Discussing everything that happened in the first week of the finals plus, for some reason, the 2025 origin
We recorded this before the debate but my god I wish we hadn't - THEY'RE EATING THE DAWGS
What a week, huh? Did you know that Stephen Curry is the greatest shooter of all time? I'm sorry that, for another week, I've not found an opportunity to do my RFK Jr impression, I'm going to try again next week.
Whoops sorry we mostly watched Lympics this week. Podcast NOT brought to you by Pizzeria Sicily.
I forgot to mention Manchester by the Sea as a movie to cry to but my god that film completely ruins me. Michelle Williams' "do you want to get lunch some time" is the single most innocous yet destructive line of dialogue
I've not read anyore of God Emperor of Dune since two podcasts ago, I felt like I needed something to disrupt the sameness of the narrative after only reading the first three books, so I picked up Sacred Hoops by Phil Jackson, which is a great and really easy read. Some people recommend that book as a good leadership/mentoring type read but I just like it for the Jordan stories.
David is back from his undisclosed mission to help save a man whose identity we cannot mention
I've hit somewhat of a snag reading God Empeor of Dune. I am enjoying the narrative and I find Leto II a really interesting characters, with Herbert dialling up the introspection and making a very weird guy if not understandable, at least interesting, but I find that now, four books into the series, I would prefer a story that isn't about everyone trying to assassinate the Atreides. Bit of Fremen conquest maybe?? Oh yeah Tyronne Thomas joins us for this episode too.
Dune update: I'm about 100 pages into God Emperor of Dune and I'm enjoying it. It feels like Herbert is trying to write another version of Dune Messiah but this time do it properly. It's immediately obvious that the writing is much more polished in this one, and the time jump so far is working for me.
I just finished reading Children of Dune last night, which means I get to read God Emperor of Dune now which everyone says is good but wow Dune Messiah and Children of Dune are such a drop in quality aren't they? Like Messiah feels like a first draft the entire time, and while the tone of Children matches the first Dune, Herbert's attempt to reintroduce the wide scope of characters and stories it just doesn't really hit in that narrative does it? Anyway - rugba leeg.
Talking origin: mate vs. mate, state vs. state, I didn't throw up on a train this weekend.
In this episode we resume NRL mediawatch, including Peter Fitzsimons tweet about who were the bad guys in world war 2, really? Paul Kent's night in Rozelle, Footy Legends and the movie Napoleon - oh and some rugba leeg
Reviewing NRL round 2, previewing round 3 and talking playing increasingly lower divisions at an increasingly higher age
We are now named for our NRL podcast, and in this episode we're talking round 1 review, round 2 preview and Stuart McGillfe. Featuring the talents of David and Izaak.
Thanks for reading this, if you did.
Yours sincerely,
Deez
Look at me rhyming in the titles. This second episode of the as-yet untitled rugba leeg version of the podcast goes over the excitement and scandal of round zero and what's to come in round one.
Welcome to a new, as yet untitled, issue of the TBC podcast talking about rugba leeg, cricket, and where peoples wives may or may not be located.
We return with days before the NBA regular season is due to start and there's a whole lot basketball to talk about before that begins.
Hey it's Joe uploading the day after recording. I'm not precisley aware of all the things we talked about in this episode but I believe it was mostly basketball.
When the Celtics and the Lakers are on the verge of elimination, is there anything better to do than praise the Heat?
There are three things on our mind this week and that's playoffs, playoffs, playoffs baby!
Ok maybe that's one thing three times but there's three of us so take that.

In this Oscar-winning episode, we talk the Celtics tough week, the Nuggets weird loss, the surging Lakers, who we think will make the play-in, and (whoops) the Brisbane Broncos.

Nor will we be prevented from discussing the reborn Warriors, the streaking Bucks or the Streaking Knicks. PLUS is Jokic a stat-padder or does Kendrick Perkins have CTE?
It’s time for the all-star break baby. We recap the actually exciting dunk contest, talk some trades we missed as well as the very exciting and fun Knicks, the surging Bucks and the spooky Clippers.

We are not crazy people - Denver are intetionally ruining their rims to gain an advtange. PLUS: All-Star, the Chicago Bulls, are the Bucks no good? And more.
To kick off the new year, we're taking a look back at the Boxing Day schedule, worshipping at Doncic's altar and being shocked by the sheer amount of talent available in the league. Note: we lost half an hour of audio in this episode, but just know that we ragged on D'Angelo Russell for accusing Zion of playing football.
As the biggest day on the sporting calendar draws near, Zac joins to preview the NBA's Christmas Day games, which for us are Boxing Day games. PLUS, the Pelicans, Nuggets, Bucks and Raptors.
This week we delve into ornithology and investigate the Pelicans, Hawks, Raptors, and why RJ Barret is no good.
It's a quarter of the way through the season, so it's time for some takes - including the Warriors, Lakers, Bulls, Mavs, Pacers and more. PLUS we are joined by Rudy Gobert for an exclusive interview.
The beam is beaming, the Celtics are streaking and it’s Tables Ladders & Chairs in Philly. PLUS Cal’s guaranteed multi.
Coming off an 0-7 road start by the Warriors, Joe is reeling, while Cal is less than sympathetic
In this first episode of the TBC podcast we touch on the Kyrie saga, take a whirl around the Eastern Conference, give our takes on the results of off-season moves and generally talk nonsense about the nba after perhaps too many beers.
