums.
Valencia CF captain José Luis Gayà has returned to training after being sidelined for the World Cup in Qatar due to a slight ankle sprain. Gayà participated in a mini-match and said he is physically "at his best". Gattuso gave him a few extra days before returning to work with the group.
André Almeida, who was one of the great sensations of Valencia CF until the break, appeared at a press conference and spoke about Gayà's situation: "He trained today for the first time. He trained a little bit. I don't know how he is, but he feels good. It's a pity he's not in the national team. He is an excellent person and an excellent captain."
The full-back had a few more days off than his teammates due to the injury he suffered during the training camp with the Spanish national team for the World Cup in Qatar. The slight sprain, as Gayà himself commented through his social networks, made Luis Enrique stop counting on him to face the World Cup.
Faced with that change of plans and the player's disappointment, Gennaro Gattuso granted him a few days off to switch off. Gayà joined his Valencia teammates four days after they started working after the vacations. Despite having special permission to return a few days later, the 'che' captain has been the first to arrive at Paterna where he is already training under the orders of his coach, Gennaro Gattuso.
The Qatar national team has been eliminated from the 2022 World Cup after failing to win a single match in the group stage. This marks the worst performance by a host nation in the history of the World Cup. Qatar had high expectations for the tournament, but the team was unable to live up to them. The Qatari team was outclassed by its opponents and failed to score more than one goal in the entire tournament.
The families of the players on the Iranian national soccer team have been threatened with imprisonment and torture if the players do not "behave well" in their match against the United States today. The players have also been warned that their families will face violence and torture if they do not sing the national anthem or participate in any political protests against the regime in Tehran. Iranian coach Carlos Queiroz has met with Revolutionary Guards officers following the threats, but it is unclear what was discussed. The match is crucial for both teams, as the winner will advance to the knockout stage of the World Cup.
The Spanish national team is set to play Japan in their third group-stage match of the Qatar 2022 World Cup. However, two of their first-choice players, Gavi and Rodri, are absent from training due to injuries. Coach Luis Enrique is hopeful that both players will be available for the match but is taking precautions in case they are not. The team is close to qualifying for the next round, but a loss to Japan could mean they are eliminated if Germany wins their match against Costa Rica.
Marcus Rashford's goal celebration against Wales was dedicated to a friend who died of cancer recently. Rashford revealed that his friend had been battling cancer for a long time, and that he was glad to have scored for him. The England forward also said that he believes the team has what it takes to win the World Cup. Rashford has been in great form for both club and country recently, and his return to the England squad has been a remarkable one. The striker will be hoping to continue his good form as England prepare for their next game against Senegal.
Captain Gareth Bale has announced that he will continue playing for Wales "as long as I'm wanted." This comes after Wales' elimination from the World Cup, which they lost 3-0 to England.
Bale has been praised for his dedication to his country, despite speculation that he may retire from football after this World Cup. He has expressed his disappointment at not being able to help Wales progress further in the tournament but is hopeful for the future.
It remains to be seen if Bale will continue to be involved with the national team after this World Cup, but he has said that he hopes to be involved in the qualifying campaign for the European Championship.
Cody Gakpo has been impressing at the World Cup in Qatar, scoring in all three of the Netherlands' group-stage games. His performances have caught the eye of many, including former England midfielder Joe Cole, who believes clubs should be prepared to pay £80 million for the 23-year-old. Gakpo is currently with PSV in the Eredivisie but has been linked with a move to Manchester United in the past. Cole praised Gakpo for his goalscoring ability, saying that he is a "top player" who works hard and has a bright future ahead of him.
The Iranian government has threatened the national team's players with imprisonment and torture if they protest the regime during the Qatar 2022 World Cup. The players sang the national anthem before their match against the United States, with some appearing to do so reluctantly. Dozens of IRGC officers have been recruited to monitor the team.
In the wake of Neco Williams' head injury at the World Cup, Alan Shearer has called for the immediate introduction of temporary concussion substitutions. Shearer believes that this would allow for players to be taken off the pitch and assessed for concussion without putting them under pressure to make a decision. Headway has criticised the handling of the incident, and Shearer has called on the IFAB to enact prompt change.
This Thursday, an all-female refereeing trio will take charge of a men's World Cup match for the first time in history. Stéphanie Frappart will be joined by assistants Neuza Back and Karen Diaz in overseeing Costa Rica vs. Germany. This is just one of the many milestones Frappart has achieved for women in men's soccer. Out of the 36 official referees at the Qatar 2022 World Cup, only six are women. This match is especially significant as it is between two teams competing for a spot in the round of 16.
USMNT hero Christian Pulisic has given fans a major boost ahead of their World Cup last 16 clash against the Netherlands. The team announced on social media that Pulisic was diagnosed with a pelvic contusion and his playing status is day-to-day. Pulisic is a key player for the US, having scored the game-winning goal in extra time of last summer’s Nations League final against Mexico, as well as the decisive goal in their final group game vs. Iran to secure progression to the round of 16. However, he was substituted at halftime after suffering an abdominal injury. There is no update on his fitness at this time, but manager Gregg Berhalter is hopeful that he will be available to play against the Netherlands.
On Wednesday, November 30, the final matches of Group C and Group D will be played at the Qatar World Cup. France has already qualified from Group D and will be looking to secure first place against Tunisia. Denmark must beat Australia to join Les Bleus. In Group C, Poland is currently leading the standings, although the match against Messi's Argentina does not favor them at all. A draw would be enough for Lewandowski's team to qualify and a win would give them first place. Ecuador was eliminated after a 1-2 loss to Senegal.
Christian Pulisic scored the United States men's national team's first goal of the match in the 38th minute but had to leave the field of play for several minutes after colliding with Iran's goaltender. He was able to return and finish out the half but was replaced at halftime. Netherlands topped Group A after two wins and a draw in their three matches. Senegal edged out Ecuador 2-1 to progress as runners-up. Qatar was the first team knocked out of the World Cup and lost all three of their matches, scoring only one goal. The Netherlands will play the United States in the Round of 16. France needs only a win or a tie against Tunisia to clinch the top spot in the group. If Tunisia manages to upset France, it can qualify, but only if Denmark beats or ties with Australia. Tunisia would need to win the tiebreaker with Denmark in both scenarios. Australia and Denmark will also face off in their final group-stage match.
Iran's coach Carlos Queiroz said that his team deserved to "draw" against the United States, but that "the dream is over" after losing 1-0 in the third and final match of group B. Queiroz praised his players for their character, courage, and dedication, but lamented their missed chances in the game. He also said that while he thinks Colombia deserved to be at the World Cup, the qualifying process was "crazy" due to the pandemic.
The Netherlands defeated Qatar 2-0 in the World Cup to finish first in their group and advance to the Round of 16. PSV Eindhoven winger Gakpo scored the opening goal in all three of the Netherlands' group games. Netherlands head coach Louis van Gaal took issue with criticism of his side's World Cup performances, saying they are progressing to the next round and that fans should be proud. Van Gaal also praised Cody Gakpo, saying he has the potential to become a star.
Welsh striker Gareth Bale has ruled out ending his international career with Wales after their early elimination from the World Cup in Qatar. Bale stated that he will continue to play for Wales as long as they want him and he is able to and hopes to be included in their upcoming qualifiers for the European Championship. Despite their disappointing performance at the World Cup, Bale expressed pride at having qualified for the event 64 years after their last appearance.
Mexico must beat Saudi Arabia by a three-goal margin in order to qualify for the round of 16 of the World Cup. This is the first time the two teams will face each in a World Cup. Mexico has the upper hand, having won four of the five meetings and only one draw. The match will be played at the Lusail Stadium on Wednesday at 20:00 Spanish time. Argentina already knows what it is like to succumb to the speed of the Saudi forward line and is more than warned. If Mexico loses, it will be the country with the most matches lost in World Cups.
The Netherlands defeats Qatar 2-0, clinching first place in Group A and a spot in the round of 16. Senegal beats Ecuador 2-1, qualifying as second in Group A. Koulibaly's goal in the 70th minute proves to be the game-winner for Senegal. With the win, Senegal advances to the round of 16 where they will face the Netherlands. Qatar finishes the group stage with zero points, becoming the first host nation in World Cup history to do so.
England is set to play Wales in their final group game of the World Cup. Phil Foden, Jordan Henderson, Marcus Rashford, and Kyle Walker are all expected to start. A win or draw would be enough to send England into the knockout stage as group winners. However, a loss could put them in a difficult position, potentially facing the Netherlands in the last 16.
Brooks has not played since September 29, 2021 after being diagnosed with stage two Hodgkin lymphoma the following month. The Welsh international missed out on World Cup selection but has now joined Robert Page's squad in Qatar as they prepared for their final group game on Tuesday night.
Football Association of Wales chief medical officer Jonathan Houghton wrote on his Instagram account that seeing Brooks fit and smiling made his day. He added that it's been a long road back from Hodgkin's lymphoma but that everyone is looking forward to seeing Brooks back in a Wales shirt again.
Brooks' return to action before the Premier League took a break for the World Cup was delayed by a hamstring problem. He signed a new four-year Bournemouth deal in August and Wales manager Page said training footage of Brooks released by the Cherries had left him "quite emotional".
-L'Equipe reports that Kevin De Bruyne, Jan Vertonghen, and Eden Hazard clashed in the dressing room after Belgium's defeat to Morocco. -According to RTL, the fight was between De Bruyne, Hazard, and Vertonghen, with Lukaku required to break them up. -Hazard spoke out about the issue during the pre-match press conference, saying that the players had talked for an hour about good and bad things. -In comments ahead of the tournament, De Bruyne said that Belgium could not win the World Cup because they are "too old." -Vertonghen responded sarcastically to De Bruyne's comments, saying that they are too old to attack well.
In the 54th minute of the Portugal-Uruguay game at the Qatar World Cup, midfielder Bruno Fernandes crossed the ball into the net, giving Portugal the lead. There was confusion over whether Cristiano Ronaldo, who was celebrating jubilantly, had made the slightest of touches with his head on the ball, but FIFA later awarded the goal to Fernandes. This is according to Adidas technology inside the match ball, which showed no contact on the ball from Ronaldo.
In an interview, legendary AC Milan full-back Cafu comes to the defence of Liverpool's right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold, who has been overlooked by England manager Gareth Southgate. Cafu compares the unjustified criticism around Alexander-Arnold's defending to the treatment he and fellow Brazilian full-back Roberto Carlos weathered during their careers, despite their indisputable success. Southgate has said that Alexander-Arnold "definitely could do it against a team that sits back," but he has also praised Kieran Trippier's quality. Cafu believes that full-backs have become too robotic these days and that Alexander-Arnold has the potential to win the Ballon d'Or one day.
Phil Foden is a Manchester City midfielder who has played just 19 minutes of football in Qatar across England's opening two games. He came off the bench in the opening 6-2 thrashing of Iran but was an unused substitute in Friday's goalless draw with the USA. He could come into the side that faces Wales tonight (Tuesday), with Southgate tipped to make changes - but the England boss has warned against expecting too much from Foden at this stage of his career.
"We have to be careful because we are putting a lot of pressure on him now," he said. "We're a team and we need all of the players and they can all play a part but not any one of them is the reason we will win or lose. And we need to make sure we are not building Phil into a situation where actually if he steps on the pitch this is becoming really difficult for him because the level of expectation is beyond a young guy who is still establishing himself."
Foden is a talented player who is expected to play a big part in the tournament, but Southgate is cautioning against putting too much pressure on him.
After two poor performances at the World Cup, Darwin Nunez has been criticized by pundits and former players. Uruguay now needs to win their final group game to have a chance at progressing to the next round. Nunez has struggled with confidence and ball control, and has been a disappointment for Uruguay so far.
Adidas has revealed that Cristiano Ronaldo did not touch the ball in Portugal's much disputed first goal against Uruguay. The goal was initially credited to Ronaldo, but after replays showed no evidence of a touch from the striker, the goal was instead awarded to his former Manchester United teammate Bruno Fernandes. Fernandes went on to convert a penalty to secure Portugal's 2-0 win and safe passage into the last 16. Ronaldo has remained adamant that the goal should have been his and even text Piers Morgan to tell him so. However, FIFA's latest World Cup ball allows real-time data to be fed to match officials, helping with offside decisions and goal calls, and the data showed no contact on the ball from Ronaldo.
Al-Thawadi said that between 400 and 500 migrant workers have died as a result of work done on projects connected to the tournament – a greater figure than Qatari officials have cited previously. He added that the number of deaths is something that is being discussed, and that one death is too many. Al-Thawadi also said that every year the health and safety standards on the sites are improving, and that the World Cup served as a vehicle to accelerate these improvements.
The final matchday of the World Cup group stage will feature a crucial game between Senegal and Ecuador, with both teams needing a win to guarantee their place in the knockout stage. Meanwhile, the Netherlands can progress with a win or a draw against Qatar, who have already been eliminated from the tournament.
If Ecuador and the Netherlands both win, then the margin of victory and number of goals scored will determine who tops the group. If they both win by the same score on Tuesday, they will end up with identical records, and who finishes first will be determined by their disciplinary records. The Netherlands’ is currently better, with one yellow card to Ecuador’s three.
Should Senegal beat Ecuador, the Dutch must draw or win, and a loss to Qatar by more than Senegal beat Ecuador would mean a Dutch exit. The most likely scenario, however, is that the Dutch handle Qatar, leaving them as winners of Group A, while either Senegal or Ecuador make it through in second place.
The match will be televised on ITV, while the game can also be streamed on ITVX and the ITVX app. Coverage begins at 2pm.
The final rounds of the Group Stage of the World Cup begin today in Qatar, and one of the most important matches is the Iran-United States. The match is important because it will decide which team will manage to enter the Round of 16. The US team has been accused of breaching FIFA rules by posting a distorted image of the flag of the Islamic Republic of Iran. The Iranian team has responded by asking for the US team to be disqualified. There is a large number of Iranian security officers in Qatar collecting information and monitoring players.
In a 2-0 victory over Uruguay that secured their place in the World Cup knockout phase, Portugal's Bruno Fernandes scored both goals. The first goal was initially awarded to Cristiano Ronaldo, but FIFA ruled the forward had not touched the ball. The second was a penalty awarded by VAR.
After Argentina's win over Mexico, images of the Albiceleste locker room show Messi kicking a Mexico jersey on the ground. This gesture has caused outrage among Mexicans, with boxing champion Canelo Alvarez issuing a warning to Messi. Alvarez accused Messi of disrespecting Mexico's flag and called on God to prevent the two from ever meeting. Messi's actions have been interpreted as an insult by many, including Alvarez. Argentina faces its last Group C match against Poland knowing that a win would take it to the round of 16.
The families of the Iranian soccer team's players have been threatened with arrest and torture if the players do not behave before their match against the United States today. This follows the players' refusal to sing the national anthem before their opening match against England. CNN reports that the players were summoned to a meeting with members of Iran's Revolutionary Guards Corps, where they were told that their families would face violence and torture if they did not sing the anthem or join any political protest against the regime in Tehran.
PSV striker Myron Boadu has been in impressive form for PSV over the last couple of years, making him a target for a host of Premier League clubs.
In an interview, Boadu said that he is focused on the World Cup and not on rumors about his future.

