The holidays can be stressful for many reasons. For my family in particular, we have birthdays, death anniversaries, and divorce that makes this time extra triggering. This year I decided to take a different approach and set my intentions for the holiday season before it arrived. This has helped me feel less stressed overall. In this episode, I share a very personal story about my family and the reality of the holiday season for us. I hope it reminds you that you're not alone if you're struggling, to be kind to everyone, and to not take your people for granted.
In honor of my dad, who would have turned 62 today. l love you more than anything in the whole wide world.
WEPT is how I evaluate and set my boundaries to maintain healthy relationships with the people in my life.

First, identify your belief system and values and then you can set boundaries in alignment with those.
This works with friends, family, coworkers, and romantic partners.
No matter what your belief system or values are, you can protect yourself and behave in a way that supports those.
You are in charge of setting boundaries in your life. When a relationship is not mutually beneficial, that's a sign you need to set boundaries or let go of the relationship. If you feel drained, exhausted, neglected, or taken advantage of, it's not healthy. Prioritize your overall wellbeing first because nobody else is going to do that for you.

In this episode, I have a conversation with my mom, Shaune, who is an esthetician in Kansas City and has been for 16 years. She's owned her own business for almost 9 years and shares all the wisdom and advice about how she made her dream job a reality. This is great for any young moms who need inspiration, women who are going back to school or making a career change, and anyone who is eager to start their own business.
