The book of 1 Kings provides an account of the death of David, the reign of his son Solomon, the decline and division of the Kingdom of Israel after Solomon and many of his successors turned to idol worship. It also recounts the ministry of the prophet Elijah among the northern ten tribes of Israel.

Most at times, I hear phrases like, I don’t have anything to offer, I don’t have anything to contribute, I don’t have anything to give you etc. Today’s gospel is for people that always make these kinds of statement. Jesus wants us to understand that no matter the situation we find ourselves in, no matter how bad it is, once we as still breathing we still have something to offer.
In those days nobody was more deprived, overlooked and ignore by the society than a widow but yet the widow in today’s gospel gave the all and the little she had. Today’s gospel is asking us this question: Are we ready to totally offer ourselves to God, to give not just everything we have but also our whole being to the service of the kingdom of God.
Let Us Pray: Lord Jesus I know now that it doesn’t matter the quantity of my service, what matter is the quality. Teach me how to totally abandon myself to your will.
While reading today’s gospel, I came across a passage that said Zacchaeus was the head of the tax collectors and the rich men which means he was a very rich man. Now, I tried imagining in our present generation, a rich man of his caliber climbing a tree. It’s almost impossible, who knows how many people were laughing at him while he was climbing the tree but he did it anyways. He humbled himself in the search of his salvation and his humility paid off because Jesus noticed him and his effort to repent and He saved not just him but also his household.
In the world today so many people are trying to live a just live but religions keep making it difficult for them. Today’s gospel invites us to acknowledge the struggles of other and become an encouragement to them.
Let Us Pray
Lord Jesus, for we novice and all the novice around the world who are in the process of living the Easter virginity, help us ignite love in a heart that has be deprived of love, teach us how to turn affection into salvation just like you did with Zacchaeus.
Durante la mia lettura del vangelo di oggi, mi sono imbattuto in un passaggio che diceva che Zaccheo fu il capo dei pubblicani ed e ricco. Ho provato ad immaginare nella nostra generazione attuale, un uomo ricco come Zaccheo in tutti sensi che si arrampica su un albero. È impossibile, chissà quante persone ridevano di lui mentre si arrampicava sul quell’albero ma l’ha fatto lo stesso. Si è umiliato nella ricerca della sua salvezza e la sua umiltà si trasforma alla salvezza perché Gesù ha notato lui e il suo sforzo di pentirsi e ha salvato non solo lui ma anche la sua casa.
Nel mondo di oggi tante persone stanno cercando di vivere una vita giusta, ma le religioni continuano a renderne difficile per loro. Il vangelo di oggi ci invita a riconoscere le lotte degli altri e a diventare per loro un incoraggiamento e non un ostacolo.

Signore Gesù, per noi novizi e per tutti i novizi nel mondo che stanno nel cammino verso la verginità pasquale, aiutaci ad accendere l'amore nei cuori che sono stati privati dell'amore, insegnaci come trasformare l'affetto in salvezza proprio come hai fatto con Zaccheo.
In the time of Jesus, today’s gospel was addressed to the Pharisees but today this gospel is addressed to us Christians. We believe we have the key to paradise, we believe our canon is the best, we believe we are on the right; we believe we are closer to God than another person but we forget that the intention of the father is to save everybody. We forget that the word was made flesh; He walked amongst us, taught us the way of the father, died and was resurrected not for the salvation of just a few persons but of all mankind.
Let Us Pray: Lord Jesus, we don’t want to be too perfect that we become blind to the struggles of mankind, teach us to rejoice when a lost soul is found, ignite also in us the joy of mission.

In my reflection this morning, I was shocked by the fact that Jesus went up to the mountain, and spent the whole night praying, then in the morning, He called his disciples to himself, and from them he chose Twelve and then He came down with them and stood on a stretch of level ground in the midst of the crowd. Was He not tired after staying awake all night in prayer?
Of course He was, but they mission was too important to be delayed. Here Jesus teaches us to put the mission of salvation first before our personal need. He teaches us also to pray and work, He could have just said “I’ve prayed all night now let me go and sleep small, then when I wake up I will choose my twelve apostles and then we will go down together in the midst of the crowd. But He didn’t He jumped into action immediately after praying.
Let Us Pray: Lord Jesus, We Pavonians have understood that both prayer and work are so important for the mission that has been bestowed upon us. Teach us how to unite both realities just like you did whilst on earth.