Boadu himself said that he knows he can improve in many areas and is not near his highest level yet.
The Netherlands face Qatar on Tuesday in a must-win match for both teams.
In the Qatar 2022 World Cup, Brazil defeated Switzerland 1-0 in the second match of the day in Group G. Casemiro's goal in the 83rd minute decided the match. The Greenoros climb to 6 in the standings and are already mathematically qualified for the round of 16. Behind them are the Swiss with 3 points, then Serbia and Cameroon at 1.
This is a perfect World Cup so far for Tite's Brazil, also beating Switzerland and mortgaging passage to the round of 16. After the convincing debut against Serbia, the victory comes also against the Swiss formation, a goal by Casemiro decides. The Brazilian formation is always in control of the match, in fact, Alisson does not concede any shot, and the defense seems really impenetrable.
If Brazil already celebrates qualification, sparks are expected from Serbia and Switzerland, who will face each other on the final day. The Swiss, currently second at three, will only need a draw, while Tadic and his teammates, third at 1, will necessarily need to win. All of this, of course, without forgetting Cameroon, whose task, on paper, however, looks very difficult: Song's lineup, in order to break through to the round of 16, must beat Brazil on the next day and hope that Switzerland does not win against Serbia.
The victory against Switzerland propels Tite's lineup into history; it is match number 17 in the group stage of a World Cup without losing: no one has done better. Casemiro's goal thus made it possible to set another record, for a group that has a clear goal: to return to lift that cup to the sky 20 years later.
Police in Tenerife are preparing for a possible outbreak of violence during the England-Wales World Cup game on Tuesday, November 29. This follows video footage of a brawl involving people wearing England and Wales shirts that took place outside bars on the largest of Spain's Canary Islands last Friday. UK police fear that fans who were prevented from traveling to Qatar for the World Cup may have been involved in the Tenerife incident, but this has yet to be confirmed. More than 1,300 people subject to football banning orders have had their UK passports confiscated in an effort to prevent violent and abusive fans from traveling to Qatar. Chief constable Mark Roberts, the UK's football policing lead, has said that the Spanish police are likely used to dealing with drunken British holidaymakers and that the Tenerife incident is not out of the ordinary.
England and Wales will face off in the World Cup on Tuesday night, with England looking to secure their place in the knockout stages with a win. Wales, on the other hand, must win and hope for other results to go their way in order to advance.
The two countries have a competitive rivalry, and while Wales may be more fired up for the match, England are the favourites to win.
Joe Allen has defended Gareth Bale and Aaron Ramsey amid criticism that Wales’ star pair have failed to deliver at the World Cup. Wales have reached the first World Cup for 64 years on the back of qualification for two European Championships, the first of which, Euro 2016, saw them exceed all expectations by reaching the semi-finals. But Bale, 33, and Ramsey, 31, have struggled to make an impact at Qatar 2022 and Wales is on the brink of a swift World Cup exit.
Speaking ahead of the game against England, Allen said: ''they're two incredible, incredible players and have been for our country. I don't think there's anyone in the squad who has reached the heights that they're capable of.
“It’s a huge game coming up, they’re big-game players and always have been. We're fully motivated, fully incentivised into throwing absolutely everything into getting the win. Then, who knows? Hopefully, there’s a chance we can still get us out of this group.”
Wales are clinging on to slim hopes of making the last 16 after picking up only one point from games against the USA and Iran. Friday’s 2-0 defeat to the latter has left them needing to beat England, something they have not done for 38 years, and hope for a favourable result when Iran take on the USA. Any other result than a draw in that game would lead to Wales’s elimination, unless they were to beat England by a four-goal margin.
Swansea midfielder Allen returned from two months out with a hamstring injury to come on as a substitute against Iran and win his 73rd cap. He said: “I’ve mixed feelings in terms of the pride of playing for my country in a World Cup, but a very disappointing performance and result. I’m good to go [against England].
In the second match of Group F of the World Cup in Qatar, Belgium lost to Morocco 2-0. The lackluster performance provided in the winning opener against Canada proved to be a warning for the Red Devils. Roberto Martinez's team was lackluster and too predictable in the face of a more resourceful and well-positioned Morocco. The lead goal came from a free kick taken by Sampdoria midfielder Abdelhamid Sabiri with the complicity of goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois. The double came in the salvage thanks to Zakaria Aboukhal's goal, which closed the score with a conclusion under the crossbar. Morocco jumps to the leader of Group F with 4 points, while Belgium stopped at 3. In the next round, Belgium will take on Croatia, in an inside or outside match.
After losing to Saudi Arabia in their opening match, Argentina had to quickly redeem themselves against Mexico. Argentine superstar Lionel Messi stepped up and delivered, scoring the only goal of the match to give Argentina a much-needed win. With this goal, Messi equaled Diego Maradona's record for goals scored in the group stage of the World Cup.
While some may say that it was Maradona himself who guided Messi to score the goal, the fact remains that Messi is a world-class talent in his own right. He has now led Argentina to the brink of qualifying for the round of 16, and with a little more luck, they could go all the way.
In response to former teammate Kevin De Bruyne's claim that Belgium has no chance of winning the 2022 FIFA World Cup, Pablo Zabaleta has slammed De Bruyne, saying that his comments will affect the mentality of the Belgian squad. Zabaleta points out that Croatia and Uruguay are not complaining about their aging squads, and that if the Belgians continue to complain, it will be very difficult for them to win the World Cup.
Croatia beats Canada 4-1 in a comeback to take first place in Group F, while Canada is mathematically eliminated from the World Cup. Canada got off to a strong start, with Alphonso Davies scoring the team's first goal in World Cup history. But Croatia took control of the midfield and scored three goals to seal the victory. Canada can take solace in the fact that they put up a good fight against a strong team.
Cameroon goalkeeper André Onana has been sidelined from his national team after coach Rigobert Song urged him to change his style of play on Saturday. Onana refused to change his style of play and has therefore left the African team's training camp.
Onana had been Cameroon's starting goalkeeper in the first match against Switzerland, which ended in a narrow defeat (1-0). Song told him that he wanted him to change his way of playing and start playing with fewer risks and more direct balls, something that was not taken in a good way by Onana.
As a result, the coach's decision was to remove him from the squad and he was not even on the bench against Serbia. Onana was trained in Barcelona's youth system but was transferred to Ajax, where he made his debut in the first team and remained for several years.
Onana has a very particular style of play, acquired by two schools such as Barcelona and Ajax, with a lot of footwork and a well-advanced positioning, which according to European media reports did not like Song.
In the match between Cameroon and Serbia, both teams showed great offensive power, with six goals scored in total. For Cameroon, Castelletto unblocked the result in the first half, but Serbia quickly answered with two goals of their own. Aboubakar entered the game in the second half and changed the scene, creating two goals to bring Cameroon back to a 3-3 draw.
Canelo Alvarez has accused Lionel Messi of insulting Mexico after Argentina's 2-0 win at the World Cup. Aguero has defended Messi, saying he was only taking his boots off. Videos of the incident have gone viral, with many people arguing over whether or not Messi was being disrespectful. Canelo has threatened to find Messi if he continues to disrespect Mexico.
Cameroonian soccer player Vincent Aboubakar scored an impressive goal during a World Cup match against Serbia, with the help of VAR.
The goal helped Cameroon come back from a 3-1 deficit to tie the game at 3-3.
Aboubakar's goalscoring performance was all the more impressive because Cameroon had been averaging just 0.8 goals per game at the World Cup prior to this match.
The game was noteworthy also because it was the first World Cup match in which VAR was used to overturn a goal.
Finally, the game was notable because it was a comeback victory for Cameroon, who had been on an eight-game losing streak in World Cup matches dating back to 2002.
The Iranian regime is calling for the disqualification of the United States soccer team from the World Cup, after the team posted a distorted image of the Iranian flag on its official account. The Iranian news agency Tasnim has claimed that the U.S. deserves to be expelled from the tournament and suspended for 10 matches, due to this "intentional" act.
The match between the U.S. and Iran is scheduled for tomorrow at 8 p.m. and will be decisive for the fate of Group B. Tensions are extremely high and there is anticipation to see if there will be an answer on the matter from FIFA.
Iran in its challenge to British soccer touched emotional extremes on both sides, first losing 6-2 to England and then turning a possible goalless draw against Wales into a 2-0 victory with goals from Cheshmi in 96′ and Rezaian in 101′.
The United States, on the other hand, repeated the draw that came in the opener against Wales and also drew with a clean sheet against England on Friday night. Gregg Berhalter's States played a really good match, putting the European vice-champions in trouble and creating several scoring chances in the first half (including the crossbar hit by Pulisic).
With this result, qualification still remains possible for the United States, but now a win will be obligatorily needed. Iran, on the other hand, needs a win to reach the round of 16, but there is a need for more concreteness in the offensive phase because in the last four games the Yanks have scored only once.
The United States men's national soccer team will play Iran in the final match of the World Cup group stage on Tuesday, with the winner advancing to the knockout round. The game is surrounded by political tension, with protests ongoing in Iran after the death of 22-year-old Mahsa Amini. The US Soccer Federation attempted to show support for women in Iran by not using the flag of the Islamic Republic of Iran on social media posts, but this was not well-received by the Iranians. Iran will qualify for the knockout round with a win or a draw, while the US must win in order to advance. Alireza Jahanbakhsh is suspended for Iran, while Sardar Azmoun is a doubt due to injury. Goalkeeper Alireza Beiranvand is available again after missing the previous game due to concussion protocol.
Former Brazilian footballer Cafu has stated that the Brazilian team is stronger than it was in 2018, with a more experienced roster. He also said that Neymar, who is injured, will be missed but that the team cannot depend on him. Cafu ended by saying that he hopes the group will come out strong and that everyone will take responsibility.
Virgil van Dijk was criticized by Marco van Basten for his performance in the Netherlands’ 1-1 draw with Ecuador.
Van Dijk has responded to Van Basten’s words, explaining that he saw them as “an attack on me as a person.”
The Netherlands are top of Group A and are on the verge of qualifying for the last 16 as they prepare to face Qatar.
If the Netherlands lose to Qatar on Tuesday, they could still miss out on the last 16 if Senegal picks up a point or better in their match.
Van Dijk added that he feels very comfortable in his role as “the lock on the door” for the Netherlands.
Joan Laporta, president of Barcelona, has taken advantage of the good performance of the Spanish national team in the World Cup in Qatar to take advantage of it and claim that much of the merit belongs to Barcelona and also to its coach, Xavi Hernandez.
In addition, the culé president has pointed to Spain as one of the main favorites for the title along with Brazil and France.
"I think the Spanish national team is fantastic. It is a source of pride for FC Barcelona to see how our players are playing, how the national team is playing, how Luis Enrique is making them play, and how Luis Enrique is taking on all the pressure to unload the players...
They are very talented players who are making the world fall in love with them and it so happens that most of them are from Barça. It is a pride to see the talent of these players and how they play as a team.
"Spain is one of the favorites to win the World Cup, but we must also keep in mind as favorites other teams like Brazil or France," he explained to the media present at the golf tournament organized by the Fundació Enric Masip that is being played this Monday at the Club de Golf Sant Cugat (Barcelona) and that will allocate its proceeds to fight against endocrine and neuroendocrine tumors.
Gareth Southgate has hinted that Phil Foden could start in England's final World Cup Group B match against Wales. Foden has played just 19 minutes of football in Qatar across England's opening two games. Southgate was criticized for not utilizing the 22-year-old as his side struggled to create chances at the Al Bayt Stadium. Foden has a "big part" to play in England's World Cup campaign despite limited game time, according to manager Gareth Southgate. Southgate is ready to unleash Foden in England's final group match against Wales.
FIFA has opened an investigation into the German national team for violating press conference rules before their match against Spain. According to FIFA rules, all teams must present a player to the media the day before the match, but no German player was present at the press conference.
The opening of the investigation is due to the possible infraction related to the mandatory press conference held on Sunday, on the eve of the match against Spain, which was attended only by coach Hansi Flick.
This is the latest incident in the ongoing quarrel between Germany and FIFA. The tug-of-war began well before the World Cup began, and shows no sign of abating.
The investigation into the German team's violation of press conference rules is just the latest example of the harsh face-off between Germany and FIFA. Some sources close to the German Football Association (DFB) have revealed that the DFB had formally requested FIFA to allow the press conference to be held near the team's retreat or in a hotel that housed the press, but FIFA refused.
The next press conference is already imminent, and Coach Flick is expected to attend. It is not yet clear if he will be alone or if he will be accompanied by a player.
Canelo Alvarez has accused Lionel Messi of disrespecting Mexico’s flag at the Qatar World Cup and has threatened the Argentine footballer as a result. Canelo is angry at a video that appears to show Messi kicking a Mexico shirt on the floor during Argentina’s post-match celebrations. Many fans believe that the action was not intentional, but Canelo is still angry that the shirt was on the floor in the first place. Canelo is a multiple-weight world champion boxer, with an unbeaten record of 58 wins and 2 losses.
England defender Ben White has missed training through illness and is a doubt for the crucial World Cup clash with Wales. If he doesn't recover in time, Jordan Henderson is set to replace him in the starting line-up. England needs to avoid a defeat with a margin of more than four goals to progress to the knockout stages, and Gareth Southgate's side will be looking to do their talking on the pitch. There is added motivation for the Three Lions as a video has emerged of Wales players celebrating England's shock exit from Euro 2016 at the hands of Iceland.
Australia will take on Denmark in a Group D match at the 2022 FIFA World Cup on Wednesday, November 30. This will be a winner-takes-all encounter, with the winner advancing to the knockout rounds and the loser being eliminated. Australia is currently in second place in the group with three points, while Denmark is in third place with one point. A win for Australia would send them through to the next round, while a win for Denmark is necessary but not sufficient - they would also need to have a better goal difference than Tunisia. This match is expected to be closely contested.
Gary Lineker has denied claims from Qatar World Cup chief Hassan Al-Thawadi that he failed to “engage” with the host country before the start of the tournament.
Al-Thawadi criticized Lineker and the BBC for their coverage of the World Cup, which he claims has not presented a “balanced view” of Qatar.
Al-Thawadi claimed that Lineker did not respond to invitations from organizers when they requested the opportunity to address concerns about the tournament before it began.
Al-Thawadi told TalkSport that he was disappointed that he was not given the chance to discuss what he said were “misconceptions and stereotypes” around Qatar.

