Dimple explains how an unhealthy gut can trigger not only physical diseases like skin issues, hormonal imbalances, and chronic ailments but also emotional disturbances such as anxiety and depression. Drawing from Ayurvedic wisdom, she emphasizes fasting, plant-based diets, and circadian alignment as ways to restore gut harmony and enhance mental clarity. The dialogue also covers how digital distractions, tamasic foods, and modern lifestyles weaken our inner balance, while satvik living, mindful eating, early rising, and spiritual practices can elevate vibrational frequency, intuition, and overall well-being. The episode ends with practical daily tips for students to cultivate gut health, discipline, and gratitude, connecting physical nourishment to spiritual evolution.
The podcast captures the remarkable journey of Dimple Jangda, an investment banker turned Ayurvedic health coach, who overcame serious health challenges, including epilepsy, migraines, insomnia, and cancer scares, through Ayurveda and preventive healthcare. Her story highlights the power of food as medicine, the dangers of processed and genetically modified foods, and the critical role of gut health in preventing and reversing chronic diseases like PCOS, thyroid disorders, and infertility. With a blend of personal experience, modern research, and ancient wisdom, Dimple emphasizes empowering individuals, especially women and children through conscious food choices, lifestyle changes, and preventive practices like panchakarma, thereby inspiring holistic healing and long-term wellness.
Dimple Jangda shares how Ayurveda views gut health as the foundation of overall well-being, warning against wrong food combinations like dairy with fruits that can damage the gut and lead to chronic diseases. She emphasizes preventive healthcare through mindful eating, aligning routines with natural body clocks, and choosing natural alternatives like coconut or almond milk. Blending her personal health journey with Ayurvedic principles, she highlights the importance of repairing the gut, balancing Kapha, Pitta, and Vata, and making health, not wealth, the true priority for a long, happy, and disease-free life.
This podcast episode with Dimple Jangda and Priyanka Raina dives deep into the concept of gut health as the “second brain” and how it influences digestion, mood, immunity, skin, and overall well-being. Through the lens of Ayurveda, Dimple explains how factors like birth method, diet, food combinations, lifestyle, and postpartum care shape both children’s and mothers’ health. She shares practical advice on managing common gut issues, building strong immunity in kids, preventing skin and autoimmune disorders, and resetting family health with Ayurveda’s three pillars -nutrition, sleep, and movement. Packed with natural remedies, food tips, and self-care wisdom, this episode offers simple, actionable steps for moms, families, and anyone seeking lasting wellness.
This podcast with Dimple Jangda explores the root causes of chronic lifestyle diseases and the power of natural healing. She explains that over 90% of illnesses stem from poor gut and colon health, aggravated by processed foods, animal-based products, and overuse of antibiotics. According to her, the path to recovery lies in a whole-food, plant-based diet rich in fresh fruits, vegetables, legumes, and nuts, what she calls “live foods” full of prana and high vibrational energy. In contrast, processed and animal foods are “dead foods” that poison the body and trigger disease. She highlights the importance of fasting - intermittent, fruit, and even extended water fasts as a way to rest the gut, regenerate immunity, and even destroy cancer cells through autophagy. Practical advice includes eating within an 8-hour window, making lunch the largest meal, keeping dinners light, soaking and cooking foods properly, and never mixing incompatible food groups like fruits with dairy or grains. Real-life success stories ranging from reversing thyroid, obesity and PCOD to curing IBS and diabetes demonstrate how discipline, diet, and gratitude can transform health. Her closing message emphasizes living in harmony with nature, practicing fasting and preventive care, and embracing a plant-based lifestyle to achieve long-lasting health, happiness, and vitality.
In this episode of A Gut Story, host Dimple Jangda speaks with Kunal Jai Singh about the ancient wisdom and modern relevance of Ayurveda. The conversation traces Ayurveda’s mythological origins, its foundation on the five elements and three doshas - Kapha, Pitta, and Vata and its holistic approach to preventive health. They discuss the central role of digestion and gut health, the detoxifying practice of Panchakarma, and the dangers of wrong food combinations that lead to disease. The dialogue also emphasizes using the five senses while eating, the power of circadian rhythm, pranayama, chanting, and journaling for mental health. Practical tips for hair, skin, heart, lungs, and colon care are shared, while a deeper spiritual message encourages listeners to live with purpose, compassion, and balance.
In this episode of A Gut Story, gut health expert and author Dimple Jangda with Shreya Ghodawat shares her holistic approach to digestive wellness, blending Ayurveda, naturopathy, homeopathy, and modern medicine. She stresses that gut health goes beyond probiotics and fad diets, encompassing lifestyle, circadian rhythms, food combinations, and mindful eating. Dimple warns against the overuse of antibiotics and painkillers, which damage the microbiome, increase infertility and heart risks, and suppress the body’s natural signals. She criticizes processed foods, refined flours, and long-shelf-life products for introducing preservatives and microplastics that disrupt digestion and contribute to chronic illness. Instead, she advocates a whole food plant-based diet rich in farm-to-table fruits, vegetables, legumes, nuts, seeds, whole grains, and millets, while avoiding dairy, meat, and packaged items. She recommends eating within an 8–10 hour window, preferring warm, cooked meals like soups, and avoiding water during meals to preserve digestive fire. Ayurvedic practices such as pranayama, proper sleep cycles, and detox routines like Panchakarma are central to her approach, along with gut-healing ingredients like jaggery, cumin, fennel, stewed fruits, and coconut milk. Dimple explains that plant-based living can improve digestion, sleep, energy, mood, and creativity, while integrating Ayurveda’s personalized care with modern medicine’s diagnostics provides the best of both worlds. For her, sustainability means caring for one’s health without harming the environment or others, minimizing one’s carbon footprint, and making ethical choices.
In this insightful episode of Gut Story, Dr. Vignesh Devraj explains how modern diseases like diabetes, fatty liver, and hormonal imbalances are rooted in overconsumption, not malnourishment. Ayurveda classifies diseases into two types — those from deficiency (Apatharpana) and those from excess (Santharpana). With the world now facing abundance-related illnesses, Panchakarma becomes a vital therapy for detoxification.
Dr. Vignesh breaks down the five Panchakarma therapies:
He warns against DIY detox trends like unsupervised enemas, which can harm gut health and increase Vata imbalance. Panchakarma, when done correctly under supervision, can improve conditions such as PCOS, arthritis, IBS, migraines, asthma, and even fertility issues.
The discussion emphasizes that health is a lifestyle, not a one-time treatment. Panchakarma acts as a reset button—helping individuals reconnect with their bodies, improve discipline, and build long-term well-being. Mental health, food habits, and physical activity all play critical roles in maintaining balance.
The speaker, Dimple Jangda, discusses her journey from being an investment banker to becoming a health and wellness expert, focusing on Ayurveda and natural sciences. She shares her personal story of overcoming abuse and finding purpose in helping others achieve good health. Dimple explains the concept of manifestation and the importance of being careful what you wish for, as everything comes with a price. She also talks about the benefits of a whole food plant-based diet and the negative effects of consuming meat and dairy products.
Dimple shares a success story of a couple who came to her clinic for treatment and were able to conceive after following her advice. She explains the concept of Panchakarma treatment and the importance of detoxification in removing physical toxins from the body. Dimple also discusses the impact of thoughts on health and disease, and how intentions can shape our reality.
The conversation also touches on the topic of lactose intolerance and how it is not just a matter of lacking a certain enzyme, but also related to our disconnection from nature and the bacteria in our gut. Dimple explains the concept of doshas in Ayurveda and how they relate to our unique biological blueprint. She also discusses the importance of self-love and self-care in achieving overall well-being.
Dimple shares her vision for making Ayurveda a global phenomenon and a household practice. She emphasizes the importance of preserving Indian heritage and traditional knowledge for future generations. The conversation concludes with a discussion on the power of sound and vibration in experiencing divinity and connecting with the universe.
The speaker, Dimple Jangda, discusses the importance of healthy living and introduces her guest, Dr. Radhakrishnan Pillai, who has studied Chanakya's teachings for 24 years. Dr. Pillai shares his insights on Chanakya's views on food, women empowerment, and time management. He emphasizes the significance of food in Indian culture and it's connection to spirituality, citing the example of the king's plate being a display of the kingdom's food. Dr. Pillai also highlights the importance of women empowerment, quoting Chanakya's statement that "the queen is already made, the king has to be trained". Additionally, he shares his approach to time management, which involves prioritizing family time and being flexible with schedules. The conversation concludes with Dr. Pillai's advice to the youth, emphasizing the importance of continuous learning, humility, and having a mentor.

