This is a podcast that has weekly sermons from the Sunday services of Lanterns Church in Wayne Michigan. Our mission is HELPING PEOPLE DISCOVER GOD-GIVEN PURPOSE THROUGH JESUS.
This is week five of our series Tipping The Scales. To travel on a plane you trust the pilot, to receive a check you depend on the payee, to get a surgery you give control over to the surgeon. This is common for mankind to do so, yet more importantly, we are called in faith to trust, to depend, and to give control over to our Savior Jesus Christ. When we truly go to Jesus for who He is and listen to what He says, our lives will reflect a real testimony. We will have a mature faith that is always growing. Are there things God has said that you are not walking out with faith? We read over and discuss scriptures John 4:43-54.
This is week four of our series Tipping The Scales. We walk by people daily yet sometimes we don't look to see the opportunities God has prepared for us to have Christ-centered conversations or to offer in the moment prayer for someone that we cross paths with. With this message we continue to unpack the book of John and Jesus makes it clear that there is a great harvest to be gathered. Will you look up and see for yourself? Seeing people like Jesus sees people changes everything! We read scriptures from the book of John 4:31-42.
This is week 3 of our series Tipping The Scales. We have all felt thirsty, in the face of heat, during a good workout, or when even battling a stomach flu. It's vital for our lives to stay hydrated. Same with our souls, as humans we thirst with desires. Where do you run to when you soul is thirsty? Today we unpack the importance of where you run when your life feels dry, troubled, or when it craves true joy. Jesus makes it clear He has living water that impacts our eternities no matter our past. We read over scriptures John 4:1-30.
This is week 2 of our series Tipping The Scales. In a world of people that have been recognized in history we talk about Jesus the one who rules over history, the present day, and the future. Jesus Christ became flesh and is the greatest of all time to walk among mankind. There are countless reasons to allow Jesus to carry the weight in our lives and today we unpack many of them. We read scriptures John 3:31-36.
This is week one of our series Tipping The Scales. There are choices we make daily that adds weight to us leaning on ourselves or God. Which way would the scales tip with the decision you make in your day to day? Is your life more about yourself or is it more about God? This message unpacks the vital truth that less of us and more of Jesus brings victory in our lives and the lives of others. We discuss the scriptures in John 3:22-30.
This is week three of our series Face To Face. When we are face to face with people do we love them enough to talk about sin. Anyone can see that mankind clearly has a sin problem, but when talking about sin everyone doesn't quite get to an important part of the conversation... Jesus didn't come to the world to condemn it but so it might be saved. Sin is real but Jesus and our salvation is just as real and there is a design in God's creation that allows us not to perish but to have eternal life with God. Do the people around you, your workplace, your family, your neighborhood know how much God loves them? If you confess Jesus as Lord they should hear about it. we read scriptures John 3:16-21, Hebrews 1:1-3, Romans 3:23, Romans 6:23 and Romans 10:9.
This is week two of our series Face To Face. Jesus is having a one on one conversation with Nicodemus and emphasizes a historical account in scripture to explain what is to come for Gods Kingdom. When talking to someone face to face do you lean into the opportunity to refer to scripture. If not, what is getting in the way of you depending on the power of God's word? Scripture shouldn't be look at as an option but as a necessity in our everyday conversations. We read scriptures John 3:10-15, Numbers 21:4-9, 1 Corinthians 2:1-16, and 2 Corinthians 10:1-6.
This is week one of our series Face To Face. have you ever wanted change in your life? Jesus shows us the change we need in our lives is a supernatural one. In John chapter three we see Jesus speaking face to face with Nicodemus, and for us we should realize the importance of when, where, and how to have these conversations as well with others about God's Kingdom too. Do you know the one true supernatural God, and if so, who should you have a face to face conversation with about Him? These conversations can be used to impact people's eternities. We read scriptures John 3:1-9 and Ezekiel 36:25-27.
This is week six of our series Introducing Jesus. So many people have been fooled by wrong doings of others in God's gatherings. Have you ever done something in the wrong place at the wrong time? Jesus passionately confronts the misuse of worship in the temple, revealing His zeal for God's honor and calling people back to authentic devotion. While religious activity can look impressive on the outside, Jesus sees the true condition of every heart. This passage challenges us to examine our motives, remove anything that has replaced genuine worship, and remember that a good heart posture towards a relationship with God is more important than an autopilot-activity of religion. People may be fooled by appearances, but God is never fooled—He knows our hearts and desires sincere worship. We read scriptures John 2:13-25, Romans 12:1, Deuteronomy 6:5, 1 Corinthians 10:31, Colossians 3:17, Colossians 3:23, Psalm 103:1, and Proverbs 3:9.
This is week five of our series introducing Jesus. Do you look for God in all areas of your life? Sometimes we can just auto pilot through the ordinary but Jesus shows us we can and should invite Him into all areas of our lives. Jesus is able to use all areas of our life to show His Glory and reveal who He is and what He is doing. Don't expect the ordinary when Jesus comes with abundance. We read scriptures John 2:1-12.
This is week four of our series Introducing Jesus. Here's the question, how do you view Jesus? As we grow in our understanding of Jesus we should share our point of views with our family and friends. We continue unpacking the first chapter of the book of John and see the importance to include our family and friends. Jesus is able to connect with people in a supernatural way and bring forward new life. We read scriptures John 1:40-51 and Genesis 28:12.
This is week three of our series Introducing Jesus. Jesus is approached by two men and He doesn't start with speaking a sermon or speaking a miracle, We see Jesus offer an invitation, 'Come and See." We see there is something more powerful than just information when getting to know Jesus and Hid church, an invitation to experience Jesus and His Kingdom is life changing. In the same way can we be teachable and reflect Jesus' hospitality ourselves with others so they can come and see what God is doing as well? We read scriptures John 1:35-39 and 1 Peter 4:9.
This is Week 2 of Introducing Jesus, we explore who Jesus is through this message titled "The Lamb." John the Baptist boldly identifies Jesus as the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world—the fulfillment of God’s redemptive plan from the Old Testament revealed by the Lamb to be sacrificed on a cross. This episode unpacks the reality of sin, the hope of redemption, and the importance of recognizing who Jesus truly is. Just as John served as a witness to Christ, we are also called to point others to Him. Do you know Jesus as the Lamb? Do you really tell others about Him? We read scriptures John 1:29-34.
This is week one of our series Introducing Jesus. If someone were to ask you to explain who you are, how would you answer? More importantly do you really know who God says you are? Today we look at a humble yet bold John the Baptist introducing the coming of the messiah. It's made clear even though much of the world says our identity is self-made, our identity is actually God-given. We read scriptures John 1:19-28.
This is week three of our series The Prologue. We unpack the important truth for our faith, Jesus is Lord and he was truly human and still truly God. Jesus was a visible witness and revealed to us an invisible God. Jesus proved God gets near and relational to mankind. Do you view God as a distant God or a God that is near? Have you truly looked at Jesus to see who God is? We read over scriptures John 1:14-18 and reference many other scriptures that confirm Jesus was truly man and is truly God.
This is week two of our series The Prologue. Jesus entered the word He created to be among us in the flesh. We did nothing to deserve it yet His love brought Him to earth for us. sadly many people didn't recognize Him and many rejected Him. This still happens to this day. People struggle at seeking out who Jesus truly is and instead make things up to try to make Him who they want Him to be. Do you grasp the Love Jesus is and has for you and others? We read scriptures John 1:6-14 and 1 John 4:16-21.