Brazil and Switzerland face off in a Monday 2022 FIFA World Cup Group G match. Brazil is the favorite to win the tournament, but they will be without Neymar, who injured his ankle in the opening match against Serbia. Switzerland defeated Cameroon 1-0 in their opener and is in good shape no matter the result against Brazil.
Brazil forward Neymar stayed at the team’s hotel, treating a right ankle injury sustained in the opener against Serbia. Team doctors have not yet given a timetable for his return. In his absence, former Watford striker Richarlison took centre stage in Brazil’s attack but couldn’t find a way to score and was substituted for Gabriel Jesus in the 74th minute.
Vinicius thought he had given his side a lead with a cultured finish after skipping away from defender Nico Elvedi and drawing Sommer, but his effort was ruled out for offside against Richarlison earlier in the move following a VAR review.
But he scuffed the volley, allowing Sommer to save. There was a brief commotion on 65 minutes when Vinicius Jnr did have the ball in the net, courtesy of a trademark sweeping move, but Richarlison had contributed from an offside position and so VAR intervened.
Casemiro scored the winning goal for Brazil in the 83rd minute with a rocket shot from the left side of the box to the top right corner. Brazil looked likely to score a second, but a counterattack from the Swiss and a missed opportunity by Vinicius Jr. kept the score at 1-0.
The Spanish national team drew against Germany in a great match. Spain came to this second match with the motivation high after the seven goals they scored against Costa Rica in the debut. The opponent was one of the greats and the Germans showed that they are very much alive in this World Cup in Qatar. Morata came on in the second half and scored the team's only goal. The Atlético de Madrid striker analyzed the match right after the match.

Brazil is one of the favorite teams to win the Qatar 2022 World Cup, and is coming off a 2-0 win against Serbia in their opening match. Switzerland also won their opening match, 1-0 against Cameroon.

Dozens of people caused riots in the center of Brussels and other Belgian and Dutch cities on Sunday after Belgium's defeat by Morocco in the World Cup, causing damage to vehicles and street furniture and forcing the police to intervene. The mayor of Brussels, Philip Close, has condemned the incidents and advised fans not to travel to the center of the city. The police have used tear gas and water cannons to disperse the crowd.
Croatia managed to come from behind to top their group with 4 points. Luka Modric had to roll up his sleeves and put all his work and talent to turn around a score that went against them very quickly.
The Croatian team managed to recover and warned with a shot from Andrej Kramaric that went into the back of the net, before being disallowed for offside, and Marko Livaja added a little more firepower in an action that forced goalkeeper Milan Borjan into action.
Canada came out of the dugout at full speed. It was a carbon copy of the first half. After three minutes, a shot by Osorio came close to bringing the score back to level terms. But that was as good as it got and Croatia gained ground with experience and quality.
Croatia detected the doubts in the eyes of the Canadians and went for the comeback. The runners-up were reluctant to go home early. In one of the onslaughts, Livaja's hard shot from outside the box led to the Balkan team's second and sealed the comeback before going to the locker room.