Crying has often been overlooked in the glorious light that romance enjoys in Bollywood. But let's change that narrative. It's okay to cry; it's beautiful, it's strengthening. Hi, I'm Dr. Dimple, your podcast host, and welcome back to "A Gut Story." This is not just a podcast; it's a platform where we discuss everything healthy – body, mind, emotions, energetics, and spirituality."
In our last episode, I had the pleasure of hosting the remarkable Dr. Aditi Govitrikar, where we explored the delicate balance between motherhood and self-care, journeyed through her personal struggles, and discovered the transformative power of Vipassana meditation. Today, we continue that enlightening conversation.
Aditi shared her challenging journey of motherhood, particularly with her second child, which became a turning point in her quest for balance. Witnessing her son's fight for life while battling personal crises herself led her to reassess her life's priorities. She found solace and clarity through Vipassana meditation, which she embraced during this tumultuous period.
Reflecting on her 12-year journey since then, Aditi highlights the importance of making tough decisions and accepting moments of defeat gracefully. We also discuss the cathartic nature of crying, the significance of setting boundaries, and the power of interpersonal communication in fostering emotional well-being.
Her insights remind us that obstacles and pain are inevitable in life, but how we respond to them determines our growth and resilience. She shares her strategies for maintaining mental clarity in today's fast-paced, digitally driven world, emphasizing the importance of mindful technology use.
As Aditi continues her academic pursuits, including a Master's program at Harvard University, she remains committed to spreading wellness and happiness to others. Through workshops, corporate training, and advocacy for mental health awareness, she seeks to dismantle the stigma surrounding seeking therapy and promote holistic well-being.
We also explore the profound mind-body connection and her holistic approach to life, integrating her medical background with practices like yoga and Ayurveda. Her journey as a mother has enriched her understanding of human nature, with her children serving as constant sources of inspiration and learning.
Join us as we delve deeper into the mind-body connection, challenge societal norms, and embrace holistic wellness. Remember, true happiness begins from within.