This passage calls us to evict the placing of limits on God's abilities. Jesus rebukes the synagogue leader for telling the crowd that there are six days of work and that they should come in those days to be healed, thus reducing the presence of God and His power to operate on the Sabbath day.
Jesus was against this because he wanted the religious leaders to stop making laws for God; He wanted them to stop inventing ways to maintain a good relationship with God, because He is the only way. He wanted them to stop building religious walls and start building religious bridges.
Let us pray: Lord Jesus, open our ears to your teachings, make the religious leaders of this generation to understand that you are the only way to lead us back to the father.
In Nigeria, today’s gospel is very popular amongst the policemen who would always stand on the road to collect bribes from drivers. If you tell them you are Christian and you would never give them bribe the will quote this verse for you, and tell you that even your Jesus says it’s better for you to settle your adversaries on the way before he takes you to the Judge. If you still refuse to give them money they will start looking into your document or searching your car in other to find a law you are breaking so that they would take you to the police station.
This was not what Jesus meant in today’s gospel rather He wanted the people of his generation to pay attention and live by the message. Jesus was trying to tell us to look up and heed to the signs that matters. He wanted us to stop ignoring the truth that is before us because ignorance will not be an excuse on the judgement day.
Let Us Pray: Lord Jesus, just as you tried to open the eyes of your generation to the change of seasons and times, open us eyes to the change that is needed in our generation. Make us an instrument of positive change and global development.
In my reflection today, I paused to reflect on this line: There is a baptism with which I must be baptized and how great is my anguish until it is accomplished! At the time of this talk Jesus had already been baptized by John the Baptist so what other baptism was he talking about? He was talking about his mission, the baptism of salvation that mankind would receive from his sacrifice. He was anxious and eager, I would even say in a hurry to complete His mission on the cross.
In the end he succeeded, because with his death, resurrection and coming of the Holy Spirit He brought salvation to the world and a fire was lit, first on his disciples in a particular way and then on others and then Christianity was born. To this day that fire He lit 2,000 years ago still burns in the world through the church. At baptism we all receive the mission to keep this fire of salvation blazing in our generation.
Let us pray: Lord Jesus, thank you for setting the earth ablaze with your life, death and resurrection, thank you for bringing salvation to humanity. Give us the strength to keep this fire burning, let this generation never succeed in putting out this fire of love and peace.
In my reflection today I was shocked by the fact that Jesus said He was sending these seventy-two disciples like lambs among wolves but instructed them not to carry anything. No money bag, No sack, No sandals, absolutely nothing! Not even a knife or a gun. How would they defend themselves from these wolves they would meet on their way? That was when I understood that Christ was not sending them to defend themselves or to defend Him but He was sending them to proclaim the Gospel with the method of peace.
His went forward to tell them not to force this good news upon anybody. He told them that whatever town they enter and they are welcomed, they were free to eat what is set before you, cure the sick in it and say to them, ‘The Kingdom of God is at hand for you. This obviously means that if a town does not accept them they should leave quietly.
Let us pray: Lord Jesus just as you taught your disciples, teach us also how to respect the decisions, wills and ideas of people. Teach us how to collaborate with the people around us notwithstanding there believes, culture, tradition, status, race etc. Amen
Today’s gospel opens our eyes to the fact that the life we live is a gift from God, a gift that should be shared with others. Just as Jesus was a gift from the father to the world for salvation of mankind and our founder father Pavoni was a gift from the father to we Pavonian for the education of the youth. So also we are called to be make our lives a gift for other, we are called to the service of good.
Whosoever decides to rest, eat, drink and be merry all year round just like the man in today’s gospel, does not deserve the gift of life.
Let us pray: Lord Jesus, you were gifted to us by your father and your life became a gift for our salvation. Make our life like yours, teach us how to become all for all.
Woe to you, scholars of the law! You have taken away the key of knowledge. You yourselves did not enter and you stopped those trying to enter.” This saying of Jesus today, invites me, invites us as we are on this part of faith to be careful what we teach the faithful tomorrow. We must learn to practice what we teach, we must learn to live and lead by example.
We should learn not to suppress the ideas of others; knowledge is a fountain that flow nonstop and everybody can drink from it. Let’s not be the novice, the religious brother, the priest, the educator, or the laity that will stand in front of this fountain of fresh knowledge to prevent others from drinking.
