In this episode of the Alternate Path, I got the opportunity to speak to Eucalyptus’s Head of Engineering, Davina.
Eucalyptus at this point requires very little introduction, an online healthcare startup based in Sydney, now backed by Mary Meeker’s Bond capital.
Mary Meeker is one the true OGs of the internet era, and the only other Aussie company Bond have backed is Canva, so that should tell you the level of faith in Eucalyptus to bring better online healthcare to the world.
Now back to this episodes guest, Davina - she is an ex Googler, ex Atlassian, and now leading Eucalyptus’s engineering team.
We talked about it was like getting into big tech, whether you should generalise or specialise, and what it was like transitioning from an individual contributor to a manager.
On top of all that, we talked about what financial independence mean to her, and how her philosophy of money evolved over time.

In this episode of the Alternate Path, I speak to Tian, the current Director of Product at afterpay (which is now part of Block).
We spoke about his journey and what his training regimen was like making his first million in poker.
The decision making framework he had is really interesting and relevant for both life and investing, so you don’t want to miss out on that.

My guest today is Joe Harris, the current Head of Growth at Eucalyptus, one of the fastest growing healthcare startups.
In May 2020, they had 30 people building two brands, one called pilot focusing on mens health, and another called Kin fertility focusing on women’s fertility. A year later, the company is approaching 150 people working on 5 digital healthcare brands, with the ambition to grow to 400 people at the end of 2022 and launch in UK.
It’s not very often a private company shares their financials or future growth roadmap,
but Eucalyptus have made their investment deck public for us.