This is week one of our series The Prologue. This is the setup story before the account of Jesus in the flesh with His ministry here on earth. The book of John highly focuses on the 3 years of Jesus up until the death and resurrection. The book of John paints a picture of who Jesus was and is. God has made it possible for each of us to know life and know light. Do you continually seek to know Jesus who is life and is light? we read scriptures John 1:1-5, John 20:30-31, 1 John 5:11-12, John 5:39-40, John 10:10 and John 10:28.
We conclude or series You're Invited on this Good Friday. We live in a world where people commonly boast about themselves and their achievements. Mankind gets lost thinking that will be what truly brings them a value worth living. As we unpack the conclusion of the book of Galatians. Paul states anything he can do is waste compared to the actions of Jesus Christ on the Cross. The act of Jesus on the Cross should be what we boast about. Do you get caught up trying to impress the world instead of living a life in response to being impressed by our Lord and Savior? We read scriptures Galatians 6:11-18, Philippians 3:1-11, and Luke 23:27-49.
This Easter we celebrate the resurrection of Jesus and the promise of living water. In our life we try to fill ourselves when we fill empty, dry, exhausted, and stressed. The common mistake is we run to so many wrong things to fill us up but today we discuss the truth that God is satisfying and the only one that truly satisfies and fills the voids we experience in life. God clearly invites everyone who is thirsty to come and drink for free, we just have to receive it. Are you spiritually dehydrated? the answer to this question not only reflects the health of our lives here on earth but for our eternities. We read scriptures Jeremiah 2:13, Isaiah 55:1-2, Psalm 42:1-2, John 4:5-15, Matthew 28:1-10, Revelation 22:17, and Isaiah 12:2-5.
This is week 9 of our series You're Invited. In the world today so many things are so easily replaced, phones, vehicles, appliances, clothes and the list goes on. Sadly that replacement culture has even leaked in to our relationships with people. When the world might even encourage replacement, God shows us the importance of prioritizing restoration of people over replacement. There is a "how, what, when, and who" when it comes to restoration. Have you ever experienced being restored? Have you made yourself available to help restore others? Truth is, that takes intentionality and Love. We read scripture in Galatians 6:1-10, 1 Corinthians 5:5, and Matthew 18:19-20.
This is week eight of our series You're invited. Everyone’s life produces fruit. The question is not if we produce fruit, but what kind. God uses Paul to explain two contrasting ways of living: life led by the flesh and life led by the Spirit. Our actions "the fruit," can reveal which one we are following. The Spirit leads us daily, step by step. The flesh pulls us toward selfishness and sin. There is a constant battle, but the Spirit gives power to choose what is right. Right living begins with daily dependence on the Spirit. Bearing fruit takes cultivating, consistent growth in our Faith. Living life on false teachings or information can impact us horrendously, but our God lovingly has provided us with truths. Paul reminds the Galatians that there our truths that can and should shape their lives even in the face of false prophets and teachings. How do you seek truth in a world full of lies? How do you not just lightly read but study God's word? We unpack scripture in Galatians 5:1-10, Matthew 7:1, 1 Timothy 6:10, Philippians 4:13, Matthew 18:20, Jeremiah 29:11, Psalm 105:15, and Jeremiah 17:9.
This is week six of our series You're Invited. It can be awkward to start a relationship, relationships can become dull and stagnant, some relationships come to an end, why is that? Have you experienced this? There is a living God that invites us into a growing relationship, a relationship that should be prioritized over religion, relationships focus on love, identity, and closeness with God. In Galatians 4, Paul reminded us that God did not save us to make us empty religious servants—but to make us Spirit filled sons and daughters. Habits and religious acts can be good, but they must flow from a loving relationship —not just heartless obligation. If we focus on growing in our relationship with God it then pours out for the better into our relationships with others as well. Do you really have a healthy relationship with God? We read scriptures in Galatians 4:1-31, Proverbs 3:32, Psalm 119:105, 1 Thessalonians 5:17, Mark 1:35, proverbs 13:20, Matthew 6:17-18, Hebrews 12:1-2, and Matthew 25:34-40.
This is week five of our series You're Invited. In a world falling into fear there is a hope we can lean on through faith. Have you been affected by fears when making certain decisions? God has a freedom for us to receive through salvation, in the letter to Galatians we see that it is very important to choose our faith over our fears. We unpack how God's promises can help strengthen our faith. We read scriptures Galatians 3:1-29 and Genesis 15:5.
This is week four of our series You're Invited. As Christians, our lives at times can be “experiences” pointing to the gospel for others. If our actions contradict God's true message, people don’t just simply have a doubt — they may be led astray with following Christ and His truth. Saying we believe the right truth is not enough if we live in a way that denies it with our actions. Do you focus on your walk as a christian as much as your talk? We read Galatians 2:11-21.
This is week three of our series You're Invited.God never intended believers to live, or work alone. The gospel not only brings us into a relationship with Christ — it brings us into a family. In today's scriptures, Paul shows us how God uses accountability and community to protect the truth and unite His people for the glory of God. We read over scripture in Galatians 2:1-10.
This is week two of our series You're Invited. We talk about the praise worthy God that calls His children worthy and gives us the gift of a worthy message. Do call on God as your Father? Is Jesus your Savior? Do you depend on the Power of the Holy Spirit to move in your days? We are reminded God meets us where we are at but when we respond He changes our direction. Are you Sharing His hope filled message with others? We read scriptures Galatians 1:11-24 and 1 Corinthians 2:1-5.
This is week one of our series You're Invited. People receive many invitations in life, some important, some meaningless. As believers we are called to deliver the invitation that matters most, the invitation to “The gospel” this good news is not just an ordinary message or opinion. It’s an invitation to real value, real hope, real love, real life change. Have you received this invitation yourself? In a world the makes excuses, are you inviting people to know the Good news of Jesus? We read scriptures in Galatians 1:1-10 and Luke 14:15-24.
This is week three of the Series Elijah. We have been looking over his account and he is definitely a bold prophet in Scripture. Working in and through Elijah, God proved He was the true God and many got down on their faces and called out to the Lord. God worked in and through Elijah greatly during many mountain top moments, but the scripture doesn’t stop there. God shows us not just Elijah’s victory, but also some lows that follow. This message is for anyone who has ever felt strong one moment and then fearful, exhausted, or down the next. We read over scriptures 1 Kings 18:41-46, 1 Kings 19:1-21, Romans 5:3-5, and 2 Kings 2:1-18.
This is week two of the series Elijah. Sometimes we say we want to see God move but we hesitate when He asks us to trust Him in uncomfortable, risky, or unfamiliar ways. The story of Elijah shows us that when God’s people are willing to live radically for Him, they get to witness a Radical God in action. In 1 Kings 17 and 18, we see two powerful moments where God proves who He is—first to one woman, then to an entire nation. Do you make yourself radically available for God? sorta knowing about Him and not truly living for Him can leave you sorta missing out. We read over scriptures 1 Kings 17:8-24 and 1 Kings 18:1-40.
This is week one of our series Elijah. In the midst of chaos and evil of the world, our great God is easily able to work in and through a person to impact an environment. In a time when there was 19 consecutive evil leaders over a kingdom, God works in and through prophet Elijah in powerful ways. Are you making yourself available for God to work in and through you? Are you truly living a life that resembles a real man or woman of God? Is God really your Lord? We read scriptures 1 Kings 17:1-7, Psalm 51:15-17, Jeremiah 17:14, James 1:2-4 and Colossians 3:5-11.
