ABOUT THIS EPISODE
The power of Tefillah is mind-boggling — just as it can move worlds, so can it move the individual immeasurably. Ani Tefillah’s multi-faceted program inculcates in our precious children a close, meaningful, and deeply satisfying connection to God. Our goal is to empower students to be mindful of God’s presence and feel a connection to Him by expressing their personal thoughts, requests, and feelings through tefillah.
As the creator of the L’havin Ulehaskil Chumash curriculum, Sefer Yehoshua and Tefillah workbooks, and a seasoned educator with an expertise in curriculum development, Mrs.Nusbaum had met with administrators, teachers and principals from across the spectrum of Jewish education. Across the board, the majority expressed the need for a Tefillah curriculum. After collaborating with rabbonim, educators and parents, Ani Tefillah was born.
Mrs. Nusbaum has been teaching all grade levels for the past thirty years and specializes in structuring scope, sequences and strategies to utilize classroom time to maximize student learning opportunities. She possesses both the technical know-how for curriculum development as well as the critical skills for classroom integration. Her pedagogic approach ensures that each individual child and the class as a whole are engaged in a process of learning and growth.

ABOUT THIS EPISODE
Yeshivos struggle to motivate excellence in General Studies. The Torah speaks to every facet of life, therefore we can teach a comprehensive and intellectually stimulating General Studies curriculum through the lens of the Torah. Machon Menoras Hachochmah guides students to perform above peers in standardized statewide testing, reinforce values learned in Torah classes, and respond to secular perspectives.
Machon Menoras Hachochmah’s General Studies curricula are thoughtfully aligned with national Common Core standards. This ensures that yeshiva students do not sacrifice academic excellence as their commitment to Torah and its values are reinforced.

ABOUT THIS EPISODE
Ner Yisroel’s entry-level division provides its 250 talmidim with a well balanced educational program.
In addition to the high level lomdus of the be’iyun shiurim, two bekius programs instill hasmoda in the talmid while broadening his familiarity with different parts of Shas. Each grade completes one “bekius masechta” per year as part of the curriculum; in addition, there are special incentives that inspire many bochurim to voluntarily be mesayem the be’iyun masechta during off-hours.
Class sizes are kept below 25 to maximize individual attention. The highly dedicated rebbeim view themselves as much more than maggidei shiur; the close kesher they forge with their talmidim serves as a venue for mentoring with proper hadracha and chizuk. A rigorous, comprehensive limudei chol program features all the requisite courses, as well as exciting ‘electives’ in relevant subjects such as public speaking, Jewish history, and the like.

ABOUT THIS EPISODE
Developing Our Students Into True Mekadshei Hashem
Living Kiddush Hashem was founded with the goal of imbuing every Jew with a powerful sense of mission — the mission to be mekadeish sheim shomayim in his or her own unique way.
We accomplish this by raising awareness of the paramount importance of the mitzvah of Kiddush Hashem and its centrality in everything we do.
Rabbi Shraga Freedman, influenced by his Mashgiach Harav Matisyahu Solomon Shlita, authored Living Kiddush Hashem - a guide to the mitzvah and mission of Kiddush Hashem published by ArtScroll/ Mesorah - and the Hebrew sefer Mekadshei Shemecha, a comprehensive work on the hashkafos of Kiddush Hashem. Rabbi Freedman has made spreading Kiddush Hashem awareness his life goal and authored a biweekly column in Yated Ne’eman for several years and developed an extensive Living Kiddush Hashem curriculum. Rabbi Freedman has been in education and school administration for the last 20 years in both high school and elementary levels.

ABOUT THIS EPISODE
Magen Yeladim Child Safety Institute is a 501(c)3 charitable organization founded in 2013 by Debbie Fox, LCSW, to meet the need for culturally sensitive child abuse prevention materials in the Orthodox Jewish community in Los Angeles and around the world.
Ms. Fox first developed MY Child Safety Institute’s Safety Kid child abuse prevention program in 2006 for the Aleinu Family Resource Center (Aleinu) of Jewish Family Service of Los Angeles (JFSLA) in response to a series of heinous incidents of child abuse that occurred in LA’s Orthodox Jewish community around that time.
Over the years, the need for child abuse prevention education programs became increasingly apparent as not only more accounts of abuse emerged but an increasing number of Jewish communities in the United States and around the world inquired about and requested the culturally appropriate and sensitive Safety Kid programs for their communities.

ABOUT THIS EPISODE
In this episode, we have the privilege of hearing from Ori Shriqui, the Team Captain, Nate Kovo, the Head of Mechanics, Ofer Bar-on, the Head of CAD (Computer Assist Design), Kenny Green, a dedicated Parent Volunteer, and Rabbi Lior Chakotai, the Menahel of AMIT Modiin High School for Boys. Together, they make up the Trigon 5990 team that competed in an international robotics competition in Houston, Texas.
Despite the fierce competition, the Trigon 5990 team remained true to their values and beliefs. When the final stage of the competition fell on Shabbos, they chose not to compromise their observance of the day of rest. Instead, they wrote a letter explaining their decision and handed it to the announcer.
To their surprise, students from all over the world stood up and applauded their decision. The announcer then addressed the crowd and said,"Thank you for the reminder that there are other things outside the world of robotics that are also important."
This inspiring story of commitment and dedication to one's values will leave you feeling empowered and motivated to stay true to your own beliefs, no matter the circumstances.

ABOUT THIS EPISODE
MaDYK is a universal screening assessment of Hebrew reading skills which give teachers the ability to simply and easily assess and monitor a child’s Hebrew reading level. MaDYK offers educators a quick, practical and innovative way to periodically assess and continually monitor students' Hebrew reading skills. This system delivers accurate information about each child and can be used to create personalized strategies to help students' achieve Hebrew reading success.
Academic research by the creators of MaDYK, in consultation with Acadience Learning, has led to the development of international benchmarks of Hebrew reading skills. These benchmarks help determine the reading level of individual students and help educators create plans for further assessment and intervention based on the specific needs of each student.
Schools may have their own measures and assessments that give some indication of student learning. However, MaDYK's database ensures accurate and reliable information about student's Hebrew reading skills.
MaDYK is influenced by the extensive research which indicates that a child's ability to read is a significant predictor of overall academic, social, emotional, and behavioral success. The MaDYK team is committed to supporting and advancing children's literacy skills.

ABOUT THIS EPISODE
Talent Educators is a global initiative that aims to address the growing challenge of recruiting and retaining high-quality educators in Jewish education. To achieve our goals, we map the demand in Jewish formal and informal education, profile those who can deliver, and ultimately match them successfully while providing them with a support network and mentoring. Our long-term goal is to discover untapped talent, those who, with the right training, mentoring and support, can become excellent Jewish educators.