Let us Pray: Lord Jesus, help me to be someone who plants the tree of knowledge wherever I find myself and not someone who cuts it down.
Sometimes we become too religious that we begin to see everyone around us as unrighteous. The Pharisees would pay their tithes and remain faithful to the laws but they would pay no attention to the Love of God.
The scholars of the law on the other hand, were so self-righteous and they would always impose heavy laws and religious burdens on the people to carry, but they themselves would not care to lift one finger to touch to burdens. This was what Jesus was against in today’s gospel.
Let Us Pray: Lord Jesus, dissolve all the spirits of self-righteous and holier than thou mindset in me and open my heart to the peace that comes with humility. HUMBLE MY PRIDE! Amen.
In today’s Gospel Jesus was trying to teach us the importance of change, for the fact that something has always been done one way does not mean it should remain like that forever. There is room for change when a thing is no longer working. The Pharisees would clean their hands, legs and what not, yet their entire being remained filth. Jesus today, urges us to expand our mind and be open to a change of heart.
Let us pray: Lord, teach us to be open-minded to change and repentance. Teach us to accept others notwithstanding there social status, age, race and even religion. Above all, teach us to aspect our fellow Christian brethren, professing faith that are different from what we believe but still remain faithful to you through your son Jesus Christ. Amen.
In today’s gospel, I think Jesus was a little angry, He looked had the opportunity to look back at the Old Testament at how the people of Nineveh repented after hearing Jonah reluctant message and how the queen of Sheba honored Solomon with gifts for his wisdoms.
But they were finding it difficult to believe Him whose message was more power than that of Jonah and whose wisdom was far more, greater than that of Solomon.
In the light of today’s reflection, let us Prayer
God please help me to appreciate the price you son paid for me on the cross, open my eye to see the beauty of his word.
In my reflection today, I stopped to reflect on the disciple's request. One of Jesus' disciples asked him to teach him how to pray, and Jesus taught them to pray with a prayer. So this means that "Our Father" is a prayer and also a formula that Jesus wants us to apply every time we pray. How is this formula applied? I believe there are four ways to apply this formula in our prayer life: i. Our Father - call God by a name that is familiar to you, what is your relationship with God. Find it and take advantage of it. For example, Father Pavoni found his and called God, God-Providence. And God recognized this name and always answers him when he calls him by this name. ii. Hallowed be your name - after calling him by name, thank him iii. Your kingdom come - after thanking him, put his will before yours iv. Give us our daily bread every day - now go ahead and make your request. Jesus Master thank you for teaching us to pray, blessed be your name, in this religious journey we are making, give us a drink from your cup overflowing with wisdom. Amen.
In my reflection today, I was reflecting on what Jesus meant when he said "these things". What do these things mean? What are these things that were hidden from the wise and the learned? Booh! No lo so! ...But he gave me an option, He gave us an option. He said these things are revealed to the little ones, the English translation says to the children, so if I want to understand these things I have to make myself little, I have to be like a child. What it means to be like a child does not mean to be unconscious or ignorant but it means to be humble and simple.
In my prayer today, I asked God to make me more humble and simple, so that I can see these things hidden from the wise and the learned.
Nella mia riflessione oggi, mi sono ricordato un libro che mio zio mi ha fatto leggere quando ero con lui in Germania. Nella storia del Buon Samaritano, il libro diceva che l'uomo che scendeva da Gerusalemme a Gerico era Adamo. Il sacerdote era la legge, il levita i profeti e il samaritano era Cristo. L’albergo era la chiesa; l'albergatore era l'autorità della chiesa.
Adamo come sappiamo significa l’uomo, l’intera umanità. Lasciando il paradiso per andare nel mondo in questo libro significa peccare e il due denari che il samaritano ha tirato fuori sono il corpo e il sangue di Gesù, prezzo per i nostri peccati. Il ritorno promesso del Samaritano era una figura della seconda venuta di Cristo.
Cristo ci ha lasciato in buone mani e ha promesso di tornare per noi. È sempre pronto a pulire le nostre ferite; è sempre pronto ad aiutarci ma siamo pronti ad aiutare gli altri. Prego che Dio ci dia l'intuizione di essere un prossimo delle persone che ci circondano.
Gesù ha stabilito una triplice connessione nel vangelo di oggi, collegandomi a Lui e Lui stesso al padre. Questo mi ricorda il famoso detto: a chi molto si dà molto si aspetta. Attraverso questa connessione Gesù mi ha avvicinato al Padre, perché io possa diventare uno strumento per avvicinare gli altri a Dio.
