I get that kind of feeling(Dopamine rush) whenever I am at the lake. One in particular is among my favorite places to visit in my state, maybe top two. From this point, the Oxbow lake can not be entirely seen. But that's the beauty of it. Just like any large water body, it give a feeling of adventure and wonder, these give a sense of boundless possibilities. I will tell you about a most recent visit to the Oxbow lake, but first, let's talk about the moon.

With all the recent talk about space travel and how close we have come to commercializing, I sometimes wonder what it would be like to literally sit on the surface of one of our cosmic neighbors(The moon) and wonder to myself; "What a wonderful world". To me, the entire cosmos is my world. Why wouldn't I take it that way? Aren't we liberals? Don't people liken love to the ecstatic feeling of flying to the moon?
Among those people, Frank Sinatra is easily the first that comes to mind. This beautiful Jazz creation was featured in his as part of his "Nothing but the best" album of 2008. The title does it justice.

A few days ago, I was at the lake on the invitation of some friends and somehow, that song came to mind. Fortunately, there was someone there who knew the song, and there just happened to be a guitar around, so I couldn't resist to give it a try. Here it is, I tweaked it to my expression of the song.
The music I first heard this song in a movie that featured people in uniforms and mask, playing games. Can you guess the movie? Well, I would like to see you try, and to show my appreciation for your attention so far i offer to the winner of this guessing game a small token of 2Hbd.
Does it all make sense now, this odd title? If it does, then maybe i'm getting better at writing. On the other hand, i may have underestimated you. Please accept my sincere apology for that.

I had just finished out of secondary school then, in 2012, when this song was released. I had never heard of Mikky Ekko before then, and that was probably the last i heard of him. The melancholy chords show from the start of the song, the mood of the music to expect... However, this is a song that beats the expectations of the start and only gets better.
The song talks about two lovers who although wanting each other, are faced with realities of life and it's toll on their love. They both wish that things were much simpler, and they could stay together. It remains to see if they did stay together, but i think that depends on if love truly conquers all( in their case)

As we get older, we tend to take life more seriously. It's almost as if the fun ends in childhood. That's not entirely true, I think. I believe that children have their worries for their level, and they may experience pain parallel to their comprehension.
Is there a remedy for pain? Not permanently there isn't, as we all know. That is why some people pray for the promises of their religious beliefs to come to fruition; eg, Christians pray that "Thy kingdom come"
In the meantime though, we can only drift for a while so the pain does not consume us.
MUSIC AS A REMEDY FOR PAIN When i was little, i could not understand why in my tradition, people play music and dance at burials. Over here, if the deceased died at a good age(70+) they don't just hold a funeral service. We could have as much as a week or more for burial ceremony and rituals, in which music is heavily associated.
The last one I attended was last Thursday. We travelled over a 100 miles, through land and river to get to the host community- 'Torugbene', Delta state.
We arrived at noon, just before the intermission. Most of our company, mostly family members, travelled back home afterwards. I stayed back back for an adventure and experience that was much needed(funny right?)
Most of the jetties were made of 3/4 or 4/4(inches) column members which were driven into the earth, while any suitable dimension wood was used in other parts of these structures. Bamboos were used for flooring and walls.
Music and Dance Dance Dance!!! After the intermission, some of my cousins and I sat in front of a small shop. We drank, ate and had a million conversations together, passing time till about 11:00 pm when we started to hear the music from the outdoor event center of the compound. Families are grouped into different compounds in these settlements, and they all have an outdoor center where occasions like these are held.
Burials here are a celebration of life, and as such, they are filled with joy enough to overwhelm any sorrow, for nearly all. I will now walk you through my time there, the highlight of the time being a musical performance by the Living legend of the Izon Nation- Mr 'Izon-Ibe', that ensued the first night after the Funeral service. He's the person with the red guitar and the other musicians are his band, i can't think of a single day that they haven't had to perform somewhere. Wherever he goes, you will definitely see a lot of women do this traditionally dance that looks like an ancient version of ‘twerking’, it has many variants and styles to it, and you would often see men dance in a similar way with passionate expressions.
The three minute video below is a combination of smaller clips that show my experience from the boat trip to the party at night. I also took the liberty to add a distinct clip at the end from a past occasion where Mr Izon-Ibe and his band shook the dance floor with another one of his famous performances. At places like these, people who dance really well are sprayed with money in appreciation for the life they bring to the party. Dancing is a core part of the Izon culture.
Everything comes to an end We turned in for the night by 4:00am. Too exhausted to be picky, we slept wherever there was a not-so-hard surface, mostly sofas and couches in a local house reserved for us, it was a decent duplex. Those who left the party earlier got to sleep on a bed, I wasn't one of them. By the next morning we were ready to leave at 9:am.
There were three private cars available. Apparently, there was a way back home that did not require boat travel, so all twelve of us hoped into three cars and started the 100mile journey back to Yenagoa, Bayelsa state.
On our way back we made a few stops to buy food items like oil, Garri(a local cassava based meal), plantains, crayfishe, and fried maggots(yeah, that’s what I said), and they’re very tasty too.

