Secretly Relatable: Recent Episodes

Amber Marie

As the epidemic of anxiety continues to rise, more and more people are struggling with overwhelming feelings of comparison, inadequacy, and isolation, and it's taking a toll on our overall well-being. But what if you heard a story about a struggle that suddenly made you feel a little less alone in the world? What if something in that person's story resonated with you and helped you to understand yourself, or maybe someone that you love just a little bit better? That's the goal of this podcast. It is a place to share the stories of everyday people who have figured out a way over, under, around, or through their secret or maybe not so secret struggles, and have found a way to show up for themselves and others to create community and belonging. Real conversations with real people. New episodes released every Wednesday morning. I hope you'll join me.

In today's episode, I had the privilege of interviewing fellow chronic illness warrior and host of Bladder Battle Podcast: Lauren Wion. Lauren started her podcast after struggling with anger, denial, and feelings of being alone on her health journey and set out to not only create awareness around Interstitial Cystitis but also to create a platform that provides a plethora of information and resources to those who may be feeling all alone on their own health journey. She's passionate about creating a sense of community and shedding light on all the aspects of health issues that are often left in the dark and infrequently talked about.

In today’s episode, I wanted to do something a little different and share one of the biggest struggles that I faced personally when I was first diagnosed with chronic illness, and one of the questions that I get most often regarding dealing with chronic illness: "What do you wish you would have known when you first got diagnosed?"  So I thought I would share, ten things that I wish I would have known at the beginning of my chronic illness journey.

Join me, Amber Marie, a health and mindset coach, wellness advocate, and chronic illness warrior as I share the stories of everyday people and how they've navigated over, under, around, and through secret and maybe not so secret struggles in their lives. If I've learned anything as a coach and advocate over the years, it's that nobody is immune to struggling at some point, and how much it helps to know that we aren't alone as we move through those struggles.  Having a community that you can connect and share your story with and relate to, makes all of the difference when you're trying to heal and move forward through seasons of struggle. This is a place for real stories, with real people, about real life, and how we've found a way to turn our struggles into purpose. Every Wednesday, I will be sharing tips, tools, and resources that I and my guests have learned along the way that have made the biggest impacts in our lives. I hope that you'll join me as together we strive to build stronger connections and community.  Our struggles may not always look the same, but together we can help each other feel a little less alone in the world.
