The team at Definitive Film (The Crystal Calls, Power of Grayskull, Turtle Power and the still-forthcoming (sigh) A Riddle of Steel) is bringing their deep-dive documentary style to social media! Our pop culture projects take a long, long time and we have so much to share, so we’ve started The Definitive Podcast.
Randall masks up and digs into the dusty stacks at a used bookstore and comes up with a pile of books from all over the map. Does he get something amazing? Not usually, but that never stops him from digging... Bonus Content: Isaac can't understand why Tokyo Ghost isn't more valuable before coveting Rand's copy of Aliens vs Predator.

Today finds Randall pulling out a strange mix of oversized comics and magazines bought as a box lot in an estate sale from the household of an old guy - maybe a shopkeeper or antique store owner? - who collected a truly random bunch of stuff and maybe wasn’t so picky about what he was collecting. Isaac is enthusiastic about the local TV Times newspaper inserts, but Randall didn’t bring them. The truly mixed bag of comics is fun and weird, but I don’t think anybody will be retiring on the riches uncovered… For your own safety, don't take a drink every time Randall says something is "fun". Note: he says it a lot.

Isaac and Randall welcome writer, filmmaker, hardcore fan and collector of many things Kyle Newman to the Staysh (via Skype) for a conversation that goes deep into why we are what we are and do what we do in pop culture. We’re happy to find ourselves working on some things with Kyle and really enjoyed this chance to get to know a little more about his nerdentials, which turns out to cover a very wide range ideed. Most recently, he’s coming out with a D&D cookbook - you read that right and it’s called Heroes’ Feast - coming out soon. We can’t wait to read it and eat it.

Can you guess which one? Of course it’s stereotypical to collect Wolverine and yes, the character was way overdone during the X-Men craze and stands as emblematic of when the comics bubble burst back in the day, but good is good even when the volume is high and it doesn’t get much better than some of this week’s awesome comics.