In this journey, I was reminded of the power of music over emotions and reality. People were able to turn pain into celebration using the right toolset of which music is integral. An example to demonstrate that indeed when life happens, music saves.

I find it funny that Diamonds exhibit coloration due to impurity. Even so, red diamonds are the most valuable of all diamonds due to their rarity.
Because of their color, when confirmed to be genuine, they are worth a fortune. All colors are an ornament of nature provided by the creator with the additional purpose for differentiating and thereby creating value in one way or another
Could I be referring to the colorful artistry in flowers? You might consider an artist making beautiful and creative strokes with brush upon his canvas, his palette by his side. You may also wonder at times, why the conventional color for a heart is red.. Some folks favor a black t-shirt over white, some would have it the other way round. Whatever we do, we can't avoid colors because they're literally everywhere right?
The most unique use of colors i have come to appreciate however is when they are used to characterize emotions, we may sometimes feel a little "blue". For me, the color green represents hope, opportunity, a better day. For some people, red indicates danger. White can can mean purity, simplicity or elegancy.
Whatever the context and your interpretation of a color is, you agree with me that color is one of the most thoughtful aspects of creation.

Hello nusicans and music lovers!
This week's theme was though to decypher at first, i later was told that we had to consuder automatic weapons wth a guitar and compare also their potential. One destroys and the other creates.
This theme makes me proud to have picked up the creative one in my life, i am also greatful that i dont have to think about the other one as an option. Peace is often underestimated until war strikes, so with this song today, i celebrate peace and my freedom to play music.
for this week, i found a corner at a fence, close to a lake and fortuntely also, i came accross a few friends who were more than happy to help make a video for this openmic. This song was released by James Arthur back in 2018 in his At my weakest/You deserve better albulm. That body of work had just two songs as the name implies but nonetheless those songs were powerful just as is typical of his songs... i've had a time in the early hours of my day as a musician where i was almost obsessed with his music and as such he greatly influenced my music career. He knows how to convey emotions with his music with his vocal and facial expressions mostly. If he was singing about a girl, yu could tell he meant every word. he has tons of love songs and i guess that explains why i'm more confortable doing love songs than others naturally. maybe it's the allure of the desire that we all have to be loved, who knows?

The inherent ability of music to convey information can touch souls and has power to effect change. Soldiers fighting in the wars over the course of history were filled with courage after singing some important songs, mothers sing songs to children to help them cope when they need it, music and essencial to the happiness of a great many people and admit to being one if them as my life's story cannot be told without music just like you reading this perhaps.
Do you have a favorite song? I don't find it easy chosing or determining my favorites for anything at all, all i know is that my fvorite person in the whole world is my mom but that's as much as i know for favorites. when it comes to music though there's a lot to pick from because there are songs for different moods and i think that that is a function of the inspiration behind the song. Songs can help us feel a certain way at any time, thats true power right there!!
This informs my choice of music and helps me reflect deeply on the messahge i hope to convey when making music..
No wonder unity is sometimes expressed as people 'singing one song'... If that were possible even in a literal sense, we(the world) would'nt be in the current situation we find ourselves in today. one thing would matter more than our diversity and differences
I believe that music has the power to change the world through love and if i am to have a professional music career i would relish the chance to touch souls and heal hearts till my time here comes to an end. So i'm back in Otuoke my school community to tend to some unfinished business. I've been singing in doors a lot today and i just had a feeling to go go out to the university compound, at the center there's a building called the fountain block which has now become my most recent outdoor singing spot. Even though there were a few people passing and watching while i sang, it's a far cry from when school is in session so i'll be doing a lot more singing here as well as in other public places too. I've found that singing in public makes me feel like a bird with plenty sky.
Today i bring you a song from Sam smith's In the lonely hour albulm, a body of work that was my companion for the most part of 2015. The songs on that body of work were therapeutic for me in that i saw someone who could relate to my pain and express them in such an artistic way. I was greatly inspired and it helped me shed a tear or two when i need it. I relish this opportunity to perform this iconic sad song and i hope you enjoy my rendition.