This week we conclude our series Travel Light. We are getting ready to travel into the new year and each morning brings a new day, a day where God has sufficient mercy, abundant grace and life giving hope for anyone that seeks Him out. How do you start each day? Are you traveling into the next day carrying to much weight from the past or carrying to much weight from worry of the far future? God has a promise for us today, in the now to help us with these burdens. We read over scriptures in 2 Corinthians 5:17, Lamentations 3:22-25, 2 Corinthians 12:8-10, and Matthew 6:22-34.
This was our Christmas service in the Travel Light series. We unpack the truth of the ultimate gift for the world, Jesus our Lord and Savior. We had a family service with all ages gathered around as we shared the story of the birth of a baby boy divinely laid out in order to offer salvation to the world. how are you responding to this real historical truth? We read over scriptures Luke 2:1-20, John 3:16-17, and Romans 10:9-13.
This is week two of the series Travel Light. Do you feel your heart is prepared going into this season? In the winter so much of our time can get lost into preparing for events instead of fighting to focus on preparing our hearts for the season at hand. Bad things are not the only distraction from great plans, good plans can even distract people from the great plans God has for us. How much time are you spending with Jesus during these holidays in the places we live? Do you teach the next generation more about worldly traditions or about the Gift from God and His plan for discipleship? We read over scriptures Luke 10:38-42, 1 Corinthians 7:35, Proverbs 4:25-27, and Isaiah 30:21.
This is week one of the series Travel Light. We can find ourselves in traditions and habits of the world that leave us so tired. Instead we can seek wisdom and rest from God? This week we talk about the weight of chasing after too much stuff. The truth is, it's better to have less of what doesn't matter and more of what does. We unpack this as we read over scriptures Matthew 11:28-30, Ecclesiastes 4:4-6, Luke 12:13-21, Matthew 19:21-22, and Psalm 119:33-40.
This is week eight of our series Armor Of God. It is clear God designed us to live life we others, we are not meant to be alone. As we conclude studying the book of Ephesians we are guided to communicate with one another, to encourage one another, to love one another. Having love involved in all situations is vital for our days here on earth, especially in the face of spiritual warfare. Godly love allows for a better connected, deeper rooted church family. Do you understand the love God has for you? How much do you really love God in response? You can get an accurate answer by looking at how you love others. We read verses Ephesians 6:10-20, Ephesians 6:21-24, 1 Corinthians 13:1-7, 1 Corinthians 13:13, Revelation 2:1-7, and John 3:16-17.
This is week seven of our Series Armor of God. Today we unpack the importance of using the Sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God. The inspired, infallible, inerrant, complete, authoritative, sufficient, effective, divine word of God is also used to determine our relationship with God, What people do with God's word can reveal a person's relation with God. With that said, what are you doing with God's Word? Is the Word of God as vital to you as the Sun is to our earth? The Sword of the Spirit should be carried into and lived out in every day battles, without it we will struggle standing firm through many situations. This is week six of our series Armor of God. Have you ever had a title before you had a mindset to match it? Through Salvation God has a mindset for us all to filter the thoughts we have through our lives here on earth. We can be attacked with so many negative thoughts throughout our days, therefore it is very important we lean on the armor God that He has for each of us. With that in mind, what thoughts would you like to have victory over? We read over scriptures Ephesians 6:10-20, Romans 12:2, Philippians 4:7-8, 1 Thessalonians 5:8, Romans 8:5, Colossians 3:1-4, and 1 Corinthians 15:54-58.
This is week five of our series Armor Of God. Whether we realize it or not we tend to put our faith in things, when you are honest with yourself what would you say you put your faith in? Do you put your faith in the one true God? Through scripture we see we are offered a spiritual armor for all of the spiritual warfare we face in our days. Today we unpack the importance of the shield of faith. We read scriptures Ephesians 6:10-20, Hebrews 11:1-40, and John 10:27-30.
This is week four of our series Armor Of God. Do you have peace in all areas of your life? There is peace for us through situations and that peace is offered to us from God. First He has made peace available for us between Him and ourselves, He also offers us to have peace between each other in the church, there is even peace offered to us that can surpass all understanding. This starts with us focused on the Gospel, the good news of Jesus Christ, if equipped with the Gospel we can stand firm with God living a life on mission. We read Ephesians 6:10-20, Romans 5:1-11, and Romans 10:9-17.
This is week three of our series Armor of God. If you were thrown into the frontlines of a battle, and given the choice to wear highly protective armor protecting vital organs like your heart, wouldn't you? God has a breastplate to protect our heart through Spiritual warfare and it is made of righteousness. This is not something we earn but something we are gifted. Even so, in life we try to cover our hearts instead with a cloth bib, or paper when God offers us so much more, a breastplate! What is protecting your heart? We read through scriptures Ephesians 6:10-20, 2 Corinthians 5:21, 1 Peter 1:13-16, Genesis 3:1-7 and Genesis 3:21.
This is week two of our series Armor Of God. There is a truth that we can all understand, false statements oppose the truth. Where do you seek to find truth? In a world that confuses and distorts the truth we are shown the importance by God to seek out His real truth. By seeking out and carrying the truth into our days it prepares us for all situations. Is the enemy undermining certain truths in your life? We read scriptures Ephesians 6:10-20, John 14:6, John 15:26-27, Ephesians 14:14-15, Matthew 7:15-17, and John 17:13-21.
This is week one of our series Armor Of God. We set up the series with the clear fact that God says there is a war going on that our eyes can't even see. Since the beginning of mankind Adam and Eve was tempted by satan in the garden, also Jesus was fasting in the wilderness and then was tempted by the Devil, we too can be spiritually attacked. Do you lean on God and put on His armor, not just once in a while, but do you realize the importance of putting it on daily? We read the scriptures in Ephesians 6:10-20 and really focus on Ephesians 6:10-13 during this message.
As we conclude our series "Dark To Light" we also celebrate our 3rd year of services. We discuss how we easily learn from watching and imitating. With that in mind, who or what are you imitating throughout your days. Do you find yourself imitating Jesus through searching out His examples and teachings? Or do you find yourself imitating things you have experienced in this world separated from God's will? God offers us to walk as children of light, shining as bright lanterns into the darkness of the world. We read over scripture verses in Ephesians 5:1-20.
This is week seven of our series Dark to light. We unpack the importance of Looking to God's plan for our Households. We lean into the purpose to respect and love the people we live with. If we allow God to govern our household's we will see more heavenly things in our homes. If we have this in our homes we can then carry it out from our homes into the world. wouldn't you like to see a little more heaven on earth? We read scriptures Ephesians 5:21-6:9, Matthew 6:9-10, 1 Timothy 3:4-5, 1 Timothy 5:8, proverbs 22:6, and Ephesians 4:31-32.
This is week six of our series Dark To Light. Like a tree's roots and health matter for its growth, We as people need to care about these questions... Where are our lives planted? what are we rooted in? Are we growing in what matters most? Are we truly united with God's Church? The Creator of all things has a loving plan to strengthen us in Faith, Hope, and Love. This plan involves Christ followers to be uniquely united as one for the better of everyone. We read over scriptures Ephesians 4:1-31, Psalm 1:3, Colossians 2:6-7 and Ephesians 3:14-21.