In secondo luogo, ha detto che se qualcuno viene da noi, agendo in suo nome e noi rifiutiamo quella persona, allora in realtà stiamo rifiutando il padre in cielo, qui Gesù sta cercando di insegnarci come essere rispettosi verso gli altri. Dio potrebbe parlarci attraverso chiunque, quindi dovremmo imparare a non trascurare gli altri.
Chiedo che Dio ci dia l'umiltà di ascoltare gli altri e di capire che siamo strumenti di Dio.
Nella mia riflessione oggi, stavo riflettendo su ciò che Gesù disse a Natanaele: “Ecco davvero un Israelita in cui non c’è falsità. Questo mi ha fatto domandare cosa avrebbe detto Gesù di me oggi. Direbbe che sono un nigeriano in cui non c’è falsità, direbbe che sono stato fedele o no. Direbbe che ho fatto le cose giuste per le ragioni sbagliate e le cose sbagliate per le ragioni giuste? Cosa direbbe? Mi chiamerebbe un vero figlio di Dio o un falso figlio di Dio? Cosa sarebbe?
Come celebriamo questi arcangeli oggi, prego che mi rivelino le secreti di Dio, che mi curino la menta dall’ogni malvagità, che mi guidino e rivelino esattamente ciò che Dio vuole che io faccia.
Il vangelo di oggi mi ha fatto una domanda, la domanda è: quanto sono pronto a seguire Gesù? Sono disposto a seguirlo anche se questo significa non avere un tetto sopra la testa? Sono disposto a seguirlo anche se questo significa stare lontano dai miei cari? Sono pronto a seguirlo senza voltarmi indietro?
Mi sono risposto “Sì”. Almeno ho lasciato la mia carriera musicale, ho smesso di viaggiare con i famosi suonando per loro per guadagnare abbastanza soldi e mi sono messo sotto la dipendenza del mio superiore. Sono lontano dalla mia famiglia, e ci tengo davvero di questo cammino che sto facendo con Gesù, ma fine quando posso resistere, la posso fare da solo fine al fine.
Certo che non la posso fare da solo, ho bisogno il grazie di Dio. Come dice sempre il nostro superiore generale “a Dio piacendo ce la faccio” Chiedo il grazie di Dio e la forza di continuare a perseverare. Non voglio arrendermi, non voglio mollare a certo punto. Chiedo che mi rinforzi la mia passione per seguirlo fino alla fine.
Capisco come Giacomo e Giovanni sentivano e perché volevano che l'ira di Dio scendesse su quel villaggio. Noi esseri umani siamo destinati a sentirci male quando affrontiamo tale rifiuto ed avvolte rispondiamo con la violenza. Se Gesù dovesse mandare fuoco su tutti coloro che lo rifiutano, non credo che resterà nessuno da salvare. Tutta l'antica Israele sarebbe stata data alle fiamme.
Nel vangelo di oggi, Gesù con un semplice rimprovero insegna ai suoi discepoli pazienza, tolleranza e umiltà. Chiedo che Dio ci dia la forza di capire che tutto non ci ruota. Tutti non devono vincere. Tutti non devono dirci di sì, non è stabilito che dobbiamo per forza ottenere tutto ciò che vogliamo o desideriamo perché è solo quando capiamo queste cose che possiamo vivere in armonia in questo mondo.

Korah, Dathan and Abiram rose against Moses and Aaron. Moses told them that in the morning the Lord will show who belongs to him and who is holy. In the morning the ground swallowed up they opposition and their households.
God gave them instructions on what to do when they enter the new land; one was that there is one law for them and for the strangers to bring offerings. Anyone who sins defiantly shall be cut off, just as the Sabbath-Breaker was stoned to death outside the camp
After believing the false report from the other spies, the people grumbled against Moses and Aaron, and even tried to stone them. The LORD was disappointed with their action and told them they would spend forty years in the wilderness. They went up to the land but were defeated.
God commanded Moses to send 12 men, each from the twelve tribes of Israel to spy out the land of Canaan. Caleb returned with good news but the others said that the inhabitants were too strong.
Moses was challenged by Miriam and Aaron. Miriam became leprous as a result of the LORD's wrath. Moses prayed, and after seven days she returned, the people left Hazeroth and camped in the Desert of Paran.