The match between Spain and Germany was intense, with both teams having chances to score. Spain dominated possession but Germany were dangerous on the counter-attack. The match ended 1-1, with both teams having a chance to win in the second half. The draw means that Spain is still in the running to qualify for the round of 16, but they will need to beat Japan in their final match. Germany, Costa Rica and Japan are all still in contention to qualify from Group E, with the final matchday of the group stage to be played next week.

Rashford believes that England has what it takes to win the World Cup. He cites the team's cohesiveness and training standards as reasons why they will be successful.
Jordan Pickford believes the rivalry between England and Wales is the kind that makes football "great." The neighbouring nations clash at the World Cup in the final round of Group B matches on Tuesday, with England all-but through and Wales almost certainly heading home. There is likely to be more of an atmosphere inside Ahmed bin Ali Stadium than at the majority of World Cup matches so far and Pickford is looking forward to something akin to a derby day. "That (special rivalry) it is, it's football, it's great," the goalkeeper said. "They're another good side, they'll be disappointed, they've got one point so they'll be pushing towards Tuesday, but so are we." The mood, externally at least, shifted for England after they were held to a goalless stalemate by the USA on Friday. Pickford believes the expectation levels may have risen too steeply after that eye-catching opener, insisting there are no easy games at a World Cup.
After Argentina's resounding defeat to Saudi Arabia in their World Cup opener, they recovered against Mexico with a 2-0 victory. In the aftermath of the match, video footage surfaced of Messi stepping on the Mexican flag during celebrations in the locker room. This sparked outrage from Mexican boxer Canelo Alvarez, who took to social media to voice his displeasure. The incident has divided the public, with some people siding with Alvarez and others defending Messi. At this point, it is unclear how Messi will respond to the situation.
A broadcaster in China has been accused on censoring footage of matches at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
China’s state broadcaster is censoring images of maskless fans at the Qatar World Cup today amid the country’s Covid lockdown rage.
During the live broadcast of the Japan and Costa Rica game, CCTV Sports replaced close-up shots of maskless fans waving flags with images of players, officials or the football stadium, The Sun reports.
BBC News are reporting the same thing. An update on their live blog related to Covid protests in China reads: “Last week we reported how scenes of maskless fans enjoying the World Cup had stirred anger among some Chinese citizens who then questioned the need for zero-Covid restrictions.
The protests ignited on Friday after a lethal blaze broke out in a residential building in Urumqi, the regional capital of the Xinjiang region.
In the lead up to their World Cup match on Monday, Switzerland's Granit Xhaka has jokingly warned he will 'smash' any Brazilian Arsenal teammates that come up against him. Xhaka made the comments in good fun, but with a serious undertone, as he knows that a win for either team could send them top of the group. Brazil are the favorites going into the match, but Switzerland will be looking to repeat their performance from the last World Cup where they held Brazil to a draw.
Hansi Flick was satisfied with the 1-1 draw against Spain in the second matchday of Group E at the Qatar 2022 World Cup. Flick remarked that his team has shown what it can "do" and explained that he appreciates Luis Enrique "very much". The German coach described the match against Costa Rica as a final and appealed that his team knows what they have to do to qualify for the round of 16. Spain is a great team with a mix of youngsters and veterans and they have a great style of play, according to Flick. Although he was satisfied with the result, Flick believes that his team could have won the match with Leroy.
On Monday, November 28, the second day of matches will be played in the Qatar 2022 World Cup. The teams playing today are Cameroon, Serbia, Brazil, Switzerland, South Korea, Ghana, Portugal, and Uruguay. The highlight of the day is the match between Portugal and Uruguay, which will be broadcast live on the Gol Mundial pay-per-view channel. South Korea and Ghana will also be playing today at 14:00 (peninsular time) and their match will be broadcast on the Gol Mundial pay channel. All matches of the World Cup can be followed on MARCA.com and the website will also provide daily live broadcasts of all matches.
Luis Enrique is satisfied with Spain's performance against Germany, despite the 1-1 draw. He praised the team's attitude and said that anyone in the "group of death" would have signed up for a similar position. Enrique was critical of Spain's finish to the match, saying they lacked composure and calmness. He praised all of his players for their effort and said he will be satisfied when he sees the game again. Enrique warned that Spain will not "speculate" with the draw against Japan and said the goal is to win the match.
Spain is in a good position to qualify for the round of 16 at the Qatar World Cup, leading Group E with four points. They will face Japan and Germany in their final two matches, and need Germany to lose to Costa Rica by a large margin in order for Spain to be eliminated.
If Spain finishes first in their group, they will play the second-placed team in Group F in the round of 16. If they finish second, they will play the first-placed team in Group F. Either way, their quarterfinal opponent will be the winner of the match between the first of Group G and the second of Group H.
In Group F, Croatia and Morocco are in first place with four points, followed by Belgium with three points. Canada has been eliminated. The big match on the last day will be Croatia - Belgium, with the winner advancing to the round of 16.
Spain will not mathematically qualify for the next round tonight even if they beat Germany, due to Costa Rica's 1-0 win over Japan.
However, a point against Japan on the last matchday would be enough for Spain to qualify, as long as Germany does not win by a difference of 7 goals or more against Costa Rica.
Respect for Germany is high in the Spanish dressing room, but the desire to send them home much earlier than expected is even greater.
Luis Enrique will make some changes to the starting lineup from the last match against Costa Rica.
The match can be followed on La 1 and RTVE Play, with the Gol Mundial mobile application and through the Gol Mundial enabled channels, available on Movistar+ and LaLiga TV.
In their second group stage match at the FIFA World Cup 2022, Argentine forward Lionel Messi helped his team register an emphatic win against Mexico. Messi scored the first goal of the match to provide Argentina with a crucial lead. Argentina eventually won the match 2-0 courtesy of another goal from Enzo Fernandez, who netted one in the 87th minute.
This was a must-win game for Argentina, as a defeat would have knocked them out of the tournament. Messi's family was in attendance to watch the game, and they were seen getting emotional after he scored the first goal.
After the match, Messi gave a brilliant post-match interview, saying that the days since their loss to Saudi Arabia felt very long. He also praised the performance of Manchester United defender Lisandro Martinez.
Argentina's next game is against Poland, which they need to win in order to guarantee their passage to the knockout stage of the World Cup.
Mexico was defeated by Argentina in their World Cup match yesterday. Newspapers are divided in their evaluation of the performance of Hirving Lozano, with some giving him high marks and others not. Lozano himself spoke after the match, saying that they will do everything they can to pass the round despite the slim chances. Mexico must win their next match against Saudi Arabia and hope for Argentina to lose in order to have a chance of passing the group stage. The chances of passing the round are minimal, but Mexico will continue to fight for it.
In the 64th minute of the World Cup match between Argentina and Mexico, Lionel Messi scored a goal, leading Argentina to victory. This caused great excitement among commentators, with one in particular, Stefano Bizzotto's technical sidekick Daniele Adani, going absolutely crazy. Adani started praising Messi and Argentina, speaking passionately about the country and the city of Rosario. This led to some criticism on Twitter, with people accusing Adani of being biased and unprofessional. However, others defended him, saying that he was just expressing his excitement and that he is a popular commentator for a reason.

The win secures France's place in the round of 16, while Denmark will need to win their next match against Australia to have a chance at qualifying.
England manager Gareth Southgate has come under fire from former Liverpool player and manager Graeme Souness for his decision to allow Harry Kane to play on with an ankle injury during their 6-2 win over Iran on Monday.
Souness believes Kane was "selfish" for playing on and risking his fitness ahead of their crucial 0-0 draw against USA yesterday.
Kane was a doubt going into the game against USA but eventually started and played a big part in England's labored performance.
Southgate has a dilemma on his hands as England needs a win against Wales on Tuesday to regain momentum and secure top spot in their group.
If Wales want to progress, they must beat England and hope that the other game between Iran and the US finishes in a draw.

He feels lucky to be playing in such a historic and prestigious club and is eager to continue impressing fans and teammates alike.

Within minutes, Iran had the ball in the net at the other end, Ali Gholizadeh slotting home from Azmoun's pass, only for VAR to intervene and correctly rule the goal out for offside. In fact, the winner of the match would secure it if there is a draw in the other group match, but if the latter does not happen, the Netherlands would go through with their win and that of Senegal, and Ecuador with their win and that of Qatar. The expected eleven for the Netherlands is: Noppert; Timber, Van Dijk, Aké; Dumfries, Berghuis, De Jong, Blind; Klaassen; Bergwijn and Gakpo. For Ecuador, the expected eleven is: Galíndez; Preciado, Torres, Hincapié, Estupiñán; Plata, Méndez, Caicedo, Ibarra; Valencia and Estrada. The match will be played at Khalifa International Stadium.

According to The Times, supporters have been barred from dressing as crusaders at England's World Cup clash with the USA in Qatar. This is due to the fact that such costumes could be offensive to the Muslim population in Qatar. The newspaper quoted Fifa as saying: "Crusader customers in the Arab context can be offensive against Muslims." Anti-discrimination group Kick It Out also advised fans against wearing fancy-dress costumes representing knights or crusaders, which recall the religious wars Christians waged against Muslims during the Middle Ages. A spokeswoman for the group said: "We would advise fans who are attending Fifa World Cup matches that certain attire, such as fancy-dress costumes representing knights or crusaders, may not be welcomed in Qatar and other Islamic countries." A video shared on Twitter showed two fans clad in crusader costumes seemingly being turned away from the entry to a Qatari stadium by security staff. The Football Association of Wales (FAW) said the governing body has confirmed fans will be allowed to enter with the items for the clash with Iran after they confiscated them ahead of Wales' 1-1 draw with the USA. Temperatures could be around 25C when the game kicks off at 10pm local time, 7pm in the UK.

The European Parliament has denounced the corruption of FIFA and the lack of transparency in the awarding of the World Cup to Qatar. They also criticize the human rights situation in Qatar and the death of thousands of workers in the construction sector during the preparations for the tournament. The resolution calls on FIFA to investigate the deaths that occurred during the construction works prior to the World Cup and to commit with Qatar to make reparations to all those affected by labor abuses and accidents, including the families of the fatalities. MEPs also call on major soccer leagues to address the reform of the institution that governs soccer federations in the world.