This is week five of our series Dark To Light. Today we unpack the mysterious plan of God revealed to His followers. Do you think you have a problem being confident when not knowing everything? We discuss the truth that we don't need to know everything to believe in something. We can confidently and boldly believe in God and find courage knowing He does know all things. This should encourage us to follow God and His will for our lives. This plan is layered in such a grace and love. We read scriptures Ephesians 3:1-21 and Romans 11:33-36.
This is week four of our series Dark To Light. This is a vital part of Christ’s mission that Paul explains in this section of scripture today, and three very important words we can summarize this great work: SEPARATION, RECONCILIATION, AND UNIFICATION. Without Jesus there is separation between us and the one true God, but with Jesus Christ we are reconciled and united to God and to one another as the church. Are you really living a united life with others that believe in Jesus? We read over scriptures Ephesians 2:11-22, Isaiah 52:7, Galatians 3:28, and Romans 10:11-13.
This is week three of our series Dark To Light. There are positions people receive on a sports team, a position for a person to receive at work, and a position people receive in our relationships... But most importantly, there is a position to receive from God when it comes to our spiritual health. We have ha God that can take a person from a graveyard to a glorious throne room. There is a grace that can radically change our positions in life, are you aware of the position God has for you? We read over scriptures Ephesians 2:1-10 and Luke 6:32-34.
This is week two of our series Dark To Light. What is your prayer life like? Do you Pray with thanksgiving, with confidence, hope, and with the acknowledgement of power in prayer? Do you pray for others? Today we look at apostle Paul writing to the church in Ephesus, God's word makes it clear to us that we need to lean into praying for one another and understand how we could be praying for one another. we read over scriptures Ephesians 1:15-23 and Isaiah 6:9.
This is week 1 of our series Dark To Light. We look at the letter God used apostle Paul to write to Ephesus. This letter is themed with God's plan for salvation, unity purpose and identity. Today we discover our true identity by studying who God says we are. How would you answer if someone came up to you and asked, "Who are you?" God teaches us in His word about our true identity and we hope to help each other answer this question "How will you respond to your identity from God? We read through Ephesians 1:1-14.
Today we unpack the beginning of Genesis chapter 11, what is known as The Tower of Babel. What do you think happens when human ambition forgets divine purpose? We open God’s Word to a moment in history when humanity spoke one language, shared one culture, and moved as one people. United in voice and vision—yet completely out of step with God’s will. We discuss what happens when we try to build things with bad foundations. With your actions, your decisions, what kingdom are you trying to build? do you try to lift up God's name or just your own? We read scriptures Genesis 11:1-9, Genesis 9:1, Acts 2:1-7, and Revelation 7:9-12.

Through repentance there is forgiveness and guidance to then in turn help others walk towards freedom and forgiveness as well. Today we expand on the Scripture of Romans 10:9. We have all made mistakes, we have done unrighteous things, we have committed sins. Now the Good News is there is a God that has a redemptive plan for mankind, and if we confess and believe in what is true we will be saved. What a gift it is for us to be removed from something horrible even though we do nothing to earn this opportunity. Hearing this, have you truly confessed, and do you truly believe? We conclude our series of Truth and Dare with this week's talk. Through our faith we are meant to shine, we have a God-given purpose to live on mission for others. All people should be invited to know God. Through struggles and suffering there is a God that offers comfort, peace, strength, and truth. Will we make our lives available for God's light to shine in and through us? Who will we share with? Who will we invite to discover God? We are called to not compromise our faith even in the face of lions or whatever fears we face in our lives. Sometimes we struggle to do the right things because we let our pride get in the way. In chapter 4 We see a powerful king has been humbled by the one true God and we are reminded of our chance to respond to God's grace. we read over scripture in Daniel 4:1-18, Daniel 4:22-37, Proverbs 16:18, and Luke 4:8.
This is week 3 of the series Truth and Dare. What trials have you had to face while others were watching? When trials come do you choose to stand up and stand out for God's Glory? We continue to walk through the book of Daniel and discuss the importance of not looking to false idols and making sure we don't choose certain things of this world to be an idol for us. When we look through Daniel chapter 3 we see how God is glorified when He shows up again in a miracoulus way for these men with bold faith. Today we start the series Truth and Dare as we walk through the book of Daniel. We look at the life of Daniel and see how distinct he was with his life. We too should be determined to live a distinct life in response to our faith, Do you find yourself allowing your earthly circumstances to weaken your faith? When you know a truth how do you communicate with others, Do you Fight for the right things the wrong way? We need to reflect on how distinct we truly are with our lives. Today we finish our series Core Values. We are called to be Disciples, that make disciples, that make disciples... During our time we discuss the importance of discipling Children and also having a childlike faith ourselves. God shows us in scripture how much He cares for the kids. Also we discuss how older Christ followers should be investing in the younger generations and those disciples should be investing in even younger generations and so on. God has a plan for us to build up the church. Some questions we reflect on are... Who are you discipling and who is discipling you? This is week two of our series Core Values. This week we focus on the importance of serving one another in love. Christ followers need each other, we are designed to do life with one another with love. In scripture the church is compared to a body... all parts are important, we are many parts but one body, if a body was all eyes how would we hear anything... if the body was all ears how would we smell. We are all wonderfully made with different unique gifts, skills, and talents, There is a place for all of us, you have value. This is the start of our series Core Values. Our Core Values are Love God, Love People, and Love Discipleship. We discuss the fact that if we are truly disciples of God we will love God... if we love God we will love people... if we love people we will make disciples. As we examine our love for God we should reflect on the fact that He so loved us first. By having daily encounters with God we can continually discover who He is and what He says and in response we will grow in affection towards Him with love. This Easter we talk about the theme of water, The living water that God is and also water with baptism. If you have felt yourself dehydrated from the consequences of your plans know there is a God that says instead you can come to Him and live out the plan He has for you. A plan to replinish you and keep you healthy like a watered garden even through the most "scorched" situations in life. We are challenged to continually grow forward with our faith, what are you waiting for? We read scriptures Matthew 28:18-20, John 7:37-38, Isaiah 58:11, Romans 6:1-11, and Acts 22:16.
This is our Good Friday Service titled "A Good Friday Intervention." We discuss the importance of interventions. Interventions can be painful but are good, and when done with love they can even be life giving. God has tough conversations for us that are embedded with truth and love, but our worldly ways can distance us from being able to hear God's intervention. His word has us reflect on the dangers of being lukewarm in our relationship with Him. What will you do this week to respond to how He intervened for our sins on a cross? As we conclude our series "Time" we finish walking through the book of James. Drifting away from a plan laid out for the better of mankind makes us wanderers. To wander away is partnered with the involvement of unrighteousness in our lives. God calls the people known as the church to be used as a tool to help bring people back to God. A multitude of sin is covered when we reach out to people with truth and love for restoration. We read scriptures James 5:16, James 5:19-20, Proverbs 10:12, 1 Peter 4:8, and Matthew 15:18.