The people got tired of eating only manner and grumbled that they had no meat. The LORD was angry but he sent quails. He put his Spirit on seventy elders to help Moses
Here the Lord instructed Moses to make two silver trumpets to direct the congregation. In the second month the cloud lifted and they set out as the LORD had commanded.
Here we learnt that in the first month of the second year the Israelites kept the Passover and that whenever the cloud lifted from the tabernacle they journeyed but if it doesn’t the stay put until it does.
The Levites were to be presented as a wave offering to the LORD and atonement should be made for them. The LORD said He had set them apart to serve at the tent of meeting.
In a sequence of twelve days, the leaders of each tribe brought a grain offering, a burnt offering, a sin offering and peace offerings for the dedication of the Tabernacle. Moses entered into the tents of meeting and spoke with the LORD.
This chapter tells us what anyone who wants to undergo the Nazirite Vow must and must not do. God through Moses gave Aaron instructions on how to bless His people.
if anyone sins they shall make full restitution, add a fifth of the value to it and give it all to the person they have wronged. If a man suspects his wife of unfaithfulness he shall take her to the priest.
The Kohathites were to carry the most holy things, the Gershonites were to carry the coverings while the Merarites were to carry the frame.
The Levites were to assist Aaron. The Lord said He had taken them in place of every firstborn of Israel. The number of Levites over one month old was 22,000.
The LORD told Moses that the Israelites shall camp around the tabernacle: Judah to the east, Ephraim to the west, Dan to the north and Reuben to the south.
Moses was given the task of counting the Israelite troops by the LORD. There were 603,550 men over the age of twenty in the population. The Levites were left out of the count.
Valuation and validation for anyone who wants to dedicate a person or land to the LORD. A tithe of everything from the land surely belongs to the LORD.
The lord promised the Israelites that if they kept His laws He will give them peace and make them fruitful but if they don’t He will scatter them, but He would never break His covenant with them.
The earth shall rest every seventh year. Every fifty years shall be a year of jubilee, during which property will be returned and slaves will be freed.
Aaron was to make sure the lamps in the tent of meeting never runs out, and must set out the bread before the LORD. An Israelite blasphemed and they took him outside the camp and stoned him.
In this chapter, the Sabbath, Passover, Unleavened Bread, First Fruits, The Festival of Weeks, the Day of Trumpets, the Day of Atonement and Booths were all Proclaim as feasts.
If a priest is unclean, he is not permitted to eat the offerings. Outsiders are not allowed to eat the sacrifices. The animals that are offered must be defect-free.
A priest can only marry a virgin and cannot become unclean in the process. Any descendant of Aaron who has a deficit is not permitted to make an offering.
Anyone who worships Molech, curses their parents, anyone who commits adultery, or has sexual relations with a man will perish.
Live a holy life. Observe my Sabbaths. Don't look to idols for guidance. As much as you love yourself, you should also love your neighbor. Mixing livestock is to be avoided. Don't do anyone any harm. I am the LORD of hosts.
Don't have intercourse with a family member, a woman on her period, your next-door neighbor's wife, another man, or an animal. These things defile the land.
Anyone who kills an animal without bringing a sacrifice is sinful. Life is in the blood, which I have sacrificed to make amends.
Aaron is to make atonement for the people once a year. One goat will be brought as a sin offering, while another will be released as a scapegoat.
When a man discharges he is unclean and so is everything he touches. when a man ejaculates he becomes unclean untill evening. when a woman has her period she is unclean as well.
If anyone is healed of leprosy they shall shave their hair and bring offering to the lord. If the house has mildews the priest shall inspect it.
The measures to be taken for defiling skin diseases were discussed. if anyone had leprosy the priest must declare them unclean they shall be isolated and their garmants shall be burnt. instructions on fabrics with molds were given.
The LORD instituited the purification pratices and offerings to be done after a woman puts to birth. The circumcision of a male child on the eight day was confirmed.
The Lord declared anything that touches the carcass as unclean. He gave regulations on clean and unclean food.
Nadab and Abihu offered unauthorized fire to the Lord, fire consumed them and they died. Aaron remained silent for the death of his sons, then him and his other sons stayed in the tabernacle.
The priests began their ministry presenting the sin, the burnt and the fellowship offerings on the 8th day. Aaron blessed them and the glory of the lord appeared and fire consumed their offerings.