In today’s podcast, Dr. Dimple and Dr. Mickey cover a lot of interesting topics, which indicate things that didn’t exist before but now have such a huge impact on human beings.
Intro
Did you know that excess protein consumption wasn’t traditionally common for humans? Our ancestors primarily relied on a balanced diet, emphasizing a mix of protein, carbohydrates, and fats from natural sources. Modern diets with excessive protein can strain the kidneys and may lead to health issues, deviating from historical eating patterns. (1:01)
Food is information, and it contributes to not just physical but also mental and emotional levels. We have evolved as human beings. In ancient times, humans were predominantly carnivores, relying on hunting for survival. Our ancestors' diets were shaped by the availability of animal protein, essential for energy and sustenance in challenging environments. However, with the advent of agriculture and farming, there has been a significant shift. The growth of plant-based cultivation led to a more diversified and accessible food supply (1:14).
The idea that eating less can bring more consciousness is rooted in various philosophical and spiritual traditions, including practices like mindful eating and intermittent fasting. A balanced and mindful approach to eating is often encouraged for overall well-being. It is very important to break free from the trap of gluttony and overeating, and adopting mindful eating practices, understanding emotional triggers, and making informed food choices are essential (2:49).
Have you ever wondered why our ancestors never knew of gluten intolerance and lactose intolerance?
The factors could be:
- Modern wheat varieties developed for high yield and disease resistance often differ from ancestral wheat varieties.
- The industrial processing of wheat into refined flour and the widespread use of additives in food production have altered the characteristics of wheat-based products. These changes might impact how the immune system responds to gluten proteins.
- The use of pesticides and synthetic fertilizers in modern agriculture could introduce environmental factors that influence the composition of crops, potentially impacting gluten content or triggering sensitivities. (3:33)
However, the key aspects of how milk is modified by agricultural and technological practices to serve the demands of growing population could be:
- Genetic advancements contribute to higher productivity in dairy animals.
- Modern farming practices include optimized feeding regimes, often with a mix of grains, forages, and supplements to support the health and productivity of the animals.
- Some dairy farming practices involve the use of hormones and growth promoters to enhance milk production (4:08).
It is important to understand that breathing in yoga is a dynamic, continuous process involving both inhalation and exhalation. The emphasis on exhalation in yoga is highlighted for several reasons, like detoxification, relaxation, and calming, improved lung capacity and mind-body connection (7:34)

Today on the ‘Gut Story’, Sonnalli Seygall and Dr. Dimple discuss the importance of gut health and various other topics as follows-
Intro
Colonial rule in India, particularly under the British, had a significant impact on traditional practices like Ayurveda. Several factors contributed to the decline in prominence of Ayurveda, like-
🌱Western medical promotion: the British established institutions that promoted Western medical practices, often at the expense of traditional systems like Ayurveda
🌱Regulatory measures: The British introduced regulations and policies that marginalized traditional systems where the emphasis on Western education and certification created barriers for practitioners of Ayurveda
🌱Cultural and intellectual bias: The colonial mindset often viewed Western knowledge as superior (3:13)
Less than 3 percent of Americans have a healthy lifestyle. Pharmaceutical advertisements in the United States often aim to promote medications, and they may highlight the benefits of a drug in treating a specific condition with a number of side effects. Sometimes, the presentation may disproportionately emphasize positive aspects, potentially giving a misleading impression (5:29)
Regular bowel movements are important in eliminating waste and toxins from the body and preventing the buildup of harmful substances and diseases (8:20)
What made Dr. Dimple take a sabbatical and quit her job to discover her ikigai? (12: 24)
Sonnalliexpresses her journey that got her and her husband to believe in Ayurveda and how it grew on her (13:04)
Impact of drug testing by pharmaceutical companies on people (16:45)

In today’s episode, we are joined by Poppy Jabbal, and she is going to share with us her journey to good gut health. Her journey includes how she was not able to identify the root cause of the problem to how she has included Ayurveda in her daily life which doesn’t just treat the symptoms but takes care of the diseases at grass-root level.

We are going to deep dive in and understand how beautifully Astrology, Ayurveda and Kundalini Yoga is inter-connected.