This is week 6 of our series Time. So many of us have experienced a time when we tried to make a plan for it to just end up not working out. These self-made plans can create a mess in our lives and in the lives of others. The good news is there is a God, Creator of all things, that has plans that will always work out. We discover the importance of carrying out God's plans even over our own with our days we live here on earth. His plans are embedded with love and purpose for us and the people around us. This is week 5 of our series Time. So many people have experienced being wrongly and rightly judged in their lives. With scripture using some type of the word "judge" over 700 times, we discuss the importance to take a deep look to understand this topic correctly. There is types of Judgement we should never do and is horrible. There are also good ways, honorable ways to examine..."judge" people for the better of their lives and the lives for others around us. The best way while examining situations is to depend on God and His word and openly taking time to judge the condition of our hearts before we allow the actions that follow. During Week 4 of our series Time we discuss how a tiny spark can set a great forest on fire. God's Word shows us this is relatable to our tongues... what we say matters. Will we use words to bring life or death, to praise or to curse, to love or hate, encourage or discourage? These are questions we should take time to reflect on and examine our hearts because people with genuine faith will desire to control what they say. We are given responsibilities as followers of Christ, what we choose to do matters. We read scriptures 3:1-17, Luke 12:41-48, and Matthew 6:1-4.
This is week 3 of our series Time. We take a look at the importance of sharing favor but not having favoritism. If we are not intentional with our time with people favoritism can creep into our lifestyles. In the book of James chapter 2 We also discuss how our faith should be partnered with good deeds. If we have a genuine faith we will be impacted by the favor of God and desire to share favor with others. We read over the scriptures in James 2:1-26 and John3:16-17.
This is week 2 of our series Time. Communication is so important yet in our days it can be filled with sharp tongues and anger, filled with hurting one another and wanting to be heard but not care about hearing others. There is a call on our lives to be slow to speak, quick to listen and slow to anger. While we listen and learn in life having knowledge isn't enough, we should then act in response to the things we know. We get to do this while building upon the solid rock foundation of our God instead of the sand of our own control and foolishness. We read scriptures Matthew 7:24-29 and James 1:19-27.
This is the first week of our series Time. As we discuss the book of James it is clear if we examine our faith over time we can truly see if our faith is genuine or fake. Also through even troubles we can have joy knowing we get the opportunity for our endurance to grow. This is way easier to say then to actually live out but we will endure all situations if our faith is genuinely depending on God and His plan. In a world that throws so much at us, let's discover how to be in an undivided relationship with our God. We read over scriptures Isaiah 29:13 and James 1:2-18.
This is week 4 of the series Love Like Jesus. We passionately discuss how loving like Jesus is a set apart love, a love different than the love our world usually offers. If we learn to depend on God and continually discover His love for us, in response God's Spirit can guide us to truly love others. Remember people should know we are followers of Jesus by the way we love each other. We read scriptures 1 Corinthians 13:1-7, 1 Corinthians 13:13, and John 13:33-35.
This is week 3 of the series Love Like Jesus. In this service we removed our rows of chairs and set up tables in circles for our church family. We learn about taking the Lord's supper over a meal and discuss the importance of being devoted to a community of people. Our communities should priotize the building of relationships. One important way to do this with each other is to break bread with one another, to take our time with each other and share meals. If we consider ourselves followers of Jesus Christ we must be devoted to God and His will, and devoted to our church family. This is week 2 of the series Love Like Jesus. We see in scripture Serving should'nt just be something we do once in a while but a servant should be who we are, a lifestyle. God so loved us He took on flesh as Jesus and Jesus came as a servant. Jesus served us even up to the moments on the cross serving up His life. To discover more of the importance of loving like Jesus we look over many scriptures like Matthew 20:20-28, John 13:1-8, John 13:12-15, Luke 22:24-26, Matthew 23:11-12, Romans 12:9-13, and James 2:15-17.
This is week one of the series Love Like Jesus. In response to the unconditional love of Jesus, we are called to be ambassadors while we are here on earth representing the God that offers such a love. The first way we can focus on loving like Jesus is to Forgive, to truly forgive others and to mercifully pray for others, even our enemies. Doing this will also bring a freedom into our lives. This is week 2 our the series One Thing. This week we continue to uncover the importance of seeking God first. Not only should we seek God but we should pursue Him with the right motives. Even good things done with the wrong motives can turn situations into bad things. We look at historical accounts of a man named Philip and a man named Simon in the book of Acts. Through a relationship with God we are blessed in so many ways but it is important that we seek the Lord for the Lord and for Him alone first, not just for some reward. This talk reads over scriptures Matthew 6:33 and Acts 8:4-23.
This Week our talk uncovers the importance of focussing on the ONE THING over all other things we could get caught up focussing on. Sometimes we build list upon list that are so hard to tackle all at once. Today we see the call on our lives to seek God first and in response to that all other things needed will be met. Also when we spend time with our God and He reveals truth to us, do we prioritize being led by the Spirit to carry it out with our actions. Let's look to the new year seeking God the keeper of promises and allow the one true Way Maker to light the path for us as we walk through life. We conclude with week 3 of our series Immanuel. In our lives it is so easy to want an unhealthy amount of control. The good news is there is Powerful, Loving, Perfect King over all other kings that we can turn to and depend on instead of trying to be the imperfect kings and queens of our own lives. This King, Our God was known by many beautiful names one being Immanuel which means "God Is With Us." As we discover more about this King and the availability we have to Him and His plan we can be set free from the other things ruler over our lives. We look at scriptures Matthew 1:18-2 and Matthew 2:1-15.
This is week 2 of our series Immanuel. During a season when many gifts are given we discuss how receiving a gift can be so impactful. Knowing how impactful it can be, we focus on how our God is the ultimate giver of gifts. When He offers redemption, reconciliation, and Hope through the gift of salvation how can we respond? We look at how the wise men respond in the way they seek the Newborn King and how they act when they have an encounter with the Son of God Jesus as a child. we read over scriptures Matthew 1:18-25, Matthew 2:1-15, and Ephesians 2:4-10.

Matthew chapter one and two shows us many of the unexpected travels and situations for Mary and Joseph. When we find ourselves facing unexpected situations in our lives how will we respond. We conclude the series "God Is" with week 7. We discuss how impactful it can be to receive an invitation. We can be encouraged knowing there is a God with a grace filled invitation to each and everyone of us, and it is life-giving. Even in the midst of our mistakes God extends a message of hope. It is promised for Israel in the book of Isaiah and has been offered to us the world through the Son Jesus Christ. Also as Christ followers we have the privilege to answer the call on our lives to go out and share the invitation with others! We read scriptures Isaiah 55:1-13, Romans 5:6-11, and Luke 14:15-24.
This is week 6 of the series God Is. In our world it is common for mankind to desire love, but many times we find ourselves looking for love in all the wrong places or even looking for the wrong types of love. God the Father is love and He has made available an ultimate love for each and everyone of us, a love that is perfect, pure, sacrificial and unconditional. We look at a historical account that shows off the love God has for His people and reflect on what that means for us in our lives and the people around us. We read scriptures Hosea 2:1, Hosea 2:14-23, Hosea 3:5, and 1 Corinthians 13:13.
This is week 5 of our series God Is. Have you ever gave someone a good gift? As people giving good gifts how much more could an all knowing God, an ultimate Father give gifts to us? God is a provider, we see this in the historical account of the prophet Elijah and we can see it throughout our own lives as well. In response to Gods generosity we should be consistently filled with gratitude. As we receive generously will we be generous as well? We look at scriptures Matthew 6:25-33, Matthew 7:11, 1 Kings 17:1-16, Luke 22:14-20, James 1:16-18.
This is week 4 of the series God Is. We look at the contrast between the real and the fake, the living and the dead. We are given the opportunity to be in relationship with the one true living God. As we continually discover Him and His love for us, we can in response love God and love others. through the living Spirit the dwells within in us as followers of the living God we should walk and talk in a way aligned with the will of our ultimate Father. We read scriptures Jeremiah 10:1-16, John 15:1-12, Matthew 16:13-16, Psalm 18:46, Psalm 42:1-2, Psalm 84:1-2.
