Waiting on the Water: Recent Episodes

Luke Blewett

The Waiting on the Water Podcast is a one-stop shop for progressive cattlemen. Our goal for this podcast is to have conversations that many cattlemen are having around the diner table, but for one reason or another, don't translate to our trade groups and organizations. This is a no filters platform and we aren't afraid to talk to anyone about anything, regardless of how "out there" they are. Host Luke Blewett is an entrepreneur based in North Idaho in the Lewis and Clark Valley. Luke raises purebred black Angus cattle and sells premium local beef.

In this episode, Luke chats with Ben and Angela Forsman, an Idaho family working to create a multi-generational ranching operation work. This episode was recorded in December of 2021 when the Forsmans were dealing with snowstorms in their fall pastures (so that is why they're referencing snow). The Forsmans dive into their hopes and dreams for the beef industry and brainstorm some ideas with Luke as to how producers can come together to find a more profitable model for ranching.

Welcome to the inaugural episode of the Waiting on the Water Podcast. We're glad to have you join us at the table as we get to know cattlemen and preacher Mr. Brian Brown. Brian has spent his entire life raising cattle and ranching and we are privileged to have him join us for our first podcast. In this episode we dive into whether we are accepting a level of poverty being ranchers, what is wrong with the checkoff program, how ranchers can try and make money, and more.
