Welcome to GlutenFitz, a podcast by a guy who has fits in his sleep, and a guy who can't eat bread. We're two uni students who talk a lot, and thought let's put that talking to good use. Tune in to hear our therapeutic voices discuss social, cultural and political issues that will hopefully be of interest to a few of you. We'll open up about our experiences and try and offer some mildly decent advice, which might make you laugh, might make you cry, but that will hopefully put smiles on some faces or help some people out. Other than that, thank you all for tuning in. Please follow the podcast on Spotify to see each episode, and follow @Glutenfitzpodcast. Also, here is our own personal IG accounts: @joe_paternoster and @maxykendall to be notified when each new episode is released. Big love, Max and Joe.
After an absence of a couple of month's Max and Joe are back for Episode 10. We're really excited to be back!
This is a really basic episode, shorter than most others. We update you on what we've done over the past couple of months, including discussing our coursework, our push-up challenge for Cancer Research UK, and our thoughts on clubs reopening.
Towards the end, we talk a bit about the Euros, giving our thoughts as to who should be in the starting XI for England, how far we think England will go, and who we think will win it.
Joe's audio is pretty shite on this one - he's at home, so had to use some shitty normal mic!
Plenty more episodes to come :)
We really appreciate the support. Follow us on Insta @GlutenFitzPodcast, on Twitter @GlutenFitz and on Spotify by searching 'GlutenFitz' on Spotify. Also, we'd love it if you followed Max's fitness page @theglutengym and our push-up challenge page @the_grove_100_challenge. Both on Instagram.

No time stamps for this one as it's a lot shorter, but for the record we start talking about the Euros just after the 22 minute mark.
Episode 9 is something a bit different. KyZen is a first year UoN Economics student who has Crohn's disease. Due to his condition, KyZen has had to shield for much of the past year, and in the process started a hobby that come out of absolutely nowhere ... Rapping.
He released his first single, 'Isolation', a while ago, a tentative entry into the rapping world. His second single, 'Rising Star', is out TODAY, and he describes it as very much being more his style and where he wants to go with things.
KyZen's story is fascinating. Joe knew nothing about Crohn's Disease before the podcast, and Max only knew a little bit, so give this a listen for an eye-opening insight into the reality of living with such a condition.
We go onto discuss how ruined Kyzen's first year at uni has been, what sparked this rap journey, the lyrics to some of his songs, the importance of family, how Crohn's has shaped his life, and much more.
Please note that we had some real audio trouble to begin with in this one, so if things sound worse than normal that might be why. Still, it was a terrific podcast and it was awesome having KyZen on. 'Rising Star' is out on all major platforms, and the music video will be released shortly.
Follow KyZen on Instagram @kyzen_rap for all the latest updates. As for us, follow us on Insta @GlutenFitzPodcast, on Twitter @GlutenFitz and on Spotify by searching 'GlutenFitz' on Spotify.

Episode 8 is an episode particularly close to Joe's heart, as we talk about epilepsy on Purple Day, which is the annual awareness day for epilepsy. Joe was diagnosed with epilepsy at the age of 11, and is joined by Ellie Henry and John Priestman, two other epileptics. Ellie was diagnosed with epilepsy in the past few years, whilst John has had it since he was 7. It was a pleasure to have them both on.
Max asks us all various questions that you have submitted, leading to a wide ranging discussion across a range of topics. We discuss what happens when we have a seizure, what you should do if you are with someone having a seizure, our experiences with epilepsy and alcohol, SUDEP, misconceptions, positives to come out of having epilepsy (if any!) and so much more.
Please note that WE ARE NOT MEDICAL EXPERTS! So any advice we give should totally be secondary to that given by your doctor. Every epileptic is different - we just hoped that sharing our unique experiences would give those with epilepsy the reassurance that they are not alone, and would raise awareness with those who aren't epileptic and would like to learn more about it.
As mentioned, this is released to raise awareness of epilepsy in line with Purple Day. A number of great charities are helping to raise awareness on this day, and we strongly encourage you to check out their websites and social media. They include Young Epilepsy, which Ellie and I are reps for, the Epilepsy Society, Epilepsy Action, and the Purple Day website. Please support the cause and, well, wear purple!
Thank you all so much for listening, we really appreciate it! Huge thanks too to Ellie and John for coming on and talking about their conditions. Ellie has a YouTube channel called Small and Strong, and an IG page too (small_and_strong) - check it out!
Follow us on Spotify, on Instagram @GlutenFitzPodcast and on Twitter @GlutenFitz. Big love everyone, Max and Joe.

Episode 7 is part 2 of our collaboration with Tom Kenyon from Kendog's Pod, covering a wild range of topics centred broadly around the theme of good and evil. This episode has already been released on Tom's YouTube channel (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j3pXOmO0MsI&t=2102s), but we thought we'd release it here too just so that our playlist is complete for y'all.
This got quite deep and controversial in certain places. Discussed first are topics of upbringing and leadership, as we talk about how our youths shaped who we are today, and our various experiences of leadership. We then transition to a wide ranging discussion of good and evil. We cover abortion, politics, and the frightening idea that if we had lived in Germany during Nazi rule, there is a chance that we may have well been Nazis. All this and more in a wide ranging and thought provoking episode. Timestamps are below.
Special thanks to Tom for collaborating with us, it was a pleasure to speak with him. Check out his YouTube via the link above, or follow @kendogspod on Instagram for more from him.

Episode 6 is out and covers a topic meaningful to a lot of people, in body image. This episode is also unique in that we collaborated with Tom Kenyon, who runs his own podcast Kendog's Pod (@kendogspod on Instagram) for all his details. It was great to talk to Tom about a broad range of issues, including body positivity, eating habits and disorders, calorie counting, our own really negative experiences and how we emerged from them better, fat shaming, filters, and so much more.
This was originally meant to be one episode, but we ended up talking for over 2 hours, with the second hour largely occupied with stuff away from the body image theme. Therefore, this is part 1 of 2 of our collaboration with Tom. The second part will be out some point in the week, so stay tuned!
We really thank you all for listening. This is a deep topic we only scratched the surface of in some areas, and one that we will be sure to revisit in the future guests with different perspectives.

Welcome to the 2nd episode of the GlutenFitz podcast, run by two uni students. Today, we talk about lockdown 3.0, with a focus on how that is affecting us as students. We look at the current rent strike at UoN, the debate around a grace period, tuition fee reductions and a safety net, and how we personally are responding to the lockdown. Note Joe is the President of the English Society so has some advice for English students based on his communications with the School of English. We hope you’re all doing okay at the moment given the new lockdown, and thank you so much for listening. Please follow our Spotify for more podcasts, and well we made an Instagram account, @GlutenFitz, so please follow us on there! Big love, Max and Joe.

Welcome to the first ever episode of the GlutzenFitz podcast!
Run by 2 uni students, we talk about social, cultural and political issues that we find interesting to us. And some random things too.
This first episode is about loss. We aimed to talk about loss in several senses of the word, but in the end we had so much to say about losing people in terms of them passing away, that we dwelled on that for the whole episode.
So, in essence, this isn't a happy one!
That being said, we hope some good will come out of it. Both of us open up about the loved ones we've lost, offer very open and honest insights into how that emotional trauma has affected us, and provide some advice (we hope) on how we dealt with that trauma and were able to channel it into something good.
Please follow us on Spotify for the next one, and at our Instagram's @joe_paternoster and @maxykendall where we'll promote the podcast (until we make an actual Insta page for the podcast itself lol).
Big love,
Max and Joe (GlutenFitz)
DISCLAIMER the audio quality is very bad we know but it's our first one so please be considerate!