Finally, the Parliament has urged Qatar to review how it collects data on deaths and injuries during World Cup construction work.
Germany's protest against the ban on wearing the rainbow anti-discrimination armband in Qatar, the World Cup venue, continues to cause debate. The latest to speak out on the matter was Eden Hazard, captain of Belgium, who had his say rather sharply: "I don't feel comfortable talking about it, because I'm here to play soccer. Hazard said, "It would have been better for them if they had not done that and won the game." Belgium was one of seven federations that, in a joint statement on November 21, had announced that they would not allow their captain to wear the rainbow armband with the words 'One Love' on it, in support of LGBTQ+ rights, after Fifa threatened disciplinary sanctions.

In the end, Portugal was able to win the match 3-2, with goals from Joao Felix and Rafael Leao.

For Uruguay, three points against South Korea is a necessity if they are to progress to the knockout rounds. They have a strong squad, led by experienced stars Luis Suarez, Diego Godin, and Edinson Cavani, but will need to find a way to score goals.
For South Korea, their hopes of qualifying for the knockout rounds hinge on the fitness of star player Heung-min Son. If he is fully fit, they believe he can win them a game in a split second. They will also need to stay solid defensively, with Kim Min-jae leading the way.

Javadi added that the players are all under pressure and that the arrest could affect the team's performance in their upcoming match against Wales. Stramaccioni concluded by saying that the arrest is just one example of the many ways in which the players are being pressured both inside and outside of Iran.
Janny Sikazwe is a Zambian referee who is set to officiate at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. Pierluigi Collina, president of the FIFA refereeing commission, was watching the match from the stands and was visibly disturbed by Sikazwe's mistakes. He later said that they were "unforgivable" and that Sikazwe should not have been given the opportunity to officiate at the World Cup.
Sikazwe has been temporarily suspended in the past on suspicion of corruption. It remains to be seen if his mistakes at the World Cup will result in any further disciplinary action.

Wales and Iran will go head to head in a crucial Group B fixture at the Qatar World Cup on Friday. Ronaldo's contract at United was terminated this week, with the Glazer family who owns the Premier League club reportedly furious at the 37-year-old's claims in the interview. ‘It was a week that finished this chapter. It is closed and now I want to start on a good foot. We started, and we won.
‘We are happy to know that we can still count on him,’ Silva said. ‘Not just the goal but he worked a lot for the team. What happens next is his decision. That’s the decision of whoever it is who offers him a contract.
“Yes, I think so. But it depends on what he wants. I don’t know what he wants for his life. He has to speak with his family and decide for himself, right?
‘I support his decision in terms of, it’s his decision. He’s my teammate in Portugal – if he’s happy, we’re happy. He’s been fine with us. He’s been great.’
“I still share the space with him in the national team and the main thing for me is that Portugal does the best we can in the tournament because if we do it, Cristiano will be happy, I will be happy and everyone in Portugal will be happy for us.”

The German football team will not face any disciplinary action from Fifa after taking the "One Love" band protest to a new level, with players covering their mouths during a team photo before the World Cup match with Japan. This latest move marks another day of tension between the seven European nations behind the One Love campaign and Fifa, with the group exploring its legal options on the issue. Article 11 of Fifa's disciplinary code specifies that anyone "using a sporting event for non-sporting events" can be sanctioned, but it is understood that there will be no formal disciplinary action taken against the German team. A tweet from the German federation said that the team was protesting Fifa's silencing of the One Love campaign's values of diversity and mutual respect. There is a risk, however, that the German gesture is isolated, as the Swiss team has indicated that it will not be organizing a similar protest before its opening match against Cameroon.

Foreign Secretary James Cleverly has said that Qatar has taken "real steps" to ensure the safety of gay fans attending the World Cup. However, several LGBT+ supporters have opted not to travel to the tournament in a country where homosexuality is still illegal. Conservative MP Alicia Kearns does not believe that holding the World Cup in Qatar will change anything in the country, citing human rights abuses and the loss of life that have occurred since Qatar won the hosting rights in 2010. Mr Cleverly said that gay rights is an issue he has "brought up over a number of years" with Qatar and that he believes in the universal power of sport to bring people together.

Will Young has delivered a blistering attack on David Beckham for his lucrative deal with Qatar to act as an ambassador during the World Cup. Taking to Instagram, the singer posted a fierce open letter, criticizing the human rights abuse that is ongoing in Qatar, as well as slamming Beckham for his involvement.
Young wrote in his post that Qatar is not the only country in the world with appalling records on human rights and that the argument that sport is not political is duplicitous. He went on to say that Beckham's involvement in the Qatar World Cup has disappointed him more than he can say.
Laying out his challenge, Young continued: "So here is what I suggest if you won't change your mind: give £1 million to LGBTQIA+ charities in Qatar every year that you get your £10 million a year." He added that perhaps this could help provide safety to those living in terror in Qatar.
It comes after Joe Lycett offered to donate £10,000 of his own money to LGBTQ+ charities if Beckham ended the sponsorship before the World Cup started. In a video posted to social media, Lycett said that if Beckham did not pull out of the deal, he would shred £10,000 of his own money. Beckham did not respond to the threat, with Lycett later posting a video of himself shredding the money.

Japan's victory was due in part to an innocuous penalty from Japan's goalkeeper and the freshness of young Jamal Musiala. However, the changes made by German coach Flick did not pay off, and Musiala was ultimately withdrawn from the game.
Despite his youth, Musiala is one of a new generation of players with a lot of potentials. He showed great skill and athleticism throughout the game but was unable to convert any of his chances into goals.
Japan coach Moriyasu's instructions to his team were clear: patience, order, and to take advantage of opportunities as they arose. This strategy paid off in the end, as the Japanese team caused a major upset at the Qatar 2022 World Cup.
The Spanish national soccer team had an impressive debut at the World Cup in Qatar, thrashing Costa Rica 7-0. With this historic victory, Spain is now the leader of Group E, tied on points with Japan. The next match will be against Germany on Sunday, November 27.
It was better that nothing happened in the World Cup match between Morocco and Croatia than to have regrets. The premise was clear, but Morocco's over-motivation led to three costly errors. The Balkans did not draw blood, but in the fourth minute, came the first tachycardia. The umpteenth mistake in the delivery and Perisic, who did not think it through, armed his left foot to send it licking the crossbar. Tottenham's '4', always malicious. It was the quarter of an hour and the ball lacked owner, however much Luka Modric was determined to give meaning to a Croatia precarious in the association. In the North Africans, Ziyech and Hakimi gave depth on the right. The rest, a tactical confusion, with the heart ruling the game. Even so, Ziyech found En-Nesyri at the far post, although the Sevillian scratched the ball without hitting it wide. The duel did not get rid of the sleepiness, not even with a well-loaded double coffee, and it was not until the final moments when the 'chess players' woke up. The last one before the intermission was thwarted by Bono with his knee, frustrating a Vlasic who would not take the field after the fifteen-minute hiatus. Moroccans and Croatians argued and exchanged ideas without imposing their ideas. The match had no owner and the concert was in the stands, with the Maghrebi fans cheering incessantly for every half-worthy action of theirs. The restart was rushed and the doctors had to assist Bono and Mazraoui, injured in the hip after a header. The Bayern player tried but could not withstand the pain. And, with the match in an interminable fallow, Walid Regragui looked for spark with the entry of Abde. The ex-Azulgrana signed one of his characteristic rides in the first one he had and claimed a possible penalty that the Argentine Rapallini ignored. The referee, who was empathetic and open to dialogue, settled a duel of world magnitude with a good score and only used the card-holder as much as was necessary. The players made it easy for him.
The German national team protested FIFA's decision to prevent team captains from wearing an armband in support of the LGTBI+ community by posing with their hands over their mouths in the starting lineup for their match against Japan. FIFA had warned that it would sanction players displaying the armband proposed by the "One Love" association in protest against the human rights situation in Qatar, in particular of the LGTBI+ community. The German federation explained on its Twitter account that the team was protesting FIFA's decision to ban the armband because it was a form of censorship. Nancy Feaser, Germany's interior minister, stood in the VIP box at the match at the Khalifa International Stadium wearing a rainbow armband. Jesper Moller, the president of the Danish soccer federation, said he would not vote for Infantino in the FIFA elections in protest at the decision.
Spain will be facing Germany on Sunday, November 27 in the second matchday of Group E of the World Cup. The match will be played at 20:00 Spanish time at the Al Bayt Stadium. This will be a crucial match for both teams, as Germany will be looking for a desperate victory after their stumble in the first matchday, while Spain will be looking to build on their dominant performance in their first match. The match can be seen in Spain on RTVE La 1 and Gol Mundial.
Japan's fans have given a great lesson to exemplary soccer fans. After the unexpected and celebrated victory over Germany on Wednesday, the Japanese traveling to Qatar to cheer on their national team made a gesture that was applauded by everyone. When the 90 minutes were over, they picked up the garbage from the stands, leaving their sector spotless.
Not a piece of paper, not a glass, not a flag on the ground. All Japan fans have left the Khalifa International Stadium loaded with bags full of garbage, leaving the rest of the spectators of the Qatar 2022 World Cup speechless.
Once again they set an example. Instead of rushing out of the stadium to celebrate their historic victory over Germany at the Qatar 2022 World Cup, the Japanese fans did not leave without picking up every last piece of paper thrown in the stands.
Japan's fans proved once again that they are exemplary. The Japanese national team achieved a historic victory in the opening match of the Qatar 2022 World Cup by overcoming Germany with a comeback, but apart from the sporting aspect, the other news was in the stands.
Kane has had previous ankle injuries but it seems he has avoided another one as he was seen in training with the group on Wednesday. The official England Twitter account shared a photo of the striker in training accompanied by the caption "skipper" and a fist emoji, with the Three Lions optimistic he will be fit to face the USA. However, some people are still worried as England is being a bit coy about the extent of the injury. Unless they're trying to be a bit clever, but I don't think Gareth has got it in him. He's not one of those managers who try to play mind games so I'm a little bit worried about it.
The Uruguayan team is preparing to compete in the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. They are led by Diego Alonso, who has helped the team to rebound after a difficult qualifying process. Their captain, Diego Godin, is aiming to start in the team's opener against South Korea. Uruguay has high hopes for the tournament, hoping to win their third World Cup trophy. South Korea is also preparing for the tournament, led by its captain. They are hoping to improve on their previous performances in the World Cup and make it past the group stage.
The match between Switzerland and Cameroon on the first day of the Qatar 2022 World Cup will take place today, Thursday, November 24, at 11:00 a.m. Spanish time. The match will take place at the Al Janoub Stadium, in the town of Al-Wakrah. Switzerland's old guard is up against the enthusiasm of Cameroon, a team that is usually an entertainer at major tournaments despite the fact that they have only reached the quarter-finals, the African team's ceiling. They were led by the legendary Roger Milla, a sensation in Italy in 1990. The indomitable lions have never faced Switzerland, who begin a new World Cup era with Murat Yakin on the bench. The coach is in charge of trying to improve on Vladimir Petkovic's seven-year tenure with the Swiss national team, which he led to two finals, both of which they almost reached the quarter-finals. Switzerland made it to Qatar in style after knocking out reigning European champions Italy. They did not lose a single match in qualifying and although they have earned a good reputation for their good performances and impressive victories, they have not yet found the consideration they expect from their rivals. Switzerland and Cameroon prefer to play as underdogs in a group with only one clear favorite: Brazil. The door to the second place is open for the rest and that is where the Swiss team is, in a circumstance that they usually take advantage of, and Cameroon, which aspires to leave aside the condition of a side.
King Felipe VI of Spain traveled to Doha, Qatar to attend the Spanish National Team's first match in the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022. He was received by the Minister of Youth and Sports, Salah Bin Ghanim Al Ali, and by the Spanish Ambassador to Qatar, Javier María Carbajosa, among other personalities. The King then moved to the Al Thumama stadium, where he was received by Costa Rican vice-president Mary Munive and the president of the Royal Spanish Football Federation, Luis Manuel Rubiales. The King also greeted FIFA president Giovanni Infantino in the stadium's ante-palace, before listening to the national anthems of Spain and Costa Rica. After the match, in which Spain won 7-0, the King went down to the locker room to congratulate the team in person. He told them that he had never seen a match with such a result in his life, and encouraged the players to keep up the good work. Finally, the King will hold a meeting tomorrow with Spanish businessmen working in Qatar.
The Portuguese national team, led by superstar Cristiano Ronaldo, will make its debut in the Qatar 2022 World Cup tomorrow against Ghana. This will be Ronaldo's last World Cup, and he will be looking to make a big impact in what could be his final opportunity to win a World Cup title.
The Portuguese team qualified for the tournament by finishing second in their qualifying group behind Serbia. They then beat Turkey and North Macedonia in the playoffs to secure their spot in Qatar.
Ghana will be making their fourth appearance at the World Cup, and they will be looking to improve on their 2014 performance when they failed to make it out of the group stage.
The only previous meeting between Portugal and Ghana was in the group stage of the 2014 FIFA World Cup. Portugal won 2-1, with Cristiano Ronaldo scoring the winning goal.
Both teams will be looking to win their opening match of the tournament when they face off tomorrow.
Bernardeschi is a Toronto soccer player who is critical of FIFA's decision to ban the wearing of a rainbow-colored armband with the inscription "One Love" in support of the LGBTQ+ community. Bernardeschi believes that everyone has the right to choose their own beliefs and that no one should be allowed to violate those beliefs. Bernardeschi thinks that when civil rights are trampled on, the world should rise up. Bernardeschi is moved by the history of those who have fought for civil rights and believes that everyone should be on the side of justice.
Japan's team uncovered the shortcomings of a German team that, before kick-off, covered their mouths in front of the photographers in protest at not being able to wear the 'one love' armband and then was silenced on the pitch and punished for not scoring when they could and lacking the punch of yesteryear.
It proved that the Mannschaft are not the eighth best team at the moment, despite their successful qualification for the World Cup in Qatar. But with Bayern Munich's core, the team from which Flick came to the national team, it is a physically powerful team with the same soccer and ambition as always. Japan, on the other hand, proved that they are not up to the task.
During the first half, Germany stepped up a gear and, without overpowering, gradually pushed Japan, whose captain Maya Yoshida cleared a shot from Gundogan, but was caught behind when the goalkeeper, who had made a superb save from another Kimmich shot, committed a somewhat innocent penalty on Daum, which the Manchester City midfielder did not miss.
Gonda had a key quadruple intervention. Japan continued to believe on the counter and their changes were rewarded with goals from Ritsu Doan and Takuma Asano, whose entry disarmed Rudiger and company, to offer the second bombshell of the World Cup against Germany forced to change a lot if they want to be among the contenders for the crown.
Spain started their World Cup campaign with an emphatic 7-0 win over Costa Rica. Dani Olmo got the ball rolling for Spain with a goal in the 11th minute, with Marco Asensio and Ferran Torres adding to the tally before halftime. Four more goals were scored in the second half, with Torres grabbing a brace and Gavi, Soler, and Morata also getting on the scoresheet. The victory takes Spain top of their group, level on points with Japan who surprisingly beat Germany in the other game.
Spain made history in their opening match against Costa Rica in Qatar 2022, with Dani Olmo scoring the 100th goal of the Spanish national team in the World Cup. This milestone was 88 years in the making, since the first goal was scored by José Iraragorri in 1934 against Brazil. The goal puts Spain in 6th place in the ranking of teams with the most goals in World Cup history, behind Brazil, Germany, Italy, Argentina, and France. Asensio's goal in the same match puts Spain on 101 total goals.
Brazil is one of the most anticipated teams at the World Cup, and they will be playing their first match against Serbia tomorrow at 8 p.m. This match is just the beginning of a journey full of pitfalls for Brazil, as they are in a difficult, balanced group with no buffer teams. Tite, Brazil's coach, is under pressure to deliver a win for the country and has been preparing his team diligently. However, only time will tell if Brazil has what it takes to win the World Cup.
The World Cup has seen a lot of matches go into added time, with the longest so far being the England-Iran match which went into 24 minutes of stoppage time. This has prompted Pierluigi Collina to step in and explain that the compensation time is calculated more precisely now and that people should not be surprised to see the fourth official raise the electronic board with a high number. He also says that if more playing time is desired, they must be prepared to see this kind of discount.

