Jesus raises Lazarus from the dead! Boom! And super big surprise, the Pharisees try to up their murder plotting game by taking the matter to the Sanhedrin.
Jesus uses the metaphor of the Good Sheppard to demonstrate that he is the only way to have a relationship with God. He identifies the characteristics of his sheep, and the trait of the "thieves and robbers". He is confronted by the Pharisees, once again, yet many still believe in him.
We dive into John 6, where Jesus feeds five thousand people and explains to his disciples that he is the bread of life. Also, Jesus walks on water and his disciples are amazed that he truly is the Son of God.
In this episode, we meet a man who is unable to walk sitting by the pool of Bethesda, waiting for a healing; we see Jesus offer this man more than just a physical healing and upon witnessing the miracle of this man standing and walking, Jesus's authority to heal is challenged by a group of religious leaders.
Within 2 minutes, we ask ourself a deep question about our faith; Are we metering the Holy Spirit in our daily lives?
In this chapter, Jesus speaks to a Samaritan woman who is drawing water from a well. Here, he reveals that he offers "living water", the only kind that can truly satisfy her thirst for more in this life. He also heals an official's son, causing a chain reaction of people believing in Jesus.
Nicodemus, a pharisee and teacher, approaches Jesus by night to ask him questions, which leads to an intriguing conversation about spiritual rebirth. Also, we drop into a discussion that followers of John the Baptist are having about baptism, and hear what John himself has to say about the matter.
Jesus performs an amazing sign by turning water into wine at the wedding in Cana and he displays a passion for God's house by clearing the temple in Jerusalem.
This week we attempt our first ever podcast! A chapter by chapter Bible study in the book of John; this week, we tackle Chapter 1, a particularly full chapter. With three parts, we dive the deepest into the prologue as it answers so many questions about who God is, who Jesus is, what is the Word, and what is God's great plan for salvation. The purpose of our podcast is to exemplify the fact that anyone can study the Bible, as God speaks to us all through His Word.