The people gave more than enough for the building of the tabernacle and the craftsmen were summoned.
Yes I am just Purple Biro but believe me when I say Jesus of Nazareth was not a Christian but there would be no Christianity without him.
He was a Jew but not just like every other Jewish teacher. He started his ministry in Capernaum after his baptism. He was never against the Judaic religion but he only kicked against some of her teachings. He inserted the love for humanity into time. He gained a prestigious following as a teacher, messianic claimant and a faith healer.
When his teachings and following were perceived as treat he was crucified but that didn’t stop his ministry. His teachings revolutionized the heart of humanity to the extent that we had to divide our existence into two, counting backwards before his birth and upwards from when he was born.
Three days after his death, Jesus’ apostles proclaimed that he has been resurrected and would one day return and thus began Christianity. Therefore, I would not be wrong if I said Christianity came to life as a movement to keep watch for the return of Jesus by continuously being like and remembering him and his teachers in our day to day activities.
In hand with the will of Jesus his apostle Peter continued the leadership of his ministry. Well what do I know am just a pen!
The LORD told Moses that he had made him like a God to Pharaoh and Aaron would be his Prophet. They went to Pharaoh and Aaron’s staff became snake yet Pharaoh’s heart was hardened. They Lord turned the Nile into blood.
The Lord reassured Moses and the Israelites that he would lead them out of Egypt to the promised land. Aaron and Moses were from the tribe of Levi.
Moses and his brother Aaron told Pharaoh to let the Israelites go but he refused and increased their workload.
The Lord gave Moses signs so that the people would listen. Moses complained of his ineloquency, so God sent his brother Aaron to speak for him.
Moses heard the voice of God from a burning bush. God told him he would lead the Israelites out of Egypt. Moses asked God his name and God answered “I am who I am”.
Pharaoh’s daughter found a Hebrew baby boy by the river. She named him Moses. When Moses grew up, he killed an Egyptian. When Moses saw that his secret had been discovered he fled to Midian.
The Israelites were prosperous in Egypt, then a new king came into power and forced them into hard labour. He even ordered that their baby boys be killed at birth.
Pharaoh allowed Joseph to go and bury his father. Back in Egypt before Joseph died he made the Israelites swear an oath in anticipation of God’s intervention in their liberation and return to the land He promised their father Abraham.
Jacob gathered all his sons and blessed them. He demanded them to bury him with Abraham in the cave at Canaan. Then he died.
Jacob because ill, Joseph took his sons to see him. Jacob blessed Joseph’s sons as his own putting Ephraim ahead of Manasseh.
Pharaoh allowed Joseph’s family to settle in Goshen. The famine continued and Joseph made the Egyptians sell all the had to Pharaoh for food.
Israel and all his household journeyed to Egypt. Joseph met them and promised them he would speak with Pharaoh on their behalf.
Joseph finally told his brothers who he was. They were afraid but he told them not to be that it was God who brought him here. He brothers went to fetch their father.
Joseph hid his cup in Benjamin’s sack, then sent a steward after his brothers. Judah offered himself as a slave instead of Benjamin.
Joseph’s brothers went back to Egypt with Benjamin. Joseph invited them to his house and wept in secret at the sight of Benjamin. He called a feast for them.
In this chapter, Joseph’s brothers went to Egypt to buy grains but the didn’t recognise him. He kept Simeon in prison and sent the rest to fetch Benjamin.
Pharaoh had a dream and because of what Joseph did in prison he was called to interpret it. The dream predicted a famine and from prison Joseph became a ruler of all Egypt.
Pharaoh put his cupbearer and baker in prison. Joseph interpreted their dreams. The cupbearer was restored and the baker was hanged.
Potiphar put Joseph in charge of his house, his wife tried to seduce him, but Joseph resisted and she lied about it and poor Joseph was put in prison.
Judah’s sons Er and Onan died, leaving Tamar a widow. Judah sent her away but she put on a veil and he slept with her and she had twins.
Joseph was Isreal’s favourite son, and he had dreams that made his brothers jealous that they had to sell him. He was bought by Potiphar in Egypt.
Talks about Esau and his family line, the moved away from Seir and became the Edomites.
Jacob went to Bethel and God renamed him Isreal. They journeyed on. Rachel died having Isreal’s 12th son. Isaac died in Hebron.
Shechem raped Jacob’s daughter and asked to marry her. Jacob’s sons told him to circumcise his men, Simeon and Levi killed them.