A video of Brazilian influencer Priscila Beatrice at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar is circulating on social media, but it is actually a hoax. The video is from the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, which Rihanna attended.
This is not the first time Beatrice has gone viral for her resemblance to Rihanna. In March of this year, she posted a photo on her Instagram disguised as the singer. And in 2020, she began sharing content about makeup, hairstyles and outfits.
Rihanna herself has commented on the resemblance, saying that Beatrice could be her double in the scenes of her most daring music videos.
Al Shahran, a defender on the Saudi Arabian national team, was seriously injured when he collided with his team's goalkeeper during a World Cup match. Saudi Arabia's victory over Argentina was a huge upset, and the country's crown prince Mohammed bin Salman declared a national holiday in celebration. Al Shahrani was flown to Germany for treatment of his injuries, which included a broken jaw and skull fractures. In a message to fans, Al Shahrani assured them that he was doing better and thanked them for their support.
Germany is looking to win its fifth World Cup at Qatar 2022. The team is young and talented, but will face tough competition from the likes of Brazil and Japan. Coach Hajime Moriyasu has declared that his team will have to give their all against the Germans if they want to win, and has said that his goal is to advance to the Round of 16 and beyond.
The Belgium soccer team is set to play Canada in their debut match of the Qatar 2022 World Cup. Belgium is one of the favorites to advance to the next stage of the tournament but lost their last friendly match 1-2 to Egypt. Canada is returning to the World Cup after 36 years and is looking to surprise its opponents. The match between Belgium and Canada will be the teams' first meeting in the FIFA World Cup. Belgium's Kevin De Bruyne is one of the best players on the team and is expected to lead them to victory. Canada's lineup includes Milan Borjan in goal, Allistar Johnston in defense, and Junior Hoilett and Jonathan David as forwards.
Croatia will be under pressure to perform at Qatar 2022 after their impressive showing at the 2018 World Cup, where they made it to the final before losing to France. Luka Modric will be leading the team and they are favored to defeat Morocco in their first match of the group stage.
Morocco arrives at Qatar 2022 with a new coach, Walid Regragui, and a squad full of players with experience at the highest level of competition. The team is dreaming of reaching the round of 16, something they have only achieved once before, in 1986.
This group is one of the most evenly matched in the World Cup and anything can happen, which is what Morocco is betting on in a key match for the qualification to the round of 16.
One of the major themes of the early days of the Qatar 2022 World Cup has been the large amount of stoppage time added on by match officials at the end of each half. This has caused discussion among players, coaches, and fans, with some wondering if this trend will continue throughout the tournament. FIFA legendary referee Pierluigi Collina has said that the goal is to avoid matches with less than 45 minutes of actual playing time and that the extended stoppage time is necessary to make up for lost time due to celebrations, injuries, and other game delays. It remains to be seen if this will be successful in increasing the amount of active play time during the World Cup.
-Mexico and Poland played to a scoreless draw on Tuesday -The biggest moment of the game came when Robert Lewandowski was awarded a penalty, but Guillermo Ochoa made a big save to keep the game scoreless -Lewandowski has never scored a goal in the World Cup and had only nine touches inside the penalty box at the 2018 finals -Mexico dominated possession but was unable to create a magic moment, while Poland was content to absorb pressure in an effort to quickly counter.
The FIFA Disciplinary Committee has opened proceedings against the Ecuadorian Football Association due to the chants of their country's fans during the opening match of the Qatar 2022 World Cup against the hosts.
The Ecuadorian team is in trouble due to the chants of their fans during the opening match of the Qatar 2022 World Cup. FIFA opened a disciplinary file for the chants of its fans in the opening match of the Qatar 2022 World Cup, against the host team, on November 20, 2022.
As a result, the FIFA Disciplinary Committee will open proceedings against the Ecuadorian Football Federation for such determination in accordance with article 13 of the Disciplinary Code.
Ecuador's next match will be this Friday against the Netherlands, at 13:00 hours (16:00 GMT), for the second matchday of Group A.
Downing Street has said that the treatment of UK fans at the World Cup is being closely monitored after rainbow bucket hats were confiscated from Wales supporters in Qatar. The Football Association of Wales (FAW) said they were "extremely disappointed" in the actions of staff at Ahmad bin Ali Stadium towards fans, revealing members of the FAW team were among those asked to take off their hats. The FAW has collated information on these alleged incidents and will be addressing this matter directly with FIFA. I think we’ve had plenty of warning that this wasn’t going to be a World Cup where human rights and LGBT rights and women’s rights were well respected really,” she said. “When you think that Fifa and Qatar couldn’t get it any more wrong, they do something like this.”
Kylian Mbappé had a mixed night in France's World Cup debut, scoring a goal but also missing several chances. He was loudly cheered when his name was announced and caught the ball well on the touchline, but he could not take advantage of several opportunities to score. France was in control of the match and Mbappé had the chance to set up a fourth goal for Olivier Giroud, who equals Thierry Henry as France's top scorer.
In one of the biggest upsets in World Cup history, Saudi Arabia defeated Argentina 2-1 at the Lusail Stadium in Qatar. The Saudi Arabia fans taunted Lionel Messi and Argentina by using Cristiano Ronaldo's iconic 'Siu' celebration. The video of the celebration has gone viral on social media. Saudi Arabia produced one of the greatest upsets in World Cup history as Salem Al-Dawsari's stunning solo effort secured a 2-1 victory over Argentina in Group C at the Lusail Iconic Stadium.
France coach Didier Deschamps said that defender Lucas Hernandez's injury during the team's Qatar World Cup opener against Australia looks "pretty serious."
Deschamps said that the team played a very complete match and that they could have scored more goals.
On Olivier Giroud, who scored a brace to equal Thierry Henry as France's all-time leading scorer, Deschamps said that "beyond the record, I'm interested in what he does on the pitch, what he has always done. Tonight he was effective, he's an important part of the attacking play compared to the group as a whole."
Deschamps was delighted to have Kylian Mbappé in his ranks, saying that "he was already one of the best in the world before this game" and that "he has a great ability to make a difference."
France won their World Cup debut match against Australia, 4-1. The match was initially uphill for the French, as Australia took the lead in the early game. However, France quickly turned things around with goals from Rabiot and Giroud. In the second half, France further increased their lead with goals from Giroud and Mbappé. France looked strong throughout the match and will be a team to watch in the World Cup.
In England's 6-2 World Cup win over Iran, both Harry Kane and Harry Maguire took heavy blows but are expected to start in the next game. Mason Mount played well in an enabler role for England, leading the counter-press and finding space for England to attack. Mount was not in the starting lineup for England's last three games but played well in a No 10 position against Iran. "Just trying to find that space behind their midfield because we knew they would jump and try to press our back four. We dealt with that really well," said Mount of England's strategy.
Harry Kane will have a scan on his right ankle after sustaining an injury during England's World Cup opener against Iran. The scan will take place ahead of England's next game against the United States on Friday. England manager Gareth Southgate appeared unconcerned about Kane's injury in his post-game press conference, saying that Kane is "fine" and that the decision to take him off was simply a strategic move. There is some concern that Kane may miss the USA game, but Southgate has downplayed this possibility.
The fourth round of the Qatar 2022 World Cup will be played today with up to four matches. This World Cup continues with the matches of groups E and F. Today, Spain makes its debut! Luis Enrique's team is ready to play its first match in Qatar and Costa Rica is the rival with which 'La Roja' wants to start its journey in the World Cup 2022.
For this matchday, three of the teams that are considered as great candidates will be making their appearance in the World Cup. Both Spain and Germany will want to make up for what happened in the last edition of the World Cup, while Belgium will have one more chance to try to win the title with a group of players such as Kevin De Bruyne, Eden Hazard and Romelu Lukaku, which seems to be the last time they will be together with the "Red Devils" in a tournament like the World Cup.
Denmark and Tunisia played out a goalless draw in the opening match of Group D at the World Cup. The African team's tireless effort served to dry up a theoretically superior opponent and give uncertainty to the group. The pace of the game was fast-paced, with a Herculean defensive effort from Tunisia. The break was approaching and there was no sign of fatigue in the Maghreb team, while Denmark could not find any solution to the jam beyond the set piece, in the purest archaic Scandinavian style. The African team won on points, but without the prize of a goal. The passage through the locker room did not seem to change the dynamic or revitalize Denmark, but Kasper Hjulmand's team improved as the minutes passed after a shaky start. The Danish '10' could not shine. He returned to the World Cup after the scare he gave at the last European Championship and after seeing his life in danger, first, and his soccer career. He was good, he shared the play and had one of the best chances for the Europeans, but it was not enough to help Kasper Hjulmand's team to win. However, the point leaves them well alive.
Gareth Southgate is concerned that England could be targeted by referees at the World Cup after a pre-tournament video showed an incident involving Harry Maguire that was not called as a penalty. Southgate is worried that England appearing in the video could have ramifications for his side, and he would like clarification from FIFA on how such decisions will be made. This is not the first time that Southgate has had to seek clarification from FIFA on penalty decisions, as there was a similar incident at the last World Cup. Southgate feels that England needs to have clarity on these decisions, as otherwise, they will not know where they stand.
France head coach Didier Deschamps has backed Kylian Mbappe to shine at the World Cup, labeling it "his competition" after the forward excelled in a comeback win over Australia.
Deschamps praised Mbappe's performance, saying that he knew the striker would be ready for the World Cup. He also reserved praise for experienced AC Milan striker Olivier Giroud, who scored twice in the match to equal Thierry Henry's all-time record of 51 goals for France.
However, it was not all good news for France, as several players were injured during the match. Deschamps admitted he fears that one of the injuries, to Bayern Munich defender Lucas Hernandez, could be "serious".
In its opening match of the Qatar World Cup, France took on Australia. The world champions started with the same forcefulness that they had fired the previous one. Australia was not the guest of stone that was expected and for almost half an hour they put their rival on the ropes and made us think that the surprise suffered hours before by Argentina could be repeated. However, between Giroud, Rabiot, and Mbappé, France prevented it and secured a well-deserved victory.
The King of Saudi Arabia decreed that this Wednesday will be a public holiday throughout the country on the occasion of "the victory of the Saudi national team against the Argentine national team in the World Cup". The decision was made after the monarch accepted the suggestion of his son, Saudi Arabia's Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman. The victory ended the Albiceleste's 36-match unbeaten streak, also marking Saudi Arabia's fourth-ever win at the World Cups. Saudi authorities were quick to react, with the head of the Saudi Entertainment Authority and owner of Almeria, Turki al Sheikh, announcing on Twitter that access to two recreational parks in Riyadh would be free on Tuesday to mark the occasion.
Declan Rice revealed that England's recent poor form led to players having a "fire in their bellies" to prove the doubters wrong at the World Cup. He said that the team's emphatic opening win over Iran was a positive start, but that they know they will have to step up their game against the USA. Rice himself had a good game, playing in front of the back four and protecting the ball well. He said that he knows his role in the team and is happy to play it and that the team stuck to their game plan and was rewarded with some lovely goals. Finally, he said that it is an honor to play in the World Cup and that the team is focused on taking it one game at a time.
Saudi Arabia's coach, Hervé Renard, congratulated his players for their victory over Argentina in a match in which "the stars aligned" to defeat one of the favorites for Qatar 2022.
Renard stressed that the celebration in the locker room is logical but that the tournament goes on. He did not rule out that his team's success will go further.
The coach acknowledged that Argentina is still a fantastic team, but in soccer sometimes these unexpected things happen.
Renard finished by saying that when you come to the World Cup, you have to believe in yourself, anything can happen in soccer.
