Sometimes the best thing you can do for yourself and your life is to pivot. Both of us are going through seasons of pivoting and its time we do the same with the Pod. While we absolutely love sharing education - we also feel a little burnt out with the amount and frequency of sharing educational content. We also feel like we’ve been trying to show up as perfect business coaches when in reality all we want to do is be your virtual bestie giving you encouragement as fellow entrepreneurs. So things are going to shift a little around here and we can’t wait to share some new content with you soon!

Work picks up, obligations for holidays and family events are still just as high, we have client conversations and expectations - time doesn't stop like it used to feel like it did in the summer when we were kids. If you don’t write down what you want to do or make plans to do it, time just passes you by and before you know it you’ve missed an entire season of your life that was teeming with opportunities to be present. Today’s episode we talk about making a summer bucket list and go over our own personal bucket lists for the summer.

Last week we chatted about letting go of the things that were not serving us - those low vibe situations, thoughts, and feelings that were bringing us down. Even if unintentionally - we often create our own chaos. The good news is we can control how we feel a lot more than we think. This episode is all about our brains, nervous systems, and higher vibrational energy. We give helpful tips on high vibe things to add into your routine and how to understand how to make those changes sustainable for you and your life.

Books recommended to understanding body and nervous system health:

The Body Keeps the Score by Dr. Bessel Van Der Kolk

How to do the Work by Dr. Nicole LePera

Nervous system topics to research | Tapping (Emotional Freedom Technique) & Somatic Shaking

Meditation | https://www.headspace.com/

We invite you to try some of these techniques and let us know how it goes!

  • Human behavior and why we make choices

What is bringing your vibe down?! Today’s topic is super interesting because even though it can feel a little heavy - we think there’s a lot of hope in letting go of things that are not serving us. We are human and we only have enough emotional capacity so when we let go of low-vibe things or things that make our energy feel low - then we make room for so so much. So listen in on low-vibe things that we are working on in our lives to free up some capacity for greater things - like our growing businesses.

Topics Discussed:

  • Human Behavior and why we make choices
  • Some choices are still draining our batteries even if it’s not intentional
  • Marly’s low vibe things she’s cutting
  • Michelle’s low vibe things she’s cutting
  • Why this kind of reflection is important
  • A glimpse into replacing those things

This is a prompt we have had on the docket for a few months and found a fun way to break it up a little to make it more digestible and fun to listen to. This is part one where Michelle explains what a day in her life looks like as a full time photographer. A little spoiler - Michelle’s schedule is absolute chaos most weeks but she explains how she navigates it with grace and tenderness to herself. One thing is for sure - every day of being an entrepreneur no matter what happened - is a gift.

Topics Discussed:

  • Update on Michelle’s life
  • Retreat tickets are still available - please let us know if you want to attend
  • Wanting to sugar coat this week’s prompt but opting for vulnerability instead
  • An “ideal” day v.s. What actually happens
  • Trying to keep a consistent weekly schedule
  • Non-negotiables in terms of time commitments
  • Navigating the chaos of each day being different
  • Showing up for yourself and your biz even when it’s messy

Ooooh, can you believe we are officially a month into this thing!??! So exciting. We are so grateful for everyone who has tuned in to listen to us. We love being able to share a little part of ourselves with this corner of the online world.

This is a JUICY episode all about comparison. As small creative entrepreneurs, it’s so easy to get caught up in the cycle of doing what everyone else is doing hoping it will work for us. We spend little time thinking about what is actually working for us and trying to fix systems that are not even broken. We talk about how we have struggled with the comparison bug and how it impacted us, our businesses, and our personal lives. As we wrap up the episode, Marly gives us some marketing tips on how we can be more intentional in seasons so that we are not burning ourselves to the ground in every season. If you find yourself constantly exhausted and feel like what you’re doing isn’t cutting it - this episode is for you!

Topics Discussed:

  • The Comparison Bug - what is it?
  • Why waste time trying to fix things that were never broken?
  • Michelle choosing to close her 2022 books early and what that has done for her business
  • Hustle Periods v.s. Maintaining Periods from a marketing perspective
  • You deserve to take up space just as you are!

Welcome to our first wildcard episode!! This is something we want to do to create some opportunities for you all to get to know us and for us to grow our friendship. One episode per month will be a wildcard episode where one of us will bring a topic to discuss on the spot with the other. These are not discussed beforehand so that we can get our true and authentic reactions and thoughts to things. Marly was up first and she chose to do a card game called “We’re Not Really Strangers” challenging us to dig deep and think about how well we know each other. The last half of the episode we each brought in “hot takes” or taboo subjects that are coming up in the industry to see what the other thought of it. This episode is an easy listen, so if you want to get a peek into our crazy friendship, click that play button!

Topics Discussed:

  • What is a wildcard episode
  • Card Game: We’re Not Really Strangers
  • Hot Takes: Would you give your clients RAW photos? How do you feel about reels that are bashing the Instagram algorithm?

This is the 2nd episode and we are still working out the kinks & trying to find our streamlined process. We appreciate you taking the time to hang out with us and help us jumpstart this dream we have! This episode is extra special because we got to be in person together to record and not over zoom!
We talk more in-depth about our friendship and how we formed the idea of a collective. We love the term “collective” because it invites the spirit of co-creation. We love that we are learning something new and sharing what we have and are learning with others. We hope that this feels like a space where people can look at themselves, be inspired, and grow even when it's tough.
We also give a highlight of the content retreat we hosted in September, behind the curtain at the planning of it, and how we both experienced it!

Topics Discussed:

  • Why we decided on a Podcast
  • What other things we hope to do alongside the Podcast (aka the retreats)
  • Forming the “Collective”
  • Our intentions for this coaching space
  • An overview of our content retreat

WELCOME Y’ALL!
Episode summary introduction: Welcome to our new podcast Blooming Anyway. In this brief introduction we go over who we are and how this idea for a podcast was born!

Topics discussed in this episode: We are two entrepreneurs who met over a business transaction. That transaction turned into a super powerful friendship. When Marly moved to Chicago we had to find a way to keep our long distance friendship alive. Our hour (or two) long weekly call every Wednesday turned into our weekly podcast!
