This is The Word Around Podcast where we break barriers by discussing the issues, successes, struggles, and day to day experiences of people of color of all ages.
In this 8th episode of the pod, our topic was black history and black excellence. With the help of Jordan aka JMac we unveiled plenty of acknowledgement and recognition for black radicalism, strength and identity in America and abroad. We also explore our own ideas of how self-exploration can bring out true empowerment through art, culture and creativity to break any shackles wrongfully put on us as Black people.
In this episode we brought the results from "Pop Culture Time" , a game we played with the instagram following community that re-introduced some notable and highly acclaimed black entertainers, movies, music, and comedy. We got such a big number of people who participated that we decided to base this episode on the results to reveal the numbers for who chose who, and what that might say about our individual preferences and how these influential people have effected different crowds within the diverse following group of TWA.
In this episode we invited two close friends Brandon & Annie to join us in this conversation on Worlds Colliding, how people from all walks of life can understand each other despite differences and conditions they've lived through. We talked about what coming together as people means to us, the steps we feel it takes to get there, and some personal experiences of defining our identities in America now. We also go into great detail about peoples approach to maintaining, getting better, and communal help.
In this episode we discussed some factors of the current conditions we face as a nation & the effects of living in the wake of a pandemic. Together we offered advice, encouragement from first hand experiences of how to get through these tough times, not just as an individual but how to do that with those around you. Artrell talks about his interest in Cosmos (The Universe) and how we are connected with the universe as a whole. He also talks about how the universe's energy has a profound effect on us all.

We also described some dreams we both had and what meanings we drew from them. In this Episode young pioneer's Demelvae & Jmac break down a very interesting conversation about Manifestation and what it means to them. The two also shared experiences of manifestations that they've lived to see through out their lives. This episode highlights important points about manifestation, identity, leadership, fellowship & courage under any circumstance. Jmac opens up with personal thoughts, experiences and what he looks to manifest as his life progresses and put him further into positions of growth and self development. Demelvae also give his insight on how important manifestation is to the community of color, himself, and his social environment. In this episode we discussed a heavy topic, Survival & Trauma. Together we formed a discussion about surviving trauma within families, social groups, work, school & personal instances. We shed light on what goes on around us and what we are familiar with and aware of. We also gave some tips and advice on how to recognize different types of trauma and what that looks like.