In the biggest upset of the World Cup so far, Saudi Arabia defeated Argentina 2-1 in their opening match of Group C. The Saudis were largely considered the underdogs going into the match, but they managed to put up a strong performance against the tournament favorites. Argentina's defeat was especially surprising given their 36-match unbeaten streak leading up to the World Cup.
After the match, Argentina's captain Lionel Messi stated that the team made several mistakes that led to their downfall. He also said that the team needs to be more united than ever in order to bounce back from this loss.
Despite their loss, Argentina is still considered one of the strongest teams in the tournament. However, they will need to win their remaining games in order to advance to the knockout stage.
In the 56th minute of the World Cup match between Poland and Mexico, Australian referee Chris Beath called a penalty on Lewandowski by Héctor Moreno. Lewandowski took the ball to shoot but was unable to score. This was the second penalty save by a Mexico goalkeeper in a World Cup. In the second half of the match between Poland and Mexico, on the first day of the group stage of the Qatar 2022 World Cup, Lewandowski took a penalty that he tried to change into a goal, but 'Memo' Ochoa saved his shot. Thus, Lewandowski missed a penalty for the ninth time in his career. Robert Lewandowski is one of the great scorers of world soccer in the 21st century, but he has yet to score a goal in the World Cups and against Mexico, the Poland striker missed his clearest opportunity: or rather, Memo Ochoa took it away from him with his save in the penalty.
The Dutchman, Van de Beek, is one of the players who's failed to improve since joining Manchester United. As a result of his poor performances, he was kicked out of the Netherlands World Cup squad. He should look for a new club where he can reenergize as a player if he wants to advance his career.
Similarly, Jones has not played for Manchester United this season and only made five appearances for the club in all competitions last year. Since the 2019–20 season, the 30-year-old has not played for the Red Devils in any European competition. Additionally, United has numerous backup options for the center-back position, including Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelof.
One of the players who did not make the Red Devils’ squad for the 2022-23 season is Jones. This is a strong indication that he is not a part of Ten Hag’s strategy.
The Dutchman is one of the players whose move to United may have been a bad move because he hasn’t done much better since joining the team. Van de Beek was loaned to Everton in the second half of last season, and this season, he has only made seven appearances for the Red Devils in all competitions.
In a stunning upset, Saudi Arabia defeated Argentina 2-1, ending the Albiceleste's 36-game unbeaten streak. Paredes earned a penalty for Argentina in the 10th minute, which Messi converted, but Al Shehri and Al Dawsari scored in the second half for Saudi Arabia. Scaloni made three substitutions in the 60th minute, but it was too late to turn the tide.
On the occasion of the Saudi national team's victory against Argentina in the World Cup, Saudi Arabia's King Salman bin Abdelaziz decreed that this Wednesday will be a public holiday throughout the country.
The decision to make the public holiday was taken after the monarch accepted the suggestion of his son, Saudi Arabia's Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman.
The streets of Riyadh and other cities in the country erupted in jubilation after the victory, which marked Saudi Arabia's fourth-ever win at the World Cups.
Saudi authorities were quick to react, with the head of the Saudi Entertainment Authority announcing that access to two recreational parks in Riyadh would be free this Tuesday to mark the occasion.
Yesterday, professional soccer player Neco Williams received the news that his grandfather had passed away. Williams took to Twitter to share his sadness, writing that it was the toughest news he's ever had to face. He also shared that his grandfather had been supportive of his career from the beginning, always attending his games and cheering him on. Williams ended his series of tweets with a message to others, urging them to cherish their loved ones while they can.
Later that day, Williams took the field for Wales in their World Cup opener against the United States. He played well, despite the emotional weight of the day, and even scored a late equalizing goal to help his team earn a 1-1 draw. After the game, he dedicated his goal to his grandfather, saying he knows he was watching from above.
Spain coach Luis Enrique has explained why he decided to dispense with Valencia player José Luis Gayà, saying that he had to listen to his head rather than his heart to make the decision.
Enrique assured that Gayà's sprained ankle was only a fortnight injury, but he could not risk Jordi Alba suffering a problem in the first two games without a left back.
The coach said that he understands why people in Valencia or Gayà himself would want him to stay in the call-up, but he has to put the interests of the team first.
Enrique admitted that bad fortune has taken its toll on Gayà because of the position he occupies, but explained that the decision would have been different if he was playing in another position.
In the first match of the Qatar World Cup, Argentina suffered a shocking 2-1 defeat at the hands of Saudi Arabia. Messi put the Albiceleste ahead with a penalty in the 10th minute, but two quick goals from Al-Shehri and Al Dawsari in the second half turned the match on its head. Argentina had several opportunities to score in the first half, but were unable to take advantage, and the Saudis took full advantage in the second half. This is a huge blow to Argentina's hopes of winning the World Cup, and they will need to bounce back quickly if they want to stay in contention.
The teams of Denmark and Tunisia will play each other on Tuesday, November 22, 2022 in the group stage of the Qatar 2022 World Cup. This will be a match between two evenly matched teams, as both Denmark and Tunisia have strong lineups. Denmark's likely lineup includes Kasper Schmeichel in goal, with a defense of Simon Kjaer, Joakim Maehle, Andreas Christensen, and Daniel Wass. In midfield, they have Christian Eriksen, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, and Thomas Delaney, and their forwards are Andreas Skov Olsen, Andreas Cornelius, and Mikkel Damsgaard. Tunisia's likely lineup includes Bechir Ben Said in goal, with a defense of Mohamed Drager, Dylan Bronn, Montassar Talbi, and Ali Maaloul. In midfield, they have Aïssa Laïdouni, Ellyes Skhiri, and Mohamed Ben Romdhane, and their forwards are Wahbi Khazri, Seifeddine Jaziri, and Youssef Msakni. This promises to be an exciting match between two strong teams.
The Dutch national team was one of seven European teams who planned to have their captains wear the rainbow-coloured OneLove armband at the World Cup. The armband is part of a year-long campaign to promote inclusion and diversity, but it held special significance in Qatar, where same-sex relationships are criminalized.
After the Dutch team's win against Senegal on Monday, captain Virgil van Dijk told reporters that he would have loved to wear the armband but didn't want to risk receiving a yellow card. England captain Harry Kane also spoke of his disappointment at not being able to wear the armband, while teammate Jack Grealish called the situation "stupid."
The Football Association had been prepared to accept a fine for the armband, but changed its position when it became apparent that Qatar might face sanctions from FIFA. FIFA has been heavily criticized for its handling of the matter, and Wales supporters have alleged that rainbow-colored items were confiscated from them before their match against the United States on Monday night.
Grant Wahl, a journalist, was denied entry to a World Cup match in Qatar for wearing a T-shirt with a rainbow flag in support of the LGBTQ+ community. Qatar has a ban on same-sex relationships, and FIFA has said that the rainbow flag will be welcome at the World Cup. However, the Qatari regime has not said anything on the subject, raising concerns that LGBTQ+ people will not be welcome at the World Cup. Wahl's experience shows that the reality may be different from what FIFA has said, and that LGBTQ+ people may not be able to openly show their support for the community during the World Cup.
Wales captain Laura McAllister was among female football fans who were 'told to take off their rainbow bucket hats' at the Qatari stadium ahead of the Dragons' first match. Men, however, were allowed to keep them on. McAllister, now a professor at Cardiff University, says fans were told to remove the hats because they are a banned symbol. BBC presenter Alex Scott, who has been in relationships with men and women in the past, wore the armband during a live broadcast. Scott said she would not take her hat off because FIFA had made comments about supporting LGBT rights in this tournament. She was eventually forced to leave the hat in a lost property area. Wales' Rainbow Wall wrote on Twitter: "Our rainbow bucket hat. We are so proud of them, but news on the ground tonight is our Welsh female supporters wearing them in #Qatar are having them taken off them, not the men, just women. @Fifacom are you serious !! #LGBTQRights."
Neco Williams, a 21-year-old Wales full-back, made his World Cup debut just one day after being told that his grandfather had died. Williams took to Twitter to reveal that he had spent the day crying but was determined to play in honor of his grandfather. He dedicated his performance to his grandfather, who he said was his biggest fan. Bale's late equaliser from the penalty spot came after the former Real Madrid star was dragged down in the box by American defender Walker Zimmerman. The conversion marked his 41st career goal for the Wales national team, in his nation's first World Cup match since 1958. Wales will face Iran in their next match.
Due to new FIFA rules, there has been an average of eight minutes of added time per half during the first four games of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. This is in an effort to reduce time wasting and maximize playing time. However, due to injuries and other stoppages, England's match against Iran lasted for over two hours with 27 minutes of added time. Some fans have complained about feeling short-changed by a lack of action in previous games, but Collina's initiative should help to address this issue.
In their first World Cup match in 64 years, Wales salvaged a 1-1 draw against the United States thanks to a late penalty from Gareth Bale. Bale was happy to step up and take the penalty, saying there were "no doubts in my head" about doing so. The team was poor in the first half but improved after halftime when they changed a few things and started playing with more character. According to Wales manager Rob Page, it was important not to lose the first game, and credit should be given to the players for their effort in getting the point. John Hartson, commenting on Bale's performance, called him a "freak" and a "genius" for his role in helping Wales.
FIFA is looking to make sure that every second of 'lost' time is made up at the World Cup to deliver a competition where 90 minutes of soccer can be truly enjoyed. This is in contrast to previous World Cups where time-wasting has been an issue. Pierluigi Collina, head of FIFA's refereeing staff, has explained that the main guidelines for referees at this World Cup will be to stop violent play, cheating, and wasting time. He stressed that they will be particularly careful about time-wasting, which is why all matches have exceeded 100 minutes of play. Collina concluded by saying that their priority is to protect the safety and health of the player and that they will be tough on those who try to cheat or pretend looking for personal gain.
The Belgium national team has been ordered by FIFA to remove the word “love” from the collar of their away shirt. The decision was taken just days before the team is set to play against Canada for their debut in the 2022 World Cup. The move follows FIFA’s warning to several teams that their captains would incur yellow cards if they wore special OneLove armbands at the tournament, which forced those nations – including England and Wales, as well as Belgium – to drop the plans. “The word LOVE must disappear. It's sad, but FIFA leaves us no choice,” Peter Bossaert, president of the Belgian Football Association (RBFA), told Nieuwsblad.
The Al Thumama Stadium in Qatar hosted the match between the Netherlands and Senegal, which started with many free seats in the stands. However, gradually, the stadium filled up with fans who entered without tickets due to a computer problem that caused all the gates of the stadium to be opened. Many fans entered without showing anything at the gate, pushing the entrance turnstile that does not offer any resistance due to the system failure. Once inside the stadium, no one looked where each fan sat in Category 1 and no one asked for anything. The same stadium will host the Spain-Costa Rica match on Wednesday, as well as four other matches in the group stage.
England defeated Iran 6-2 in a World Cup match that featured several political protests. Iran surrendered their arms after being outplayed, and England went on to score 6 goals. Mehdi Taremi scored 2 goals for Iran, but the players of the Iranian national team did not celebrate either goal as a gesture of protest against the repression in their country. The match lasted almost 120 minutes, and England came out victorious.
The European national soccer teams have withdrawn their plan to wear armbands with the inscription "One Love" to support LGBTQ+ rights after FIFA threatened to impose sporting sanctions on the captains who wore them. The teams are deeply frustrated with FIFA's decision, which they believe is unprecedented, and their players and coaches are disappointed. FIFA has clarified that it supports the "One Love" campaign but that the armbands must be worn according to competition rules. France was the first team to announce its withdrawal from the armband plan, and the seven other European teams followed suit.