This is week 3 of the series God Is. When everything is consistently changing around us we can always be anchored to the unchanging God. The God that will always give hope and will always be love. There is an opportunity for us to continually change for the better by spiritually receiving a new heart and a new spirit. through the grace of God we are gifted renewal even over our sin in response to repentance. We see this in the historical account of king David. We look at scriptures 2 Samuel 11:1-7, 2 Samuel 11:26-27, 2 Samuel 12:1-10, 2 Samuel 12:13, Hebrews 13:8-9, Ezekiel 36:24-27, and Malachi 3:6.
This is week two of the series God Is. As humans we find ourselves surprised at times, and sometimes it is with very unfortunate situations. Knowing this we can find confidence in our God that is never surprised. A God that is powerful, that is in control, and is all-knowing. We look over 14 chapters of a historical event of a man named Joseph, son to a father named Jacob. Through his life he faces many difficulties but through the favor of God he is able to rise up. The same God that is with Joseph is the same God that walks with us through our relationship with Him and that should affect the way we walk and talk. We look at scriptures Genesis 37:4-8, Genesis 39:1-6, Genesis 39:21-23, Genesis 41:15-16, Genesis 41:37-40, Genesis 50:15-21, and Romans 8:28-34.
This is Week 1 of our series God Is. There is a noticeable difference between good and bad, light and darkness and when we get caught in the midst of bad things we can confidently grab on to a hope offered to us all. That Hope is found through God, The God that is Creator of all, The God that is relational, the God that is hope and offers ultimate hope to us that call on His name. We look at how God created all things and uniquely designed us for a purpose. We study scriptures Genesis 1:1-31, Genesis 2:1-4, Genesis 2:15-24, Genesis 3:1-15, and Romans 15:13.
This week we take another look at the commission giving to us as sons and daughters of God. We take a look at how we are designed for discipleship. To consistently follow Jesus and to teach others how to follow Jesus. Through this time we look at why we should disciple, when we are truly a disciple, and how we are suppose to disciple. This is all in response to learning we are designed to make disciples, that make disciples, that make disciples. We discuss scriptures Matthew 28:18-20, John 13:34-35, John 8:31-32, and Luke 9:23-25.
This Week we talk about being kingdom minded. As we continue to discover the purpose God has for us, will we respond with a mind and heart focused on His kingdom. there is a love, a hope, a trust filled relationship offered to the world, but how will people accept it if they don't truly know about it. We are called to share with our words the good news of Jesus Christ and know through these opportunities God will be with us. We discuss scriptures Matthew 28:18-20, Acts 1:8, Romans 10:9-15.
Today we celebrate being a local church for one year! We understand there is darkness that brings confusion, hurt, and the feeling of being lost into our lives but through a relationship with Jesus the light of the world our lives are illuminated! through this relationship with God it brings hope, love, purpose, healing, reconciliation, redemption, freedom, and salvation into our lives as well. In response to our relationship with our Lord and Savior we receive a light to carry it out into the world for others. We discuss the ways we can be light-bears and truly shine for the glory of our God. We look at scriptures John 8:12, Ephesians 5:8, and Matthew 5:14-16.
We conclude our series Abraham with week 5. We discuss how we can walk with confidence even in times of testing. There is an endurance, a strength that can build within our faith in response to the process of testing. We can find hope and trust remembering what God has done and what He promises still to do. As we walk with God who is alive, active, and present... We also look at how God's prevention is God's protection and He provides a replacement for each an everyone of us in response to our faith. We look over the scriptures Genesis 22:1-14 and James 1:2-3.
This is week 4 of the series Abraham. A common mistake made is taking control of a situation out of a lack of patience for a plan to be carried out correctly. It is so easy to try to over control and take short cuts to try to achieve the things we want. At times this leaves us falling short or failing in a way that it affects us and others negatively. Knowing this, how do we regain confidence after we fail? We discuss this in today's message as we read through scriptures Genesis 16:1-5, Genesis 17:1-6, Jeremiah 17:9, Romans 7:15, Proverbs 4:14-15, Proverbs 28:13, James 5:16, and 1 John 1:9.

This is week 8 of the series ACTive. Have you ever been caught in the midst of a severe storm? In life we face many struggles and these struggles can feel Like storms and shipwrecks. But even in the darkness, there are promises that bring the light of hope in all these situations. We continue discussing the book of Acts and look at an account of a storm and shipwreck and how God promises to keep Paul even as a prisoner of Rome safe. We discover how this same God has promises for us that will give us a hope that can change the way we walk and talk even when in the midst of a storm. We look at the scriptures in Acts 27:13-36, Acts 27:39-44, and Isaiah 43:1-3.
This is Week 6 of our series ACTive. The truth should not be distorted, the truth should be shared with one another. Also forgiveness is offered to us through turning to God and having faith even through are wrongdoings. Have you received forgiveness and have you forgiven others yourself? The message from God the creator of everything, is to be shared. In a world that has outplayed tempting you with idols and false truths it is so important that we help the truth reach our city, the surrounding cities and to all the world. We look at scriptures Acts 20:17-32 and Ephesians 4:32.
We are in Week 6 of the series ACTive. Have you ever been a part of something that should have been simple yet someone else overcomplicated it? Maybe you have found yourself even overcomplicating things? We see this can even happen when it comes to the Church and sharing the Gospel. Jesus lived out a bunch of complicated things so we could simply receive the good news. We can receive salvation through the grace of God. We can have a transformation in our lives through Jesus. We go over the scriptures Acts 15:1-11 and Acts 15:19-21.
This is Week 5 of our series ACTive. There is power in prayer! We look at a historical account of prayer being connected to a miracle. When people come together to pray we see results that lead to a better lifestyle on mission for God and His kingdom. When we pray for the sake of others we have the opportunity to see chains break. Who could you pray for and who can you pray with? In todays talk we discuss the scriptures in Acts 12:1-17.
As we look at week 4 of the series ACTive we see there is a call on our lives to actively share, but we need to be available. We not only have the privilege to receive a gift freely given from God but also have the privilege to share the good news with others. We see in history there are two completely different men Peter and Cornelius yet actively met by the same God, the creator of all and it changes their lives and the lives of others around them radically! In this message we discuss scriptures Acts 10:1-48.
This is week 3 of the series ACTive were we discuss the importance of being teachable. Have you ever met someone that was a know it all? maybe you have been this person in moments? Pairing the 2 words "I" and "Know" quickly towards things in life can be dangerous. There is a design for us to continually be coached and in turn to be available to coach others. To do this we must carry a posture of being teachable. When this happens we see God uses it to bring joy, reconciliation, and transformation to our lives. We look at scriptures Acts 8:26-40 and Isaiah 56:1-8.
This is Week 2 of our series ACTive. Sometimes we can find ourselves feeling hopeless in situations, but through God there is hope. Our God is a consistent God that brings transformation to our lives if we have the right heart posture. There is always hope in Christ and it is available to all of us. No one is too far gone. We see Saul a persecutor of the church radically transformed by his encounter with Jesus Christ. We study scriptures Acts 9:1-25 and 1 Timothy 1:15-16.