Esau arrived with his entourage. Jacob bowed down but Esau ran to embrace him. Jacob settled near Shechem and built an altar.
When Jacob was informed of Esau’s homecoming, he was afraid; so he sent gifts. That night he wrestled with an angel and was renamed Israel.
God told Jacob to return home. Jacob left in secret, Rachel stole his father’s idols. Laban chased Jacob but a treaty was made.
Leah, her maid and Rachel’s maid had sons for Jacob. Finally Rachel had a son. Laban allowed Jacob’s flock as wages to stay.
For 7 years Jacob worked for Laban to marry Rachel, but Laban gave him Leah and made him work another 7 years for Rachel. Leah gave him sons.
Isaac sent Jacob to married one of Laban's daughters. On transit he dreamt of a ladder reaching to the heavens and God blessing him.
Rebekah helped Jacob trick Isaac into giving Jacob his blessings. Esau vowed revenge, Rebekah told Jacob to flee to her brother.
In Gerar, Isaac lied about Rebekah. He grew wealth so Abimelech sent him away. He dug wells and at Beersheba the lord blessed him.
Abraham died and was buried with Sarah. Isaac and Rebekah had Esau and Jacob. Esau sold his birthright to Jacob for a meal.
Abraham sent his servant under an oat to get a wife for Isaac in Nahor. He met Rebekah and after a miracolous incident, she went back with him and married Isaac.
Sarah died, Abraham asked and the Hittites offered him a land for free but Abraham bought a cave from Ephon and buried Sarah there.
God told Abraham to sacrifice Isaac. As Abraham obeyed, an angel stopped him, the lord provided a ram instead, Abraham and his generations were blessed.
Sarah had Isaac. She had Hagar and Ishmael sent away but God preserved them. Abraham made a treaty with Abimelech.
In Gerar Abraham said, Sarah was his sister. King Abimelech took her, God warned him in a dream and Sarah was restored to Abraham.
Angels took lot out of Sodom. The city was destroyed with fire and lot’s wife turned into a pillar of salt. Lot’s daughters had children for him.
3 visitors came, they told Sarah she would have a son next year. Sodom was evil, Abraham pleaded for the city.
God made a covenant with Abram and renamed him and his wife to Abraham and Sarah, He promised them a son. Male circumcision began.
Sarai told Abram to have children with Hagar. Hagar conceived, ran away but an angel sent her back. She bore Ishmael.
Abram was promised an heir and many descendants. He believed! He was told that they would be enslaved but would be freed.
The kings went to war, Lot was taken captive, Abram rescued him. Melchizedek blessed Abram and Abram gave him a tenth of everything.
Abram and his nephew lot journeyed. Their servants argued, so lot went to sodom and Abram went to Canaan. The Lord promised Abram the land.
God promised to make Abram a great nation and bless him. In Egypt Abram kept his relationship with Sarah a secret and Pharaoh was cursed.
Mankind had one language and began building a great tower. The lord confused there language. Shem’s line reached Abram who married Sarai.
The Japheths lived in the coastlands. The Hams included Nimrod and the canaanites. The Shems lived in the east. Nations were formed.
Noah was blessed, the rainbow was set as a sign that God will never flood the earth again. Noah got drunk and cursed Ham’s son Canaan.
The flood abated. Noah sent out a raven and two doves. The earth dried and God called them all out of the ark. Noah built an altar.
Noah and his family went into the ark with a male and a female of each living creature. It rained cat and dog on the earth for 40 days and 40 nights and the earth was covered with water.
Mankind corrupted the earth with evil. God decided to destroy them with flood. He told Noah to build an ark.
Adams line was traced down to Noah, Noah was a just man, his sons were Shem, Ham and Japheth.
Eve’s sons made offerings to the Lord, only Abel’s was accepted. Out of jealousy Cain killed his brother. Abel’s blood cried out and God sent Cain away.
The serpent deceived the woman, she and her husband ate from the tree. God punished the serpent, the woman and her husband. God sent Adam and Eve out of the Garden.
God made man out of dust and gave him the garden of Eden except the tree of good and evil. Adam was alone so God caused him to sleep and He made him a woman to keep him company.
In six days God created the heavens, the earth and everything living thing. He made mankind in his own image, and gave them charge over the earth.
Muslim, Jehova witness, pagan, it doesn’t really matter because Christ has been born for your salvation.