Gary Neville is working as a pundit for ITV's coverage of the England-Iran match taking place in Qatar. He has come under fire for his decision to work in Qatar, with many criticizing the country's human rights record.
Neville defended his decision, saying that he has been coming to the Middle East for 20 years and has had business and commercial relationships in the region for a long time. He also said that he understands the scrutiny that Qatar is facing, as football tournaments often bring attention to the challenges that exist in different parts of the world.
However, he added that he sees it as unfair that footballers and ex-footballers are coming under criticism when other groups, such as the royal family and political parties, also have relationships with Qatar.

Messi says that this World Cup will be special because it is his last chance to achieve the "great dream" of winning the trophy. When asked about his preparation, he says that he didn't do anything special, he just took care of himself like he always has. He ends by saying that he is grateful for the support he has received from fans around the world.
Wales fans attending the World Cup in Qatar have had items of rainbow-themed clothing confiscated ahead of their side's opening game against the USA on Monday evening. The Rainbow Wall, an LGBTQ+ supporters group for the Welsh national team who designed the hats, initially reported that only females were having them taken away. They later updated that men had also suffered the same treatment at the Ahmed Bin Ali Stadium.
Former Wales Women's football captain Professor Laura McAllister said: "So, despite fine words from FIFA before the event, Wales rainbow bucket hats were confiscated at the stadium, mine included. I had a conversation about this with stewards - we have video evidence. This #WorldCup2022 just gets better but we will continue to stand up for our values". ITV later added during their coverage that Laura had eventually snuck her hat in after being told it bore a banned symbol.
Upon hearing the news, The Rainbow Wall, Wales' official LGBTQ+ supporters' group, wrote on Twitter: "Our rainbow bucket hat. We are so proud of them, BUT news on the ground tonight is our welsh female supporters wearing them in #Qatar are having them taken off them, Not the men, just Women.
“@Fifacom are you serious !! #LGBTQRights.”
PA news agency understands a US supporter was threatened on the metro traveling to the stadium for carrying a small rainbow flag. The man who appeared to be a Qatar supporter threatened to “kill” the man, and was saying the flag “was not allowed” and “that flag is banned in this country”. Wales and US fans, as well as Qatari security guards, intervened to protect the fan carrying the flag, which is a symbol of LGBTQ+ rights and pride.
Wales, along with England and other European nations, earlier confirmed they would not be wearing the anti-discrimination One Love rainbow armbands after governing body Fifa threatened sporting sanctions.
Speaking outside a hotel in Doha, where around 1,900 Wales fans had gathered before the US game, he said: “I’m really disappointed, to be honest, I’m disappointed for the countries wanting to wear them and I’m disappointed in Fifa for doing what they’ve done.

Harry Kane is disappointed that he was not allowed to wear the OneLove armband during England's 6-2 win over Iran but accepts that the decision was out of his control. He says that the players are focused on the game and not on the controversy.
Kane and six other European captains had planned to make an anti-discrimination gesture during the World Cup, but the Football Association backed down after FIFA threatened to sanction players who wore the armband.
FIFA subsequently confirmed its 'No Discrimination' campaign and Kane wore the approved armband during England's opening Group B victory.
Kane says that the players are disappointed but they understand FIFA's position and are focused on the game. He adds that they will continue to make a stand as a squad.

Both teams come into the World Cup with high hopes, with Mexico looking to break their streak of seven consecutive World Cups without advancing past the round of 16, and Poland hoping to build on their strong showing at the 2018 World Cup.
The key player for Poland is striker Robert Lewandowski, who is looking to score his first World Cup goal and lead his team to a deep run in the tournament. For Mexico, goalkeeper Guillermo Ochoa will be crucial in keeping Lewandowski and the rest of the Polish attack at bay.