Join us for week one of our series ACTive. God is actively moving and has a plan for us to actively be on mission with our lives. When Jesus took on flesh He came to serve, not to be served. In response to Jesus and His Acts of love and teachings, we see many followers in Acts live out the call of also being a servant. We look at the account of Stephen and how even though it was very important, he was so much more than just his serving role at the local church. He was a servant with a God-Given purpose for his life. We read scriptures in Acts 6:1-15 and Acts 7:1-60.
This is the third and final week of our Series The Acts Of The Apostles. Through the book of Acts we see the lifestyle of of many people led by devotion. Wether we are aware of it or not our lives today are devoted to something and what we are devoted to matters, who we are devoted to matters. Also in response to a devoted relationship with God and the community He has for us, it should change the way we talk and walk. We look at the scriptures Acts 2:41-47, Acts 3:1-12, and Acts 4:1-21.
Week 2 of The Acts Of The Apostles. Suddenly there was a power that came upon the gathering of people that were followers of Jesus?! Today we discuss how there is a Spirit alive and living, a power that is gifted to us through our relationship with God to help us live life on mission. The Holy Spirit is an encourager, a counselor, a guide to help refine us and direct us to help others. Do you remember the power behind driving a car for the first time, what a power... right? In such a more powerful way there is the Spirit of God that wants to impact our lives in so much more powerful ways. We continue to discover what this means through God's word. We look at scriptures Acts 2:1-8, Acts 2:12, John 14:16-17, John 14:26, Galatians 5:22-23 and Matthew 7:7-8.
We kicked off our series Acts Of The Apostles this week. We look at the start of the church after the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. In the beginning of the church in Acts we see the Disciples faced with many "What Now? Moments." the decisions that were made were very important. How these times were handle impacted us even thousands of years later. When we find ourselves in moments of our life thinking "What Now?" what will we do? lets discover what God shows us through His word as we dive into the scriptures Acts 1:1-3 and Acts 1:6-14.
This is our final week of the series Different. When answering the call to be different with our lives we are promised to come up against opposition. We will witness persecution if we are all in on the purpose God has for us. But through these situations we can learn to live boldly, face opposition, strengthen our faith, and live closer to Christ. We look at scriptures John 15:18-20, 1 Peter 4:12-13, 1 Peter 4:19, and 1 Peter 5:5-7
This is week 3 of our series Different. We discuss how there is a calling on our lives for us to be different. We can answer this call by showing people the goodness of God. this brings light to how we act and speak matters. as we continue to discover that we are sons and daughters of God the creator of all, the King of the universe and understand who He says we are it will then guide us what to do with our lives. we look at scriptures 1 Peter 2:9, 1 Peter 2:11-12, 1 Peter 2:15-16, and 1 Peter 2:21-25.
Check out week 2 of the series Different. While on earth we are called to have different values, values that will set us apart from others. The tension is struggling with having the desire to fit in will go against this. We discuss the importance of follow Jesus and His Values. Remember living holy isn't the path to knowing Christ, knowing Christ is the path to living holy. We look at scriptures 1 Peter 1:13-21.
This is our first week of the series Different. We as people all face trials while on earth. Trials can heavily effect the way we live, they can even affect our faith. We focus on the difference between a genuine faith and a false faith. There is a God that offers us comfort and Joy through a genuine faith in all situations. This faith will be a faith that causes us to walk and talk different. We look at scriptures 1 Peter 1:1-9 and James 2:1-4.
Week three of our series Habits. So many of us speak out during our lives and what we say and how we say it matters. There is good news to be shared, but for it to be shared people must go out and speak it to others. If people hear about something so life changing they then in turn have a chance to accept it and trust in it. There is a perfect God that has a loving relationship available for imperfect people. A relationship that redeems, heals, and restores and we are called to Share this, to speak to others about this with urgency and importance, it should become a habit. We look at scripture verses Romans 10:8-15 and Matthew 28:18-20.
This is week 2 of the series Habits. God's word is a lamp to our feet and and light to our path, it shows us where we are and where we are going. If we could build our habits of reading God's word we will continually discover the Love and purpose He has for each and everyone of us. There are so many opinions and deceiving thoughts out there for us to read into, things that can distract us, leave us feeling lost and causing us to stray from the path God has for us, let's learn how important it is to constantly be in God's word throughout our days. We look at scriptures Psalm 119:105, Matthew 4:1-11, and 2 Timothy 3:13-17.
This week we start the series Habits. Wether good or bad we all have habits and even the smallest of habits can make big impacts in our lives. There is a system for us to help us reach healthy lifestyles in response to good habits in our lives. This system starts with prayer. Having a conversation with God is monumental for our lives, it is a vital organ for the body of the church. We have a powerful loving God that wants us to be personal with our prayers, wants us to prioritize our prayers, and shows us the importance to put prayer into practice. We study the scriptures Mark 1:35-37, 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18, Philippians 4:6-7, and 1 John 5:14-15.
This Easter we looked at the resurrection of Jesus and what the mission of a follower of Jesus consist of. There is a celebration to be had in response to the fulfillment of the death and resurrection of Jesus. We are called to be disciples, that make disciples, that make disciples. Who are we doing life with?! we look at scriptures Luke 23:50-56, Luke 24:1-12, Matthew 28:18-20, Colossians 2:6-10 and Colossians 2:12-14.
This is the very first Lanterns Church Good Friday Service! We look at the act of love through the surrendering of Jesus' Body up to the cross and on the cross for us, for the world. What does this mean to us and our lives? Have we surrendered our lives to our God the redeemer, the powerful, the King of all? Through Faith we can receive salvation in response to an innocent Jesus that died for a guilty people. We discuss scriptures Luke 23:32-47.
This is the 7th week of our series Journey To Jerusalem. As we take a close look at Jesus as He enters Jerusalem and people are worshipping Him, we see in scripture that there are many ways we can Worship God. How are we with obedience, generosity, praise, suffering, confronting evil? How are we loving Jesus in response of the love He so has for us? We discuss scriptures Luke 19:28-48.
This is week 6 of our series Journey to Jerusalem. Remember as a young child the hope, excitement, humility, vulnerableness, and dependence on others while we were being raised? we are called to seek out the ultimate parent of all time, God the Father. We look at how a notorious sinner in a relationship with God radically changes. Zacchaeus a man with small stature and big riches goes the distance to see Jesus and it changes the way he walks and talks from that point forward. What does this mean for us and our actions? Do we have a childlike faith? We look at the scriptures Luke 18:16-17, Luke 19:1-10, and Revelation 3:20-21.
This is week 5 of our series Journey To Jerusalem! Jesus continues to teach as he travels to Jerusalem. We see that we should not temp people causing them to fall and stumble. We are called to hold each other accountable by lovingly rebuking, encouraging one another to take up the privilege to repent and repaying people with forgiveness in response to God's forgiveness for us. We take a close look at the scriptures in Luke 17:1-19 while referencing all of Luke 16 and 17.
In our 4th week of our series Journey To Jerusalem we look at the different situations of being lost. There is a difference in being lost and being found. The is a plan for us to know we are not alone, the we are worthy because of God and who God says we are. there is a way for you to be more known and more found then you have ever felt before. we study the parables in Luke 15, The Lost Sheep, The Lost Coin, and The Lost Son.
This is week 3 of our series Journey To Jerusalem. Many times in life we are given warnings and chances to take a path for the better and yet at times we decide to ignore the warning and look past the new chance to make a change and we find ourselves full of worry. There is a path we can take for an ultimate change, a renewal for a healing forgiveness and a purpose worth living for. We look at many of the scriptures in Luke chapter 12 and 13.