Hurray everyone!!! we've almost reach out 100th week, nothing can spoil my mood at this point. I wasn't with the community from the start obviously but haven been part of the Steemit openmic community it feels like a long time coming and it's almost like i've been here since day one considering the reception i've received since coming on here...
This is an increasible milestone we have reached here which is why i would like to congratulate the entire @openmic community today. I've come to meet a lot of talented people that blew my mind over and over again on a daily bases which is something any musician needs in their lives and career to motivated them to aspire for more. I want to say that i deeply appreciate you all for your love, support and for doing music in the way that you do which is the reason why we all are here, most of us may not be on this blockchain if it were'nt for openmic.
It makes me cery happy to sing with everyone of you today like we are in the same room and on space enjoying our companies and the oneness we have by virtue of the gift of music. A brilliant combo of two of my favorite musicians and easily one of my best songs from summer 2017. I remenber being obsessed with khalid and Marshmelo(among other) at the time, so hearing about the colab got me really excited cuz i don't know hy but it was totaly unexpected for me, plus khalid apeals to me cuz he sounds like he drinks too much i had a drinking problem at the time which should not come as a surprise considering my name choice on here:)) Khalid's music has been very influencial to my music career, many nights i would stay up doing nothing but listening to his American Teen album... that body of work was genius and really meant more to me than i can express with words, so i feel honored to perform this song here today.
I thought to try out something new with my video today!
Today we felt like playing around with the sun, keeping the camera static has been a thing for me but i got a hint from something @khaleesii said(can't remember what i was though) and thought to play around a little. This video was done in my school compound while were still on strike. The building i did my video in front of is called The Fountain block. Don't ask me why cuz i don't know either, it may have something to do with the multiple inclined lecture theatres on a evry floor perhaps. I basicaly has two wings which have a lecture theatre on each side from the ground floor to the 3rd floor.
That's enough about the building though. Today i bring a song i absolutely love with a prototype video shoot pattern with @khaleesii helping me out with the camera... thanks for everything!!

Today i bring you a short song i wrote for @Music community.
Here I express a general thought from my point of view, I believe that from time to time we all get lost in life and try to retrace our steps in a bid to try to make something out of the broken pieces lying on the floor.
MISTAKES ARE'NT FORBIDEN That's something i only got to realize from picking up my broken pieces. If you're suffering from effects of a mistake, just know that all that matters is your sanity and continuity.
Doing what you can and accepting what you cannot change is fhe perfect remedy for moving forward in my experience, trust me, you can make it out stronger than you could imagine.
Applying these to my life helped me cope with a lot of terrible experiences and i'm happy to share it on here today hoping someone needs it.
Please remember that you owe it to yourself to be strong.

If you had the opportunity to have a one on one conversation with God, what would you say to him?
Would you ask him for reasons why or for a way out?
Many religions believe it is posible to talk to God in prayer. I for one am not a religious person, but all men must believe in something and when it comes to our creator i believe that all creation had to have been created from his essence, a product his dynamic energy. If this is the case, we are part of him and vice versa so by that he knows our deepest thoughts.
Regardless, however, i pray today with the few lines of this song but i know that in all, he understands my plight and situation. I just need more clarity, clarity only he can give.
The gift of free will is perhaps the most intereating feature that God gives to his living creations especially humans, and by this gift i live my life exerting myself on my environment. In doing this, i may have hurt him one way or the other, but he is my maker and he knows me better than i know myself, so i only need to reach out to him from within or with my voice.
please father, hear my heart and answer my prayer, help me find truth because the truth answers the question and points to the way out, Amen.

I enjoy music more when it expresses emotions i can relate with at the moment i'm making it. Some emotions are special though, they are very general in that everyone must have felt like that at some point in their life.
Everyone has loved someone and that makes love songs(in particular) timeless. When two souls are in love with each other, any observer can tell. You don't need front row tickets to take a correct guess and that's because we have all come to understand the language of love.