Our Second week of Journey To Jerusalem focuses on how we can look past distractions and focus on our destinations. It is common that many of us fall into a list of distractions that prevent us on focusing on things that matter most. There is a plan for us to put teachings into practice. One practice we dive into is the practice of persistent prayer and how that helps align us and stay on track to the destination that is intended for us through our relationship with God. we go over scriptures Luke 10:2, Luke 10:20-21, Luke 10:38-42, Luke 11:1-11, Luke 11:23-28.
This is week 1 of our series Journey To Jerusalem. In this message we talk about the journeys we take in our lives and how it is a process. The ultimate journey that is available to each and everyone one of us is the Journey to walk with God, and we look at what Jesus teaches us about truly following Him and the call on our lives as we walk out our lives here on earth. Even when we feel like we don't have a lot to offer at times remember through Jesus it can be turned into more than enough. We read most of the scriptures in Luke 9:10-62.

To discover this purpose we must humble ourselves and press in towards Jesus with our lives. We see people with struggles from all situations even times from our upbringings and times of illnesses. These situations can be worked through with God the King of all. We can then use our testimonies from what God carried us through to be glorifying in the present, helping people to discover a future that is promised for them through God. We look at the scriptures Luke 8:40-56 Luke 9:62 and Mark 5:25-26.

God so loves us He wants us to focus on our relationship with Him. As we discover His love for us, it helps us desire to have a deep respect and love for God. This is week 4 of our series Mission Minded. We see in the teachings of Jesus, we are referred to as trees that will produce good fruits or trees that produce bad fruits. Would you choose to eat a rotten fruit over a good fruit? would you invest money into a house with a really bad foundation? why as humans do we sometimes make choices like this with our souls? What foundation we build our lives on matters, listen in as we discuss and discover the mission, the purpose God has for our lives. We go over scripture in Luke 6:43-49.
Week 3 of Mission Minded we explore the importance of silence and solitude. During the public ministry of Jesus He often went out into a quiet place to spend time in prayer. Jesus calls us to follow Him if we are going to be mission minded, we must desire a place where we can find silence and a time when we can rest in solitude with God the creator of all. We look at scriptures Luke 5:15-16 and Psalm 62:1-2.
This is week 2 of Mission Minded! Not every plan of our own goes the way we thought it would, but God's plan is a plan that we can depend on and trust in. We see Jesus continue to show us the mission and the proof that this plan and purpose for our lives is important. This helps us look less at our own plans and leads us to be mission minded with the plan laid out by God. A plan that will invite many others to hear and trust in the good news! we look at scriptures Luke 4:42-43 and Luke 5:1-11.
This is the kick off to our new series Mission Minded. Through the first 9 chapters of the Gospel of Luke it is very clear the mission of Jesus and how He is very Mission Minded throughout His public ministry. This week we focus on how we can look pass temptation and focus on Jesus and the mission He has for us. We are called to live a life on mission. We dive into scriptures Luke 3:21-22 and Luke 4:1-13 and Luke 4:18-21.
Out with the old, in with the new! There is a renewal made available to anyone that turns to God. When facing changes things can feel uncomfortable but we can walk through seasons of change with the help of the Spirit. We take a look at the changes made in the life of Apostle Paul and how God the farther, Son and Holy Spirit can be the ultimate comforter of our lives as we are renewed. We look at Acts 9:3-9 and Ephesians 4:21-30.
We conclude our series The Characters of Christmas with our fourth week titled "The Way." There is a way prepared for all of us to receive the ultimate gift. We look at how John the Baptist prepared the way and Jesus Christ is the way. This season we look at real historical people and their encounter with God and the characteristics they had while doing so. We learn about John and his ministry to show people how to truly discover a relationship with God through repentance. We study scripture verses Luke 3:2-16, John 14:16, Ephesians 2:4-10, and Luke 7:24-30.
We are in our third week of The Characters Of Christmas! We ask the question, whose kingdom are we building? We look at the Wise Men that support the Kingdom of God and the coming of our Messiah. We also look at Herod and how he has focussed on building his own kingdom and tries to stop the building of God's Kingdom. When we ourselves seek God and His kingdom first, it over pours into our lives and the lives around us, our families, our friends, and our neighbors. We look at the scripture verses in Matthew 2:1-16.
This is our second week of our series The Characters Of Christmas! All in God's timing the world is invited to know Jesus and His love. From the outcasted Shepards to the devoted Simeon that was aging while eagerly waiting for the savior of his people, God has a plan and invites us to align with it and a lot of the time it calls for patience, but this plan that redeems us is a game changer and impacts our eternity! We discuss the scripture verses in Luke 2:8-35.
Week one of our series The Characters Of Christmas! We take a close look at the Character traits of real historical people like Zachariah and Marry when they are encountered by an angel named Gabriel with God's plan and purpose for them. We talk about faith and doubt, and the hopes to better respond through situations in our lives with trust and obedience. We cover most of the scripture in Luke 1:1-66.
As we conclude our 5 week series of One Another we explore the importance of addressing one another with psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs. We also uncover the value of being thankful at all times. The scripture we dive into is Ephesians 5:15-20.
Week 4 in our series One Another we discuss the importance of building one another up and not causing one another to stumble. We also focus in on our calling to live in Harmony with each other. We ask the question... What could we give up that we like, to help people move towards the God we love? We look at scriptures like Romans 12:16, Romans 14:13-21, and Philippians 2:3.
This was week 3 of our One Another series! We disccussed that through the freedom we have, what we do with that freedom matters. With freedom will we do things that could devour and destroy one another or will we love one another while carrying out the calling on our lives as the church to serve one other? We ask ourselves who could we be serving more? We look at scriptures like Galatians 5:13-15, John 13:1-15, and Matthew 20:28.
In Week 2 of our One Another series we continue to look at more commands to carry out to better love one another as the church. We see how we are to help restore one another like a broken bone, there is a proper healthy way of doing this. We focus on how to carry one another's burdens in sin, how to confess to one another, and the importance of forgiving one another. We open up to scriptures like Galatians 6:1-3, Matthew 18:15-35, Ephesians 4:30-32, and James 5:16.
This talk is the first of our 5 week series "One Another." There is approximately 59 commands in the New Testament guiding us how we should live with one another and love one another, while striving to be devoted to one another as a church family. We take a look at scriptures like John 13:34-35, Matthew 5:46-47, and Acts 2:42-47.
This message we take time to dive into our third Core Value, Love Discipleship. We have all had teachers, mentors, or coaches in our lives to help us with things. It is a must we have these positions filled for our spiritual lives as well! There is a calling on our lives to be disciples, that make disciples, that make disciples. We focus on scripture verses in Matthew 28:18-20 and Romans 10:13-15.
This message shows us the importance to love one another. We look at Luke 10:25-37 and 1 Corinthians 13:1-7 to understand we are called to love people and even taught what a Godly love looks like and how all things should be done with this love. Understanding this we can see the call to reach out to our city and to all ends of the earth.
This message we talked about the more we know God's love for us, the more we will also love Him in return. We also explained how sometimes we need to learn to love some things less so we can love Jesus more. A core value at Lanterns church is to "Love God."
This message is about the Light Of The World. We discuss John 8:12 and Matthew 5:14-16. As we understand who God is we learn who we are called to be as followers of Christ. There is a light that is available to all of us who put our trust in Jesus as our Lord and believe in our hearts that He died and rose again for us.
